My favorite was Thai basil fried rice with fried tofu, it might sound simple but not one thai restaurant had done it right. We asked for Thai spicy which was a good heat! We lived 40 mins away but it’s worth it! Zaab Thai is my prioritize Thai food!

Such incredible food! You would expect quality and flavors like this from a 5 star place in downtown Chicago. Fresh ingredients you can taste, everything made from scratch, every detail well thought out. The fried-ground catfish will live in my dreams. How it's crunchy and juicy and so flavorful is mind-boggling! The basil duck was excellent and on the spicy side, the salted fish and crab fried rice was delicious, the real crab in the crab rangoon was awesome, and the fried taro was the potato replacement you never knew you needed! Grilled calamari tasted deliciously marinated and was cooked to perfection. The thai iced tea was a treat, and so was the ice cream! A very quiet and very clean establishment. Excellent service and a great place to bring the family. Highly recommend and we will absolutely be back to try more!

This little restaurant is a hidden gem. The food is really fresh and well prepared, and very inexpensive considering the generous portions. I ordered the satay, summer rolls, cucumber salad, and pineapple rice, and it was more than enough for 2 people. Will definitely visit them again.

Food is good, but they seem to have trouble following instructions. There is always something wrong with our order, sometimes minor and sometimes fairly significant, but it's consistent. I always order online for pickup and the app allows for detailed instructions but something is always omitted or ignored. I'm going to try ordering on the phone next time but if they still mess it up, I'm done. It's not worth the aggravation.

Hidden on the busy corner of McLean blvd and Bowes rd. Is a pretty decent Thai restaurant. The decor is kind of basic, but the pad Thai and crab fried rice was very good. The rice had a nice fluff and perfectly done texture to it. The pad Thai noodles was cooked perfect, not soft and squishy like a lot of places.

I love Asian food and wanted to try this restaurant because I haven’t tried it yet. I ordered the lard na beef(Thai hot). The entire dish was straight bland! The beef was hard to chew, the gravy was bland , the Chinese broccoli was bland, the chow fun noodles were bland. The chili oil was not good either and was not hot at all. I was very disappointed because I’ve grew up on Lao and Thai food my entire life and was expecting better. 12.97$ was totally not worth it for their lard na dish.

Best Thai food EVER! So happy to have tracked down Kenny and his lovely wife. They used to run Siam House in Niles for 30+years. Now our family drives ~ 1 hour to eat here. So worth it!

Order our long time family favorites! Crab fried rice. Mixed vegetable and tofu. Basil eggplant. Pad Thai with tofu. Chicken satay. Chicken red curry. Tum yum soup. Basil chicken. Food is the absolute best!

Yet to find another Thai place that comes even half way close to Kenny's cooking! For real. Once you taste his food, you will also find yourself driving like us from Skokie to Elgin.

We’ve ordered take out here twice in the past few weeks. I can say flavor wise, this is the best I have had in the area (although the fried rice is definitely lacking), but it can still be much better. Their spice levels are inconsistent. I ordered medium spicy for both my ginger chicken and a noodle dish (separate visit) and the noodle dish was at least twice as spicy. I chose to review because I don’t appreciate things being added to my stir fry that are not listed. I ordered ginger chicken which does not pair well with pineapple but yet there were at least ten pieces of pineapple in my dish. This was not listed in the ingredient list in the menu. On top of that my rice dish came with the smallest container of rice I have ever seen. It holds about 1/2-3/4 cup. I was hoping I found my local thai place, but I will still be traveling 25 mins to Batavia (Tusk) for better and more consistent Thai.

not disappointed at all. I ordered the pad thai noodles and they were delicious, I ordered them hot and they were hot alright which is fine with me because I love spicy food. The portion was really good, definitely satisfied.

We have found that most Thai restaurants skimp on portion size compared to Chinese restaurants but were pleasantly surprised!

We used Door Dash for the first time. They kept us advised of arrival time & provided an excellent service!

Food serving and pricing doesn’t matched! Too pricey and amount of food serving will not satisfy for a single meal. If you want better Thai, Chinese or Lao food go to White Pearl!!!

Picked up from here last night for the first time. Panang Curry dish with tofu may have been the most flavorful take I’ve had of this before.

The only issue is with the serving size. Panang Curry was filled less than half way. The serving should be filled to at least the first line for the price point. The accompanying white rice container on the small side.

All said, we will absolutely return as the flavor is incredible. I suppose we’ve gotten used to large portions at other Thai restaurants. 🤷‍♂️

The place itself is as simple and basic as it gets; four walls and clean tables. The focus is on the food. Fresh ingredients prepared wonderfully, fast service. Delicious!!! Extensive and interesting menu, very good prices, we'll return to explore more dishes. The Shu Mai is among the best I've had, the duck and soft shell crab were delicious, the Pad Lad Nar was excellent. The spring rolls are superb, with real fresh ingredients, not oily like at most places. (but the papaya salad was just ok). Absolutely recommend this place. Come here for the food, don't look for ambiance or glitz, because that's not what it is. This place is a surprise treat in a plain brown wrapper.

Great food! Service was fine. But every time the door opened when people came in or left a hurricane would blow through this small restaurant, blowing napkins and everything all over the place. It was actually kind of funny.

1st time trying Zaab. Ordered take out, and you have to walk through the restaurant to get your food. Decor is a little plain, some Thai decorations would really give it a better atmosphere. Now the food: after Reading all of these great reviews, I was hoping for a lot better than what I got.. Too much rice (ordered Cashew Chicken) & my chicken was soooo dry. The pineapple in it was very unexpected…not a fan of it. The whole dish was very dry & needed 2-3 times more sauce, the flavor was average. Probably won’t go back.

Everything we ordered tasted great! This is by far the most authentic Thai food in the area.👍🏼

Incredibly delicious food, and great atmosphere. We come over an hour to eat here. Their basil duck is amazing! Would totally recommend anyone to come and enjoy some traditional Thai food and outstanding hospitality.

You know a place has good food when you are full but keep eating because it's that delicious. I can't recommend it enough. The taste is very authentic and the service is amazing. I've been to alot of thai restaurants and even been to Thailand and I can say this resturant is the best I've ever had. I can not recommend it enough!!

One of the best Thai restaurant in Chicago Land area. Chef Kenny (owned and operated Siam’s House in Niles for 30-+years) recently opened Zaab Thai and already so many followers coming from Chicago. More than highly recommend!

My wife and I stopped into Zaab Thai today for lunch. This is a cozy little place that just opened up a few weeks ago. The lunchtime rush was on and there were only 1 or 2 tables left.

Right as we walked in there was a table of 5 or 6 Buddhist monks enjoying their lunch. I said to my wife, "Ooh boy, this is gonna be great!" And it certainly was.

The staff is very nice, polite, and downright friendly. Heck, the chef even came out to greet us. What a wonderful smile he has! I've attached his picture. Am I right or am I right?

Their menu has a lot of options and it was really difficult to choose, so we over-ordered, knowing full well that we were bringing some great Thai food home. We ordered crab rangoon and egg rolls as an appetizer, followed up with roast BBQ pork and Basil Duck as our main entrees and a sampling of their homemade ice cream which was in two flavors, durian and coconut.

Everything was perfectly done, fresh and delicious. The flavor of the real crab came through in the Rangoon. The egg rolls were densely packed and crunchy. The roast BBQ pork served over rice had a great flavor and the star of the show, the basil duck blew me away!

Just when I couldn't think of eating another bite, our lovely and sweet server offered us their handmade ice cream. So light and creamy, yet so flavorful, the ice cream was a perfect ending as it cleaned up our pallets beautifully.

I can't wait to get back. Please, get over there and enjoy!

Ordered beef pad kee mao and beef pad Thai last night, both excellent! Lots of meats and great flavors. I didn't get any pics because my fat a$$ scarfed down all the food.

Short wait for DELICIOUS food! The egg rolls were great and we had 2 entrees, Ginger Chicken and Red Curry! Both were fantastic!

We ordered a pan of basil rice with sweet sausage, chicken skewers and chicken egg rolls. The food was absolutely delicious. It had just the right level of spice, full of flavor. I will be recommending to everyone I know!
