This place really feels like a hidden gem in Crystal Lake. I believe covid and delivery has gotten their food into a lot more people's homes the last few years, but I so heavily recommend stopping by in person as well.

The interior isn't huge but is well decorated, clean, and makes for a great date night spot. I don't know how they do it, but the quality of service along with the speed at which food is to your table after ordering is so refreshing and helps the night feel effortless and personal. Having conversations or enjoying a meal is easier when you don't have to micromanage your table.

So far I have not found anything on the menu I do not like. I focus mostly on their amazing sushi and appetizers to share at the table with chopsticks and soy. I have tried some popular Chinese-style dishes like Mongolian Beef, and Orange Chicken much to my and my partner's enjoyment as well, though.

Overall I hope this place is doing well because we are really starting to enjoy coming here on Saturdays!

The Sushi here is incredible! The sashimi was outstanding in quality and flavor and the signature rolls were beautiful! I know I will have to come back to try the rest of the menu, but this spot is worth of many returns! So happy to have such a great spot nearby! And also--super thankful for the staff being able to accommodate with gluten-free substitutes. Thank you!

The Ramen is amazing. I’ve tried so many Tonkotsu Ramen spots around Chicago / Downtown Chicago and this is by far the best i’ve ever had. Tastes fresh, creamy, spicy (if you like it spicy) it’s perfect!!!

The sushi here is top notch! The fish is so fresh, they dont overuse the rice, and the options for sake and liquor is amazing! This place is a hidden gem in Crystal Lake. The $28 all you can eat sushi is a steal and the best all you can eat sushi I have ever had in Chicago land! The decor and music is also awesome! Highly recommend and I will be coming back!

I'm usually not in this area but needed to get some lunch. I placed an order online because the reviews were great. Did not disappoint. I had their sushi combo and Mongolian beef. Great value and good quality. I walked around inside and the place has a great vibe. Probably really great to come there for dinner and have some drinks. It's an hour away from me so I would drive there but if you are near by worth the drop in.

As a first time customer, I was astonished to put in an online order and find a surprise 25% upcharge plus a tip added to my bill at checkout, with no mention beforehand. Not the best business practice. You need a statement on the website saying, "Tasty Bistro adds a substantial charge and tip to carry out orders." Yes, you're entitled to make a living, but customers are entitled to know al possible charges upfront.

I ordered the happy roll and got food poisoning, after a hour or so I started to throwing up and have intense stomach pains.

This place is underrated and a GEM. Portions are basically 2 dinners for the price of one. Staff is on point every time. This is my third time coming here since finding it a couple months ago- definitely love dining in, they have a beautiful set up.

I’ve read all the reviews and looked at the previous pictures and really cannot figure out why our Chicken Pad Thai came out red and taste like ketchup. If i were to make a suggestion stick to the sushi and just know that it’s not all you can eat for dinner on the weekends!

Tempura was a huge disappointment. The shrimp were fine--seemed to be the Trader Joe's tempura shrimp that they fried up, but the vegetables were in a thick, doughy batter that was RAW inside. That is NOT tempura! For the price paid, I would have hoped more care would have been taken with the food, but other than the shrimp, it was inedible (and left on the plate). The server should have checked in at the end of the meal, but I guess they didn't want to lose the sale. Instead, they have lost a customer--and I will not be recommending them to others.

We had a party of 8 for a birthday and we were blown away! Our server was attentive but not overbearing and quite funny! Also, the food was phenomenal. Everything came exactly as described, warm, timely, and delicious. Our party of 8 ranged from 3 years old to 57 years old and no one was disappointed. The amount of food per plate was large and we had enough to take home. The broth on two of the ramen bowls was so delicious, all sushi rolls ordered were shared and phenomenal! Our birthday kiddo even got tempura ice cream that we all shared! We are a very particular and picky family and this place blew us away!

Went there for my 60th bday lunch. Only two of us. The restaurant was empty. The service was OK. Huge plate of food that barely fit on the table. Had the hibachi steak -:fabulous. But cold. Overdone and mushy vegs. Thinking that no one else was there, the food would at least be hot. Great flavors. Horrible execution. $100 of disappintment.

Waiter didnt come take our order drink till after 30 mins and us asking some lady if we had a server. Will definitely not be coming back slow service

I ordered sashimi (Which I have to say is some of the best sashimi I’ve ever had) to go and the credit card machine was not working correctly. I looked at my bank account and it showed that I had been charged twice so I called right away and they told me if both charges went through to come to the restaurant and they would give me a refund. Both charges ended up going through so I went in. The gentleman that took care of me, Kevin was very nice about the situation. He told Me that he had to call someone for the refund and I would have it within 3 to 5 business days. I did receive my refund and I appreciate how quickly he acted on it. I will definitely be ordering from here again.

Update: After I originally wrote this review, the restaurant directly reached out to me within the hour. They were very apologetic for the food and wanted to make things right by having us give them a 2nd try. They offered to make our order again, and we picked it up the next day. We're glad we took them up on their offer because the food was fantastic compared to the first time!! The crab ragoons were crispier, and the General Tso's chicken was juicy and flavorful! We got the Szechuan beef instead of the Beef Thai Spicy Crazy Noodle, and the beef was very good.

First time coming here. We called ahead and placed a carry out order for Crab ragoons, General Tsos chicken, and the Beef Thai Spicy Crazy Noodle. The to-go packaging was great, but the food was absolutely terrible!! :( The crab ragoons were very chewy and seemed old. The General Psos chicken was tiny, overcooked pieces of chicken that tasted like over-microwaved leftovers, and the white rice that came with it was also old tasting and dry texture. The absolute worst was the Beef Thai Spicy Crazy Noodles that were extremely overcooked noodles, very mushy, too salty, and wasn't even spicy at all! We ended up throwing it away!

Sadly, we will not be returning to this place :( it seemed so promising too... the gentleman who gave us our food at the counter though was nice!

I was impressed at the size of the sushi rolls. I ordered 3 and barely finished them all. They were so delicious! My daughter had the ramen and she loved it, too. We have ordered pick up as well and it was packaged up very nicely. It's our new favorite Asian restaurant. There is so much on the menu. Something for everyone. Cheers!

We are big fans of Kyoto, down the road, but their prices have gone crazy. First time at Tasty Bistro and we will be back. Food and service was great and at about half the price.

I eat here frequently as it is walking distance from home. The rolls are an outstanding value and delicious. Also, it's pretty typical for other Asian cuisine places, but the ginger salad is a personal favorite.

I cried twice while here. Tears of joy for their fire dragon roll is just that good and tears of sadness for eventually I must leave but I keep hope for one day I shall return.

We ordered Christmas Eve dinner from here,I had tropical rice substituted the shrimp for tofu, so it was tofu n chicken instead, but it had such a horrible smell I just could not eat it. Plus, it didn’t taste good either, my husband agreed tasted horrible too so no one ate it…he was supposed to call N ask for a refund on my dinner because I didn’t eat anything he never got around to it tho! 😔 he loved his Mongolian beef,I don’t eat beef also tried my son’s sesame chicken no good either like shoe leather the pieces of chicken were very little all breading. First time we ate here loved the food now only the cocktails are awesome and the service is great!

Great all you can eat sushi place in Crystal Lake! For around $30, you can get their all you can eat special, which includes appetitezers, regular sushi rolls, and speciality sushi rolls.

The portions are full portions though, so be careful how many you order. You do pay extra if there are leftovers. In my party, we each got around two sushi rolls and two appetitezers, and it was about the right amount of food.

The sushi wasn't the best I've eaten but for an all you can eat place, it was great!

Loved it. I am allergic to shellfish, so I got the Philadelphia roll and avocado salmon roll both were 8pc. One was 8$, and the other was 7.50$. The inside was super nice. The server was very welcoming and funny :D

Amazing Sushi! Went for Dinner and Lunch. Lunch specials are amazing!

We have been wanting to try this place for a while. I'm very impressed with this place! First off, the outdoor/entrance area was nice, clean, and the parking was convenient. Upon walking into the nicely decorated entrance, we were greeted and seated promptly. To our surprise, there were only two other couples eating in. Service was quick and friendly. Drinks were great, cherry blossom martini was good, but a bit sweet. But the food, wow. The food was delicious! We started with edemame, crab rangoon, and shumai. For entrees, we got the "Tasty Sushi," seaweed salad, Jalapeno Steak dinner, and shared a Lucky Roll. Everything was amazing, fresh, and plentyful. The serving size of the jalapeno steak dinner and seaweed salad were huge! Plenty to take home. The prices were very reasonable, which was the cherry on top of a wonderful dinner. Can't wait to come back for lunch specials (great deals!).

All in all, we had a great first-time experience. If you're considering trying Tasty Bistro, I highly encourage it!

Stopped in for lunch and was surprised to see only a couple of cars in the parking lot just before 1pm. I ordered the lunch special (3 rolls and house salad for $13). I got a spicy crab stick roll, a spicy tuna roll, and the shrimp tempura roll. The tuna had a strong odor and the color was inconsistent. I couldn't swallow it. The spicy crab stick was decent with wasabi and soy sauce. I did not care for the shrimp tempura roll as it was doused in oyster sauce and soy couldn't save it. I enjoyed the small salad with ginger dressing and ordered a kani salad that was also tasty.

My friend ordered the 2 roll lunch plate and also received a very strong scented plate. The boiled shrimp in the Boston roll had zero flavor and had a giant glob of mayo on top. She ended up having to send her plate back it was so unappetizing. She did enjoy the California roll she ordered instead.

Our server was attentive and friendly.

The food was extremely disappointing and we will not be back.

We regularly get Sushi delivery at their location in Cary, but decided to dine in at their new location. The menu was vast and we were curious to try the Thai and Chinese as we are familiar with their Japanese. Food all around was fantastic. The general Tsos wasn't overly fried like other places and the Thai was great heat was flavorful. Decor was well suited for the meal and server and speed was great.

After reading all the great reviews….wow were we disappointed. While the appetizers were decent ( gyozas and crab Rangoon) all of our entrees; orange chicken, sesame chicken and coconut shrimp were over cooked to the point of being inedible. The manager gave us a sizable discount on our bill, sadly the food wasn’t worth taking home leftovers. Perhaps too many ethnic cuisines to do them all well.

Best General Tso Chicken I've ever had.

Beef Teriyaki was excellent. Tempura veggies were so good. Very colorful in the restaurant with the lights. Excellent service.

My coworker told me good things about this place so I had to try it for myself but I had to do a pickup order since the kids wanted pizza and I was craving sushi 😂. I ordered the rainbow roll, spicy scallop roll, shrimp tempura roll, and crab rangoon. Everything was very good and fresh. Employees were very attentive and very friendly. I was greeted and helped right as soon as I walked in. The place looks nice with lots of room for big groups of people or even just by yourself. Give this place a try and you won’t be disappointed. I’m definitely coming back for AYCE 😋 and dine in experience. Will see you guys soon.

Every time I ordered the sushi is always fresh. Their mongolian beef is the best i've ever had. Is their fred rice is amazing as well.

I go to Tasty Bistro at least once a month and really enjoy this establishment. The sushi chefs are always friendly with me and the staff is always nice. The only issue with service is that it sometimes takes a bit longer than usually to get service. There were 2 experiences (out of the 16 times I've been there) where the server would take 10-15 minutes to even get me a menu.

The food is good depending on what you get. I recommend the sushi, ramen, and Japenese dishes the most. Their drinks are also delicious and can get you feeling buzzed fast.

The overall atmosphere is very nice with a beautiful interior. Compared to other past resturants at this location, Tasty Bistro has survived the longest which says a lot about it. I would recommend a larger sign to put on Route 14.

We decided to dine here and was impressed with the interior decor. The food was pretty good but the Cary location is a bit better. What I found to be lacking is the service speed. Things happened incredibly slow after being seated. Lastly, I thought it was interesting that male servers were wearing sweatpants and tshirts and not something more professional. It did not impede their abilities, but having a uniform would be more professional.

We love coming here! The food is amazing across the board, no matter what you order it will be delicious. And the inside is so cool! It’s worth going and being there for sure. The team is all super friendly and they have high attention to detail. Would highly recommend for anyone!

The waiters are hardly understandable and I speak two languages. My original waiter took our order for drinks than he never came back to get order for food.

Honestly the food is amazing. I had a fire dragon roll and it was so good. For dessert I had some strawberry mochi and it's was also so good. Everyone there was super nice. There is a little bit of a wait but I didn't care because the food was worth it honestly. But yeah the people there made jokes and and they overall nice. The place also looks really cool. It reminded me of Miami in the 70s. All the tables were clean and everything was just overall clean and it looks really nice.

SO GOOD! And such a great value. There is a ton on their menu and everything is so tasty and fresh. You literally cannot go wrong. Our table had various sushi's, raman, and appetizers. I especially like how many vegetarian options they have. The service is friendly and quick which is perfect for lunch and dinner, social and work meetings. They also have fantastic cocktails.

Great deal with the coupon. Fish was fresh. Ate the raw sushi even though I’m pregnant. really spicy though, but left us feeling good and satisfied! Which is what I look for after a meal out.

This place is a beautiful sit down restaurant. The sushi was really good, too! It seemed a little drowned in sauces, but to each their own.

Service was real good until the appetizers came out and then she was gone! The main entre took more than 20 minutes to come after the apps and then they were Luke warm. The girl that was bussing tables also brought out our food. It was tasty and the portions were large. This is the second time we tried Tasty Bistro in Crystal lake and it did get better from when they first opened. Slightly, My husband ordered the chicken curry and it was dry. Could have used more sauce.

The decorations in the place are crazy but the food was really good. It has a slightly different flavor than your standard but in a good way. The pot stickers, Raman and orange chicken were awesome. We did it with tofu and not chicken and it was still very good.

My wife and I enjoy the sushi options. Their sushi is above average for a non-coastal region. The menu is huge and offers something for everybody, including the kids. My 10-year-old actually requested this restaurant for his birthday.

The lunch special sashimi is a good meal at a good price.

Waited a long time to get seated. Service and food were good though.

Went here for my mom's birthday. Everything was great. It wasn't too busy. Service was good. Ambiance was prefect. Food was all tasty. They even have kids meals! The kids loved the Japanese sodas and the M&Ms.

Very friendly staff always feel welcomed when I eat here can’t speak on other food but the sushi here is very good with good prices as well compared to others in the area.

My favorite new sushi restaurant in the area. As compared to most, who get their seafood deliveries twice weekly (usually Tues and Fri), this place gets delivered fresh daily and you can certainly taste the difference. Located where the M Supper Club used to be, they have maintained the high end restaurant ambiance. Their sushi chefs are great at creating unique special items while their menu maintains all the expected favorites as well. Highly recommend the Chef's Special Sashimi appetizer.
