Finally open and worth the wait!! Easy menu with everything from appetizers, salads, curries, noodles, rice dishes, and desserts. Pick your spice level! Especially great to have northern thai food that is hard to find elsewhere like the Khao Soi. Everything we had was great and they're so nice. Great addition to the Fort Street area.
New spot opened on Fort Steet. Had to try it. Small space, a/c was working great. I suggest calling in an order as they make it to order and it is a small kitchen. I got the pad thai with chicken medium spice level. It was very tasty, I like spice and will get the high spice level next time. Very good. 10/10 would recommend.
“authentic” is the most overused and misunderstood word in food. i spent 5 years living and working in thailand, experiencing everything from street food to Michelin starred joints, home cooked regional cuisines, coming to the conclusion that authentic really is subjective when it comes to food… i suppose it beautifully is analogous for people also. be that as it may, as long as it tastes good to you, nothing else really matters. So the pad thai i had here, was definitely not the best i’ve had, but it was a decent value, huge portions, bit bland but i think it suits the general gentle taste pallets of westerners. its a 3 star pad thai, but im gonna give 4 because it was a good value. looking forward to coming back to try the curries. i think the location is challenging. downtown honolulu has a long ways to go addressing the homeless population nearby, although im a big fan of not simplifying such a complex problem, it should be noted that its visible, and some folks might not feel safe walking or parking in the streets… but i think its worth braving such feelings since there are tons of great places to eat nearby. so put your ‘bigg boi’ hat on and explore this area.
Just opened, but very happy with this new spot in Downtown. Prices are just right, menu has plenty of options, and their drinks (Thai iced tea) were also very good. We ordered the Pad Thai and Drunken Noodels, which were fresh, filled with veggies and meat, tasty and very well seasoned!
Not a lot of seating inside and lights are a bit bright, but cozy enough. Service was good and fast. Will definitely come back!!
I had the beef salad which was bento-sized but spot on. The staff was super friendly, and the joint looked very clean. It's a very SMALL place, however, with limited seating. You can find cheaper parking behind Arts at Mark's Garage, and walk over a block. I'll go back to try more orders to check for authenticity because 2 Thai women used to cook my Thai food for over a year. Stay tuned.
first time visiting Honolulu from Vancouver and was very excited to find such delicious food at this restaurant!!! its a must visit!
their curries and coconut sticky rice was delicious! staffs were very kind. strongly recommend!!!
Having lived in Thailand for 6 years, I'm so happy there is Basil Thai, the food is so authentic tasting. Great place to go when I'm missing Thai food and the staff and the owner are so nice with the customary warm Thai hospitality.

Top notch Thai food. We eat at a lot of Thai restaurants and we loved every bite! Best food on our trip!
Great little hole in the wall. Food was very tasty.
Not sure how this got such high reviews... oily and not that flavorful. Threw out our leftovers.
Worst of all, we ordered delivery and after an hour and 20 minutes, they called us to tell us they couldn't get a driver and that they would refund delivery cost but that we could pick it up. So that sucked.

Please was acceptable. Small details on cleanliness that can improve like the entrance door. Food taste was really good.
Sehr leckeres thailändisches Essen. Wir hatten das Pad Thai und die Drunken Noodles, beide Gerichte waren super. Auch das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt absolut.
Tried the curry & Khao Soi chicken. Both tasted great & were very delicious. Opened later than most restaurants in the area, which btw had less homeless & more security, which was nice to see.
Love the flavors! I just wish there was more protein added. Seems too little.
