Christmas Eve trip took us to Thai Seed for a meal with the parents. While we love Thai food, this was our first visit to Thai Seed.

The pro’s: we could make a reservation which was nice. The service was outstanding. Friendly, attentive and efficient; they were genuinely happy we were there. The food came out quick and was very tasteful. All of those reasons it was a great visits.

The cons: while most everything on our visit was really good, the only two things we weren’t thrilled with was (1) for the price, the portion sizes were definitely on the small side. The $15 dinner portion appeared more like a $10 lunch portion. (2) the lighting and ambiance just felt off. It was super bright inside and it felt more like a Chipotle restaurant than a sit-down dinner place. Don’t get me wrong, it was nice, but the decor & lightning didn’t really feel in line with the table side service.

All in all, great visit.

This place is outstanding and rightfully packed to the brim in the weekends. The authentic Thai spices that I was supposed to enjoy gave me tears. The foods absolutely delicious, affordable and the place is neat and clean . The open kitchen and wine bar are too cute. Great people are running this place, Hope they keep up.

We had a nice lunch here. The portions were just right and the food was very flavorful. We had chicken pad Thai, Panang chicken curry, and red chicken curry.

We ordered cashew nut meal and it has mushrooms and broccoli in the dish which is not listed in the items on the menu. We do not like mushrooms and were compelled to dispose of the dish. Your order should not have items not on the description added

Our first time here, this is now our favorite Thai restaurant in the area. Delicious food and attentive friendly service. We ordered Thai dumplings, Panang Curry with chicken, and Pad Khee Mao ("Drunken Noodles") with shrimp. Each bite of each dish was a satisfying blend of wonderful flavors and textures. We will be back soon to go through more items on the menu.

Chicken satay did not have much flavor, peanut sauce was very mild. Pad Thai was very sweet and shrimp were soft, did not taste super fresh. Green curry was mild but very good.

First meal at this restaurant and we could not have been more pleased. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient. The food was the best Thai food we’ve had in Sarasota and we have eaten at several other Thai restaurants. The owner.Sorn (San) came to our table and spoke with us and thanked us for dining at his restaurant and gave us great information on the meals and how they were prepared. Can’t wait for another visit!

I love this place but my dish was so mild that it was a little bitter. The cooking was excellent, it was just mild enough for a British tourist. That could be a huge plus for you.

I found this hidden gem and im a very happy! They are super friendly, the food is extremely yummy and the thai iced tea is some of the best ive had! They are great at customizing the options for my meals ! Im greeted with smiles from all the staff and i leave with smiles from all the staff! I will continue to come here on a regular basis!

Shhhh! don't tell anyone

We regularly frequent Thai Seed and always sit outside. There are probably 30 restaurants, perhaps more, within a mile of this one, but this is where we go again and again. I am pretty good at making fresh and healthful food that tastes good, and I can support our spice and pepper tastes with a decent garden. This is where we always go when we want to eat the kind of food we enjoy and I want a break from cooking. The area where we live is full of restaurants where the menu stars are dishes like steak that is blackened then cooked with butter on top of it. If that’s your thing, you won’t have a hard time finding somewhere to eat. It will be hard choosing among the many options. . . . no judgement. It just is not what we like, and the meat itself is not the problem. We just like our food to be well spiced, fresh, and light. My husband generally orders garlic beef with broccoli, and the Thai salad with grilled beef on it is delicious. At the same time, these meals are light, and not because they are small portions.

It is hot as Hades here, and we can actually ride our bikes to this restaurant in the 90° heat, have a wonderful lunch, and ride back home afterwards. You can’t do that after eating a buttered strip steak with a side of potatoes or lobster bisque.

In any case, I am writing this review to note that, for the first time, I braved going to a restaurant on Mother’s Day. My husband and I treated our mothers and his father to dinner at Thai Seed. Granted, we went there at 4 o’clock to beat the crowd because there is limited seating outside and we only sit outside. The most important point, however, is that the food was exactly the same in terms of quality that it is when we show up on Saturday afternoons. If you have never tried Thai food, take a chance. Your dinner does not have to be drowned in butter and sugar in order to be delicious. If you pick the right spot, the people who prepare it for you will be people for whom quality food is their passion. If you try it here, you will see the same wonderful hosts. They will treat you like friends, remember what makes you happy, and always make you feel welcome – even on the busiest restaurant day of the year.

This is far and away the best Thai food in the greater Sarasota area! We absolutely love coming here!

Great experience. The food is so fresh and well made. One of my favorites was the papaya salad...just the right amount of acidity and sweetness. The wait staff are lovely.

I have eaten there once a month at least since they open. I never had a bad meal or a bad experience.

The food is pretty good, but not worth the wait and poor service. Our order was set for 645 and we waited ~25mins past that (and this was the 2nd time the same situation happened; we wanted to give them another chance). I asked a couple times about wait time and was dismissed, with an air of indifference. I would’ve liked this to be my go to spot, but we won’t be coming back.

My favorite thai place in sarasota 👌👌👌

The tom Yum soup and vegetable roll were very good. The pad thai was inedible-it was a gloppy mess of no flavored sauce drowning the noodles that we had to send back. The pad se ew was just okay. The pad paw gray was decent. But if you can't get pad thai right in a thai place, you should be ashamed.

We asked for our writer's recommendation on how to best order our food and he picked amazing dishes for us to try. I recommend the seafood pad see ew and my girlfriend had excellent curry. Our waiter was amazing and also told us about events going on in the area. I would love to come here again and try the Roasted duck special they had photos of on the wall.

Place and food was good for the most part. We were a party of 6 and ordered two appetizers, drinks, and food. Ordered chicken teriyaki and it was horrible. Took one bite and the chicken had no flavor. Asked for something else in its place and the server said she couldn't replace it with something else because we ate half when only one bite of chicken was taken. One bite! Horrible and because of that it will get 1 star and we will never return. My kid left hungry with nothing to eat. Ended up having to order from Tijuana flats for her next door so she could eat a meal.

Thai Seed is one of my wife and I favorite restaurants to visit. The food is always delicious and the owners and amazing !

I’m not one to leave reviews but Thai Seed deserves the positive feedback. I was sold after my first bite. While a little on the pricier side (but what isn’t, these days?), it is well worth it because of its quality and consistency, the large portion sizes (I can usually get 2 meals out of my noodle dish), and the prompt service. I’ve only done takeout, but the restaurant is cutely decorated, clean, and I’m always immediately greeted when I walk in. My favorite dish is the pad see ew but I look forward to trying more dishes.

Food was very flavorful and the staff were great. The panang curry came with broccoli which I've never encountered before, and hopefully don't run into again. The chicken and curry were delicious though.

Did a take out order of the fried snapper dish it was very good and tasty. The kids loved it. Of course I had to make sure there weren’t bones but loved it. I had ginger sauce on it and it came with vegetables. I wish they had a bit more veggies because that’s what makes the dish so nice. Was filled but wished I had more veggies. Maybe you get more if you dine in. Very good otherwise.

Found Thai seed off another FB review, so went and tried it out. It’s hard to find really good food, let alone authentic Thai anywhere, and believe this place nailed it. Everything was delicious. The Thai Seed Special Fried rice has so much flavor, the Pad Woonsen as well. The people whom work there are extremely nice. Highly recommend this place. We will be back!

Great meal, we shared a red chicken curry and a pork stir fry with basil. Very authentic but did need some additional chilli. We will definitely go back again. Very capable of dealing with our requirement of gluten free meals.

As I'm writing this review the google search is listing it as temporarily closed.
This is no wonder. This place serves very badly prepared food with no taste whatsoever.
The worst part is that the owner argues that it is original Thai food. The ladies in the kitchen absolutely didn't no what they were doing. The sauces were watery and looked like they were just added together from very subpar ingredients then heated up. I have eaten all over Asia, and despite what this guys says, this food is a very poor imitation of thai food if it could be called that.

Great fresh Thai food

Best Thai food in town! Clean modern restaurant with open kitchen run by a real Thai family. Pad see ew was excellent, very fresh with a delicious sauce. Green curry is also a favorite here. They offer both lunch and dinner sizes. Prices are a little high but we’ll worth it.

I got the tofu Pad Woon Sen. This is a hard dish to find. I was a little disappointed that it wasn't as good as Pad Woon Sen as restaurants in Venice. Maybe I wasn't as hungry. But it was still good enough. The beer on the other hand, although imported, didn't compliment the food. (Imported German beer is much better!)
The service is wonderful! I got a very attentive & nice waiter. My table was next to the window (a big deal when I don't get out much).
Unfortunately, there's no delivery from the restaurant.
Update: I went for a second visit with a friend. I got Pad Woon Sen again with Tofu & Vegetables. My friend was impressed with his dish. We both tried the Saporro beer, which was better than the other choices. This is a great restaurant with great food & customer service!

Authentic Thai food - fresh

The best Thai food spot in Sarasota that I have found so fa. I have been multiple times and always find the food consistently fresh and wonderfully made. Atmosphere is always friendly and inviting. Service is outstanding, they’ve remembered me by name and they are always willing to make anything vegan!

Just came back from a very satisfying lunch at Thai Seed. We ordered the whole fried snapper with basil sauce, thai green curry tofu, seafood fried rice, and a serving of tom yum soup. The vegetables were all very fresh and cooked just right, the sauces were very flavorful, and for the seafood fried rice, there was actually real shrimp, squid and scallops to be found. We paid $92 (including tip) for 2 people. While not cheap, it was good quality food. The place is very clean ( toilets also very clean) and the servers very friendly.

My family and I were starving, and even in that state couldn’t Eat what we were served here. These reviews were so promising and I’m very confused as I am well versed in authentic good Thai ! Crispy crunchy rice, tasteless crab Rangoon, 15$ for 6 bland shrimp app, veggie spring rolls were editable,rubber chicken with a horrible aftertaste chicken teriyaki ( we felt that was a safe plate) nope! The worst was the pad Thai beef noodles when it arrived at the table the stench was so off putting we initially thought it must be bad meat or something, ( smelled like rotten eggs and something unidentifiable, but worse) I tasted a small bite in hopes the taste would make up for the smell…… had to spit that out it was revolting at best something had gone terribly wrong there…….. steamed vegetables send save for my twin toddlers….. nope 👎🏻 crunchy. So sad we love Thai!!! Best of luck to those who are brave enough to try this place !

We ordered worst wonton soup ever,main meal red curry came w ultra small serving of rice ( we have been to many,many thai restaurants )
After complaining about that we got xtra rice which we have been charge extra.

Wow, words cannot express my delight in finding this Thai restaurant! I have gone to and reviewed other local Thai restaurants but this one gets the top prize! I lived in Thailand for 13 years so I do know Thai food and what it should taste like and this is the best here. We are still only doing take-out at this point so my pictures aren't as nice as they would be inside but we'll be back for sure - soon!!! 😊

The food here is high quality and the service is excellent! We found this place while visiting the area and had lunch there at least 3 times a week for the month we were staying in Sarasota. The food was so good. Even more important, we felt great after eating it, no food hangover like we get at a lot of restaurants. We even got it to go a couple of times and had a picnic lunch on the Beach with it. I highly recommend this place.

The curry sauce was too tick and so condimented that all of us needed to go to bathroom and feel discomfort, crambs. We are used to condiments and heavy food.

I hate to give bad reviews but my experience was not consistent with other reviews in regards to the taste & flavor of the dishes. Food was barely adequate at best. We were there based on so many rave reviews and we are solely disappointed.

Holy smokes this place is delicious. To start the open kitchen / floor plan is super inviting. The service was quick and attentive. The food came out fast, fresh and hot. The Thai dumplings are probably the best dumplings in the state. The Tom Yum is authentic. The fresh rolls were crisp. My only critique is that the Thai hot could be spicier, but they provide you with chili powder / chili oil / Sriracha. Definitely will be back here all of the time. Thank God there is finally an amazing Thai off university. DONT HESITATE GOOOO!!!

We showed up when they opened at 4:30. The place is very clean and pleasant. Sometimes restaurants smell like disinfectant when you show up early, Thai Seed does not. I had a (large) Steinlager in a frosted Steinlager glass. My wife loves Noodle bowls and said the "N2. Pork or Beef Noodle Soup" was the best she's had. I had "T9. Pad Thai", which was very good. For many of the meals you can choose beef, chicken, veggie - and also a spice level from 1-4. The servings are large. We were hungry and still brought a lot home. The styrofoam soup containers are huge, so we'll try take out.

I loved everything about this experience. There was no wait to be seated on a Friday night, but they were still busy. The decor on the walls is unique. All staff members that I encountered were very friendly. The service was attentive, and the order came out quickly. Most importantly, the food was scrumptious. Ordering the choice of protein is so easy for almost every entree here - so vegetarian friendly! One thing that I really appreciate about Thai Seed is how they do not make the tofu cubes with a spongey texture like some other Thai places do. The tom yum noodle soup, red curry fried rice, and all their curries were so flavorful, plus plenty of leftovers to take home. So pleased to have a great Thai place nearby!

I always stop here when I am in the area. I love their Panang Curry with tofu. The owners are always so friendly.

I have tried multiple times to eat here but their hours say 2:45 and again today at 230 they are closed. Horrible business plan, you have to be open for people to eat in your establishment when your hours of operation say you are open. I would not normally push it so close to closing time but do not get lunch break until that time.

Had the veggie green curry : thin, watery, bland "soup" with rock hard, tasteless veggies. Could easily make a better one at home with store bought sauce.

Loved the food! Had the Chicken Satay with super good peanut sauce and loved the side veggies with the sweet vinegar sauce. The red curry dish was also excellent. The perfect lunch size meal - no leftovers and absolutely delicious!

I absolutely LOVE this restaurant! The owner and staff are so friendly and accommodating and perceptive! The food is stunning and FRESH! The sauces are legit! I can’t say enough good things! MUST TRY!

Stopped in for a late lunch while running errands. Service was fast, friendly and had great timing. Food was also fast, hot and tasty. The place was also very clean.

We shared two dishes, the pad thai dish was a tad sweet for my tastes but I tempered with ground hot pepper, and was tasty overall. The pad kaprow was the preferred dish for the two of us as it was more savory and flavorful. Definitely work a return trip to try some other dishes.

Excellent Thai food, extraordinarily friendly and attentive service, great ambiance. I strongly recommend Thai Seed if you're craving Thai food. My Pad Thai was excellent: fresh tasting, hot, delicious chicken (not gross previously frozen chunks), fresh/crunchy vegetables, citrusy-peanuty flavor. Yum. My dining partner's noodle soup was awesome; this was definitely a memorable soup. The broth had a deep richness that you just don't find in too many places. The bowl was filled with well seasoned beef and other goodies. Thai Seed is an excellent option if you're looking for Thai food.

We've eaten here often. The food is good, the service is excellent, and it's very clean. That being said...the prices are unreasonable and undoable. My husband and I went there recently for lunch...$60.!! We didn't eat anything near worth this amount of money - crazy. Won't be going again.

This place is outstanding and rightfully packed to the brim in the weekends. The authentic Thai spices that I was supposed to enjoy gave me tears. The foods absolutely delicious, affordable and the place is neat and clean . The open kitchen and wine bar are too cute. Great people are running this place, Hope they keep up.

I just ate the drunken noodle- Pad Kee Mao and it was delicious! The noodles and veggies were cooked perfectly and it was super tastey!

The food is pretty good and would normally get 4 stars. We usually get takeout but decided to eat in for a change. I ordered Green Curry and it was good but when I asked for a bit more rice, I was told I had to order another side. Seriously? Rice is sold by the ton. As a comparison, Bangkok Thai in Sarasota has a server with a giant bowl of rice refilling anyone who wants it.

I have no idea what all the hyped reviews were about. The food was terrible and when I told the server, he was argumentative before telling me himself that it's "Americanized" Thai. Not authentic and definitely not good. I paid then left and won't be back.

This place serves up DAMN GOOD THAI FOOD.... had the Tom Coconut Lemongrass soup AND RED CURRY fried rice..... the Panaang Curry was fine quality.... really outstanding Thai

Great flavor and decent amount of food. A little high on the price for what you get. But its located in a nice area. Ordered the Rad Na and Pad See Ew. Both disbes were very flavorful and great.

Christmas Eve trip took us to Thai Seed for a meal with the parents. While we love Thai food, this was our first visit to Thai Seed.

The pro’s: we could make a reservation which was nice. The service was outstanding. Friendly, attentive and efficient; they were genuinely happy we were there. The food came out quick and was very tasteful. All of those reasons it was a great visits.

The cons: while most everything on our visit was really good, the only two things we weren’t thrilled with was (1) for the price, the portion sizes were definitely on the small side. The $15 dinner portion appeared more like a $10 lunch portion. (2) the lighting and ambiance just felt off. It was super bright inside and it felt more like a Chipotle restaurant than a sit-down dinner place. Don’t get me wrong, it was nice, but the decor & lightning didn’t really feel in line with the table side service.

All in all, great visit.

Tried ordering online, it said three times my order didn't go through and "don't worry, you weren't charged". Decided because I wasted 15 minutes this establishment wasn't worth the hassle, but my girlfriend still wanted to eat here, so she ordered just her food. Lo and Behold, I get to the restaurant, and they have charged me for and made the full almost 50$ order the website said never went through. When I asked calmly about this, I was met with "We can charge you because we made the food." So of course, I left in a very bad mood and what should have been a simple lunch turned into a whole ordeal. Seriously, why open a business if you can't do simple customer service?

Great Thai food!!! Flavors are on point! We try to eat something different every time, and it's all good. My kids are obsessed with the chicken noodle soup and pork Dumplings. Overall great spot to eat and cannot go wrong with any item on the menu.

Best thai food in the area (including tampa) imo. Great friendly service and excellent dishes. Highly suggest.

Although a bit pricier than normal, the food quality and service justify the cost. The interior of the restaurant is also incredibly clean, probably one of the nicest Thai restaurants you’ll ever walk into. Everything we ordered was piping hot and fresh, can’t wait to go back and try more.

My first time here and I will never go back. They delivered me the wrong order the first time the second time they brought me something that was supposed to be salad but it was nothing but chicken on top of one piece of lettuce.

I have eaten a lot of Thai food in my life, lived there for 10 years. I had hope since this place has mostly Thai staff working, however, this restaurant served me the most underwhelming and bland food. Red curry fried rice was clumpy and no flavor. Pad se ew was tolerable but no flavor.
Payed 40 dollars for 2 dishes and 1 drink.

One of the most authentic type places I’ve tasted since moving here from Chicago! We have ordered many dishes including Pad Thai, pad se ew, curry, fried rice. All were delicious and very very flavorful. The staff is super nice and the restaurant is very clean. Will definitely be adding this to our list of regular restaurants to come to.

Wish I’d found this place earlier . Very clean, open area with top notch service and food. I can’t imagine anybody being disappointed here.

One of the best Thai restaurants I’ve found.

Atmosphere- restaurant looks small from the outside but is actually deceptively spacious in the inside. Modern architecture with a vaulted industrial ceiling. Doesn’t feel like an Asian restaurant but tasteful nonetheless.

Service- very attentive and friendly staff. Food was prepared fresh and timely.

Food and Drink- I had the fresh rolls and pad ke mao. Very good portion, well prepared, and very tasty. I asked for extra hot and the noodles didn’t disappoint.

Cost- a tad pricey at $27 for the appetizer, entree, and tea but well worth it.
