We ordered the moriwase sashimi, rainbow roll and a miso soup. Worth the Uber :-)

I strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for excellent food, service, and ambiance. I had the Red Curry with Jasmine rice, and I was so impressed. The aroma and flavor were so good. Not just that, the portion was huge with so many vegetables and mushrooms! Our server was so polite and gave good recommendations as well. This place is really value for money. It's evident they care about what they do.

My uncle took us to this restaurant and let me tell you it is vegetarian friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. We ate so much and this has become our family’s favorite restaurant my cousin who lives in Miami visit it often and when I’m traveling again I will be visiting too. It is a must try.

Dropped in for dinner and we almost overlooked this place—so glad we didn’t! Our waitress was on point and helpful with what to choose to eat. The sushi’s and Nigiri are top grade /tasty/amazing. They have lots of vegan items on the menu. Plenty of sake options and mixed drinks/beer to choose from. Parking is on the street (challenge) They have a few places to park as well -ask them for info. You need a reservation. Indoor and outdoor (in a small private patio) seating.

UPDATE: Well, consistency as I mentioned! I had come back several times since my first review. Now they are celebrating 12 years with 12 items at $12. We had the Crunchy Sushi, the Orange Chicken, and what we considered the star, the Japanese Curry Dumplings, simply FANTASTIC! And do not leave without trying the Coconut Haupia! Check the photos.

The food was AMAZING! They also had Specials because it was their Anniversary. I can't wait to go there again!

Top favorite place to eat of all time. They have the best of the best of Asian flavors.

Sushi- delicious. Not too over-seasoned with the rice. Perfect flavor and thickness of the rice with quality fish.

Vietnamese inspired egg rolls get serve with actual herbs! Feels more authentic and yet exquisite quality.

Chef is creative here but rotates some of the menu. All the best of the Asian flavors of Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese. I have never seen such good execution of such a wide variety of dishes.

The Java steak is delicious and very rich.

Kalbi is marinated and charred just like Korean BBQ in Koreatown LA.

They make amazing cocktails and have a fantastic happy hour.

The best deal is on Tuesday for dinner you can get some of the sushi rolls for only $10 each without sacrificing any quality. Hamachi roll and Rainbow roll are honestly better than most of the sushi places I've been to all over south Florida.

I eat here just about once a week on Tuesday for the best deal.

My wife and I are becoming regulars here. We’ve probably been to 30 sushi restaurants in Miami and this one has become our favorite. We’ve never ordered anything that wasn’t amazing. Drinks and staff’s service are top notch as well.

If I had the option I would give 6 stars. My husband and I have been at pretty much all the sushi restaurants in Miami, including Michelin stars ones and this one we consider one of the best places taking in consideration service, menu variety, taste, freshness, and convenience. We are there pretty much every week and will keep coming back. It has a different DNA and vibe, more cozy, specially for being in Miami. We usually do a big plate with a mix of nigiri and sashimi, salmon torched and eel, Ikura and Massago and edamame to start. Delicious!!!
To drink we have a Mexican mule and Lychee Dreams - a bit spicy and unique, just wonderful.

I wouldn’t miss it and give it a try.

Great feeling and experience!

We ordered 4 rolls and the KFC bites. The dragon and NY rolls were our favorites. We also had the yuba and jalapeño himachi rolls because they were highly recommended however, they were not our favorite. They're not the traditional flavors that you would expect in sushi rolls. Not bad but not the best I've had. Service was fantastic though. The smokey bandit cocktail was an amazing margarita. Highly recommend going for their Tuesday Maki roll specials.

Best Sushi for next price in Miami

First, the food is delicious. But second, the service is above and beyond. We ordered takeout and our DoorDash guy never showed up. They remade all the food and the owner herself drove it to our house. So thoughtful and kind - we are Shokudo patrons for life.

My wife and I come here once a week and sit at the sushi bar. Perfect neighborhood spot to have some good food and enjoy a night with your better half. Crunchy sushi is always a must have. Noteworthy rolls, Blue Crab, Shokudo and Jalapeño Hamachi.

Omg the food was really bad, In 5 seconds we barely ordered the appetizers, they brought them to the table, they had them pre-made and stored in a refrigerator, I thought it won't be that bad and I ate it, end of story it poisoned us and we vomited all night

One of the best hidden gems in Miami! It’s a bit off the beaten path, so there’s not so many people and crowds. The food is out of this world. Best tuna crispy rice I’ve EVER had, and my husband said the dragon roll was the 2nd best roll he’s ever had in his entire life. Which is saying a LOT!! And the rolls were super affordable. We also loved the orange chicken, the hamachi, and the desserts. Highly recommend this place to anyone in the area!!

Was a slow evening. Server seemed a bit put off that we showed up. Specialty drink menu provided not available due to lack of ingredients. Despite being told twice they have a fully stocked bar. (Old fashioned lacked something)

Pretty good! The poke salad was definitely the standout! The pad Thai was definitely disappointing (dry chicken) but everything else was tasty! Got a reservation on the day of (Saturday night). I would come back for the poke salad.

Amazing! We were looking for somewhere to have dinner and we are so glad we found this place! I’ve driven passed it many times and will from now on be stopping here more often. Happy hour specials are extremely well priced (especially for what we typically pay in Miami). We had the shishito peppers, edamame, hamachi jalapeño, vegetable gyoza, orange chicken, NY Spicy Tuna, and finished off with the Thai doughnuts. Everything, and I mean everything, was a hit. Atmosphere picked up later in the night (was a Sunday) and I can see it be a pretty lively place. Outdoor area looks nice which I’ll def be checking out when we hit “winter”. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

This restaurant has good vibes. Staff is very friendly and supportive. They do have some vegetarian options as well. We ordered vegetarian dumplings, Pad Thai and Jalapeño Sushi roll(vegetarian). For us food was okay in taste. But I gave 4 star rating because of their generosity and service and of course ambience.

Decent happy hour but not really much of a value. We had a large group and just ordered a bunch of items. Had a bite or two of a lot of different items and they were mostly pretty tasty. Just not that cheap per dish. The restaurant was pretty empty for most of the evening so that was kind of a red flag but we had a good time.

I love this restaurant! My husband and I have been here 3 times and the food is always delicious, great service as well. It’s become one of our regular spots for sure. As a vegan, I would highly recommend the kale ramen and the orange tofu!

I've been on a quest for best Miami Ramen for a while and though I do have a favorite place, I believe I haven't found it yet. Came here looking for that Ramen and this was actually the worst Ramen l've ever tried in my life. I guess since they're a sushi place, their specialty is sushi or else but why have this iter in your menu and not make it at least decent.
First of all, the broth had no depth or even that much flavor, kinda bland. I can say the same thing about the three small pieces of pork belly that had no flavor at all and for $18, one would expect a little more than a mediocre "soup" if that. I ate this because I was really hungry and it was in front of me so what choice did I have. The service was actually really good and waiter was friendly and attentive. I can only rate them for the Ramen, maybe their sushi is good and that's why they have a 4 star rating on Yelp but who knows, the place only had one customer on the countertop and two tables occupied and I was one of them.
Anyway, after this I realize that my quest for that Ramen continues for indefinite time, until then, don't bother ordering their Ramen.

The food is always great but what I love is the people that work there. It’s always the same staff and service is always on point.

The food and drinks in this restaurant is well above your average Asian casual dining. The prices are a little over casual but it is more than reasonable for the type of deliciousness in every bite and sip .
We love coming here for special occasions, birthdays, Mother’s Day etc..
The back yard sitting is always pleasant and the staff is extremely efficient and friendly, it feels like a neighborhood favorite every time we are here !

My mom and I had an amazing experience here last night. We have been once before and both times the service was exceptional and food delicious. We had Roxanne was our waitress last night and she was great. So accommodating and just an overall sweet woman. The hand rolls were phenomenal and the sushi was very good quality. So yummy.

It is a decent restaurant that is worth going to for happy hour. A nice ambiance and decent prices. I tried a few things from the happy hour menu, and the most impressive was the Salmon Nigiri. The sushi itself felt like it had too much rice, akin to that of publix. The shisinto peppers were very good. I tried the popcorn fish since the waitress recommended it. However, it tasted like your basic fish sticks. The Java steak was an interesting plate. The meat had a very vingear-like taste, similar to the sliced meat served in Vietnamese salad dishes. Overall I would say this place is just ok. I am in no rush to return but if I am in the area during happy hour I would be sure to grab a few bites

The host (or person in charge of the take outs) is really mean, they should do something about it, nobody wants to go to a place where they don't feel welcome...and especially when you invest part of your money there. Terrible service and vibes.

Amazing food! I've been able to try multiple appetizers and entrees through the years and nothing disappoints.

Been going here for years and it's reliably excellent. If it's nice out, sit out back for a relaxing atmosphere. Happy hour has really good deals too.

2023 update: losing a few points. Their above-average traditional Old Fashioned is no longer on the Happy Hour menu. The Happy Hour menu does not apply on "major holidays", which apparently includes President's Day?? That's a major holiday? And, the best dessert they had was a banana tempura, and that has been discontinued. 😮‍💨

Mediocre quality and even more mediocre service.

This is my favorite place to eat sushi in Miami.

I had a reservation for 7:30 pm. When we arrived, the establishment was fairly empty. Our server took our drink orders, came back five minutes later, took our appetizer order, and never came back. After receiving out appetizers, we ate them, waited about 15 minutes, then tried to see if our waiter would come over. He was busy tending to other tables that just arrived, which is reasonable as it had gotten busy, but he seemed to have forgotten about us. I am very understanding as my partner is in the industry, and it was Valentines Day so it was expected to have to wait at some point. However, after about 30 minutes of waiting, I decided to try to get the waiter’s attention. After a few minutes of waiting, I was finally able to get his attention, and he said he would be right with me after dropping off drinks. He proceeded to drop off drinks and then walked right past me. I then waited another 10-15 minutes for him to finally come to our table, in which at this point I was over it and wanted to go somewhere else to eat to actually eat dinner. He had the audacity to ask if we wanted dessert, when we didn’t even get a chance to order entrees. We tipped the standard 20% but had it been a regular day, he would’ve received little to nothing because the service just wasn’t it. The little of appetizers we got to try were delicious though, I am just sad I did not get to try an entree because of the situation.
And don’t get me wrong, I completely understand it was a “holiday” that tends to be busy, but this restaurant is usually closed on Tuesdays, meaning they decided to open JUST for Valentine’s Day. I understand the extra revenue, but the planning itself just wasn’t there. And to top it off, our bill was pretty high and we would’ve loved to spend more had we actually been serviced.
In my opinion, the restaurant itself should have planned better and actually staffed more servers or limit it to reservations only, or at least done something else to support staff. Clearly this was not the case, and they should’ve just remained closed if this is the service they were going to administer.

One of my favorite Japanese restaurants in town. Been coming here for years, mostly because I’m obsessed with the spicy tuna roll, Orange chicken and the ice cold beer.

The food quality is superb, the cooks do a great job of putting out consistently delicious and well presented food.

My only complaints are the lack of parking, and on busy nights it can feel a little claustrophobic. But if you come on off hours, you are in for a treat.
