The inspiration behind Land of Thai Restaurant has been inspired from our belief of the distinctive delicious flavors of Thai food. We are pleased to take part in sharing Thai cuisine so it may be appreciated around the world. We trust our customers will enjoy the genuine taste of authentic Thai fine dining. Chef EN believes it is all about the spices as they can be healing and have been known to extend life.
One of the best Thai restaurants we’ve ever experienced. Anywhere. The food is fresh, delicious and generously presented. Kane and Jolie will welcome you and treat you well. Great vegetarian and vegan options! You’ll want to take home more dishes to try!
We were so happy to find this place until our 4th visit when we both got food poisoning. We had lunch in a slow weekday and I guess they thought why bother making fresh. Both our dishes (Chicken Pad Thai and beef Pad See Ew - not sure of spelling) had an “off” slightly fishy taste we hadn’t experienced with the same dishes before. We both felt so sick after that neither of us has felt like eating Thai food at all in the 8 months since which has been a major bummer. So, fair warning!
WOW! My partner said that out loud after his first bite (of the Tiger Tear Beef), and my veggie peanut-sauce dish (vegetarian) was AMAZING! The flavors were truly phenomenal. The mango juice was refreshing, the spring rolls were simple but yummy, and the fried ice cream was a great treat to top it all off. They could've used a second server so that tables were waited on more regularly, but everyone was kind and working hard, and we can't wait to go back!
Great food, fresh and flavorful. I had the drunken noodle with crispy duck. Hubby had the basil fried rice with crispy chicken. The staff was pleasant. Happy that we dined here.
The food is always fresh and delicious! I have food allergies and I’ve never had an issue here. They are very good about gluten free options and are kid friendly. We order take out from her and dine in about the same amount and have always been very pleased with the service. We love Land of Thai!
This restaurant is roomy. Tables are not close and the place is spotless. The food we ordered came quickly and was beautifully prepared. Steamed pork dumplings were starters. Delicate pockets with a perfect, light dipping sauce. All veggies were fresh, bright and beautiful to look at. My friend ordered ginger chicken. It was absolutely delicious. I ordered curried, soft shell crab. It too was fabulous! Both dishes came with sautéed vegetables and the sauces were individually prepared, specific for each main course. No ubiquitous brown sauce here. The menu described each dish thoroughly, so it was easy to understand and choose a meal. After tasting both meals, I decided that I needed to return often in order to try more dishes. They all sounded so good. I plan to order curried duck next time, though ginger chicken calls to me still. This restaurant is wonderful! The ambiance is basic and unadorned, but spotless, as I said earlier. Staff are very eager to please.
Oh my goodness the food is incredible!!! I'm kinda a curry lover but this is by far the best. My husband picked this up for takeout on valentines day. It was our first time trying their food. I didn't get my hopes up too high because it was take out but wow!!! More than pleasantly surprised. My photo is actually off my left overs the next day because I ate it so fast when he got home with it that I over ate lol. My husband, whose usually a grump with new people, said 3x how nice she kind they were while he waited for the food to finish cooking. The prices are so reasonable. I got the duck curry and out was $28. Can't wait to try other things off their menu. The only thing i wish they had on the menu was a cantonese noodle for some kind of curry soup.
Some big changes here:
They got rid of the lunch menu, so now it’s a really expensive lunch (dinner!) option.
Today, it’s frigid outside. When I pulled in the parking lot at 12:15, there was no other car. I knew that was a bad sign.
When I walked in, they were wearing heavy winter coats. They had the heat and lights off in the restaurant. Yet, it’s nearly February, and they have a Christmas Tree and decorations up and lit.
There was this extremely slow, irritating instrumental elevator music playing that nearly put me to sleep.
The women all had frowns, not a single smile. In fact, the older one who came out from the kitchen actually made nasty faces.
Food was great.
Come here if you want to pay $25 to eat rice for lunch in an ice box with nasty service!
My all time favorite meal is the drunken noodles from land of thai. Best meal in the world.

The dishes at this Thai restaurant are some of the best I have ever had at any Thai restaurant - and I have eaten Thai food all over the world. It’s fresh, bright well prepared and presented, spiced just right and really amazing for such a small town in CT!
Great food, fresh and flavorful. I had the drunken noodle with crispy duck. Hubby had the basil fried rice with crispy chicken. The staff was pleasant. Happy that we dined here.
Possibly the best Thai restaurant in the state of CT & lots of vegan options is a major plus

Amazing thai food become our regular place
Best pineapple fried rice i’ve had.
Well prepared and attractive food, lovely wait staff and never a wait.

Orange chicken was very good. Taste was just right and not over whelming.
Stopped by for takeout food. The food was excellent. By far, the best Thai food in our local area (Clinton, Westbrook, Madison, and Guilford).
This is now the fourth time I’ve come to Land of Thai and it is by far one of the best Thai places in Connecticut. The food has been consistent and great every time. The service and staff are excellent. I would highly recommend coming here if you enjoy Thai.
Great Thai food, I particularly like the hot basil chicken and the tom yung gai soup.
So easy to miss this place--right across from Goodwill in Clinton. Best Drunken Noodles I've ever had. Loads of crisp veggies. Nice, clean place with great food.
The food is absolutely delicious! I honestly can't stop ordering it because its that good. There is a language barrier however, and if you order over the phone, you got to be very very clear. To a point that is just ridiculous. Nevertheless, the place is super clean and friendly.
Fast! Excellent flavors. I had eggplant veggies, and it was perfectly cooked nut on the salty side. My friend had Pad Thai, which was excellent. We shared the veggie dumplings, which were crisp outside and soft and creamy inside!
Lived here for seven years and JUST tried this restaurant. The food is terrific; distinctive dishes well prepared. Best Thai restaurant we have ever had!! Only regret is that it took us so long to try it!
Authentic, Authentic, Authentic! The best Lap/Larb I have had in along while! My boyfriend, I suggested as he wanted a noodle, I suggested Pad Thai, and I tasted 1 simple bite, so Authentic, and the taste of homemade flavors, fish sauce and the Authenticy. So friendly, I can't wait to Taste more dishes to please my palate and Lao, Thai Flavors!
My only complaint is that if this is your first experience with Thai food, everything else will be a disappointment. I'm working my way through the menu and have found everything to be fresh, tasty and beautifully presented.
We started eating at Land of Thai recently and now we can't stop! Thai Cuisine is well-known as one of the best in the world, and the Land of Thai restaurant really brings that home to the Connecticut Shoreline (Clinton). Food quality just defines freshness and perfectly balanced spicing. Unfortunately, dinner conversation is mostly about how good everything is! Owners are so elegant and accommodating. My goal is to try everything on the menu. Vegetables are perfectly cooked and could not taste fresher. The Pad Thai classic is one of the best I have ever had... You leave feeling healthy and refreshed. Everything on the menu is a wonderful new experience. Thank you (owners) for doing such a great job!
The food I ordered for delivery had a large piece of plastic and looked like it was picked up from the floor. When I called to inform them they hung up on me. My first order was ok. This was disgusting
Excellent Thai!
Great Local Thai Restaurant
Wonderful meal with friendly service.
First time I’d ordered takeout for myself. I had been craving green curry which was good but not the same as other green curry I’ve had. Spring rolls & chicken satay were excellent
First time here. We got the spring rolls, two noodle dishes and the pineapple fried rice. Everything was delicious and the service was friendly. We’ll definitely be back to try more dishes.
Amazing food and service! Big portions enough to share.
It was an amazing experience! The food was delicious and the service was super respectful! My only complaint would be that a took a little longer than expected, but that was not a biggie!!! The atmosphere was so calm and the restaurant itself was very clean. Highly recommend stopping by here when u have the chance!!!
真心不错,味道做的蛮好的。我点的padthai curry duck 味道都很棒 。同作为餐馆的我们 觉得要👍
My fiance and I were looking for a dinner after spending the afternoon walking on the beach at Hammonasset. We chose Land of Thai because we love Thai food, and thought that it would be good to get a little bit away from all of the hustle and bustle. The food was beautifully presented and was delicious. She had the massaman curry with chicken, and I wanted something light, so I got the house salad with chicken satay. They were both excellent. The restaurant is kind of small, but clean and smartly decorated.
Twice the food has been rather bland with slightly overcooked chicken. You probably wouldn't guess this was Thai food since it lacks the spices and flavor of good Thai food. Based on what you get, it seems overpriced. It's ready so quickly that it seems like it's pre-made and assembled upon ordering. Disappointed.
Delicious highly recommend
We highly recommend! We brought a 3 year old and the server was so kind, friendly and accommodating. We had a gluten free pad Thai dish. We also had yummy drunken noodles with a little kick. Everything came out so quickly and we are very happy. The environment is clean, homey and pleasant.
I’ve been enjoying Thai food for most of my life ( I’m 64), and on a friend’s recommendation my wife and I went to Land Of Thai in Clinton last evening .
I can’t say enough good things about the freshness , preparation and taste of our food .
We had standard Thai dishes : pad Thai , vegetable dumplings , fried tofu . They were all exquisitely prepared and the taste was amazing .
The service and pleasant attitudes of all of the staff was genuine and appreciated. The restaurant space is simple but welcoming and very clean . Perhaps some traditional music in the background would be one added suggestion to complete the experience .
We are going back for sure and will spread the word. It’s better than any Thai food I’ve had the New Haven.
Enjoy !
I'd skip the pad thai. Very basic here, lacking flavor and color. They don't seem to include the common garnish of crushed peanuts and lime wedges (let alone bean sprouts).
Pineapple fried rice was pretty tasty though, and chicken skewers were hearty.
Delicious food! Great staff!!! Can't wait to come back!
All dishes were great. Fresh veggies and proteins, terrific sauces. More than enough regarding portions and just as good as day after leftovers. Will be back for another meal.
good food and big portion for Lunch. Pleasant staff .
It gets an extra star because it's menu wasn't English! The downside they don't have English version of closed caption TV so you're watching various things of interest and you don't know what they're saying 😔 A lot of interesting menu items so it's hard to pick so I'll just have to go back and try more. I don't eat enough Thai to comment on the food appropriately so I wouldn't want to mislead you. If you like and enjoy Thai food regularly then you might want to give it a try.
Yummy but no less expensive portions available
Best Thai food around!!!
Went there for the vegan options and fried tofu tasted like fish (must have fried tofu in same oil as fish). Disappointed that the labb salad was mostly fried tofu, with some onions and small amount of iceberg lettuce on the side. Overall, the flavor profiles in the dishes were lacking any fresh ingredients -- the curry tasted like it came from a pre-packaged paste. The people working there were very friendly and sincere. It's clear they want to have a good business and are really friendly and kind. It's possible other dishes on the menu for meat eaters could be better than what we tried. We won't go there again.
Not a land at all it's actually a restaurant. Oh man the peyote is really kicking in.
Service and food were great! We were driving through the area but wish we lived closer!
Staff was friendly. Restaurant was very clean.
Food was outstanding!
We asked for a recommend since it was our first visit and we were not disappointed.
We are looking forward to next trip.
Make sure you note that they do close 2:30 to 4:00 daily for break.
Super flavorful tasty food. We were returning from Marthas Vineyards and looking for restaurant to eat. Most of the restaurants were closed because of 4th July. We chose Land of Thai. We will never forget the food. It was very tasty and not costly. Ambience was also good. I would definitely recommend the reader to try this restaurant.
Great classic Thai spot! Delicious and reasonably priced too!
First time visiting and we were impressed. Food was amazing and service was great! We will definitely will be back.
The food was good, we ordered the drunken noodles and basil fried rice. Both was good and taste was also good compared to other good thai restaurants. The boba tea which we ofdered was not very good.
Very nice dine in today, stylish seating area. The massaman curry was well presented and delicious! My friend ordered shrimp pad Thai and raved about the flavor. Service was friendly and prompt. We'll definitely return again.
I highly recommend Land of Thai. Flavor profiles of Southern Thailand especially delicious. Service excellent, atmosphere relaxing. Everyone should support this small local business.
Definitely some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had. The flavors are incredible!
The staff are very friendly and the restaurant is a gem. 100% recommend this place!
The good was on point delicious. Service was excellent. I would definitely go back and recommend it to my friends.
Stopped in for a last minute weekday lunch. Was very pleased. Great service and excellent food. Good selection of vegan dishes. I'm bringing my wife there for dinner Saturday night.
Amazing food!
First time getting take out from here.
The of Thai was just what I needed to warm up this frigid day and the woman who handed me my order was so pleasant!
Great food, easy online ordering, nice staff!
Our first time and we LOVED it! Very friendly staff!
This place has beautiful pictures of their dishes but that's not what it looks like when you get take out. Also they say they have vegan options but not that they cross contaminate your food and think fish sauce is vegan. I've never been so sick. As for the rest of our orders they didn't compare to other Thai we have had (The fried stuff taste like it was cooked in very old dirty oil) ! Called and they were so rude. Had the "not our food" attitude! Only wish upon them what they gave us. I night of being horribly sick and wasted money! Health Dept needs to visit!
We are vegan and gluten free and had an absolutely delicious meal here. It's the best thai food I've had in years!
We had quite a few dishes for a large part and all of them were tasty. We eat Thai a lot (I've been to Thailand) and this place is in the upper tier food-wise. Plus efficiently run operation. Prices are fair.
So go to eating Thai food
Best Pad Thai of CT! Can’t wait to go back and try other dishes!
Thai food is amongst some of my favorite meals. It's easy to get hyped up about the next meal out, then leave the restaurant content knowing that it was a good meal. Land of Thai, is a gem of a find. The food made me excited about taking each bite in. I wanted to overindulge with another plate. Instead, I'll be making more trips out there.
Delicious and great service :)
Crispy curry duck!
Nice clean, stylish interior. Food had good flavor and came in relatively large portions.
Doesn't say online that they close between 12 and 4, went there insanely hungry craving Thai food only to he turned away
This is one of those places where you like everything; service, cleanness, flavors, portion sizes, prices, design.... we all had a very good time in this place.
We had different things, from them our favorite was the fried pineapple rice. presentation and taste was right on point. all the other dishes were as good, is just that the rice was what made it for us.
Will be back.
I'm sure most people would like it if that is if you like gourmet style foods I'm not about that so I wasn't too impressed and it was pricey
Ate there with my wife a couple weeks ago and doing back for dinner tonight. We ordered the whole fried fish which was amazing! The fish was moist and tender with a sauce that was sweet and spicy. Also got the Tom Kar Guy (spelling) which is something I like to order at most places I go and theirs was exceptional. It was creamy and had an amazing flavor.
Excellent and the service was great! I would recommend this if you like or want to try Thai food!
Playing simple clean and new decor inside. I only had two things the coconut soup as well as vegetable spring rolls. I did not like the spring rolls but most spring rolls anywhere you go are greasy. The service was great the staff was friendly and attentive. I would definitely go back there to try some other dishes.
Coming from Hong Kong & Hawaii, i can be quite picky when it comes to asian food, im actually really surprised! We had the duck noddle soup and the tigger tear beef and they are really good!! Will def come back again.
Best Thai food on the shoreline. Hands down, no question.
The shrimp fish was excellent except for the shrimp being undercooked which really disappointed me. The duck was o. K. But kind of bland for me. All in all I was disappointed. Good for a one try thing.
Our food was amazing and the people were so nice. My son loved the green plastic utensils that came with his meal and when we left, the man taking care of us gave him a gift bag with his own utensils to take home. It was so sweet and unexpected! We'll be back!
Very friendly staff, quick service and great food. We were traveling for doctors appointments and shopping when we found this little gem between two of our stops. My mother, sister and I adore Thai food so we stopped in. My mother can't stop raving about her Pad Thai and my sister admitted it was way better than the place she frequents. My mother is already trying to plan another trip out that way so we can stop and eat here.
Service was fast, the food came out really fast, the place is clean, and the food was great. The food is worth its price. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend.
Oh my goodness. What a great find!!! Vegetables perfectly cooked, sauces divine. Presentation and service impeccable!
Great food and great service, the people are so kind and it is real authentic Thai food!
Excellent!
We ordered takeout as we were having two people over for dinner and due to covid-19 staying in seemed to be the way to go. The food from Land of Thai did not disappoint. Even for delivery our food arived nice and hot! Our guest's were impressed with how delicious everything was and I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. You NEED their ribs in your life!
To give you an idea of what we tried, we ordered:
Coconut soup
Coconut shrimp
Red curry w/ chicken
Pad thai noodles with chickeno
Pineapple fried rice
Steamed pork dumplings
Springrolls
Calamari
Sticky rice
I can honestly say that I would reorder everything, and I'm absolutley looking forward to trying more from Lan of Thai.
This is a modest little Thai restaurant, clean, bright, and spacious. Friendly service, and the food was prepared quickly. I ordered the drunken noodles, which were amazing. Portion size is great, I took home more than half of my dish that I couldn't finish because I was so full. Will definitely come again.
This is the one place in the shoreline you can find a best Thai food around Westbrook and Madison. The staff here are so happy to serve with a smile on their face and they have a very good knowledge about the food if you don’t have any idea about the Thai cuisine they recommend very well and mouth watering dishes in Thai cuisine.
Excellent!! I will be back many times!
Good Thai place and affordable take out
Really great food would go again sometime, they don't sell alchahol but there's a liquor store nearby.
First time for take out- we got the Pad Thai, Pad See Ew and drunken noodles. Delicious and very generous portions! I forgot to add a meat and we didn’t even realize it was missing- was delicious as a vegetarian meal. Will definitely order again
This is as good as it gets ! A real diamond, a must try, BEST THAI FOOD IN CONNECTICUT.
Nice place. We ordered take out. The restaurant staff are really great, very nice. The food is excellent. Ordered the red curry with extra vegetables and it was fantastic. The Tom Kha Gai (spelling?) was wonderful as well. We will definitely go back. Really hope this little gem can last. It's a valuable addition to our shoreline dining!
Rare chicken.
Fantastic food.
Dropping off donations at Goodwill and.lo and behold a new Thai restaurant next to Doc's and it"s outstanding. Ordered Som Tum (papaya salad) and tofu green curry and was so impressed with the flavors. Portions are very generous and fresh ingredients. The green curry was filled w authentic flavor w the curry rich & complex and veggies & tofu perfectly cooked. Papaya salad is a personal fave and they didn't disappoint. I ordered out but the dining space is very nice and clean. Plenty of room. Check them out!
We were excited to see a Thai restaurant open in Clinton, so we gave it a try. The spring roll appetizer was very good but the fried calamari was obviously that frozen, over-breaded kind, rather than lightly-floured, flash-fried which I was expecting. My wife had the lettuce-wrapped tofu which was horrible. The tofu was deep fried and was so salty we threw it out. It wasn't "lettuce-wrapped"; it was simply a pile of over-fried tofu cubes sitting on top of a bowl of lettuce.
Now the good news.....I love red curry and they did a fantastic job with the red curry which I got with the shrimp....8 rather nice-sized shrimp in a wonderful red curry sauce made with coconut milk and mixed with tasty vegetables. So, the moral of the story is....get the red curry with any of the offerings except tofu because I'm sure they would have thrown in those salty, over-fried tofu cubes into the curry and ruined it.
We LOVE Thai food and have been to every restaurant from New Haven to Mystic and up to Hartford. This place is the best. Small and unassuming, you could easily drive by and not even see it.. the portions are huge and everything about the items offered scream top quality ingredients, skill and great care in preparation. Well done!!
Amazing food. Servers were very polite and very knowledgeable about food allergies! I have an anyphlactic dairy allergy, and I was accommodated very well! Have eaten multiple times here with 0 issues! Food tasted good too!
Great Thai food. You can’t go wrong. Everything is good
Just got home from our first trip to Land of Thai. It was delicious! We got two apps and three entrees, one better than the next. Great service, overall super experience. We will be back!!
Ordered the Pad Thai Shrimp and another Vegan. Both were excellent! The menu looks great. Will definitely be back.
Delicious local thai restaurant in clinton. The restaurant is very new and very clean. The chef tends to cook some of the dishes on the sweet side. Some dishes were spicy. Overall we had an enjoyable experience!
We ordered from Land of Thai for the second time this afternoon. The online order feature worked fine. I tried the Pad Thai Shrimp with no added spice and my wife had Drunkin Noodles with Chicken and no added spice. Both items were delicious. My one comment is the price for what you get. My Pad Thai Shrimp was $16.95. It was mostly noodles with 6 small shrimp. Not worth the cost. They should provide larger or more shrimp.
We love good Thai food. I am always ready and willing to drive a good distance for it. We heard this new restaurant opened and we're excited to try. We ordered some takeout for lunch and everything we have tried is delicious. So happy to have a few miles from my house.
We ordered take out from Land of Thai and it was delicious! The people were very nice and food was fresh and tasty. We are so happy to have a new restaurant around and cannot wait to try the rest of the menu!
This is the place to go for Thai on the shoreline. They have an awesome regular menu and an amazing vegan menu! Highly recommend!
I went opening day for lunch. Got pork dumplings and Chicken Pad Thai. Both were very good. The waitress brought me over some "homemade chili powder", man it had a kick! Great atmosphere, great service, and great food!
Great for private parties. Very clean and food was incredible!!!
I ordered a couple of options off of there menu and I was so happy with everything the Siam dumplings are fantastic the veggie dumplings are great the avocado wrap was out of this world and the red curry was perfectly spiced with the perfect mix of veggies and the sauce was the perfect thickness that once it hit the rice it all came together I 100% will be going back at least once a week
