I wish I could’ve taken a picture of my spicy noodle soup, but it was gone too quickly. This was an awesome Thai place. Our waitress knew literally everything about the restaurant and the menu. I’m typically not a big spice person but the spices here are full of flavor. Will definitely be back here!
Incredible food, great ambiance, amazing staff!
We were warmly welcomed and recommended the Khao Soi and Pork Basil. Both were so good, the best Thai we’ve had in the US! The staff was helpful, friendly, and funny. The ambiance was a rustic Crested Butte feel, with an authentic touch of Thai. This is a must visit when in Crested Butte. Kop Khun Krap to the Thai Chili staff!
Thai Chili seems to be a chain (we also ate at one in Ouray) providing the standard Thai cuisine. This location in Crested Butte is simply wonderful, right along the main drag with plenty of outdoor seating.
We like to get Thai Tea and it was fairly standard, but solid. Two dollars extra for the drink with boba seemed a little excessive, however!
We got the Massaman Curry and Pad Thai Noodles. We were served promptly and the food was hot and the flavors were adequate. The rice was a little light for the amount of Curry. Prices were pretty standard for å tourist town.
There were no other charges (other than tax!) which is always appreciated.
Again, the strong point is definitely the outdoor seating. Obviously, this depends a lot on the weather, but a great place to experience outdoor Colorado!
Add it to your list after a day out hiking. This place offers delicious authentic thai food. The staff were kind and quick. They made sure your water was filled and brought the food out quickly. The Penang curry with rice and the noodle soup dishes were fantastic. Bathroom available, outdoor and indoor seating available, alcohol and thai tea, and they have dessert items. I recommend the black sticky rice pudding if you’ve never had.
Amazing food, amazing staff, and an amazing vibe/aura. We had the Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles and they were both superb. Staff were very attentive and informative. For dessert we had the Black Sticky Rice Pudding with Coconut and it was very comforting. I would recommend any families/friends/individuals visiting crested butte to try out their food and dessert.
Fantastic staff and food and very reasonable prices for food, app, and a drink
The food here is delicious, and the staff are so incredibly friendly. It’s one of our favorite places to go in Crested Butte.
Excellent service! Fresh and delicious food! Great Value! Showed up on a busy Friday night, the team was hard at work waiting and bussing tables. We didn't have to wait long and our server was super busy and helpful in making recommendations;)
5 stars all the way around! The service was phenomenal. Everyone came out to greet us and the server was so excited to tell us about some of her favorite dishes and their cultural importance to Thailand. You could tell everyone who worked there had a lot of pride in making sure we had the best experience.
This is the best Thai food I’ve had in Colorado so far!!
Everything we ordered was amazing. We ordered the dumplings, egg rolls, Tom Kha, pad see ew, duck noodle soup, and my husband tried a new dish that the server recommended, the pad ka proa with fried egg and it was a crowd favorite. Make sure you ask for the crispy pork on that dish.
Every plate was empty by the end of dinner. And the table had all the house made hot spices for you to adjust your spice just the way you like it. We had an amazing experience.
The chef's special Tom Yum was amazing! I could eat it daily and probably never get tired of it.
One of the best Thai restaurants I’ve been to in Colorado. This quaint restaurant has a great menu with reasonable prices. I ordered the Khao Soi which had great flavor and perfect amount of spice. Also the service was great, food came out quickly and the staff was pleasant. I will be book marking this place for my next stay in CB.
Great food and very friendly workers
Amazing food, amazing staff, and an amazing vibe/aura. We had the Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles and they were both superb. Staff were very attentive and informative. For dessert we had the Black Sticky Rice Pudding with Coconut and it was very comforting. I would recommend any families/friends/individuals visiting crested butte to try out their food and dessert.
Great food and service.
Great Thai spot in CB. Love the food and the service is the best in town.
I wish I could’ve taken a picture of my spicy noodle soup, but it was gone too quickly. This was an awesome Thai place. Our waitress knew literally everything about the restaurant and the menu. I’m typically not a big spice person but the spices here are full of flavor. Will definitely be back here!
Stopped in for lunch after some skiing and it was *so good*. Cozy cozy restaurant with incredible service and delicious food! Highly recommend.
Delicious food, delightful service in the heat of CB!
What a great surprise, food was absolutely amazing and the service from X was beyond expectations. Highly recommend you stop in here and give it a try
Delicious curry and quick, friendly, attentive service! Hope to be back soon!
This place is great. The food was excellent. Their service was great. It’s tiny So be prepared to wait a little bit if it’s busy.
One of the best Thai spots I’ve ever been to. I’ve eaten lots of Thai around south Florida.. this is definitely a legit 5 star restaurant.
The Khao soi was amazing, very flavorful! We had the peanut curry which was very delicious as well.
This is our favorite restaurant in Crested Butte!
Excellent food and service.
They make everything “thai-style” and the vibes are great! Try the Khao Soi it was AMAZING!
Hidden Gem of Crested Butte!!! Really amazing service and food that all-around hits the spot :) please go and enjoy this restaurant as, despite it being just a tad out of the way (like 2 minutes walk from downtown,) the food and service really make this place the underrated spot of Crested Butte. I enjoyed the Tom Kha, The Pad Kaprao, Cashews Sautéed, Tom Yum, and Khao Soi… bad news… I couldn’t tell you which one was best cuz they were all TRULY DELICIOUS (but the soups scratched a particular itch that is nice.)
Crew works hard despite the massive crowds.
As a Singaporean who has been to Thailand quite a number of times, the food here is delicious / excellent
Best part is the staff are Thai. Highly recommend!
My advice is to show up super early before the dinner rush crowd as they don’t take reservations.
Our visit to Thai Chili Restaurant was underwhelming. While the lack of atmosphere was something we could overlook, the food, unfortunately, left much to be desired.
The noodles, in particular, were bland and tasteless. I had high hopes for a dish that would offer the classic sweet, spicy, and savory notes Thai cuisine is known for, but instead, it was very plain and lacked depth. Even a basic element like lime was missing, which could’ve added some much-needed brightness to the dish.
We found ourselves reaching for the condiments on the table to add flavor and make the meal palatable. It’s disappointing to have to essentially season your own food at a restaurant.
Overall, the experience didn’t meet our expectations, and we left feeling unsatisfied. This place has potential but needs significant improvement in the quality and flavor of its dishes to make it worth a return visit.
Awesome place to eat. Food was great and people were nice
Fantastic authentic Thai food! Exceptional service
Price right
Incredible food, great ambiance, amazing staff!
We’ve had a lot of Thai and this spot is one of the best. The duck soup was so flavorful and the waiter explained the process which explains why it’s so delicious. Very authentic food in this little mountain town.
Amazing food! Ate so much
We came to this Thai Chili twice in a row. We tried different food and everything is taste so gooooood. Omg. Every bite reminds me of my home. The staff were so nice and the place is so peaceful. I love it. They also have a really cute Tshirt. We will be back many time in the future.
Fabulous food and staff. Love to eat here.
Good food, pet friendly, very. Ice staff
Our favorite spot in Crested Butte! Great food at reasonable prices and the staff is wonderful!

Good Thai food and service in the middle of the mountains, um yes please! Food was awesome and service great too! Definitely coming back when in Crested Butte next time.
One of my favorite restaurants in CB. Very casual, great food and top notch service. Love the panang curry
Absolutely delicious, cozy atmosphere, and very sweet staff. We loved this place and it was perfect after a long, rainy day. We will definitely come back whenever we are in Crested Butte! So glad we happened to stop by.
Super average
People were so rude
Food was DELICIOUS! I ordered the Khao soi, which was very authentic and yummy. My partner ordered the Kha Prow with pork- spicy, and it was perfectly hot. Id highly recommend anyone that likes Thai, come here
We had a nice lunch on our last day in Crested Butte. I left my purse there on accident and didn’t notice until we were already halfway on our drive home! Called the manager and they shipped my purse to me. And they covered the cost! Excellent people. Would definitely visit again on our next trip to crested butte!
Great fried rice, and drunken noodle. Cozy atmosphere
We ordered takeout and the staff were incredibly welcoming and hospitable. The service was excellent. We sat at a table on the patio and the staff served us drinks while we waited for our food, which was delicious. Wonderful atmosphere.
Found fruit flies in food. Flavors were off...something was very gamey. Just left after the flies.
Thai Chili seems to be a chain (we also ate at one in Ouray) providing the standard Thai cuisine. This location in Crested Butte is simply wonderful, right along the main drag with plenty of outdoor seating.

Fabulous food and excellent customer service.
Fast, delicious, attention and kind service. Very pleasant experience
Really friendly folks and great food too! Dog friendly. Fantastic patio for enjoying that summer weather.
This was one of the best Thai meals I have had since being in Thailand.
We got the green Papaya salad, Drunken Noodles & Pad Thai, they were all perfectly sauced, so flavorful & they gave us the chili sauces to add if we needed a kick!
WOW, soooo great.
We sat on the road because you can see the mountains from the table!
This is one of the best Thai meals I ever had. The flavor profile was spectacular, and the service was amazing. Very friendly, efficient, and fast. I would eat here often if I was a local. I know as a fact because there were tons of locals as well. I will stop by every time I'm back to CB.
Great little spot on the main strip in CB
Great food, service and lovely outdoor patio for the summer.
You normally don't expect good asian food in the mountains, but this is seriously one of my favorite Thai restaurants anywhere. Great flavors!
I have visited Thai Chili in both Crested Butte and Ouray, and they are both fantastic. However, I prefer the ambiance in Crested Butte. Every dish I've tried has been delicious. I highly recommend the tempura shrimp and duck noodle dishes.
Thai Chili offers an authentic Thai dining experience with a menu that caters to a variety of tastes. The restaurant in Crested Butte has a cozy and inviting atmosphere, with tasteful décor that enhances the dining experience. The Telluride location is also excellent, but the Crested Butte ambiance stands out more to me.
The tempura shrimp is perfectly crispy, with a light and airy batter that complements the fresh shrimp inside. The duck noodle dish is rich and flavorful, with tender duck pieces that melt in your mouth. The flavors are well-balanced and the presentation is always top-notch.
Both locations have friendly and attentive staff, ensuring a pleasant dining experience every time. The consistency in quality between the two restaurants is impressive, making Thai Chili a reliable choice for Thai cuisine in these areas.
I look forward to visiting Thai Chili again on my next trip to Crested Butte or Ouray. It’s a must-visit for anyone who appreciates great food and a welcoming atmosphere.
We loved our dinner. The khao soi was exceptional and so was the Penang curry. What a find!
Great and quick. For Colorado (and even the east coast) this is fantastic thai food. The servers were attentive, the food perfectly cooked, and it was served quickly.
Ambience was nice and quiet which is a big departure from some of the other places on the Main Street strip.
Service and food are top notch! A must eat spot in CB.
The staff was so friendly! I’m a bit picky with my pad Thai and it was good! My boyfriend’s fried rice was amazing, he says the best fried rice he’s ever had. Very great place to go if you’re in crested butte.
The food and service are incredible.
This was absolutely delicious! Will definitely return
Great food and great service
Excellent food! Try the soup bowls, they are amazing.
Loved this place. Adorable patio and really amazing service from the greeting to the end. We enjoyed the crispy spring rolls and edamame. And ordered the fried rice and vegetable pad thai. Really great, fast service and seems they do really good takeout too. Great place! I loved how you can add spice however you like it right at the table without guessing on how to order.
Amazing food, and amazing service
Such sweet people and delicious food! would highly recommend! Their porch seating was lovely!
Great staff and food. I got a super cool t shirt too!
Yummy food, kind staff, and a lovely atmosphere.
Get the Tom Kha soup and Drunked Noodles - both were so delicious!
We were exhausted after skiing. Ordered online and picked it up - so glad we did! The food hit the spot- yummy!
Food and service was excellent! The hostess, server and staff were very kind. Place was really nice, My 16 year old son said the food was great and he enjoy the spice tip that the server gave him with his Duck soup! I really enjoyed my food too. You can't go wrong if you like Thai food. Enjoy!
Excellent noodle soup 🍜
Great service but not great food. We ordered the Tomka soup and it was flat not good. The Padswew was subpar. The steamed dumplings were the best item that we ordered but still not great. Seemed like everything was out of a Sysco box.
Excellent food and drinks and friendly people.
Excellent Thsi food! And they can accommodate gluten free options for our daughter who has celiac disease!
Not the best Thai food but this is a mountain town and I'm spoiled from having spent too much time in Thailand. They do try hard on service but can be understaffed. Hey I get it. Difficult in these parts to get good help.
Service was great! Waitress was attentive and very informative on menu items! Food was very good.
Amazing dinner
Deliciousness! The latest open joint in town. Thank you!
In past experiences at this restaurant, I have been given no reason to leave a poor review. But after my most recent visit, the shrimp drunken noodles gave me the most hellish case of food poisoning I have ever experienced. This was not an isolated incident as another member of my party also fell ill shortly after eating here. My suspicion is that this place is so busy that quality control and cross contamination is being completely overlooked in this kitchen. Use caution when dining here.
What a gem! Cute little house with huge flavor! Can't wait to come back, everything was so authentic and fresh, service was awesome!
Amazing food, and great service. Totally unexpected during this day and time of the year
Service was prompt. The steamed dumpling appetizer was delicious. The main dish Drunken Noodles was a small portion and sickly sweet. Poor value. Do not recommend.
Love this place , great food and portions. Always friendly staff
Small but mighty! Great service, efficient and friendly, good quality food (add spice to your own taste is a neat touch).
I’m not sure which is better, the food or the service. This place is great.
Solid Thai joint right on the main strip. Tom kha was missing that distinctive lemongrass flavor, but I'm guessing it's hard/impossible to get that up here. Khao soi was REALLY good, same with the veggie entree. Veggies had an awesome garlic sauce. Delicious Thai tea always a nice bonus. Super friendly staff in a cute house, always the best type of place to eat Thai food! Would definitely recommend, a bit pricey but big portions and good flavors.
It was good
Delicious food. Nice people. Khao soi and drunken noodles were great!
Clean, tasty, prompt service. Perfect post bike ride dinner. Highly recommend!
Our lunch at Thai Chili 78 was excellent. The shrimp tempura was moist and so very tasty. My Tom Kha soup had so much flavor to it and the tofu was soft and melt in your mouth. Some of the best I’ve ever had. The Mossaman curry was great and great flavor. You can select how spicy or not you want it to be. The service was wonderful. She checked on us frequently and offered suggestions. Would definitely go back again
While the atmosphere at Thai Chili 78 in Crested Butte was cozy and the staff were friendly, I found the overall experience to be lacking. Despite its promise of authentic Thai cuisine, the dishes fell short in terms of flavor complexity and balance. The Pad See ew, for instance, seemed to have frozen vegetables- they didn’t seem fresh. I’d hesitate to recommend Thai Chili 78 for those seeking a true taste of Thai cuisine.
The food was gross.
Drunken noodles were pretty bland. As in..lacking in flavor, pretty basic. Service was prompt and efficient although not friendly. Server cleared our plates and dropped our check simultaneously. We guessed that meant we were done. No dessert…no more drinks for us. There are a lot of restaurants in Crested Butte to try so would probably not go hear again or recommend.
Just don’t do it. I came with friends on July 29, and we were drawn in by the open tables which should have been a warning sign…the waitress was incredibly rude. The food was the worst Thai food I’ve ever had. Seriously, there was microwaved broccoli without seasoning on the drunken noodles?! The pad thai had no peanuts or green onion- just noodles, some chicken and a lime with zero flavor. Pot stickers were just the frozen ones with some soy sauce and a tiny portion.
I have no idea why this has a 4+ star. It deserves a solid 2. Do yourself a flavor and try one of the many decent restaurants in town.
Great Thai food and service in an awesome location!
Amazing food, amazing service, amazing people! This food is great and is served very quickly! 5/5 all day
Not bad, but nothing special either my veggie currie was heavy on bamboo shoots and logout on the rest of the veggies. Pretty patio. Good service. Reasonably priced
We visited on July 27 of this year and overall had a completely average experience. The staff was nice but overlooked details like making sure our table had a sauce tray (I had to walk inside to go find someone and ask for one after our food had been out for ten minutes) and being generally slow to take orders, bring water, etc. Maybe sitting inside would have been better.
The food came out fast but was pretty standard in taste (nothing creative, just typical basic preparation) and portions were a bit small. The egg rolls on the appetizer menu were somewhat comical as they consist of five small rolls that you can buy from your local supermarket freezer case. Not what I expected from a non fast food type restaurant. The outdoor seating was nice and comfortable and the umbrellas did a good job shielding us from a quick rain shower that showed up for a couple minutes at the end of our meal.
▪️Short staffed with frustrated owner/server
▪️A restaurant with 10-12 tables outside and about 9 inside should plan better for peak season. ▪️We were during wild flower fest in July which I assume would attract tourists. More than the management, it’s the owners fault to have staff and not have 1 person for serving, front desk and bar.
Their taste would be up to a small place standard since all tables were occupied. We opted for vegan option with no fish and oyster sauce. Their taste was not up to a 3/5 star restaurant in Denver metro.
▪️Wait time was 20mins with empty tables inside
Eh, ok, not great. Very busy. They don't take reservations. Long wait for a table and then then again the food.
Amazing food. The staff is very knowledgeable. I was surprised just how good this place is bustled I’m a small town. Great seating inside and out. Amazing.
food was terrible.
Every dish we had was cooked to perfection & full of flavor- I highly recommend this place!
Excellent food with dishes I don’t commonly see (fish cakes appetizer and a fantastic papaya salad). Asked for spicy and it actually was. Very friendly staff, with good service. Nice outdoor patio with a cute bar inside. Highly recommend, love this place.
Excellent food, atmosphere, & service!
The staff were attentive so much that they pushing the bill before we were done. Egg rolls are small with little filling. Pad Thai and fried rice were unremarkable.
Food was good and tasty but the eggshells in the Pad Thai was a huge turnoff. It was not just a small chip, it was almost half an eggshell. Boba in the tea was stuck together and not drinkable. Definitely not worth the price.
It’s a busy week in crested butte so it took some patience but with a bottle of wine and a summer breeze, who cares? Once we ordered, our food came out promptly and the host (owner?) was super nice and friendly. The Massaman curry was delightful.
Food was OKAY! Our waiter got offended when we sent the drunken noodles back because we didn’t like the dish because of pungent fish oil smell. She was really rude after that.
The food is below average, the curries are extremely watery. The waitress is extremely rude and unpleasant.
Terrible. I placed a To Go order. I waited. Other customers came, ate and left. After an HOUR they gave me the order. And it was wrong. Avoid!
One of our CB go-tos. Excellent, fresh Thai food. Recommend the noodle soup and drunken noodles. Sometimes a medium can be more of a thai medium spice tho, so watch out!
Perfectly cooked Thai. The food was not super spicy, but they had the spice options to enhance the level of heat.
Waited 30+ minutes over provided pickup time with several other customers. Did not receive any indication of how long of a wait, acknowledgement of delay, or apology. Ended up canceling for refund as they would not give any estimate of when the order would be ready. Granted it was a busy weekend. They should have stopped taking orders or been honest about the wait. As a former restaurant owner, find this ignorance of the customer experience concerning.
The ambience is really nice. The restaurant is on the elk street with all the action. There is outside seating available. The food is average. The flavors are mild.
My husband and I try all of the Thai places in new towns we visit and this one takes the cake. More than hits expectations, exceeds curry desire. Will have this again.
Delicious food, friendly staff, refreshing boba.
The Drunken noodles were exactly what I was craving, and the crispy pork (chef special) surpassed expectations.
Came for lunch, and ordered pot stickers, egg rolls, and Thai Peanut with pork. Pot stickers were very good. Egg rolls were ok, but they have very little filling and are dry. The entree was the biggest problem. The pork was tough, dry, and flavorless. The peanut sauce tasted more like thin peanut butter than Thai peanut sauce. The dish had chunks of canned pineapple that I could have gotten down the street at Clark's Market. I gave it four stars for service and for atmosphere, because it's right in downtown Crested Butte. A picnic table on the sidewalk would probably get that. I'm hoping I came in a bad day and it's typically better than my experience.
I ordered the green curry and the fried rice. The green curry at the Thai Spice level (which is supposed to be the spiciest) it was extremely mild which was a total let down. Also the curry was extremely soupy. Had the consistency of water, I usually get curry that’s a lot more thicker and heartier.
The fried rice was good though. I really wanted the curry to be good and spicy but wasn’t 😞.
My first time ordering from here so I hope it was a fluke. My recommendation to the kitchen is make that curry more spicy!! 🙏🏻
The food was decent.
What we ordered:
Chicken Thai Basil Fried Rice
Chicken Wings
Chicken Wontons
Chicken Masamam Curry
Chicken Drunken Noodles
Tofu Pad Thai
Thai tea with boba
Foods that tasted good:
Thail basil fried rice was outstanding.
Masamam curry was good.
Foods that were disappointing:
Chicken wings had a very bad flavor. They smelled of some old/bad oil that was used.
Tofu pad thai had a very sweet taste to it, when mentioned the same to the server they just mentioned that’s how it tastes. I did have pad thai previously and never had a really sweet tasting pad thai.
Awesome food, great atmosphere and service was good. What more can you need?
Best duck ever.
Amazing food. Perfect spicing.
Had the drunken noodles and pad Thai and both were amazing! Definitely a new favorite 😍
I wish I could give 10 stars!
Authentic Thai food, amazing taste, super friendly staff. If you don't know what you want to eat, ask the staff for their favorites! We got to enjoy the patio seating today and it was amazing. Lots of fun cocktails too! If you're in CB and you don't eat here, what are you even doing?!?!
Great food. Delicious 😋
Average food, hurried service
A bit of an odd experience here. Kid options were limited but they did like the spring rolls. My husband got drunken noodles and greatly disliked it so asked for pad Thai instead. He didn’t like that either. This seemed to frustrate the staff but they were kind about it. I liked my pad see ewe. The bill was so confusing though! Not really sure what I paid for at the end. And gratuity was included at 18%. Somehow we ended up spending over $120 for 2 kids and 2 adults.
Great food with a selection of Thai hot to not hot at all, steamed pot stickers were excellent, crispy duck was executed well, and the pork noodle soup was tasty.
Cozy Thai restaurant in downtown Crested Butte. Ample seating given the size; there were a lot of people there yet we were able to get seated right away without a reservation. Unfortunately they weren’t able to make their soups or curries vegetarian (couldn’t remove the fish sauce). Ordered the drunken noodles and the pad krau pau with tofu, and asked for both to be made veg 🌱. The food was good but not great, lacked some flavor (I suppose they had to leave out a lot of the flavoring to make it veg, but we order veg Thai food a lot and it’s usually much more flavorful).
I only have good things to say about this place. The whole experience is amazing, the people are very kind and friendly. The food is INCREDIBLE. Hands down the best Thai food I’ve had in Colorado. And probably the other states I’ve been to. Vegan and vegetarian options available!! 🌱
Nice, cozy little Thai place.
love this place great food, good prices
Excellent Thai food and great service… the food is fresh with great spice levels for you hardcore Thai connoisseur’s. If you haven’t stopped in or ordered takeout from here your missing out!
Not good
Drunken Noodles with shrimp was excellent.
Great experience - food was solid and cool vessels served in.
Great food from this tiny place!! It did take a while, but huge portions of fabulous food! Definitely recommend! Friendly staff!
Service is decent. But the food is sub-par. It tastes like a good chef putting together cheap ingredients. The red curry was thin and tasted like coconut milk with some curry powder. The ramen was cheap noodles with some veggies tossed in. I will say the gyoza was good. But the sake came luke warm. It smells great in here, but the experience falls very short.
Great soup, great sake
Found the food fresh and depression delicious!
Ordered "hotter" as I want sure if thai hot was something I watched...and it was perfect!
Great pad Thai and Tom Kha. High quality, quick service with a smile.
Loved the cozy atmosphere and food was awesome.
Great food and quick service. Excellent! Will come back again.
Impersonal
Ok food
Guy on his phone the entire time
Delicious! Will definitely come back
Multiple issues with food and service. Very slow to take drink orders and bring appetizers. Entrees took about half an hour to come and were incorrect/excessively spiced/under spiced. Billed items were incorrect and had to be brought to server's attention. Food was slightly below average for the price. This was a busy Saturday night so staff were maybe overwhelmed, but still pretty disappointing.
