Worst Thai food I’ve ever had. Not sure how the reviews state 4.5 stars. The moment we walked in, we should’ve ran. The atmosphere is sad. Service is horrible, didn’t get water until after 10 minutes of being sat down. Orange chicken tasted like tempura batter, not authentic at all. Who serves orange chicken with romaine lettuce, it should be jasmine white rice. Pictures are self explanatory. Would not be returning back.
I am really sorry that I am gonna say. Honestly, the food was not really delicious. Lobster pancakes have a bad fishy smell. the cost of food was expensive. Vibes are fancy. Service was so nice. It was a weird experience. In the nice fancy restaurant, why is the food so bad? I recommend you guys are serving chilies with food. Because food has no favor. You guys need to get a credit card for the customer's convenience. You should test the foods by yourself. I found this restaurant with a good rate, but I don't know why your restaurant has good rates. Btw, diverce tea choices are nice. After candy was adorable. I assume you lost a good chef.
This hidden gem has one of the best Thai foods I've had. As other reviews stayed, the outside is extremely understated but the inside is really beautiful
Stephen did an amazing job of creating this location. I'm a customer since day 1 and love their food. Their cubed steak that goes into dishes is one of the most amazing pieces of meat. So tender and delicious.
Also, when i ask for Thai spicy i get Thai spicy. I love the burn so much. Everything on the menu is incredible. Must try once. You won't regret it.
I absolutely love this place, I’ve been coming here for years and every single experience has been so good. When I want to dine in for a pleasant and peaceful lunch I know this is the place I want to eat. Their yellow curry is phenomenal and their Pad Thai is out of this world. The servers here are so attentive and sweet and they even remember my order now and know exactly what I want when I come in. The owners are honestly such sweet people who really care about your experience here.
10/10 food and service. Please try it out!
I dont like leaving bad review but im disappointed with taste of food. This is not real thai food. Spent $46, for these two meals with only one small bowl of rice. Who are the people giving 5 stars , maybe people are carried away by the interior of restaurant. I see why they only take cash or zelle
Great pad Thai. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Place is clean, and spacious. Parking is free. Quality food. This is not what I would consider fast food Thai. Food is great, and presentation is awesome. Been coming here for a couple years, and never disappointed. Located on Greenleaf, the owner is friendly, welcoming, and informative. Works hard for his customer base .and the staff is just as eager.
Food was good and nice presentation. Restaurant is pretty spacious so it's good for both small or large parties. Friendly and attentive service!
I recommend the Lobster Red Curry, it's a good portion to share with plenty of lobster meat! Also had the Tom Yum Chicken Tenders (OK, weren't as flavorful as I expected), and Crab Pad Thai (also OK. Has lots of crab meat in a crab cake-like form. Was a little dry, I'd stick to chicken or beef).
For dessert we had the Fried Bananas w Ice cream. The portions are really big so it's good to share with 3+ people. I think if they served more ice cream w the dish and less fried coconut, it would be better! Would like the try the Thai Tea Creme Brulee next time!
Authentic! Friendly and fun staff. Of course, delicious. Be prepared if you order at the "Thai Spicy" level. It's actually very spicy, as in your mouth will be left tingling for a while. Their dishes are pleasantly presented with decorative "flowery" cut veggies and green herb leaves. I'm amazed every time we return.
Delicious panang curry! Currently they don't take CC but Zelle and Venmo are options to pay. We stayed right up to closing a random Friday night and they were not rushing to kick us out. Appreciate that.
Food was amazing.

Shoutout to the greatest worker there(not sure is owner or crew). Friendly, well explained all the details of the menu, and with patience (we arrived 15 minutes before closing and spent like 10 minutes to decide)
Delicious! They do not accept credit cards though.

We Love this place
Great food
Awesome family that owns the place
I highly recommend you eat here
I had lunch there in October 2024. Both the coconut shrimp and red curry were great. So good I plan on picking it up for a dinner in the coming month! I’ve been to Thailand and this place is authentic!

10/10 food and service. Please try it out!
This was the worst thai restaurant experience I’ve ever had. I seldom to reviews but I was so incensed I literally drove out of the place and am parked idling on the street to write this immediately after. I was literally the only customer inside when I got there not along after opening and eventually only two other people at an adjacent table so they def were not busy at all. I ordered the pad Thai lunch special because hey how can anyone screw that up right? It came w a ginger salad which was the only redeeming thing of the entire visit. After that the food came and to say it was unremarkably bland would be being polite. The temperature didn’t even seem right. What’s more is the girl never came to the table at all except to take the order. Drop off the food and pick up the dishes at the end. I couldn’t comment on anything and when I looked up, I never even saw her anywhere anyways. Probably talking to people in the back I presume. What’s more is she said they are so tacky. They don’t even take cards there. Who does that in 2024? so not even a debit card and they take Zelle if you can believe that so I’m selling a stranger the money and it’s very rare if not unheard of that I don’t leave a generous tip anywhere. This person actually came out from the restaurant towards my car and was asking for confirmation on the Zelle. I be grudgingly show her and I say how it was a bad experience. I was just going to let it go, but she comes out to the car and I’m telling her that and how she never came up to the table and how the food was very mediocre and she lied to me and said that she did obviously I’m not going to lie about that and remember it wrong. There is flipping hardly any people in there. What’s more is even if she did when I’m saying how tacky it is about the Zelf and the bad experience she gives a sarcastic wow in the tone that she can’t believe I’m saying what I’m saying and walks inside. Never once an apology or talking to the owner or anything. Way to go with your customer service skills, girl
Mango Sticky Rice
Pad Thai
Pad See Ew
All are a 10/10 stars!!!!!!!
Food and service were great, but they don't accept credit card as a form of payment. Prices a touch on the high side but typical for uptown Whittier

Excellent food and service. Nice quiet and relaxing ambiance. Perfect for relaxing with friends or a date.
It was my first time coming here. Service was good and quick. The atmosphere had a good vibe. I ordered pad thai on the lunch menu it came out fast. My lunch tasted very good with the flavors of the vegetables, chicken, tofu, and noodles on the plate.
This place is really good, authentic and fresh. Staff is friendly, service is good, pricing is moderate.
I am really sorry that I am gonna say. Honestly, the food was not really delicious. Lobster pancakes have a bad fishy smell. the cost of food was expensive. Vibes are fancy. Service was so nice. This is the first time that I can qualify with 5 stars on everything!
Thanks for sure will be back! :)
We were crazing Thai so decided to stop by this spot since it’s close to where we live. It was a week day and we got here before 8:30 since their Yelp page says they close at 9:00.
We’re immediately greeted in a very rudely manner with a no we’re closed with the hand waiving under the chin gesture aka The Chin Flick. Now I know some people are ignorant to hand gestures or just how to treat a potential paying customer. But this gesture is the equivalent of throwing someone the middle finger!!
We passed by this place all the time and it always looks empty so we wanted to give a local restaurant some business and good vibes, guess not!
So as an Elite Yelper, I posted a review expressing my concerns in hopes that the Business Owner would recognize their shortcomings and apologize. I would have gladly taken down my review and given them business. But that wasn’t the case, the Business Owner continued with more insults saying that my option didn’t matter and that no one would care about my post!
Look Business Owner, maybe you’re not from this country or just don’t know how to treat potential paying customers! So take heed, you need to enroll yourself in some Customer Service courses and educate yourself. A polite and friendly response goes long way, which we never got!!
Great Thai food & friendly staff
The only problem that it went to CASH ONLY!
If I could give this place 100 stars I would. This little hole in the wall is AMAZING!
The food was so delicious. Everything was fresh and very flavorful. Very very clean. The service was beyond amazing. Steve and his wife provided the best service. Everything felt so personal, they took the time to make us feel at home. I will forever rave about this place.
This place lives up to the raves of the other reviews. My waitress was wonderful. Best service I’ve had in quite a few years. It was quiet during lunch maybe due to the area. Yellow curry and small egg roll was delicious. Sweet waitress was helpful and attentive. This is an elegant and family friendly place!! I will definitely keep it as a place to come back to. I eat out a lot during lunch. This would be a place I could recommend to my friends. Also had hot ginger tea which was also delicious. all for under $20. Cash only today
amazeballs! owners r awesome!
Everything about this place is so cozy, the workers are very kind and the food is simply amazing. Owner should be proud of such a fine establishment!😻
Great Customer Service
I did not eat there so i cannot rate it correctly.. i was looking to get carryout so i was looking at the pictures of their food..theyve put so many garnishes on each of the dishes in the photos that you cant see anything but rice and cannot see the food! Therefore ive my time… people dont want to see the garnish online stupids!
This Thai restaurant! Let me tell you, it is an absolute gem hidden in the heart of our city. I recently had the most delightful experience there, and I simply cannot wait to share it with you!
From the moment I stepped foot into the restaurant, I was greeted by the warmest smiles and a lovely ambiance that transported me straight to Thailand from the smells from the kitchen. The owners, who also happen to be the chefs and servers, are truly a dynamic duo that creates an unforgettable dining experience.
The moment I glanced at the menu, I knew I was in for a treat. The variety of authentic Thai dishes they offer is truly impressive, showcasing the rich diversity of flavors that make Thai cuisine so special. The owners' dedication to using only the freshest ingredients shines through in every single dish.
Let's talk about the food itself, oh my goodness! Each bite was bursting with an explosion of flavors that took my taste buds on an incredible journey. The fragrant aromas, the perfect balance of spices, and the meticulous attention to detail in presentation left me in awe. It was evident that the owners poured their hearts and souls into every dish they prepared.
One thing that truly stood out to me was the passion with which the owners approached their craft. They took the time to personally recommend dishes based on my preferences, ensuring that I had the most enjoyable experience possible. Their dedication to making guests feel welcomed and satisfied is truly commendable.
It's not just the food that makes this restaurant exceptional; it's the overall ambiance and hospitality. The owners created an intimate and cozy atmosphere, making me feel like a part of their extended family. Their genuine warmth and friendliness added an extra layer of enjoyment to my dining experience.
I must also mention the immaculate service provided by the other owner. Their attentiveness, knowledge of the menu, and willingness to go the extra mile to accommodate any special requests truly impressed me. Their passion for providing exceptional service was evident in every interaction, making me feel like an honored guest throughout my meal.
In conclusion, this Thai restaurant, with its owner cooking and the other owner serving, is an absolute gem that deserves all the praise. The dedication, creativity, and passion of the owners shine through in every aspect of the dining experience. From the warm and inviting atmosphere to the impeccable service and, most importantly, the outstanding, authentic Thai food, every visit to this restaurant is a true delight. I can confidently say that this restaurant has set the bar high for Thai cuisine in our city, and I cannot wait to return for another unforgettable experience.
The food was wonderful, selection of alcoholic beers and sake was nice, I visited at night about an hour and a half to close i didn't feel rushed or pressured to leave, great experience would definitely be back soon!
Staff were very nice and welcoming. My order was ready in a timely manner. They were on top of everything the second we walked in. I wish more places were like this.
We had a large group for lunch and the service was excellent. The lunch specials were also perfectly sized and oh-so-good!
Best thai food and best customer service we have ever received! The owner Stephen and his staff were amazing! We will be coming back very soon!
Hidden gem!
Came here to celebrate a birthday and had a number of plates at our table. I can tell you that every plate had a distinct flavor and each one was very tasty. Really liked the 12 hour brisket plate!
Will definitely be back soon
Would have liked it more if they had air conditioning; way too warm in the restaurant.
They have an awsome well stocked bar and the staff are all great individuals who great people skills, some of the best service around, highly recommended.
The best service for kids and families. They provided coloring paper, toys, and were just so kind. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options. They offered to customize everything. I believe they have many meat options too. Great portion size, delicious food.
The owner Steve was overwhelmingly hospitable. He set the mood for us with seven grandkids 9 and under. He brought out a basket of toys for them to play with, have them spinner toys, and brand new hot wheel cars. Suggested to get the kids appetizers first to keep them still. As we ordered he gave us suggestions and made sure that we were taken care of with desired care and the food was great.
Hidden gem of a place. Don’t let the rough parking lot fool you. Decent enough portions with a budget that won’t drain your bank account. The only down side was that the place was unable to accept Debit at the time but allowed Venmo, PayPal and cash. There was mention of a cash discount.
I ordered pad see ew and my fiancé had Pad Thai.
We waited less than 10 minutes for our meals and we can tell they took pride in the presentation
Love this place. I miss the Thai Cheese Balls. Those were outta sight! Best Thai food I've had in SoCal, period. And their ginger lemonade?! They need to bottle that stuff. People talk about Sweet Tea, forget that, Ginger Lemonade is where it's at! I always order several large garlic rice to eat up over the week. Sure, you can make your own, but nothing compares to their garlic rice. Fantastic! Loved this place for years. Don't mind the new pay options, I just miss some of the removed menu items. Shed a little tear for those cheese balls everytime ...
Great food, great service👍🏽
From far away, the paper sign on the front door might make you think they are closed. But I'm glad we walked up to check. The food is delicious, service is very friendly and they really took care of our kids. They brought place mats, kids plates, cups and extras to make them feel special. My 6 year old son says it's his new favorite restaurant.
We were very pleased with the service, cleanliness and food. After having spent several months in Thailand, I can gladly say this place was a legit. Going back
Great food!
Delicious food good service,nice atmosphere
It's one of the best Thai foods I have ever tested in the US. The owner is so nice that he will go table to table and make sure all is right. Good service, but the sitting area is bit old! However, it's a quiet atmosphere located in an ally with limited parking.
I kno this place is popular, I wish it only the best. But for me they just can't seem to get the thai food down tight.
Not comfortable if you are there around 2...
Good flavor, but chicken seems like it was not cooked with the dish, just chuncks/cubes tossed in at end. Bacon wrapped shrimp were good. Bring cash for a discount, they charge extra for using credit card.
Great food, environment, and customer service!
Excellent tasting food. Lots of selections
the soup and noodles i got was really good.
No air conditioner only fans food is excellent will go back for food but only to take out
Excellent Thai restaurant. Went in at peak dinner time on a Saturday and was able to get a table with little wait. Not only did the appetizers arrive quickly, the numerous dishes I ordered also arrived earlier than expected. Customer service was noticeably better than most restaurants as well. Highly recommended
Wonderfully tasty food, on time and accurate!
It was a great vibe , the service was amazing. Fast in helping and taking our order, to caring for all customers present, which were my children who got gifts from the restaurant 😀 the food on time and great quality plus quantity. I will be going back.
The food was really good. The only thing was that the business guidelines reminded me of a gas station. You pay one price for cash, and a higher price if you pay with your card. I've never seen this before in a restaurant. We went around 1:30p.m. 6-21-22 a pretty warm day. There was no air conditioning. The waitress said it was broken. Makes it a little uncomfortable 🥵 to enjoy your food.
The service was good. First off there was no a/c and no fans. The Pad thai was super dry and very under flavored. The worst Pad thai I've ever had.I felt the chicken was funky and the shrimp was not cleaned/devained. The yellow curry was good. The fried rice was just ok
We will not be going back.
This place is a hidden gem in Whittier. All the food is very good and fresh. The service is excellent. I would recommend one of the curries which come in three different types. Will definitely be returning.
This hidden gem has one of the best Thai foods I've had. As other reviews stayed, the outside is extremely understated but the inside is really beautiful
Best Thai place in the county. Loved the atmosphere. I recommend the Panang curry (their medium spicy is pretty hot, watch out) and the ginger lemonade is a taste of nirvana!
Some of the better green curry I've had. Pumpkin curry was really good too. 3.75% charge if you don't have cash which is a pain for anyone born after 1970.
Yummy Thai food. Excellent service. They offer a discount on the bill when paying by cash.
If I could go higher than a five I would!
Hands down, the best Thai food in the LA area, and we have eaten at a LOT of them!
We have been here about five times and eaten all kinds of things from the menu, never to be disappointed. The Tom Kah Gah soup, the pad kee mao, the eggplant basil, all AMAZING. The service was prompt and attentive, and it is evident Steven cares about his product and his customers deeply. This is a must try! You will be back again and again, guaranteed…
There is no better Thai restaurant out here in Whittier, or anywhere near that is better than what you could experience at The Green leaf Thai Cuisine. I cannot express enough how delicious every single food item in their menu that I have tasted is. The food does not hit heavy, because it is obvious that it is made with less grease (perhaps a healthier cooking oil option). So far, from what I know, their food is made from scratch! The details in their plating are beautiful. The service is amazing. The vibe is calming. My favorite Thai restaurant forever.
Super good Thai food!!! Never disappoints...
The staff is nice and you receive a discount when paying cash. The ambiance is nice but the food is not up to par. I love Thai food especially Pad See Ewe. The flavor is lacking, noodles soggy. I ordered medium spicy and not spicy at all. But I love spicy so maybe it’s just me.
Love the wonton soup.. sorry didn't take a pic devoured it, lol
Excellent food and service
Excellent Thai food.
The duck is astounding. Excellent curries.
Fantastic food and service! Our first time trying Thai and it was delicious. The three servers were very friendly and attentive and the food was served quickly. They brought my daughter crayons, a coloring sheet and a teddy bear which she loved. The owner, Steve (I think that was his name), also gave her an ice cream. The owner and the staff were great. 10/10, if only we didn’t live 2,000 miles away. 😩
The coconut soup was amazing!!!
I didn't like anything that I had at all. Chicken fried rice, papaya salad, and pad Kee mow are the things that my friends and I got. Papaya salad had a weird bitter taste to it plus it was way too sour. Fried rice was extremely wet and mush, the eggs in there were fused into one giant ball with wet, unseasoned white rice inside it. Huge chunks of chicken in the Fried rice and some of it are very slimy when bitten into. Fried rice was the worst out of the tree but I had to mention the amount of garlic in pad Kee mow. It was mountains of garlic you could be biting into something crunchy to realize that it was pieces of raw garlic and some of it are unpeeled so that was very unpleasant.
After seeing the reviews on Google, I could only assume that this was a one off thing because the food in the reviews looked better than what I had received.
I don't know when I'll get to try The Green Leaf Thai Cuisine again but hopefully next time, the experience will be different.
We got our food to go and ate in a nearby park. The food was ready quickly and was very good.
Delicious food, generous portions.
Ordered online and was quoted a 65 minute wait time. I called to confirm if that was accurate and the person that answered said, "the online system is pretty self explanatory." Ok? Guess that means yes. I go an hour later to pick up my food and they can't find my order in the system. Same guy that answered the phone told me it's going to be another 7 minutes. Replied that we've already waited for an hour and he says online orders take a while. My advice? Don't order from this place online or ever if you value your money and time.
The food is also overly salty, greasy, and too much garlic.
These people steal money at checkout, the prices in the menu are a lot less of what they charged extremely more about $10 more per plate
We ordered several dishes for our family and got dessert. It was beautifully presented and was equally delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant.
First time I went, the experience was great and food was good.
Subsequent time, the food was not as good, but still okay.
Last time I went was BAD! I was up sold on garlic rice which was terrible. I am not exaggerating… the rice was as hard as several days old rice. I couldn’t even chew through it and had to throw it away. I was up sold again for an alternate appetizer of shrimp wrapped in crispy noodles. The appetizer was cold and soggy (note, I got it to go, but I’m only about 10-15 minutes from the restaurant). I’m sorry to say that I will not be returning as the food is no longer of good quality. Perhaps it was an off day for them but it was already a second chance give it another shot situation for me.
Clean clean clean establishment
GOOD grub FRIENDLY staff
Food was excellent! "Hot" is pretty spicy but it's great if you like spicy food. Definitely try the Pandan leaf crème brulée.
Food was amazing 👏 staff is super friendly!
Spicy basil with beef is a must!
Amazing place amazing food the waiters are very attentive the owner is around to help and is very kind to children gives stuff animals out to them it is a high class restaurant so it’s not cheap but reasonable for the quality of food very nice for special occasions or just a nice diner
Great food, even better service. My family and I will be returning.
Food was excellent!
I'm gluten free (allergy) and there was enough for me to choose from for an enjoyable meal.
Wish they would carry tamari or Kirkman's gluten free soy sauce so I could have the spicy fried rice!
Lobster curry is 🔥 👌
Walked in and placed an order. Super friendly and walked me through the spice levels of the curry I was getting. Went with the US level of spicy and it packed a punch but the coconut helped calm it down. Steamed dumplings with panang YUM! Also got to try the fried ones as well because he threw them in for free! Thank you so much! For a fun date idea, take the food to Central Park in Uptown and have a little Thai Picnic 🍲😊
Excellent food
Called in a pickup order spoke to Steve who was super helpful!!
Anyone on lowcarb or keto diet come check them out!!!!!
Great service!
After spending over 50 dollars on take out, I'm sad to say this place seems to be a case of flash over substance. Seeing all the amazing photos of the presentations, our excitement was high to say the least. Oh, what a disappointment. The rice was flavorless and lacked pineapple even though pineapple was in the name of the actual name of the dish, the pad thai had an oddly over powering bitter taste to it, and the meats were bland. Only a few bites in and we decided to give up and drive around to find a homeless person to donate this to. Hopefully they'll enjoy it more than we did and not assume we hate the homeless.
Great food. The owner is a great guy. He's extremely knowledgeable.
Excellent service
The food is always delicious. The order is ready in about 20 minutes for pickup, generally. Ask to not include plastic utensils if you take food home. This way you save money and reduce plastic waste.
Excellent fried banana and coconut icream dessert and yellow curry.
I had a amazing dinner tonite. All the food an I mean All the food was fabulous. The most tastefull Thai food ever.Thank you Steve for taking care of us.Also a great big shout out to Ricky, our waiter.Great job thank you again.
Best Thai food in Whittier and surrounding cities. Period.
Excellent food, nice staff! Will be back soon!
I love their Thai tea, their fried dumplings, & the Chicken Pad Thai. Also their customer service is great. Everyone's very sweet.
The best Thai I have had in LA area. Great egg roll, wonderful pad thai, rice and everything else. Service is also exceptional. Great work!
Shrimp Tom Yum is the bomb. Plenty of sweet, plump shrimp, mushrooms that seem like crab meat, hot and spicy, perfect. Thai chili chicken was nice, fresh, hot. Good Jasmine rice, and pad Thai was yummy. Egg rolls were a nice touch included with the lunch special along with a yummy salad! Outdoor seating and very attentive servers, perfect.
It was ok, the thai rice needs a little more flavor. The orange shrimp was really good, orange chicken was ok. The chow mein didn't really have flavor, but I loved that they had a lot of veggies in it. Other places but like two pieces of broccoli and that's it. The dumplings were pretty good. I would go back but maybe get my rice spicier, maybe that will add more flavor. The beef that we ordered was good and tender.
Great service and very good Thai food. The owner himself introduced himself to our party of 4. Children friendly, definitely a place to go try if you haven't!
Love the food. Always fresh and exactly the way I wanted
Amazing fresh Thai! Finally authentic Thai Spicy! Steve is terrific and we’ll continue to keep supporting this restaurant now and after COVID!
Good food! Plenty of parking, fast friendly service, loong menu, will go here again (to try something different! It all looks good)
A+ Great Food
Great place for family or a date, they have a good variety of food. Smoke duck was my favorite! Taste delicious 😋
Definitely will be going back.
Great service and great food. Couldn’t ask for more(:
I hit greenleaf looking for the taco truck on a rainy Thursday night. Something so much more majestic found me. It is lock down after all. Blessings to all. Many thanks to this business owner. In times of need it takes beacons of light like these in support of the whole community to make it through, stronger. More than just physical nurturing, the experience is food for the soul.
The owner and his staff are amazing the food was so delicious can’t wait to go back.
Fresh food. Amazing !
Loved this place. They have it were you can order almost anything and just sub the meat with tofu. The food was very yummy. Definitely would come and visit here again when I visit my sister.
Food was fair... the thing that really bothered me was the smell when we went into the place. It was overwhelming like mixed cleaning supplies and made me slightly nauseous. The egg rolls were the only thing I really liked. Even the fried Rice was disappointing.
First time visiting this Thai Restaurant. The food we had was very good. The hostess was exceptional. We were there on Valentine's Day for lunch. Will definitely be back soon.
The best Thai food in the area!
A little pricecy
Great food with fresh ingredients. Low prices. Very friendly and polite wait staff with strong knowledge of the menu and the in house specials. Loved it!
Great food, friendly service.
Oh my gosh. Everything we ordered was good
Very good thai food!!
