The Pad See Ew was straightforward and good too. The Sticky Rice and Mango was also classically made, but wished they had some sesame seeds on top. Overall, a pretty solid Thai spot that will satisfy.

Edit January 2023: Galanga is very popular these days. Our first time back in a few years. The garlic salmon was once my favorite here. This time it was overcooked and dry. The beef in the pad see u was overcooked and tough. The flavors were still there, but the dishes just weren't as enjoyable as they were when we lived in the neighborhood. ☹️
Update August, 2024: Quality is as high as before. Maybe my last visit was a bad night for the chef. At any rate, everything was delicious tonight. If you've ever been disappointed by cream cheese wantons, thy theirs; fresh and very tasty!

Yum, yum. My favorite Thai restaurant. I love the lunch thai burrito combo it comes with salad and ice tea. What a bargain. I get the garlic chicken one. Friendly staff and a great outdoor patio.

Drunken Noodles were tasty but very spicy. Had to ask for this creamy sauce to cool mouth down. Asked for water which the waiter didn't seem to respond well to who I think is one of the owners and then took his time and after getting the water he proceeded to walk right past me and give to all the other tables including outdoor seating before coming back to me last. This happens again he'll get zero tip as he is an owner of the restaurant.

Small, dark, simple restaurant with great food, friendly, patient service at a very low price. You might miss it if you aren't looking. It's next Fatburger's parking lot. We will come here again!!

Ordered beef massaman curry with coconut rice. Was average priced, I would say normal portion not large. Curry and rice were beautiful, however coconut rice wasnt white it’s dark. It still tasted ok. No serviette or cutlery in bag which was annoying.

The lunch specials at this joint are simply amazing - they're not only incredibly helpful, but they're also more than enough to satisfy your hunger pangs. Speaking from personal experience, I highly recommend the Green Curry with Chicken - it's a flavor explosion in your mouth! Update: the restaurant was closed for two weeks and not answering the phone. We went back when they re-opened and were told they had a plumbing issue but it had been fixed.
The next time we went back, we noticed a “B” rating on the door. Upon reviewing the LA County health review online, we learned that the real reason they were closed was due to a “cockroach infestation”. We did not eat and promptly left.
As long-time customers, we did not appreciate the dishonesty and will not be going back.

Love this spot! They are always very friendly and fast. The food is really tasty and they use a really good assortment of veggies when you get veg instead of a meat. Also the prices are great and they have lunch specials.

I wanted to love this place based on a friend's prior visits...I ordered the luncheon special $13, Salmon Teriyaki. Not just a "tad" dry....it WAS dry and slathered in sweet teriyaki sauce, most likely to compensate for the dryness. The teriyaki sauce reminded me of bottled version. About 3 to 4 oz of salmon with one cup of white rice and four pieces of vegetables. When you're out with friends isn't it always embarrassing to bring these things up to the wait staff and cooks??? Fusion?!

Have eaten here many times and lament not rating sooner. The Thai Beef Stew I had was unbelievably good for what I expected. Meat was so tender & the gravy made with peanut sauce is literally divine. I have not been disappointed once off their menu.

I read the reviews, everyone says this place is delicious, what did I do wrong? I couldn’t rate this any higher than average. I think a magic wok or happy wok vibe is present here. I don’t like any of those places by the way. I’d definitely like to return and try something else. My go-tos didn’t pan out here.

A+ for timing (she said 10min, set timer 10min, as it went off she’s approaching) and meal temp.

Firecracker shrimp: tempura batter wasted. In between the sauce and food temp enclosed in a styrofoam container (imagine a meter), 5 of out 100 bites were crispy. The rest of the meal felt as if I was eating a funnel cake.

Fried Wonton (minced chicken): clearly I misread this, I was hoping for a bit of cream cheese, so the error was on my part there. I wasn’t impressed even a little bit. Nothing to be desired, for me. Chicken felt dry to the tongue and the sauce was more like what the firecracker shrimp should have had; as it had a better zest to it.

Best Pad Thai I've ever had. And the price didn't break the bank.

They have a wonderful lunch menu and excellent food. It’s definitely fusion and I’m usually not a fan of fusion restaurants but this one is exceptional! If you’re in the area and feel like having some Thai food check this place out.

Best Thai food in LA! A low-key joint in West Hollywood that offers a wide array of carefully concocted Thai fusion dishes. The team strives to maintain a delicate balance of flavors in all their preparations. Galanga Thai Fusion deserves nothing less than 5 stars for the food and service. Pad Kee Mao with tofu and Cranberry chocolate wonton with vanilla ice cream are personal favorites.

Galanga never disappoints! Im hooked on their pineapple fried rice with salmon. Chicken Satay is always good too. The shrimp tempura is delicious and comes with some veggie tempura too!

I love the lunch menu here, and they offer brown rice too. Lovely outdoor seating and proactive CV19 protocols. Menu is very good as are the prices. I love spicy and I get that here.

I've ordered here many times and my favorite dish is the Spicy Mixed Tofu, which you can request to be vegan (ask for no fish/oyster sauce). It has a fantastic flavor and unique texture.

Tonight I dined in for the first time on the back patio, which is very peaceful with plants, birds chirping, spaced-out garden tables, and heaters.

I drank the house tea, which is a combination of floral flavors: jasmine, chrysanthemum, and green tea. Absolutely lovely and comes in a mini French press.

There are free parking spots in the lot.

I LOVE this place. Absolutely everything is delicious. They don't put enough salmon in the Pineapple Salmon Fried Rice though :(. And yes, that is an actual thing they make, it's fire! You've never had Orange Chicken like theirs. It taste air fried and the sauce is light so the chicken never gets soggy or heavy. Ugh, 10/10

I've dined in at Galanga in the past as well as have ordered to go, and tonight I put an order in for delivery. Not once have I been disappointed with their food. Usually I play it safe by ordering the Galanga fried rice with chicken which is good! However, tonight I wanted to try something different from the menu. Before I ordered online, I called up the restaurant to get insight on the popular pairings with coconut rice. At the suggestion of one of the nice gentlemen who works there, he said his favorite was the Crispy Fish with the Spicy Basil sauce. I'm glad I took his advice. It's so good, but it is indeed spicy. I'm not normally into spice, but this is well worth it! Not to mention, the coconut rice is delicious!

I’m from the east coast and was not a fan of the pad Thai. It was completely different than what I’m used to getting. It had a sweet potato taste to it.

Food is usually good, always fresh tasting. Teas are hit or miss. Sometimes they taste freshly brewed and other times weak or watery. Service is quick although sometimes a little bit indifferent. Good prices. Dining area is a bit small. You really feel that at lunch time when you have to be careful not to knock into your neighbor's table when leaving.

This small restaurant on Santa Monica avenue in west Hollywood is a great place for a quick lunch If you are there by chance, or because you work or live in the neighborhood; you will not get disappointed. There are tables inside and also in the little sunny garden in the back.
Their curries are the best; yellow, green or red, with fish, chicken or shrimp, (at your taste or tolerance )from mild to spicy hot. It comes with vegetables and rice, delicious flavors of coconut cream, spices and ginger of the Thai cuisine.
Salads, seafood, fish and duck dishes are also a good choice from the menu a la carte.
Prices are reasonable, for a two course lunch and tea or soda probably you will pay around 15 dollars.
Don’t expect much from the service or the ambience, but you will get a nice smile, politeness from the owners and a flavorful, honest fresh meal.

Ordered the Panang curry, with tofu, which was delicious. A lot of Thai restaurants put like 2 vegetables and oodles bamboo shoots in their curries. Not here! A great amount of vegetables and delicious fried tofu. Best Thai food in the area hands down.

Good food, friendly service, low prices, nice atmosphere with pleasant soft music. Lunch special before 2pm worth checking out. The cashew chicken comes with brown rice, veggies and salad with mango dressing all for $9.

I’ve been going to Galanga since it opened - full disclosure I live nearby in the hood. I’ve had many a lunch - a good $ deal - and a number of dinners there and enjoyed all of them. I especially like the duck noodle soup and the other duck dishes like the spicy duck and the Thai curry duck. It’s getting harder to find duck served in restaurants and at reasonable prices.
The coffee and tea are good and likewise in their iced Thai versions.
I heartily recommend Galanga Thai restaurant. May it remain in business for many years to come.

The food here is good, the place is welcoming. Lunch special are on point if you love to save money. White rice or brown rice choices are available. Handicap parking and great customer service. Their sesame chicken, and Thai tea are to die for! I love how they are constantly changing the table cloths I guess they care about making the place feel vivid and fresh.

If you have a ph’o on the menu, I expect a Hoisin sauce on the table.
