Casual & contemporary setting for Pan-Asian eats, specializing in Thai & Japanese dishes.
Happy hour is good but you must pay in cash. Good deal for 20% off. The receipt picture im posting doesnt have the discount. Sorry forgot to snap the revised bill with 20% off. Everything we ordered was decent 7/10. Spicy edamame and sashimi were good starters but the soft shell crab yellow curry was exceptional. The extra star is just for that dish. I would come back just to have that.
The take out person was very rude. I’ve been going here for years and the last few times the take out person (female) was not cheerful but this time she was very rude and not willing to correct my take out order. Telling me I didn’t say to put an item on the side when I did. Basically calling me a liar. She never offered to correct my take out order just kept telling me I never said to put an item on the side. There are many Thai restaurants in LA so I will never ever eat at Rize again. Very very disappointing!
Minimal detail on decor and maximum detail on food quality and customer service.
Everything here is so superb. The simplistic yet elegantly placed decor makes the very small and somewhat cramped dining area cozy and chill.
I swear I could sit in here all night and feast away at any one of the amazing dishes served at RIZE. So very impressed with the quality and precise flavor.
Don't get me started with the staff. Customer service is better than the food. Thank you.
The Chefs here pays attention to the details on all their dishes. Very tasty all around, Foods are fresh and clean. We love the Chef’s selection on Nigiri sushi (Hirame, Uni, Otoro, just to name a few) served on their super cute mini conveyor belt. Definitely will come back again.
Came here during LA restaurant week and ordered the sushi burrito set for lunch! Super delicious and well accompanied by the miso soup and cucumber salad. Presentation is superb as well :)
The lychee tea tasted like sticking a straw into a lychee and drinking straight from it - soooo fresh and tasty 10/10 recommend!
Definitely a great value and would come back to try other dishes!

salmon truffle was amazingly good! Big and fresh! Thanks!
It was really delicious! Recommended to visit:)
Nice surprise. Sushi is really good ratio of a rice to fish there's more a lot more fish than rice.
Lots of vegetables I love eating vegetables when I have sushi that's the only thing missing sheet of peppers are perfect and just brussel sprouts.
Decent sushi and Thai fusion. Rolls were fresh and pad Thai was on point. Prices were fair.

Everything was amazing 🤩
Yummy and great service
Yummy sushi place with good service.
I’m visiting my daughter and her fiancé in Santa Monica and we dined at RIZE Thai and Sushi tonight! It was DELICIOUS! I ordered the Won Ton Soup and it was THE BEST WON TON SOUP…I’ve ever had. There were too many delicate tasty won tons in the soup to count. And to my Surprise , there was also chicken and Shrimp. My daughter’s fiancé ordered the Papaya Salad! It was soooooo so fresh and a huge serving. My daughter ordered some salmon rolls and she commented how fresh the salmon was.
The icing on the cake was the YUMMY LOLLIPOPS for dessert!
Their Shusi is very good. We loved it. Come and check it out, in Santa Monica. I've been other places, and wow this place is good to be with friends and family. They also have happy hours. Come on by, the staffs are very nice and the place is very nice. You can eat in or outside. Thanks.
Hip place beautifully decorated. Prices were very affordable. Tons of free parking. Friendly service. Very fresh ingredients. Cool vegan and vegetarian options to choose from.
The food here is outstanding!!! Sometimes, the service is a little slow. If it is busy, they often only have one server. It is a small place. The happy hour is great, but to get the happy hour discount, you have to pay in cash or venmo/zelle.
Place was ridiculously busy. Thought I got around that by ordering for pickup online, but they said they didn't see the order come in. Waited nearly an hour after it was originally supposed to be ready.
Great, cozy local joint! Loved it!
I can't figure out why this place is so bad! It's the worst tasting sushi I've ever had!! Even the eel sauce just by itself is not tasty!!!
The miso soup was so salty my lips burned. I didn't expect the fish, especially not the yellowtail, to be really fresh, but this was rank. how do you mess up gyoza?!
I can't think of even one item that was good and I very much dislike doing that. I ended up tossing everything and thereby wasting a whole lotta $
5 stars on Yelp!
Sushi rolls were amazing and so was the Pad Thai!
The food was fabulous. The service... not so much. Our party of 9 received individual parts of our orders over a 90-minute plus time period. Each dish came about 15-20 minutes apart, and some of us were completely done with their meals before others even got their first dish. They NEED better organization in their kitchen.
Very tasty authentic sushi for good price. Place I definitely recommend to visit.
Ended up leaving without half our order after waiting for the final course for over half an hour.
Food is good. 64 oz beers are great deal for a table.
Happy hour is a solid deal (20% off the check) but you have to pay cash and the nearest ATM isn't really walking distance.
Overall, there are better options in the area.
Cute local restaurant food was tasty the portion was smaller than I expected overall it is a good place to dine .
The sushi is terrible.
Excellent food and many sake options. Definitely recommended.
Clean lovely place... great food!
Delicious! Good service too!
Great food great place
Great sushi
Food is ok, The serving is bit smaller.
So gooood!!
We got mostly maki rolls, I'm no expert but they felt heavy and you could taste that the one with crab they use a canned substitute to the real thing (they do mention in the ingredients). Fish was fresh, but the taste was covered by too many sauces. Price is cheap, so at the end you pay what you get and i did not feel disappointed, but if you are looking for great sushi (and high prices) you should look somewhere else.. if you just want a easy night out with a bunch of options including maki and you don't want to break the bank, this is the spot
I love this spot! I’ve order takeout and dined in. Always enjoyable. I love thé mix of Thai and Japanese choices they offer. My go to is the yellow curry with brown rice but I’ve also had several different sushi rolls over the years and you really can’t go wrong with whatever you choose.
Food was very average..first time and last time I will go there.
Delicious sushi and a nice atmosphere.
Gorgeous 'homemade' food created with love! Very pleasant leafy outdoor lunch area! S
Not the absolute best sushi I've ever had, but very great food and atmosphere
Sehr leckere Sushi und thailändische Gericht. Relativ preiswert, aber sehr gut. Parken direkt vor dem Restaurant möglich.
We ordered several Sushi plates, Gyoza Poke Bowl, Spicy Seeweed Salat and Mango Sticky Rice. Everything was delicious.
Huge fan! It's a locals destination. But it's happy hour all day Tuesday with a bunch of decent half off specials (most importantly to me is half off sake/brews). That's two for one in my universe.
Pound sake eat some sushi 🍣
Sushi specials too hopefully that's in another review.
Great handrolls & super friendly staff!
Sushi was good, saki was good, Chicken Kara-age was ok, but there was only 1 healthy option (which was good), and I wish there was more. Not too much of a fan of the app system they use rather then the traditional menus, which I'm sure it has its Pros, because it definitely has its Cons.
Good and tasty 😋.. Good service..
Small place but the food was great. Tons of crab in the Crab Fried Rice. Also really enjoyed the Maine Lobster roll and the Truffle Albacore. Ordering from the phone was easy and they delivered to the table very quickly.
Love their sushi!
Good sushi, not dry. Was my first time there and I will be back !!
I love the place. The food is exquisite. I would recommend it to anyone. 5 stars
I got the veg gyoza and it tasted like nothing if I’m being honest, the baked salmon was good, next time I would try something new, has outdoor sitting and a nice vibe in the inside.
Super slow service, took an hour to get our food and they kept telling us “five more minutes”
Love the food. Not in love with the disposable plating because it doesn't do justice to the food. Everything tastes amazing.
Minimal detail on decor and maximum detail on food quality and customer service.

Great value cocktails with moderately expensive sushi. Highly recommend trying their cocktails!
Everything I’ve tried has been great here. I highly recommend their happy hours. Some favorites are the truffle albacore and BSC roll
Food is so good! We stayed for a long time and they were totally cool with us and really nice, too. Two thumbs up. Definitely get the shishito peppers! Happy hour everyday too!
Energetic little restaurant just off the main road, with delicious homey food and surprisingly low happy hour prices!
Delicious!! I'm new with sushi so this was a great experience and the Cali roll was amazing!!
Great menu, chill vibe, nice people. But the fish needs to be better.
Not only does the menu offer a double handful of selections, I have enjoyed everything I have ordered from Rize. I’m grateful to have them close by.
Sushi smelled a bit fishy and wasn't fresh. The veggie dumplings were good.
Суп был вкусный, но после этого весь вечер болел живот
Their food is very tasty, can order as spicy or unspicy as you like, plenty of vegetarian and pescatarian options for our family. I appreciate they don't use styrofoam, for their take out containers. Our children love their food and we'll return many more times.
Best chirashi bowl I've had in SM. Highly recommend the fresh fish here.
Went for sushi on July 27th could not eat inside do the Covld... so we 8 outside and it took them quite a while for them to get the heater lamp working We ordered miso soup to start off... it came out cold and tasted like really bad fish as opposed to miso.... the sushi and the roles were terrible this head I had to be the worst dining experience in my life.
Love going here. Food is always fresh and great.
Stuff are not smiling and slightly disconnected (it might be a typical asian behaviour but it does not work for me ) food was good at a reasonable price .
My husband and I are visiting from Texas and decided to try this place out since it was close by and were not disappointed! We got the Pad Thai and Poke Bowl for lunch and they were both amazing! If we lived here, we'd eat here all the time!
Not bad but for the prices I would expect much more
Destiny roll us my FAC but all is good.
Just an awesome place..well kept secret..food is fantastic..one of my all time favorites..👍😊❤
Small portions but nice!
Came here during LA restaurant week and ordered the sushi burrito set for lunch! Super delicious and well accompanied by the miso soup and cucumber salad. Presentation is superb as well :)

Definitely a great value and would come back to try other dishes!
Very good place for Thai food lovers. We like very spicy food as can be evident from my numerous reviews. We ordered 'spicy' and were not disappointed.
Favorite Thai fusion spot on the west side.
The lunch was excellent and great atmosphere.
Great food service ambiance
Great pad Thai, curry, mushroom soop and sticky rice with spicy Tuna! All on point!
great place to eat
Nice little cozy local restaurant with great food and nice staff.
Not much fish in the sushi, wings were not fresh
Nice cozy place with Windows on Lincoln to get you a deep urban dinamic scene and where you can get superior rolls.if you're around on Tuesday you LL get happy hour on food too😋
Great green beans with crispy tofu! Love this spot for a quick lunch to go.
Lovely local place. Hugh quality sushi and Thai food. Their Happy Hour cant be beat! $5 dishes and sale! I eat hear several times a week and I'm a foodie
Great happy hour
All day happy hour on Tuesdays!
i am the neighbor of this restaurant!
i am so happy to have them in my neighbor hood.
Awesome taste
Awesome all day happy hour on Tuesdays. Really flavorful sushi. Great place for after work drinks or casual date. Menu has lots of variety for all
My first yome here, but my husband has eaten here many times. (Used to work in Santa Monica). Food is consistently good, not greasy, fresh fish, creative combinations. Service was good, although they were VERY busy. They don't linger too long at each table, so know what you want & ask for it all together the first time. (Took a while to get low sodium Soy Sauce, but they were very gracious about getting it). Prices were fair for what you get & quality of food.
The salmon carpaccio and lychee martinis were outstanding. We had some kind of seared, cubed salmon on lettuce that was unbelievable. Terrific service. Quiet, casual, unassuming but comfortable dining atmosphere. If I lived here, I would want to eat here every day. Extensive menu.
My boyfriend and I ordered take out and was surprised to see how small the rice container was relative to the curry container. The yellow curry was uninspired. Some overcooked chicken and a couple potatoes. I saw a thin strip of carrot. I didn’t care for the sushi and that is rare for me to not like sushi. The pad Thai was good but very high in sugar. Delivery was on time. Not terrible but not great. They can do better considering the choices we have in this town.
Great Food. Great Drinks.
Pretty good food and not bad sushi for a very affordable price considering the west side neighborhood. The happy hour is quite a good deal for food and beer. Can get loud but this is a small neighborhood place that can satisfy that sushi hankering without all the pretence and and hit to the wallet. The service may be Perhaps a bit more authentic than necessary as it was difficult to make our waitress understand what we wanted but what we got was delicious
Just ate Thai food today...tasty and clean with excellent atmosphere and service.
Place is good 👌 been here several times. Only thing is to go food don't be in a rush there is always a long wait time be advised
Great prices great sushi
Enjoyed the Yellow Tail Collar very much.
Friendly & efficient service.
This is seriously delicious take out! We tried about 6 different items and there were all fantastic. Dumplings, egg rolls, poke bowl, curry...yum! We had it delivered and it actually arrived early.
Rize is one of the best sushi bars I have come across. The fish is fresh and Rize chef is very creative with nigiri and maki. The flavors are unusual and out of the ordinary. Highly recommend.
When the kitchen and the front of house are both working well, this place is amazing.
The difficulty is that you may run into something like my last two visits...once the food was amazing and the service awful; the second time the service was great (very nice, consistent, apologetic server working hard) but the food was insanely slow (20 min for one order of sushi; 45 minutes+ for a main dish that then came out room temperature, and when I asked for a warm up, it came back out ruined (they nuked a soft shell crab dish, which of course destroyed the texture of the dish.) Oh, also, they informed me they were out of rice (!?!) But they told me this just before they brought out the curry (I would've changed my order to something other than soft shell crab curry if I'd known they were out of rice sooner.) After an hour, one beer, and one small order of sushi, I opted to wanly smile, admit defeat, thank my server for trying, get the check and leave. Too tired for another outing at 9:30pm, and facing early start the next day, I had a tortilla roll from the local El Pollo Loco drive-thru instead.
Yeah, it will be awhile before I go back. Months. Need to forget that last visit.
So...it's a roll of the dice. The front and the kitchen both seem to get slammed and get out of sync fairly often. One or the other is struggling on almost every visit.
I recommend avoiding busy times and you may fare better.
Insane quality of food! Had sushi, pad Thai, edamame, and miso soup, all outstanding!
Service was friendly and fast, beware of coming in large groups, there's an 18% gratuity for 8 or more people.
Try to go during happy hour! $4.50 for a roll is a snag, make a reservation and your group has guaranteed seats, even 15 minutes in advance!
Absolutely delicious. Order the Salmon Skin Salad!!! The staff is wonderful.
Great variety and quality. Extremely reasonable.
Love this local joint, great food & vibe. Happy Hour is legit! ;-)
I got sushi and my stomach started feeling weird. I suspect it was the baked salmon roll. I guess you should never trust a place that serves two different cuisines (is Thai + Sushi). I just ate there like ~1.5 hours ago, and I’m hoping for the best. I’ll update this review if I end up vomiting, etc. I did feel sick and nauseous after eating the sushi, hopefully it will soon subside.
Happy hour. Do it!
I usually don't trust restaurants serving foods from two or three entirely different cultures: Thai and Japanese in this case. But they pull it off nicely here.
Thai food was amazing. Sushi was pretty good but not great
Had pad thai with jumbo shrimp, sushi roll, dumplings, tom yum soup. 1st two was great. Tom yum soup was way too sour. Nice restaurant but wouldnt recommend.
I visited with a group of eight friends. The service was fairly quick and courteous. I ordered the padthai with jumbo shrimp. I thought that the food tasted OK, and the portion size was on the small side (but I am from Texas where portions tend to be bigger, so my perspective is different). I would give 3.5 stars if possible
Good thai food and the lunch specials are great value.
We visited on Labor Day and were very disappointed. We went during happy hour and had about 30 mins left of it, but were only able to order once because service was extremely slow. it took an hour for us to get one sushi roll and when we did it was falling apart, misshapen, and rice was too soft. Our server couldn’t be bothered to come by and check on us. I would’ve ordered more but the rolls were such bad quality and we had already been there for almost 2 hours just waiting for our orders. I’ve never had such bad service esp at a sushi place in LA. There are way better restaurants around, skip this and save your money for sushi that’s worth it.
Great sushi, however tastes better when you take out vs. order foe delivery
Great local spot with a mix of Asian. Sushi is pretty reasonable and has all of the basics covered. Looking forward to trying some of their Thai dishes. The mango sticky rice is fabulous!
Favorite sushi place in west la! Perfect spot to stop at after the beach.
