I can’t say enough good things about Andaman Thai (San Ramon). With two convenient locations, they consistently deliver authentic and flavorful Thai cuisine with outstanding service.
From the moment you walk in, the warm and inviting atmosphere sets the stage for an amazing meal. The menu offers a fantastic variety of traditional Thai dishes, from rich and creamy Curry to perfectly balanced Pad Thai. The ingredients are always fresh, and the flavors are bold yet well-balanced. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always eager to accommodate dietary preferences. Whether dining in or taking out, the food is always top-notch. The portion sizes are generous, and the presentation is beautiful. Both locations (San Ramon/Walnut Creek) maintain the same high standard of quality, making it easy to enjoy a great meal no matter which one you visit. If you’re craving delicious Thai food, look no further—this place is an absolute gem! Bon Appetite
We had a wonderful dinner at Andaman Thai ! Every dish was absolutely delicious and packed with authentic Thai flavors. We started with the Tom Yum Soup, which had the perfect balance of tangy and spicy. The Chicken Satay was tender and came with a flavorful peanut sauce. The Pineapple Fried Rice was a great mix of savory and sweet, while the Thai Red Curry and Shrimp Curry were rich, creamy, and full of aromatic spices.
The service was attentive, and the ambiance made for a relaxing dining experience. Highly recommend Andaman Thai for anyone craving authentic Thai cuisine!
Good Thai food in the east bay area. Once seated, we waited long for our order to be taken. Service felt a little sluggish on a weekend night. The place was crowded. Food came to table fast from the kitchen though.
The pineapple fried rice was very flavorful. Salmon rolls were something we had not had before.
Would recommend reaching early as the place gets crowded and wait times can be long.
We went here today around lunch time and this place was PACKED. Everybody and their ancestors were here eating and we waited for just 5 minutes for a table to be available. The servers did a good job trying to keep up because they were busy. I had to ask for napkins multiple times, but as I said, they were busy and couldn't service me right away and probably forgot the first time I asked. The food here is delicious. I had the red curry and salmon rolls. I also had the shrimp rolls and they didn't disappoint. If the service was better and I received a chocolate mint and toothpick after my meal, I would've rated it 5 stars.
I recently dined at Andaman Thai and had an incredible experience with their authentic Thai cuisine. I tried the Basil Fried Rice with tofu and veggies, Red Curry with tofu and veggies, and the classic Pad Thai—all were absolutely delicious! The flavors were spot on, and the dishes were cooked to perfection. The vibe of the restaurant was amazing, and the service was top-notch. They were also able to customize the order exactly to my needs, which was great. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back to try more items from their menu!
We passed by this place many times when we went shopping at Trader’s Joe. We could smell the food from the customers who sat outside the restaurant.
So, we finally decided to try on a Saturday for lunch. As soon as you stepped in to the restaurant, you could smell all the amazing food. It’s packed on a Saturday lunch. Luckily, we only waited for about 10 minutes before we were seated. But the service was a little bit slow because it was busy. The food as shown in the pictures were delicious. It’s real authentic Thai food. I would definitely come back and tried other items on the menu.
I was thrilled to see so many vegetarian dishes here. We tried drunken noodles, penang curry, and fresh mint rolls.
Everything that I ordered was tasty but were all sweeter. I ended up craving salt 😂
Maybe next time I will try something else from the menu which fulfills the salt craving too.
Lychee ice tea n thai tea was so satisfying.
Drunken Noodles w/ Pork 3.5/5
The taste was pretty good and it was nicely seasoned the only feedback I have is if they try to make it more street style where you can taste Burnt flavor from Wok on high flames. Where the pork can be stir fried and bit crisp and little burnt on the edges. That would add a good dimension to the dish.
Red Curry w/ Chicken 4/5
The curry was creamy and a mildly sweet and consistency was great as well. Spice levels were appropriate and a well rounded coconut flavor. Nothing felt overwhelming or overpowering. Well seasoned dish as well. Would love to try their yellow curry nest time.
Quantity 5/5
Good quantity and quality for the price. Keep it going guys.
Friendly staff

I've been to both locations many times. Great place with good food, nice staff and decent prices. Can't ask for much more.
Ate here with my daughter 2 days ago. Drunken noodles overcooked, broccoli and carrots in noodles soft and soggy. Yellow curry was tasteless. I have eaten here before but this time the quality and taste were poor.
Best Thai restaurant in the area

Some dishes were ordered like the pad Thai were too sweet compared to other restaurants.
Spicy cat fish and khua king lai were spicy and delicious. Garlic chicken and chicken noodle soup were pretty bland for our taste 😔
Wish the servers did a better job of understanding our taste and advising us accordingly. It took a few false tries and a returned dish for them to finally figure out that we wanted spicy food.
Food was excellent.
The catfish dish is very spicy, so beware. Otherwise good food.

Had the fried rice in the pineapple, and it was really good. I will recommend.
Good place if someone is looking for quality Thai food. I loved the pineapple fried rice, it has a unique flavor, and rest of the dishes were good as well but the pineapple fried rice was on my taste buds for a really long
Had the salmon- undercooked, lacking flavor. My friend had the fried rice - lacked the flavor. Seems to be a change in the cook. Used to be great.
I was thrilled to see so many vegetarian dishes here. We tried drunken noodles, penang curry, and fresh mint rolls.

Lychee ice tea n thai tea was so satisfying.
Eat food here that I haven't tasted in Thailand. It was possible. It was the best Thai food I've ever eaten.
Like the food. I rarely eat in, usually to go.
This is a great Thai place to eat at. Their chicken is amazing and so are some of their other dishes. I have eaten there and taken take out 4 times. I will come back.
Nice restaurant with delicious thai cuisine. I love the way they present their dishes, like the pineapple fried rice, served in a pineapple.
Let me begin with saying while I have not been to Thailand I have eaten home cooked Thai food at a friends house and at some of the best Thai spots in SF.
Hands down one of the best Thai restaurants in the east bay if not thee best. We live in Castro Valley and were a little bored with the local CV and Hayward Thai offerings so after reading other reviews we made the drive out and it was 100% worth it. The service was friendly and attentive including bringing us a menu to look at while we waited for a table outside on a warm Friday evening. The food was amazing, fresh, and light. We started off with the Mango Salad medium spicy. Tofu Madness lived up to its name with perfectly prepared and marinated tofu that was delicious. Second main dish was the Gang Som Sai Bua from the "secret menu" a savory lighter broth style curry Thai spicy and cooked just right with shrimp. Next was the Thai Basil with the minced chicken as recommended. Each bite from each dish was so good.
After the meal we had leftovers since it was just two of us and we were full but not stuffed. The food is fresh and light and the place was full the entire time we were there. The atmosphere is warm and contemporary. Again thank you to the great staff and the chef for curating such a great menu, truly a gem. We are looking forward to going back already and may not go back to our local spots again. They just don’t compare.
Sorry no pics but the ones online are representative of what you get. Wonderful presentation and a feast for the eyes. Bravo Andaman!
Our go to Thai place. Delicious! 😋
Andaman Thai in San Ramon is one of the best Thai restaurants we've visited. This was our second time dining there, and once again, the staff was incredibly efficient, and the food was exceptional.
The restaurant has ample parking and is conveniently located next to Trader Joe's. Despite the high demand for seating, the staff was well-organized, allowing us to place our order while we waited for a table. As a result, our food arrived promptly once we were seated.
The dishes were delicious, with generous portion sizes and reasonable prices. There are plenty of vegetarian options available, and we noticed many people opting for takeout.
The only downside is that they don't accept reservations; you have to walk in and add your name to the list.
They do charge service charge for larger group
We ate outside in the patio...perfect weather
I had the Yellow curry...so good
Had the green curry. Highly recommend!
Great service from Rose! Nice decor and very clean! Love their pad thai. Coconut rice is delicious 😋
Was part of a team outing. Very good food.
Enjoyed the bbq chicken plate
I order very frequently from this restaurant like every week, and a specific order of two items, one of them is drunken noodles with veggies and tofu. Most of the time the dish is prepared nicely with great flavors, sometimes with minor adjustments which is acceptable. But my last night order was so horribly prepared, it definitely killed the excitement of thai food night. It was like they threw the noodles, veggies and tofu together and packed it. No flavor, no presentation, no sufficient veggies and tofu. I don’t know if their kitchen staff changed or simply they didn’t pay attention to serving a customer, but it definitely made me skeptical to order again from this restaurant.
Update:
I have been coming here for a few years and order the same thing at least twice a month. It’s a family favorite. Chicken pad thai and chicken cashew nut.
My latest order today had missing mushrooms, onion peels in both pad thai and the entre. This lacked flavor and quality that it usually has. i have had a few times where the order was off but not like this. I hope the quality and effort is not going down. Willing to give it another shot at some point and update from there.
Update:
They have gotten much better. Maybe it was a bad month or new hired cooks. But this is still my favorite place to visit. The quality has returned.
The Tom yum vegetarian rice was really good. The fried banana with ice cream was really good. It's very small and very loud.
If you are looking for vegetarian friendly thai restaurant then this is the best place to eat at. I’m vegetarian and have many restrictions on food, the staff was very friendly they helped me through menu and help decide best option for me. They accepted all customizations I requested and order was made in time. Food was very tasty and one of the best thai food I had in bay area. Will definitely visit again.
Not tasty as I expected to be!
The food is always yummy! I've never dined in, it's always very busy here and I take my order to go so I can't comment on a dine experience. But this is my go to thai place.
Excellent Thai food😋 We tried Tom Yum soup, Tom Yum Fried rice, roti & curry...It was just delicious.
Loved the vibe too. Must try!
We went to Andaman Thai for a quick bite before a movie. It was a perfect spot and had delicious food. The vibe inside is great for a date or dinner with friends. We got the Pad Thai and Yellow Curry and both were amazing. It is family owned and they know how to make great food!! Highly Recommend.
This is a popular place so I would recommend having a reservation especially on a weekend. The food and service were both great but the place is a bit smaller than what it used to be when it opened. We had drunken noodles and Penang curry. Note that they don't have an extensive vegetarian options but they are willing to replace meat with tofu so it works. The restroom wasn't clean on this occasion.
C'est bon .
Ambiance très froide en hiver.
Au printemps, le restaurant est beaucoup plus agréable.
Amazing food ,Love their Tofu Madness ,Peppercorn tofu and all the Curry dishes .The service is awesome too
Their wait times for pickup are awful, this is the second time where they say 45 min wait for the food and 60 min later they say 10 more min. Their food is really good but they need to do a much better job with their service.
Very good food. I had their chicken noodle soup. It is very tasty, and the portion is enough for two hungry people (I like a kick to my soup, so I added some hot pepper sauce). It is a small place, even with outdoor seating, but not overly crowded. We did have to wait 20 mins to be seated at lunchtime. Service comes with a smile and a thank you.
I visited Andaman Thai during a weekend and place was full. However we managed to get a table within few minutes. I am a vegetarian and their menu had a lot of vegetarian options. We ordered the curry puff, Tofu Madness, Green curry and Coconut rice. If u love spicy food, Tofu Madness is for you. I enjoyed every bite of it. Green curry was extremely flavorful. They served everything piping hot. The Curry puff looked liked an Indian Gujiya but had a samosa filling inside it. The peanut honey sauce that came with it was yumm. Overall, the food was amazing, ambience can be improved. I wish they had more tables to accommodate more people and reduce the wait time. Do try the fried banana with ice cream. You can not forget the taste.
A nice Thai restaurant in the San Ramon city market. Food is great!
Food at Andaman Thai is amazing. I have been eating here for a few years and they have maintained the quality of food.
Peanut sauce was a little pricey, but good. Pad Thai saw on plates but our party dug deeper. And Aman, he ate with us from Scottsdale having way less Thai in AZ. We went to new location in Walnut Creek before and was too crowded. Since it was an off night, we were able to sit in patio area. Standard Thai fare but still ever tasty. I cheated and ordered app of chicken satay with some roti bread for dipping. They do have fish just need to request off menu. Thai coffee for Aman and two rounds of T Tea. Food was served fresh, warmed cooked to perfection and tastes around the world.
Still like simolicity if the chopped red onion vinegar and cucumber! Condiment
We all tgree shared famiky style as we had early lunch in WC, stated earlier.
Service was professiinal, three different persons but all orders were correctly perfect. They usually have break inbetween both lunch and dinner and we got in time just prior as for respectfulness to the staff/cooks.
Secret menu choiced out with Tamarind Prwans, but be aware calamari ri gs inside coconut fresh cut out if you didnt see any overflowing lavs style. Surprise!
The real deal. This is what Thai food is supposed to taste like. It is still slightly dumbed down for us Americans sadly but less so than any restaurant we’ve found. From a couple that spent 6 weeks in Thailand on culinary adventures and always on the prowl for authentic Thai, we just struck gold in San Ramon. And the decor and service are very nice if that sort of thing matters to you.
The picky score card:
-Khua king Kai 10/10, perfect spice, get ready
-Lao sausage 9/10, very close to northern Thai/Chang Mai sausage
-Pumpkin curry 10/10
-Eggplant 8/10, still legit
Best Thai in area, and I've tried them all.
Recently visited this restaurant with family, it is a nice little restaurant, really fast service, great Thai food. We ordered Roti, satay chicken and as main course ordered Green Curry and Drunken noodles, food was delicious, portions were big and service was fast. They have a great ambience. They were really busy for a week day so they seem popular. Overall great experience.
Food was very good. Hot. Enough quantity. You won't feel starving after meal. Service was good. And even the price is decent for lunch.
Best Thai in the area. The pumpkin curry with chicken is my go-to! A bit pricey but very good quality and love the plating— it actually comes out in a pumpkin :)
Great food. Would recommend for a good & delicious meal
They deliver non veg when specifically asked for veg items and extremely rude over phone.
Had not been here since the pandemic. We shared the mango salad, drunken noodles with chicken and a coconut rice. The portions were generous and everything was flavorful and delicious! Service was prompt, restaurant was clean, lovely atmosphere- I would highly recommend this place. Easy parking
Thank you
We tried almost all of the vegetarian appetizers the ambience is cozy and the food was good.
Always tasty fresh food. Glad this place is in my neighborhood
Some out of the box recipes.
Everything was amazing, especially the food. We will be back.
I had Chicken Pad Thai and it was just amount for one person. Tastes good and people are all kind enough.
Great food and some different menus options make this a good choice
Service 6 stars Brandon went the extra mile to help me out
Food was okay, service was good. Seemed to be a little overrated on Yelp. Had high expectations based on previous reviews. Possibly the least spicy Thai joint that I have eaten at. Papaya salad had no chilis?!
Been eating here for years, everything about it fantastic. Definitely recommend placing an order for either take out or dine in whenever you get the craving for Thai food.
A local San Ramon restaurant serving delicious Thai food. The restaurant offers a cozy spot for diners with indoor and outdoor seating and a lightning fast-food service. The restaurant offers original Thai food options with adjustable levels of spiciness including starters, salads, curries, various traditional dishes, and offers a secret food menu upon inquiry. Overall delicious food, excellent service, and a hidden gem in the local area.
Delicious food, great friendly staff. Family owned business.
I've been here several times, it's one of my go tos when I'm in town for work.
I've tried several different dishes from here from the different curries, different fried rices, noodles, and chicken dishes. Everything I've gotten has been delicious.
Last time I brought some co-workers with me and we ordered dishes to share. We got the red curry with chicken, pineapple fried rice, and pad thai noodles along with thai iced coffee. They loved the food just as much as I did.
The service is always quick which makes this place great for a quick lunch or dinner. But the atmosphere is comfortable enough if you would like to sit and chat with family, friends or even work. They also have outside sitting for those outside friendly days.
I'll Definitely be back when I'm back in town.
Chicken yellow curry is 10/10. Service is friendly, fast, and professional. They know how to run a restaurant.
Amazing place! Finally, a thai place with plenty of vegetarian options + oodles of deliciousness.
The portions are generous and everything is cooked fresh. Each item we ordered was prepared fresh. The flavors in the food is mind-blowing as well!
The people working in the restaurant go above and beyond and provide 5-star service. The restaurant is set in the nice upscale market place in San Ramon.
I highly recommend you visit this place. A+++++++
Being vegetarian, ordered all vegetarian items. Roti (deep fried), spring rolls, fried rice and noodles. Peanut sauce served as side was delicious. All the items were good. Though small, it's a nice place to dine in. We entered during closing hours, but were well treated.
Good presentation and good food
It’s our go to Thai place, their staff is courteous and the food is good
Great food as always. Returned back here. Their spicy Chicken is really good. Loved the Tum yum kung soup (Shrimp). Service is great. We will be back.
Visiting after 4 years, definitely I found improved food quality. The Tom Yum soup still was average, but I liked the Beef salad. I have not seen this salad in other Thai places, and this one did impress me. Also ordered Lemongrass chicken that was quite good too, although a bit on the sweeter side. Another disappointment was Roti Curry. The Roti was hard and seemed to be old, cooked and reheated few times.
Cannot say it is great food, just an average thai food. In fact I was very upset with their Pad Thai and Full Garlic Fish. Their mango salad was good but again nothing extraordinary from other Thai cusines. Same with Tom Yum soup, I have had better Tom Yum soups
A bit too tight sitting but good food, wine list and service. Outdoor seating is good too when the weather is nice.
Day 2 of operation in Walnut Creek in plaza behind Trader Joe’s. Metered parking. Both food and service was top notch. We had spring rolls, lemongrass chicken, and green curry. The curry heat level was perfect for me and the ingredients and flavors were fresh and delicious. The family-run restaurant has experience at 2 other Bay Area locations, so it’s no surprise that the Walnut Creek operation is running so well just after opening.
Awesome food and wonderful ambiance.
Lovely menu. My husbands chicken came in half a pineapple. My eggplant with chicken and shrimp was perfect. Excellent service.
Most unique tasting thai food. Every dish is very flavorful and has a unique taste. Not your next door thai restaurant. Highly recommend
I had a great time there with some friends for lunch, and the food was absolutely delicious. The service was equally impressive, and our server, Brandon, was incredibly polite and patient with us when we had questions/confusion about the takeout boxes. Unfortunately, we realized after leaving that we forgot to leave a tip, which we feel very bad about :/. We'll double tip him next time!
Delicious food and amazing service
Great vegan options and great service
Extremely small restaurant be careful with their false wait times. Waited 15 mins and their estimate was another 15 minutes. 15 minutes turned into an hour. Total wait time 75 minutes and still no table. If they would’ve told us an accurate estimate we would’ve left instead of providing false hope.
A small quaint restaurant. Good service and good food
Met a friend here for lunch today. This is her favorite thai place and it's close to her home in SR. She ordered a "thai" salad (nice ingredients, including prawns). I got the Pad Thai. I always measure how good a thai restaurant by their Pad Thai. The food here is good (but a bit overpriced). My pad thai was $12. It came with soup (warm, not hot). Her salad was $14.50 (mostly lettuce/greens ). Service was attentive and competent. She loved the salad and I liked the pad thai. I deducted a star because I thought the salad was a bit limited and the pad thai was just an average serving. Sala Thai (Fremont) is the best thai food I've ever eaten. And I give them 5 stars. This, was a bit below that. Hence, the 4-stars. This is a hugely busy restaurant. So, you need to get here exactly at 11am (opening) or after the lunch crowd at 130pm. To get seated, you utilize the "Yelp reservation system". While it's a bit time consuming and clunky, this is how they seat customers.
Amazing Thai food
Good Thai food in a clean and tasteful environment with attentive and efficient service. We really liked the thai basil and green curry dishes. Ingredients are fresh and high quality, our family of 4 felt the variety of meats we had were some of the best of asian restaurants we eat at. We also had the thai fried rice and pad see yew; the pad see yew had a hint of sweetness that we didn't care for in a savory dish.
One of the worst restaurants in terms of customer service. They don’t give preference to small groups, they only encourage larger groups. I had been to this restaurant with my wife today for dinner, though we added our names in waitlist, they started to give tables to people with larger groups that came much later than us. We just left the restaurant looking at the rude waitresses. I’ll never visit this restaurant or encourage any one with smaller groups visiting this restaurant!!
Wait 25 min per dish
Ordered food at 7pm, reached the cuisine at 7:30pm to pickup, and paid as well. The food is still not ready until 8pm. They should inform that it would take an hour when ordering the food so the customer can avoid if they cannot wait. It is waste of time.
I love the place, so is my family. It's always a go to place for us to dine in.
My go to for Thai food. Big fan of this place and all their dishes.
First time visit to Andeman Thai for my wife's birthday. The smells of the food when you first walk makes one's mouth water.
Friday night, so the place got busy fast. The Lady Fingers appetizer was a tasty treat. I didn't specify a spiciness for the drunken noodles, so when they came out they were quite a bit milder than what I would prefer (I like a bit of heat). The duck curry was interesting, as was the garlic asparagus. Again, I would probably ask them to turn up the heat a little on the curry, as the duck and the pineapple both knock down the spiciness a bit.
The wait staff was pleasant and on point, though it take a while for the main dishes to come out. Also I don't know if it was because it was a cold evening, or if we were just slow, but our dishes cooled off pretty quickly.
Still it was a fun visit, and there are a lot of tempting dishes on the menu. We'll likely be back for another round.
Very time we are getting a take out -- getting worse and worse. I am almost sure that was oir last tine ordering from here.
Not horrible yet, but not good either.
Roti -- we simply just threw it away.
Our favorite Thai place in the trivalley area. Tasty food
Place looked pretty decent. We were early for dinner so we got seated right away. People who came after 7 were waiting long. Great food. Loved everything we ordered here.
Food Delicious, I like the autumn decorations in the store. I like the coconut soup for lunch.
Always reliable. For quick Thai Food that can satisfy your cravings. perfectly crispy roti. While I prefer their sister location in Danville, Andaman will not disappoint.
I had the Tofu Madness and it was excellent! Full of wonderful vegetables, peppercorns on the vine and plenty of tofu. Spicy dish, make sure you like it hot
Very good food, a little busy tonight... but that's a good thing!
I’m highly disappointed with my experience with this place. I placed an order over the phone and I was given an order ready time of 20-25 minutes. My order was not ready for 45 minutes. After complaining about the wait it felt like the hosts was brushing me off to take care of other matters. I understand that orders can take a long time to fulfill if you are busy. But please provide a more accurate time frame so I can plan my trip and be more attentive to people who are upset about the service you are providing.
Please note this is not the only time they have given the wrong time for an order and have made me wait for it to be ready. It is just upsetting to feel like you are brushed off when you actually do complain about the situation
Good place to hangout with Taiwanese food
One of the best thai places in San Ramon.
We have been here few times and the food always made us happy. If you like really spicy food then khau king Kai will not disappoint you!
Good Thai food
Excellent food and atmosphere. Peppercorn Beef was amazing!!! Thank you Andaman Thai, just what I needed today.
Worth trip, but go during off peak hours. Too crowded, poor service at lunch times.
Food is okay. Good to try and form comparisons to other local Thai restaurants.
Amazing! If you are a veggie, golden tofu is a must 😋
Awesome Pumkin curry and service! My togo order was ready in 20 minutes!
