Delicious is an understatement. Red curry with pieces of chicken is what i ordered, The portion was very filling. Food as piping hot and fresh and you can choose how spicy you would like your dish. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Fast service, i would return again. Now thats what i call a happy belly. Beautiful presentation, the small salad had a peanut dressing. Very delicious.
I was looking for Thai food and came across this restaurant. I visited around 7:15 pm. There was hardly anyone at the restaurant. I got a table and ordered Crispy Tofu and Mixed Vegetables. The order reached my table in under a few minutes. By the time the main course arrived, the restaurant had a good amount of crowd. The Crispy Tofu came with sweet tamarind sauce sprinkled with crushed peanuts. It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It had more than ten pieces(their menu said ten!) on the plate, but I managed to savor it all. The Mixed Vegetables had stir-fried cabbage, zucchini, broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, green beans, and bean sprouts. It came with a portion of rice. I enjoyed this as well. Given the portion size for what I ordered, I felt their pricing was moderate. The restaurant offers a casual dining experience. I found it cozy while enjoying my meal. Their staff took care of my table and ensured everything was good with the order. Overall, I had a delightful meal and dining experience at this restaurant! If you are looking for Thai food in the Downtown area, you could try this one.
we ordered the lunch special with the spicy fried rice, drunken noodles, hot basil with shrimp, green curry, thai iced tea, and tom yum soup.
tom yum - 3/5 the flavor was great but it was very salty
spicy fried rice - 5/5
drunken noodles - 5/5
hot basil with shrimp - 5/5
thai iced tea - 5/5 really delicious!!
green curry - 3/5 also too salty
The food was delicious. I have a wonderful family dinner at the restaurant. I really like the Drunken noodle which tastes well. The noodles texture is creamy with eggs, flavored with basil, beef is soft, and broccoli and bell peppers are fresh. The noodles are moderately soft. My husband said the pad Thai is very good. The Tom Yum soup is moderately sweet and sour and delicious. The price of the items is moderate but the plate is huge and plentiful. My kids are difficult eaters but they love to eat chicken here. They ate it all up and the chicken plate with up to 9 large chicken pieces was too cheap.
Ordered the Spicy Noodles Spice Level 5 with pork. Mildly spicy (as expected) - sharing more for those unsure what spice level to get. you can also tell the noodle recipe alone is rich in quality, many herbs and spices combine for a savory lunch! Quality ingredients and generous portion size. No I did not receive incentives to write this review either!
GO TO A DIFFERENT THAI PLACE & DO NOT ORDER HERE — TERRIBLE QUALITY AND OVERPRICED.
“Shrimp” spring rolls are stuffed with iceberg lettuce and thin slivers of shrimp. Outer wrapper was overcooked and tasted rubbery. The “Thai peanut sauce” was a congealed grocery store JIF peanut butter glob, not a sauce.
Pad Thai was $20 ($2 extra for beef) for sickly sweet, rubbery red noodles that tasted like MAYO out of all things. NO TAMARIND, Lime, fish sauce, nothing authentic. Barely any meat, if you can call the bits of hardened dry beef “meat”. TERRIBLE TASTE, POOR QUALITY, NOT AUTHENTIC.
TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE AND GO TO A DIFFERENT THAI PLACE. Do not waste your money here.
This place is a hole in the wall. Food is definitely old and not fresh at all especially the beef, really old and chewy. Their veggies aren't the freshest as well, tasted off when I was eating the cucumbers in the beef fried rice. Save your money and find some other thai place to go that actually uses fresh ingredients instead of trying to use foods that taste like they are going bad.
We asked for utensils items such as forks; spoons; chopsticks & napkins were present. It was great!
Soup was warm and veggies tender.
Spring rolls warm with sweet sauce.
Gyoza package nicely w a sweet dark sauce as well.
We loved it; service is kind; food is fresh; fav late evening spot.
What a sweet Lady and great food! We came in for quick appetizers before our show at the Civic Center. The food and timing were perfect!!!
Legitimately the best Thai food in all of San Diego. 10/10 every single time and the service is always the best. My favorite tom kha soup anywhere
Love everything about this place… I literally travel from Philly to eat at this place while on work… I recommend it! The Pad See you is soooo good!
The service was great, it felt like we were being taken care of by family. Food was delicious and came out quickly- we had the pad see ew and panang curry and the flavor. & spice was perfect.
Love it! Nice little hole in the wall place, with great food, and great service. I get the spicy noodles with chicken, and it’s so good!
Somehow I was the only lunch customer. I had one meal there and hot the other to go. The one that I had on site was great but the one that I got as to go was not that great. They are essentially the same pad thais while the one on site was full of protein (meat, fish, bacon, etc) but the to go wa s pretty much noodle alone. Willing to revisit.
“spectacular, give me 14 of em right now.” food was SO GOOD! I recommend the Panang Curry. great portion size. friendly staff. fast service. *chef’s kiss*
Drunking noodles dish is very salty and has no flavor. I threw it in the trash after a couple of bites.
Amazing food and great ambiance
I love this place. Too bad the last couple of times I've been in San Diego I found it closed.
Nice owner. My stir fried was amazing ! If you’re in town you should definitely try !! Thank you
What a gem this was! The food here was absolutely delicious. The server was so kind and helpful. There are plenty of vegetarian options. It's a little ways away from Gas Lamp street so not a lot of foot traffic around 11.00. We had the combo pho, spicy fried rice, thai time fried rice and mock chicken pad thai. Would recommend all of them. The sticky rice with mango was over the charts.
Excellent food! We came here on a Thursday evening and were seated immediately. The food came very fast and was delicious! I recommend the faux duck tofu. We will definitely come here again the next time we're in the area.
Great little whole in the wall Thai place. Food was pretty good and the lady serving us was nice. We sat outside as it was a bit warm inside the restaurant. Definitely worth going back.
Ordered from Doordash. Pho was ok, nothing special. No utensils, no napkins. Made it difficult to eat in a hotel.
Food wasn’t so tasty compared to the other Thai Time location in North Park.
I got SO sick after eating here. MSG and toxic chemicals!!! NOT WORTH IT. The tomkha soup was flavored decent, but LOADED with MSG and potentially other toxins (pesticides, herbicides, forever chemicals since non-organic, etc.) I had extreme nerve and back pain for days, and my intestines were incredibly inflamed, painful, distended for many days after eating this food. The place seemed a bit dirty and run down. I am just so, so sick after eating this food and it is taking a long time to recover.
I have been to a lot of different Thai food places … this place is amazing.
I'm from LA, so I don't have a point of reference in SD for Thai food. Came in pretty late, but they were closing in an hour. Ordered their pad see ew, level 9 spicy (I'm a chili head), and it was phenomenal. I cleaned the plate off. I'd give this place a 5 if the service was better. They forgot to make an item and charged us, and the other items (shrimp spring roll) was just okay. Overall, highly recommended.
Very cozy spot to enjoy your meal. Amazing food.
Delicious!!!!!!!!
I’ll eat almost anything. But the Pad Thai was just noodles that tasted like they were tossed in not very good sweet and sour sauce ??? What?? The portion was huge so it’s a lot of bad food if that’s what you’re looking for.
I typed Chinese food nearby in Google Maps but nothing really close looked appetizing. But I noticed the Maps also included this restaurant so I figured, okay. After all, it has been a while since I had a nice plate of Pad Thai. Ordered it to go with mock chicken along with a Thai iced tea and took it back to my hotel room. Portion size was massive. Dove in with my chopsticks and started feasting on it. The dish was 90% noodles and could have used a little more fresh bean sprouts and maybe some fresh basil but otherwise a very satisfying meal.
Hidden gem. I've been here twice and both times were a positive experience. Right by the Westin Gaslamp. It wasn't busy but the food was very good. Generous portions and the staff was attentive. Would go here again.
El mejor arroz frito
el parking es free despues de las 6 o 7

Amazing Thai food and incredible owners. They’re always so nice and welcoming whenever you go there. Any time I’m in town I go there and the wife remembers me. Highly recommend!
we ordered the lunch special with the spicy fried rice, drunken noodles, hot basil with shrimp, green curry, thai iced tea, and tom yum soup.
tom yum - 3/5 the flavor was great but it was very salty
spicy fried rice - 5/5
drunken noodles - 5/5
hot basil with shrimp - 5/5
thai iced tea - 5/5 really delicious!!
green curry - 3/5 also too salty

Absolute rudest staff and the lady their a older thai woman was extremely disgusting and disrespectful I would never recommend this place to go here ever. 30 minutes waiting for food and I got a parking ticket and still didn't get my food
The dining experience was delightful, and the food was exceptionally delicious during our family dinner at the restaurant. I particularly enjoyed the Drunken Noodle, which was well-flavored. The noodles had a creamy texture with eggs, infused with the fragrance of basil. The beef was tender, and the broccoli and bell peppers were fresh. The noodles maintained a delightful moderate softness. My husband praised the Pad Thai for its excellent taste. The Tom Yum soup had a delightful balance of sweetness and sourness, making it thoroughly enjoyable.
While the prices for the dishes were moderate, the portions were generous and substantial. Even my picky-eater kids enjoyed the chicken, finishing every piece on their plates. The chicken plate, featuring up to 9 large pieces, was surprisingly affordable.
GO TO A DIFFERENT THAI PLACE & DO NOT ORDER HERE — TERRIBLE QUALITY AND OVERPRICED.

Delicious! Loved the cashew dish with beef
Pad Thai, Beef Yellow curry and spring rolls was a BLAST!!! Service was kind from start to finish. Going back when in DTSD.
Freaking DELICIOUS! This place got me addicted to eating pad Thai. Their orange chicken is also divine
Good food good prices...
I can always rely on a tasty Thai meal for not much money.
Well done.. basic but great Thai food.
My wife and I loved it. Best Thai food we have had.
Absolutely wonderful Thai food, and some of the nicest employees I’ve ever met!
Quick service, great food. Only critical is the crockery was a little older and shows significant wear.
Don’t get the pho. It tasted weird as if it had soy sauce or something. It was brown and gross.
Food is really good
The taste is not that great. The order was confused by the waitress 2 times. Have had better thai food elsewhere.
Very delicious food! Would recommend to anyone!
irresponsible, and slow working
I've actually only ordered delivery here from Doordash but this Thai Time location has steamed potstickers which are my favorite and the other locations don't have them anymore. Also, at this location (downtown) I've noticed that they haven't changed any of the recipes when the other location (north park) seems to have made some changes that I don't like as much. Favorite dishes are the green curry with mock duck (just delicious, I'm not vegetarian or vegan) with white or jasmine rice level 5 (out of 10)/medium spice, which is pretty spicy, the drunken noodles with chicken, same spice level, the fresh spring rolls with either shrimp or tofu (with peanut dipping sauce) and the steamed potstickers. SO good and the downtown location is always tastier for some reason. I've only had delivery, so I've never actually been in or seen the place. Call ahead for hours as they vary from what's posted online, I've noticed.
Authentic thai food, delicius!😊
Phone message says closed until Mon, Sep12. Not open at noon on 18 Sep22, so their posted hours wrong for now.
I really like the food but the portions are super small for the price, they never give you a lot of protein so I tried ordering with extra but it’s just the small amount of meat so that kinda sucks since I paid extra for it
We came with our family because it was right by our hotel and the dinner was delicious and the service was lovely. The food seemed authentic to us so definitely disagree with some of these negative reviews. Def worth a try!
This is by far the worst Thai Restaurant I have ever been to, and the service was horrible and rip-off. I got there and ordered takeout 2 Large Beef Panang and Tiger Cry Steak. They said they ran out of Tiger Cry Steak, and so only Beef Panang was ordered. Waited 20 minutes for the order. Upon returning home, there was no beef in either dish. I called and they stated the cook said they put beef and sorry meat is expensive. I would appreciate it if they informed me they ran out of meat instead of placing an order they can't full fill, just as they did with Tiger Cry Steak.
Stopped by Thai Time downtown for the first time & had a great experience! We got the the lunch special with panang curry & a vegetarian pho, both of which we recommend. The service was also excellent , as is the Thai iced coffee. We will stop by next time we are in San Diego, thank you!
A great experience. I totally enjoyed the food, the portion size was good value for money. I was extremely impressed with the quality of the food very nicely presented and lots of authentic flavours. The customer service was exceptional very friendly and kind spirited. I also enjoyed the fact that I could have sat outside and enjoy the sunshine and dine
The food was not authentic Thai food. I ordered the garlic chicken wings they we’re not cooked bloody and raw! Also I ordered red curry with jasmine rice the curry was delivered cold and rice was not jasmine rice ! The wings cost $14 they wanted to charge me 1/2 price $7! Unacceptable I told them no you gonna credit me the whole $14.! I would never eat here again!
Good Thai food, tasty and fast.
菜品正宗,就餐环境还行吧
Noodles too mushy
I was sad to see people reviewed this so low because I thought it was amazing! I got there after 3 and the staff was so kind, still gave a lunch price. I had the drunken noodles and it had just enough spice! I highly recommend it, the veggies were crispy and fresh!
Had the green curry that comes with eggplant, bamboo shoots, bell-peppers, and chicken. It was bomb. They were open late (till 12am!) And i thought the service was great too. You gotta check this place out!
Thai time dowtown is really good. They have a lot of choices. You can sit down inside outside or take out. Try the lunch special mon- Friday 1130 to . Panang curry with chicken was the best comes with a little bit of salad with peanut dressing, a small egg roll and a wonton. Don't forget to tell them how spicy you want the curry from 1 to 10. So delicious!
The food was amazing and incredibly fresh, the place was gorgeous, and mimi (our server) was incredibly nice
Great food, and great service. Our server was Mimi and she was very kind and did a wonderful job. The vegetables and meat were very fresh. Thank you!
A lifesaver at 10pm after a long transcontinental flight. Delicious food, friendly service. Thank you!!
The lunch special is an amazing value, they give you more than enough food for $10-12 depending on what you get. And the food is top notch!
Great portions for the lunch specials and friendly owners! The red curry and iced tea were amazing.
Best som tum I have been able to find in SD! Most places make it overly sweetened but Thai time does it right. I also ordered Pad Thai with tofu, and asked for extra veggies. They did not disappoint! Most places would ignore that request but they really hooked me up. Very tasty, and open late!! Highly recommend.
Best Thai food i’ve had in a long time! The people were nice too. 10/10 recommend.
Got the shrimp pad thai - amazing! just wish they sent more lemon slices
Love the thai tea and drunken noodles and the caribou wings
I order off uber eats, the brisket and rare steak and paid for extra rare steak and what did I get all the steak in the hott broth so now my steak isn't rare anymore. Whats the point of ordering rare steak if your just gonna put it into the hott broth.
Good place to eat its kinda hidden but it's well worth it definitely recommend
Delicious lunch specials! Had jury duty and was craving Thai. I eat a lot of it and this is simply delicious and large portion.
Best 😊 Thai in San Diego. Hands down. Comfy atmosphere, could have used some mood music...however the company was good so it turned out great. Waitress was sweet and attentive but didn't pester. Food was swift, fresh, hot and so delicious!! A+ ;) Everything else e ordered was top notch...right down to the scrumptious Thai tea.
We had never had Thai food before, so we asked for suggestions on what to get. Traveling with 2 little ones and not liking spicy food myself, the food that was suggested for us to try was amazing. We enjoyed the conversation with the people who work at the restaurant. We went back again before we left for home.
One of the best vegetarian Thom Kha Soups I’ve ever had, full of flavor, veggies and tofu. The staff is super sweet, place is low key, inexpensive and good.
We ordered the food through doordash, the curry fried rice and pad thai (both chicken). Both were under cooked and had bad smell. Raw turmeric smell was making it more horrible for curry fried rice. My wife and little daughter fell sick and vomited due to indgestion suffered after eating this food.
Buena comida y buen servicio, se puede pedir para llevar desde su app o página web.
Good food . Decent price.
ABSOLUTELY THE BIGGEST RIP-OFF THE QUALITY AND QUANTITY OF THIS FOOD WAS THE WORST! $64.00 DOWN THE DRAIN BAD, BAD BAD EXPERIENCE
Delicious Crab fried rice! I also ordered the teriyaki chicken which I would not recommend.
I used Door Dash to order Pad Thai. It was fresh and delicious. I have to the spice level was comparable to those overseas. If you are not a spicy fan than I would consider keeping it mild.
Real Thai food from real Thai people. Excellent.
Chow mein wasn't good tasted like the microwave $2 Ramen you get from grocery store i had beef added and it came with barely any... also got the red curry, wasn't good and wasn't spicy at all... will not come back
This is one of the few places that’s opened late. I ordered drunken noodles and pad Thai for takeout. The pad Thai was better than the drunken noodles. The food came really hot and good. The only negative thing I have to say is that I asked for no bean sprouts and there was still a small side of bean sprouts with my pad Thai. Good thing I’m not allergic to it.
My favorite green curry with mock duck :) tofu rolls and peanut sauce are the best.
¡Deliciosos todos los platillos y las porciones son muy generosas!
¡Deliciosa comida!
Their curries are amazing! I have tried all three and don't have a favorite.
My new favorite place! Food is always fresh and the staff is always very friendly! Not to be confused with other restaurants with the same name! If you’re ever in downtown SD you must eat here! 10 ⭐️
Shrimp spring rolls were so delicious. The pad Thai I ordered was supposed to be level ZERO spice, but somehow it arrived extremely spicy and now I have to throw it away because I don’t have milk. Disappointed. It could have been great if the person making it looked at notes saying “no spice”.
Sunset Hot Wings (12 Pcs)
Thai Chow Mein
Chicken Pho
The food is good every time. So tasty & mildly spicy! the wings!!!!
Terrible service please heed my warning many other better quality tai establishments even the mom and pop type well surpassed this place
I visited this place back in December last year. I loved the food here. I ordered a Veg Pad See You without eggs for takeaway. The food was very tasty. The lady who took my order was super friendly and suggested a few veg dishes too that would be good. I went with pad see you! Will definitely visit this place again if i am in San Diego! If you are ordering a takeaway, be sure to keep the box flat as there are high chances that it will leak. So pack well!
Amazing food!!
Nice Service and the best Thai Food in Town
Thai Time was a nice place to have a solo lunch. Almost as soon as I sat down I was provided water and the house soup. I wasn’t a fan of the soup but was highly impressed by the quick attention and pleasant service. I had the spicy fried rice with chicken lunch combo. It came with a small salad, fried wonton, and spring roll. It was more than enough food. I asked for mild spice on my rice and it had a noticeable kick but not mouth burning.
The food was reasonably priced! Good tasting with a substantial portion!
Great food and best prices for lunch downtown
Easy going Thai-food
Neat shop in the heart of old town Stockholm.
Good Thai food
Friendly staff and the food is quite delicious
This location jacks their prices up at least 50% higher than their other locations. The food is good but it is definitely worth the trip to their other location in North Park, its way cheaper and has a better ambiance
My experience in this restaurant, highly recommend !
Even the restaurant has low rate , but I had really nice experience in here. The restaurant still have many people come and enjoy..
People in here is Thai people , the way they made really good ! I have been to Thai many times so the taste in here similar.
Hope the restaurant have more good rate by day !
This place really is not bad, I stopped here for a late night soup being it's a bit chilly out.
I got the gyoza soup small
Plenty of flavor of flavor in the broth and the fried gyoza was tasty. They had four option of sauces and chili flakes which I took advantage of all very tasty, sriracha, a chili sauce, soy sauce and the chili flakes
Service was attentive, even though I paid before I sat down. Much better than the 1 star they were given
This restaurant has the rudest employee working there. At first me and a friend had ordered to pick up but decided to just dine in. My friend food was not ready when we got there so she had to wait. Then when her food came she ordered it with chicken but what we saw on the soup does not look close to a chicken. I also asked if we can get napkins and she goes you have one right there and I told her yes I do have one but she doesn't and i'm not the only one who is eating here. Then we asked for water and condiments. The water came in after 5 mins and mind this the restaurant was not even busy. Then the lady that works there came up to us and asked if everything was ok. I said yes and had given up asking for the condiment but my friend said we still have not gotten the condiment.... After she brought the condiment and she is like everything is ok right. I said yes and then she goes oh our service requires tips... First and foremost that is so rude. Tips are given to people that provides you good service. We did not get that from her. So was just so rude talking to both of us. This place have decent food but the service sucks!
