Thai cuisine is light, fresh and traditionally seasoned with chili peppers and aromatic herbs. A gourmet delight for those who know and love authentic food. It also has a temper, but you can have Thai cuisine in a pleasant blend of "spicy hot" and "spicy not." You decide. Enjoy!
We are proud of our unique characteristics and intricate food preparation techniques. Each dish is prepared to order using a memorable blend of the best quality ingredients and sophisticated cooking arts. This perfect harmony is Taste of Thai's secret
My husband and I had dinner today. We love Thai food. It was our first time here and we decided to order other Thai dishes that we do not usually order. We had Pork Shanks and Krapow Gai Khai Dao with Jasmine rice. We had level 3 for spiciness for both. We love both dishes. Both were delicious. We love the cook on the egg included in the Krapow dish. The restaurant was very clean and service was excellent and fast. Since tomorrow is Father’s Day, they gave every male customer a cupcake. That was very nice.
We've been to the same restaurant in Hilcrest and we asked if they have the same owner and they did. The food and prices are very reasonable. We got one of their most popular dishes Khai Soi curry noodles and it was perfect with my cup of rice. We also got Chicken larb and Seafood tomyum soup and everything was very flavorful and tastes like the one in Hilcrest. It's located in a residential area in 4S ranch and has a simple and cozy interior and outside seating.
A lovely Thai food spot. All the dishes we ordered were tasty and perfectly cooked.
The restaurant was very clean and didn’t have any stale smells.
Nice clean place! Service was good and not over the top. The food felt freshly made. Lots of food for the price. Will come back again.
Good food with some non-standard Thai options. The yentaifo noodles had fresh tasting seafood though the pink color is a little off putting initially.
Good prompt service.
Enjoyed the decor - the main wall of feather shaped tiles looked labor intensive to install. Love that there’s a raw edge table in the middle for larger groups.
Great Thai

The restaurant was very clean and didn’t have any stale smells.
Pad thai was pretty good. Decent portions and very reasonably priced.
Not bad
Ordered takeaway for the first time today. We tried green curry with beef, rice noodles with tofu, rice sticky with mango and papaya salad. It was so delicious that we didn't have time to take a photo. Thank you!
Amazing Food and Service.
Was there for lunch . Had great Vegetarian options.
I tried it once and I am not going back. The food was terrible. The Thai tea overwhelmingly sweet
Discussing food and service!!!
New ownership and complete disaster
The food was so spicy that we couldn’t finish it
No lunch specials however chicken moist and not dry and overall delicious!
You guys Stepped up your game ...
Will try to come back more often and figure out your spice level metric.
Some places a 4 is a 7 at others...

Fantastic! Loved that they let you pick the spice level and that everything was really fresh tasting with lots of veggies and not too much salt or oil. Location is gorgeous. Would recommend the yellow chicken curry (spice level 7), cashew chicken, and the soft veggie tofu. Great combo. Fantastic mango sticky rice as well.
When there are so many different thai options in the area being average is just not going to cut it.
Good food and good, friendly service. All at a fair price.
Pangang curry was old and was starting to smell. I couldn’t eat it and not sure why they would let this be delivered. Bad experience.
I love this place. I get the Tom khar soup
This is my family’s favorite place for Thai! Food is excellent and the service is always fast and friendly. 💕😋
Great food and great service
Take out portions are miniscule compared to when you dine in. Disappointed.
"Taste of Thai" nails the freshness game! The food there is not your typical Thai—it's like they've got a secret stash of the freshest veggies and meats. Every bite feels like a flavor explosion, and you can tell they put care into picking top-notch ingredients. It's not just tasty; it's a fresh food party. So, if you're tired of the same old Thai, give "Taste of Thai" a go—they're doing freshness right!- Highly recommended for Vegetarian
Food was excellent!
Spicy noodles 🍜
This was my favorite restaurant when I was growing up in San Diego and it remains my favorite restaurant in San Diego almost 30 years later
Absolutely order the spicy noodles and panang curry. Medium spicy for both is plenty.
Their food is amazing and they give you giant portions. Definitely try their crab rangoon.
Good food with some non-standard Thai options. The yentaifo noodles had fresh tasting seafood though the pink color is a little off putting initially.

Good quality & tasty Thai food at affordable prices.
This is my first time posting a negative review on google, but I almost feel I have to warn others. I am reading all the positive reviews, and I am wondering if they hired a new cook or something. This may very well be the worst meal I have ever had at a restaurant. The sampler starter tasted like it had been taken straight out of the freezer and warmed up in the microwave, all mushy and soggy. The ped krob kraprao is advertised as crispy, but it was not crispy at all, and the taste was rancid. The pad soon sen was absolutely tasteless. I had a few bites and I could not eat any more. The service was great. When they saw I did not like my noodles they offered to bring another dish, and, when I said no, they took the dish off my bill. Good service, really bad food. If you are in 4S and crave Thai food, you may just go to Gor Gai in Del Sur for half the price.

Grateful house chicken with Thai curry. Great flavors and friendly service. Prices are very reasonable.
Excellent food, great service. Atmosphere was warm and inviting.
So so good! The food is amazing! Duck curry outstanding! The staff are super friendly and enjoying their job. Great place.
BEST THAI FOOD EVER!!!!
I eat a lot of Thai food...... Usually it's all about the same, but this is now FAVORITE Thai restaurant I have ever been to!!!!
I thought maybe it was just the Green Curry was exceptional, but after a few rounds of salivating over the Green Curry I got up the nerve to try more of the menu and everything else is equally as amazing.... Even the tofu is amazing???
I could easily eat at this place daily....
Luckily it is in the same complex as Jimbos so every time I get groceries I make an excuse to grab a bit at Taste of Thai!!
The staff is also really nice and friendly.
I could not recommend this place any higher....
Also pro tip - if you're ordering online, order off their website versus the other third parties!! They keep more money and also they have cheaper prices on their menu versus third party sites!!
Yummy food, most with a gluten free option (they have gf soy sauce). No msg upon request. If you are in a hurry, call ahead. Sometimes they are VERY busy.
Always delicious. I haven’t had anything here that has been bad or even average.
The taste is the same as the old location, which burned years ago.
No other Thai restaurants have a spicy noodles as they have here.
Food was good, service was great and the restaurant was very nice and clean with a great atmosphere. Prices were reasonable for the area but big portion sizes. Might come back to try other dishes
We've been here multiple times for take out and always have a good experience.
Ordered Pad Thai takeout and it was absolutely flavorless. Certainly not even close to the best thai food in this area as you have to go further south for authentic thai food, this area has had some thai places close down due to covid. This Taste of Thai opened only recently and was super excited to try it close to my home, expecting it to be just as good as the Taste of Thai location in Del Mar but it didn’t come anywhere close. Lacking in any flavor and authenticity.
Terrible service. They speak english very bad and messed up with my order. I also found a roach on the floor =|
A new Thai restaurant opened in my neck of the woods and I definitely have to try it out. Went for lunch with my neighbor today. Parking was a breeze, it's located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. Upon walking into the restaurant, I was impressed by the ambiance. Exotic Southeast Asia style meets the rustic Western country flavor.
Service was a bit slow to start with. We arrived 10 minutes before noon and nobody came seat there. The two of us stood there awkwardly for a few minutes until we were told that we could just pick a table to seat ourselves.
The menu looks decent with creative house special dishes and traditional Thai dishes. I ordered Panang curry with shrimp, brown rice, and extra vegetable. They did give me extra vegetables which is super nice. I like the variety of vegetables compared to other Thai restaurants. It comes with string beans, green peppers, broccoli, and onion. Vegetables are chopped in medium size not too chunky which is a plus for me. The sauce is thick, salty, and sweet, with a zesty makrut lime flavor. I can taste galangal, cumin, and garlic in the source. It is very authentic and has the right amount of coconut milk. The portion was big. I got around 7 medium-sized shrimp which is generous for a dish like this.
I would recommend this restaurant if you are into Thai food and in the neighborhood. Service was a bit slow but the food and ambiance made up for it.
Great choice of gluten free options. We had Panang curry (gluten free) and pad Thai noodles. The taste was good even with a spice level of 5.
Their food is so delicious, and their portions are extremely generous! The first time I went there I got the Mixed Vegetables with Jasmine Rice. Incredible flavor, and the vegetables were cooked too perfection! I will definitely be going back, and often!
Ordered hot basil chicken and tofu with mushrooms for takeout. The food was wrapped carefully and ready promptly. Both dishes were delicious! We highly recommend this place!
Food was tasty, purchased the crab fried rice, and couldn't really enjoy it as it had some of the shell chopped into it . It's really hard to enjoy when every few bites you're biting down on something hard & crunchy.
The server was very friendly, great service and the food very good. Their desserts are also very delicious.
I wish I could give them 0 star. I found a sharp metal ( I think it was a staple ) in my food . I will never ever go there
Chew well and pay attention on what you put in your mouth if you go there !!
This place is amazing. One of the best Thai restaurants I’ve ever been too. Everything has lots of flavor and is amazing.
Great to see a Taste of Thai pop up in the north county area to somewhat replace the one that closed in Encinitas. Small staff on a Saturday afternoon and some of the service was a tad slow in getting the order but overall was fine. The roast duck noodle soup had all the flavors, if just a bit lighter, that I remembered, but maybe a bit too heavy on the bean sprouts.
We enjoyed our lunch. I love the spice. I got a spicy level 5 and my husband an 8. Our food was good. We will be back. Next time we will add more heat.
Best basil chicken and Thai iced coffee! Driving thru and found this gem! Pretty interior. Nice outdoor seating. Great ambiance! What a treat!
This is the best Thai restaurant in San Diego…their vegan/vegetarian options are amazing and it’s my favorite place to eat!
This is my new favorite Thai restaurant. I have been here twice now and the food is excellent!
First time ordering and it has been a few years since we’ve had good Thai food. The spice level was perfect. We ordered panang vegetables level 3, spicy noodles level 6, eggplant tofu level 6 and pad prig khing with chicken level 6. Our favorite was pad prig khing, it was perfect. The spicy noodle tasted good, but was slightly dry. I would 100% recommend Taste of Thai.
Probably the best Thai food around this area now.
Excellent service
Came for the first time today and got the spicy noodle and panang curry both spice level 6. both were really good and i was pleasantly surprised by the quantity of chicken in both the dishes. spice level was perfect and great service as well. had the thai tea and passion fruit tea. overall, extremely impressed and can’t wait to come back
Food was horrible!!!! Pad Thai was dry with no taste. Curry was more like a soup. Do not come here!! Thai2you is amazing and is right down the street.
First meal at new 4S Ranch Taste of Thai location was exactly same as last meal from the Del Mar location right before it burned down in 2019…AMAZING! I have been dining at Taste of Thai for 20 years and have tried almost every Thai restaurant in San Diego. Taste of Thai is my all-time favorite. I would recommend to anyone.
Great food and service. Quality and flavor were exceptional.
My family and I walked in and stood near the doorway for about 5 min. Not one person working in the restaurant acknowledged us. There were a handful of workers walking around busy and no one even glanced our way. I’m not sure anyone noticed when we left. It was odd.
Tom Khar soup with chicken was great. Beef Satay was excellent as well. This place is definitely above 4 stars.
We were so looking forward to this restaurant opening. We had 4 items and none of them had any flavor or "punch" to them. Chicken was over cooked and made significantly in advance of our ordering it. Plus the item were not hot...barely warm. Hate to say it, but it was not acceptable. There were only 3 table copied when I picked up my order. Now I know why. Disappointed
We got 3 take out meals and none of them had flavor at all. The Pad Thai had no peanut flavor like there was a major missing ingredient. The yellow curry very bland as well. They didn't ask what spice level we wanted, but it wasn't just missing spice, but actual flavor. Maybe a new cook? The chicken wing appetizer was good so we tried to flavor our meals with the dipping sauce that came with it. Disappointed!
Easily the best Thai Restaurant in the area! Their other locations are phenomenal as well.
