This place is incredible. Lots of flavor in every dish we've ordered and friendly no pressure customer service with a calm ambiance. We live in Southpark with tons of Thai restaurants around but we still prefer the taste of Pear's Thai. It's affordable and a quick 10 minute drive on the Fwy. I recommend it to all Thai food lover's
Many good things to say about this place. They have generous portions, quick takeout, tasty dishes, and good prices. The Num Tok beef was delicious, has a nice fresh lime flavor. My boyfriend enjoyed the panang curry. I asked for mild but it was a bit too spicy for me, more like a medium.
It’s the best Thai food ever hands down. Super fresh. Huge portions and great flavor. Not the friendliest service but we always do takeout. I personally wouldn’t eat in the restaurant.
Food is okay. The worker was so uninterested in the restaurant and the food, it was comical. I asked him for recs and he said it's just like going to mcdonalds. Get a big mac. He wasn't a jerk though, just uninterested. It was pretty hot inside too.
The food is excellent.
I feel like the guy that works here is always busy, so don't go in expecting to be pampered, but he'll get you your food and water when you need it and it will be delicious.
I've tried the Pad Thai, Panang Curry, and the Pineapple Chicken Fried Rice so far and it's all delicious. I was making my way through the menu each time I go but I'm just so hooked to the Pineapple Fried Rice that I've stopped trying other options there. My friends love what they get too.
Plus, it's quiet as I believe most people just order out, so it's a great place to catch up with a friend.
Incredibly rude service… please avoid!
Great place!
Awesome meal - and excellent service.

Excellent food, great service

Did carry-out, so no opinion on atmosphere. Great food, timely made. Restaurant is on west side of building, "other" side from other retail shops. Walk clockwise around the building, and you'll eventually find your food.
Delicious food and super friendly service!
Bad experience, dined here today afternoon. Came for lunch, the veggies, basil and chicken were not fresh, felt like they were cooked long time ago. Customer Service was very rude as well. Would not recommend to anyone!
The food is excellent.

So good we had to go two Saturdays in a row! Ordered pad Thai, pad see ew, Thai Basil, Panang Curry, & all of it phenomenal. Best Thai flavors we have had I think. We got it to-go and the gentleman kindly brought it over before I was fully out of the car. Everything hot and fresh. Spice level is high so maybe go down a number or two from your usual spice level 😉
The BEST Thai food in the area.
The food is great, and comes out within 15 minutes. I come here on my lunch and the food tastes very authentic!
I recently ordered two asparagus beef meals from this restaurant, and unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. The main issue was the amount of meat in both dishes was barley noticeable in BOTH dishes the portion size of the meat was so minimal that it wouldn't even be satisfactory for a kids ..
Ordered to go, food was ready in under 10 minutes. It tasted amazing and had good spice. Plus they filled the plate all the way up. 👍🏽
This place was amazing!! I got the mango tea, combo app and drunken noodle with a level 10 spicy. The spicy was integrated into the flavor of the noodles so well, best I’ve ever had! And the mango tea was the PERFECT refresher to chase down the heat! 10/10 will be dining here again!
If using Google maps just know it might take you to the wrong car park on Aero Dr. You actually enter from Gibbs Dr. With that said you can still easily walk from the Aero Dr one if needs be. More importantly: food was exceptional, service was lovely, very relaxing ambience. It was a great spot for my friend and I to have dinner and catch up.
Pear Thai Cuisine is a waste of a trip. Expect styrofoam and plastic.
I’ve had my fair share of Thai food, but this has got to be the BEST I’ve had! My boyfriend and I got takeout while we were in San Diego for the weekend and found this restaurant on Google Maps. We both still reminisce about this place, it was sooo good! Especially the cashew chicken and the sticky mango rice. Definitely recommend!!!
I have only eaten takeout from here, but food is delicious and reasonably priced! Definitely on the spicy side!
Ate at this restaurant very fist time with my friend,no one sitting yet,The owner was very cold, with no customer service, and was always on his phone. The food was good. We finished the meal, and I said on my way out, "FOOD WAS GOOD!" Then he replied , "I know!! Did not look at us or say come again,He was very Rude,Even the food was good, will not go back because of his poor customer service skills, maybe that's why restaurant was empty.....
food was amazing. i would definitely come here again. their pad thai is great i would recommend it. most other thai places charges way too much and they overdue their flavor but with this place it tastes right and affordable.
Crab fried rice is absolutely mind-blowing. Get um with extra eggs and level 7 spicy. You will not be disappointed.
I dined here yesterday 5/22 around 1pm, very strange experience indeed.
So I walked in just after a group of 4 who the man showed to a table in the corner. I was by myself and was left to wait at the bar for a couple of minutes. When the guy came back out I greeted him and asked if I “should seat myself or…” The man asked if I knew what I wanted to eat. I was a little confused, as I was still standing at the bar, and said I wanted to eat there. He told me to pick what I wanted and then asked me to pay first. This was very unusual as I had just watched him seat the group of 4 without the same treatment. Normally, I would have just walked out at that point, but the whole situation had me stumped to be honest. So I payed for my meal and was shown to a seat. The fellow continued to be very impolite, which made me regret staying, but he had already charged my card.
I must say the food was pretty good, but this guy was extremely off-putting. May I suggest to the guy if he reads this, perhaps you should consider a job at the DMV, where your deadpan and rude nature might be more tolerable to the public.
Great food and friendly staff. Definitely a hidden gem.
Arguably the best food in San Diego!!
So fresh, so delicious, packed full of veggies, and great dessert.
Food is fresh and full of flavor. A great find.
Must enter from Gibbs Dr.
Might just be the best yellow curry ive ever had. The texture of potatoes was even on point. Rice, very good. Good size portion and super quick too. 14 bucks. Cant beat it
We ordered 7 different dishes and everything was great!
One of the best hidden gems in San Diego and one of the best Thai spots. The best num tok beef I’ve had in the area. The pad Thai is also really good. We have yet to have a bad dish. Don’t let it’s location fool you and check it out for yourself!
I absolutely love this restaurant. I love their garlic pepper and you can choose any protein you want. Out of all the Thai restaurants in San Diego, and we have eaten at most this is the best! The staff is super friendly and accommodating and remembered us after the second visit

This place is amazing got the Massaman Curry and it was flavored wonderfully. When I am back in town I will have to try the other dishes.
A hidden gem. Food was delicious. A bit of a wait for takeout, but it made fresh. Will definitely go back again.
I had pad Thai and the noodles weren’t very flavorful. I had a big portion of food but had to wait 25 minutes for take out.
Great food! Love it
Horrible customer service. I came in and asked if they were open because no one was at the front. Then when I tried to order he told he that they were to busy to serve me and that he might be able to do it later. There was no one there. I completely understand if they are busy with something but if you can’t serve customers who go to the restaurant then you should have it closed so people don’t waste time.
This is the first time I’ve had pad Thai that was SALTY. I had to put a thing of sweet and sour just to be able to eat it. The crab Rangoons had zero to no filling in them. Pretty disappointed definitely won’t be coming back.
Found a ant in my order, but the food was delicious
Excellent Thai food at reasonable prices.
First time trying it, and it was the best tasting Thai food I ever had. Thanks Kham for the recommendation. We definitely come back.
Love it!!!!!
Awesome Thai food at a fair price!
Cam is awesome this is my new favorite Thai place
This is the best curry place in San Diego. The atmosphere is awesome, they're never really busy, the price is great and the food is amazing. This is my favorite food for a rainy day.
We have now been on several occasions and have been pleased with it every time. The owner is always happy to see us, and by us I mean me, my wife, our friends, and whoever else has gone to pick up on our behalf. Everyone has good things to say about the service and the food.
I keep forgetting taking pictures everytime we order for takeout from this place.
I think this is the best thai restaurant in SD so far. All foods are soooo good🤤Never dissapointed!
Best Thai restaurant I've ever been to. Very fast service and friendly staff! My former favorite Thai place is just disappointing now after having been to Pear's. Pad See Ew, Pad Prik King and Panang Curry are must tries. Thai tea and Thai coffee are delicious as well!
Food is mediocre and overpriced..
We came in with a group of 12 and got excellent service and delicious food. Great place!
This place is great! I had it for the first time recently, and I was very surprised with their friendly and super quick service. Also, the food was delicious and the portions generous!
My favorite Thai food in the area by far!! Pad Thai & chicken fried rice are delicious!
Online prices are not up to date but the portions are decent
The best Pad Thai in the town! No competition. Everyone I’ve taken here has agreed & has become a customer.
The food is superb the price is cheap i like to come here every chance i get.
Very good Thai food. Not the cheapest place out there but one of the best for reasonable prices. -1-star for the price.
Really awesome people. Pad thai shrimp was one of the best I've had - the sauce is perfectly tangy, sweet, salty. And the pad see ew was delicious too. The som tam had a really nice kick to it. I would definitely come back!
Easy to miss but definitely worth going to.
Our family has had only positive experiences whenever we order from here. Service is friendly and the food is consistently prepared every time and everything we have tried is delicious. We love the curries, drunken noodles and house fried rice. Not only is the food amazing the portions are also HUGE. I have only got take out dinner and I can say we have leftovers every time . They never disappoint.
Excellent Thai, ordered the massaman chicken curry, chicken fried rice, and one of their specialty dishes, "Num Tok Beef". All were scrumptious! I had to make the spice level at 1 since my daughter and our 2 yr old grandson were joining us for lunch (I like 3 to 5) but everything was delicious!
Spicy 1-10 is real!! So good!
The spice is amazing! Tasty homemade, delicious thai food.
Great food!
My wife and I have been coming here for months now, as it is conveniently located near by our apartment complex. Simply put, we've never been disappointed with our take-out orders. The service is prompt and polite, and we have yet to have even a mediocre dish! Everything is at least pretty good, and the Thai Basil is the best I've ever had, personally. Highly recommend as a local take-out option!
Been coming here for years, today was stopped by to order lunch, the guy at the desk was rude and condescending. Won't be coming back...
Pear cuisine was a sister to kati thai house. Kati thai had such good food so when they closed we began going to pear cuisine. They've had two owners since then yet this owner now & all employees are their for everything you want. Great team and their food has gone up with new owner, I usually get pineapple fried rice(extra egg, green onions, no meat, & if you don't want certain ingredients they'll pull them no prob,) curry(Panang & green curry) I get extra coconut to make it milker & thicker and its just delicious, almost perfect. I don't say perfect because they always surprise me and the food is like butter melting in your mouth but honestly its one of the best Thai places I ever been to. Btw I went there other day and for some reason there was an extra dish, I thought shoot they gave us the wrong order but no everything was there with an extra dish. I believe it was thick noodles with green and red peppers, chicken, onions, some kind of leave, not bay and ground up sausage with eggs, there is the extra start to make it 5 because although I don't know what the dish was, god as my witness I never eat early, never but when I tasted that dish, butta in your mouth, it was so da* good. Im picky and very hard to please but they have outdone themselves and the new owner and chef both do a great job making the par cuisine a great place to eat and always gives you what you ask for.
This is a very small place, very plain in appearance. It is the best Thai food I have ever had, including in Thailand. Period.
Service was nice and the food was delicious
Best Thai food in Serra Mesa and Kearny Mesa in my opinion. Service is awesome, the place is clean and the food is delicious. Not as spicy as Koon Thai, but I’m sure you can make special requests if you want to burn your face off.
Excellent service, outstanding care before and after dining. A must return for another dining experience.
Excellent food. Best Thai fried rice I've had in San Diego!
The most amazingly delicious thai food for a really good price too! Service is always great and amazing and turn around time is a matter of minutes!!
Great food, but can be hard to find
Great authentic Thai cuisine at an amazing price.
Tasty food, quick service, plenty of parking. The food really is good, probably some of the best Thai food in town.
Best Thai food in San Diego. Khan best service. DRUNKEN FRIED RICE BEST..
I usually never take the time to do this but today just felt like I had to. My overall experience has been always been great. Quality of food and authenticity deserves 10 starts but unfortunately we can only give 5 with Google. My auto shop has the pleasure of eating here once a week and if we could afford it my wife and I would eat at Pears everyday lol. Big thanks to the owner and his wife for staying consistent and bringing this wonderful food to Serra Mesa. So please stop reading and just head over for an excellent meal
This is the best Thai food nearby , everything is fresh and they are reasonable with their serving sizes.
We decided to try this restaurant as it was close to our friend’s house. This is a local restaurant with great food! My husband and I shared a soft shell crab in a coconut curry sauce and the pineapple fried rice with shrimp, chicken and cashews. Both dishes were delicious! The ice cold Tiger beers were a great accompaniment. We will definitely be back!!
The food here is BOMB!!!!!!! Such generous portions and SO tasty - new favorite Thai place hands down!!
Good service and friendly staff awesome place highly recommend
Drunken fish was fantastic. My new favorite Thai restaurant.
Hidden Treasure of a spot! Well priced, quick for pick up, and GREAT food. Best I've had in a minute! Thai tea was brewed, not powdered, and we loved every bite. Spice level on point, will come back.
I have ordered Pear's Thai for my office twice now and will continue to do so as long as I can. This place is amazing, the pad thai is incredible and I just tried the papaya salad which prompted me to write this review... I love it!
!! My favorite Thai food restaurant!!
Ordered on uber and an hour later after my order was supposedly being prepared they cancelled. Ordered at 8 canceled at 9. Lame and unamused. If you want delicious Thai, go to Chaba’s off Clairemont!
I came here and got the veggie panang curry to go (it was absolutely delicious and I devoured it), but its actually really nice inside and Ill undoubtedly be back with friends in the future
Awesome place. Kim the owner will make your food and dining experience great! Food always prepared fresh, fast and very tastey
My wife & I ate there not too long ago. Met the owner, definitely a nice guy with great service. Food is definitely healthy & delicious! I recommend checking it out for sure!
I wish I would have taking some pictures but the food looked delicious so I started eating right away. Pear Thai is under new ownership since my last visit and they've done a great job remodeling the restaurant. This used to be the little known hole-in-the-wall type restaurant with great food I would get take out for lunch all the time but now it's the kind of place you want to sit and stay for a while and enjoy your meal.
Small joint, but amazing food.
Drunken spicy Seafood fried rice was really good. Also Phad Thai is very delicious.
To be honest the food was just disappointing. For $20 I got some really sad looking spring rolls that basically fell apart. The peanut sauce was really watered down peanut butter. And the Massaman curry was tasteless. The chicken was either boiled or suffering freezer burn because of the rubbery texture and that just not quiet right flavor. There were to many under cooked potatos and maybe 10 peanuts (masaaman should have cashews). Really not worth the hassle of figuring out where this place is, I don't recommend it.
Really enjoy this great hidden gem of a restaurant that serves delicious and reasonably priced authentic Thai food that's better than other restaurants in the area.
However depending on the day you order, they may skimp on the protein & rather bulk up veggies...
You have been warned!
Best
This is a very hidden place, it's in the same strip mall as the other places, but it's on the side in the back corner, not really visible from the street. It's very easy to miss. There's some indoor seating, but pretty plain decor, the menu is fine, it has all the standard thai items and the prices are pretty average.
I got the drunken noodles with tofu, and it was fine. The noodles were soft, there was seasoning, the vegetables (onion, green onion, bell pepper) were in good portions, and overall, it was a fair portion that can be shared if desired or be eaten by oneself.
The only thing was that my wait was almost 20 minutes, even with 0 people in the restaurant. There were a few delivery orders, but it shouldn't have taken that long imo.
Clean store, delicious food. Entrance is on Gibbs Dr.
This place is authentic Thai, the best in San Diego. The Hot Basil with calamari. Wow!
Outstanding spicy noodles always number 10, it's amazing !
I ordered using UberEats. We spent $70 on multiple items and we were so excited to try this place because we love Thai. It was a mistake. This place is the worst! Customer service, the quality, all terrible. I hate to throw away and/or waste food but I wouldn’t even give this food away. I will never eat here again and would highly recommend trying other Thai restaurants in the area. I should’ve read reviews before ordering... apparently more than one person found things in their food.
On top of all of that, Mike, who claimed to be the owner, was extremely disrespectful. Initially, I called to let them know my order was incorrect. Upon speaking to him, he, very rudely, informed me it was my fault, not theirs. Apparently, I didn’t realize the pineapple fried rice came with shrimp (my mistake) because when prompted to add a meat on the app, I selected chicken. If I wasn’t allergic, I would just pick out the shrimp myself. That said, my order was wrong, he was condescending and continued to laugh while I, politely, asked if he could rectify the situation. He said, “yeah, you can place another order” and that he wasn’t going to rectify my mistake. He just kept laughing and followed up by saying “go ahead and write your bad review, I don’t care.”
There are so many amazing restaurants owned and operated by people who work so hard and appreciate their customers... then there is Mike. You can’t be rude and have bugs and random items (see previous reviews with photos on Yelp) in your food, Mike. Get it together!!!
Honestly I am thoroughly disappointed in this experience. I did a takeout order for two dishes...same dish...but two. When I opened up the jars...it looked like curry soup with nothing in it. I literally had 3 pieces of carrot and one piece of potato in the entire dish...but a lot of chicken. The second order I had was almost all carrot and potato with no chicken. The amount of broth matched with this tells me they made one of my dish, split it unevenly, and then drowned it out with broth. This was my first and last time eating here. The only reason why I don’t have it in my heart to rate a one star is because they were very nice, the broth was good, and their Thai tea is impeccable...but definitely not worth the cost. I, per the usual, decided to read the reviews after the fact and it seems like this place is a hit or a miss. Unfortunately for me this a miss. Shame on you Pear Thai!
Rama sauce was runny :(
Always forget the chicken I pay $2 more for.
First off, I am on a quest to find the greatest thai food ever concieved by man and am willing to travel. With that said, Food was ehhhh! Ordered thai chicken wings(Ok at first then kinda fizzled out), Massaman chicken curry (bland and simple and curry was watery) and spicy fried rice (bland and slightly spicy) with water (warm tap water with things floating at the bottom of my glass). Server was friendly but kinda slow, only one table was occupied yet we had to wait a few mins, no serving spoon to serve dishes, no plates to eat on, no plastic bag for the take out boxes. Was gonna give three stars but, upon further inspecting my second glass of water, it still had something floating it. So far the best thai food I've had is from Bamboo garden thai cuisine down near otay ranch.
Delicious
Moved back to Texas, this is the place I miss the most in San Diego!!
Very nice people. With that being said, their chicken pad tai was not very good at all. I eat it all over the city and it's either great or good but this was the first one that was bad.
Yum
Best thai food I've ever had. When they say spicy, they mean it, so spicy lovers enjoy!
Awesome food......Great spice......Very delicious.....!! A definite must.......
If you love a peaceful environment with spicy Thai food , This place is for you.. Prices are lower in comparison to other thai restaurants in area.
Everything is great priced great and environment clean food is to die for. I say it's WY better then taste of tai or many other replaces I have eYen. It tastes like it was made at home
Great thai food at good prices.
panang chicken curry was nothing more than soup broth... not to mention the ridiculous pricings
Awesome place. Friendly and pleasant people here.
Ordered out from this place. The lady on staff was very friendly, and I feel bad leaving one star, but the food really was the worst Thai food I've ever had. It was like a sodium bomb. I ordered the spicy noodles (some Thai places refer to this as drunken noodles or pad kee mao) and I would expect it to be bursting with flavor from the rich savory sauces they use, or the sweet basil leaves, or the fresh veggies or from the chicken, nope, it literally just tasted like salt. If I even partially liked this dish, I would at least be willing to order another plate to try, but it was so salty, I'm all set with this place.
Garlic Pepper beef! medium spicy, WOW!!! mind blown. The beef is cooked to perfection and served on a bed of deliciously crunchy broccoli. with a side of rice. Bliss!
I went to this restaurant on Tuesday around 3 pm. The lady who helped seat us didn't look like she wanted to be there. We ordered the pad thai shrimp which wad disgusting. It had no real flavor. I've been to many thai restaurants but never tasted pad thai so yucky
My feiend also ordered pad thai and was so disappointed. We had also ordered another entry but the waiter had forgotten to put in the order. I was very happy she had forgottemn because I assumed it might have been just as bad as the pad thai.
Great lunch joint. It is quick, friendly, and good thai food.
Got panang curry and sweet & sour chicken. Excellent, very friendly service. Food was better than average - and I am very picky when it comes to thai food.
I only wish the prices were a little more family friendly. $21 for 2 chicken entrees.
We will return :)
Great food great environment excellent service
Nice place. Good food. They just remodeled and extended their facility.
