Very good food. Service a little slow but only because the poor girl had to cover the entire restaurant by herself.

We've been here twice so far and each time it's been incredible. The first time I got soup with ribs (name is escaping me) and my fiancé got the curry noodle dish (first noodle dish in noodle section of menu). I was impressed by the flavor of the curry it honestly blew me away, more of a thick saucy consistency compared to curry that absorbs into rice. The depth of flavor here was insane. The bowl of noodles I got with ribs was heart warming and easy on my stomach, and I forget what we got as an appetizer.

The second time around we split some sake, the cucumber salad, a fried chicken dish with rice and curry that had some sort of bread to dip in which honestly tastes like a flattened croissant it was buttery and flakey perfection - chef's kiss!! This combined with the lemongrass in the curry and the crispy skin of the chicken honestly this dish alone will have me coming back time and time again. The last dish we split was the shrimp wonton soup with added egg noodles and the broth was perfect, just enough saltiness, and the wontons themselves were silky and smooth with a light fresh shrimp filling. All around perfect meal and felt like a giant hug.

Great food and atmosphere. Will come again to try more!
Try the wings they are sweet and spicey but not too spicy.

Iykyk.

Don't sleep on it. My favorite place for Thai lao style foods.

Diner Review №9

Kin Len is so delicious! The atmosphere is chill and the servers are kind. I go to Thailand every summer so it's nice to come somewhere in the states that is authentic. Highly recommend!

Diner Review №10

Love this place! Food is super yummy and the environment is fun and laid back. Also the service is top notch!

Diner Review №11

Is like I’m in Thailand or something. If Thailand is even close to this or better. I’m going. Damn good

Diner Review №12

Cool interior, good service, food was just okay. Pretty bland and ordinary, was hoping for more flavor. There are better thai places with better pricing :/

Diner Review №13

Just delicious a hole in the wall! 🤤

Diner Review №14

most underrated thai place in SD

Diner Review №15

Food was very good, had the pad Thai and beef noodle soup. Would recommend both.

Diner Review №16

Came here in the middle of the week for dinner. The waiter was nice and quick to give us water and take our order. We ordered Tom yum wings and Ka Na. They were both delicious. The spice level was a nice kick. You choose between 1-5. We chose 2, felt like a 3 lol. The place wasn’t too busy so it wasn’t loud or crowed. Very chill vibe. Definitely try again.

Diner Review №17

Love that they had the fried silk worms. It’s a delicacy you don’t want to miss out.

Diner Review №18

The food is decent, and I would recommend coming here if you're in North Park and looking for a decent Thai place, but you must know the food is very salty. That is the sole reason I gave four stars. Aside from the moderately high but "reasonable for North Park" prices, the service provided by the waitress was very good and the food came out relatively quickly. I can't speak for how busy the restaurant normally is but parking was tremendously hard to find, which is typical for this area.

Diner Review №19

The food was good but unfortunately my bf got food poisoning from the sous vide chicken dish

Diner Review №20

Num num num

Diner Review №21

Delicious. Highly recommend the Hat Yai chicken.

Diner Review №22

THE BEST AUTHENTIC ASIAN. Amazing selection of Thai & Asian Fusion I’ve had in all of SD. They also have the best beer selection from Japan, Thailand, Korea, and more. Have been returning to try everything on the menu!

Diner Review №23

Diner Review №24

Loved the pad thai noodles and the Thai papaya salad! This place is a hidden gem, I walked past it many times and I am glad I stopped by to try it. The service is really good, I saw some odd comments about the bad service and I disagree. I will be coming back :)

Diner Review №25

Delicious food and fun spot in North Park

Diner Review №26

Diner Review №27

Come here if you want bomb Thai Street Food that is different from your regular Thai Food joints. If you want Beer Lao, this is one of the only restaurants that have it in San Diego.

Diner Review №28

Delicious food and very friendly staff!

Diner Review №29

The worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. They would do food to go and they would not serve you when you dine in. If you arrive 30 seconds too late past 830. Stupid policies that will get them nowhere.

Diner Review №30

So good

Diner Review №33

Easily the best food you can get in North Park. Every other place I've been to has been pretty underwhelming and I was starting to think that might be the norm for a bar-crawly college town.

Every time I ate here it was in the last 30 mins before they close which usually means the food isn't going to be at its best. Not the case here. The food is always fresh and gets to the table pretty fast even when the restaurant is packed. The flavors are immaculate and are elevated recreations of authentic Thai cuisine. Level 5 heat is actually spicy and the portions are generous.

No frills, honest-to-goodness cooking and service. This place will be stuck in my mind for years.

Diner Review №34

Valuable place for Thai food! The curry was rich but too salty, the crispy pork belly was little, and the fried chicken rice was generous. The Filipino waiter is very diligent👍

Diner Review №37

Tom Yum Pork Ribs noodle soup was terrible. The taste is wrong nothing like Tom Yum. Too much fishy sauce so it is very salty and smelly. The Thai Coffee is also terrible… I added $1 for coconut milk but barely taste or see any coconut milk at all……it is just a watery sugary black coffee. Fish cake is also very okaish not worth the price
Chinese broccoli crispy pork is good very crispy

Diner Review №38

What a great street food-style Thai restaurant located in North Park! Be prepared to circle around for paid street parking.

Environment/Service:
My friend and I went at 1pm on a Thursday and we were seated right away and opted for an outdoor table where they have a few 2 person tables. Inside, there are 2-4 person tables. Doesn't seem the place to be for larger groups. Our server was very attentive, constantly filled up our waters, and food came pretty fast!

Food:
-Spicy Fish Cake ($10.95): 5 pieces of round fish cakes, served with sweet chili sauce. Wasn't too spicy and was a little chewy. I'd probably skip this next time.

-Tom Yum Wings ($10.95): 6 pieces half drums/half flats. The crunch was perfect and the flavor was super good! I'd order this again.

-Drunken Mama ($18.95): not your regular Thai drunken noodles. It has thin noodles, more saucy, and had great flavoring! Served with a good amount of shrimp, mussels, and scallops.

-Basil Beef ($15.95): 4/5 spice. I love spicy food and this had a little bit of a kick to it! Served with rice and fried egg on top. I realllyyy enjoyed this dish!

-Thai Tea: free with check in

Overall:
There were so many options that it was hard to choose between the two of us! The servings were not as big as you'd expect for the prices but we still ended up full and had enough to take home for left overs. I'd love to come back to try out other items on the menu.

Lots of vegan options!

We shared a pot of butterfly pea jasmine tea, cucumber salad, tofu satay.

Both the cucumber salad and satay came with tons of peanut sauce. The tofu was PERFECTLY crispy on the outside, wildly soft on the inside. I’d go back here simply for this!!!

I ordered the Kra Prao Vegan. If you like fake beef, this is the dish for you. If you do not like “red meats”, please order something else - it’s very realistic!

Diner Review №41

Great spot in north park. I had the chicken satay and the khao soi with chicken. Both were delicious and pretty big portions. The atmosphere is great and servers are attentive. I thought the prices weren’t bad for portions and amazing taste.

Food was delicious! Friendly service, reasonable price . Love the decorations

Diner Review №47

Kin Len has one of the best curb appeal restaurants in the area. It gets even better when you walk into the beautiful restaurant. The food and drink selections were both creative and delicious!

Diner Review №48

Great food and drinks in a lovely atmosphere.

Diner Review №49

Really good take on Basil dish with the sticky, crispy pork. It's different from how Thai restaurants usually serve that. And it was delicious. Can't wait to come back for that.

Diner Review №50

Horrible ambience. Dirty floor and filthy cushions on the chairs. Food was absolutely tasteless. Horrible....Horrible....

Diner Review №51

I’ve been wanting to stop here for a while. The shrimp wonton soup is delicious! You can add egg noodles for a little extra. I also enjoyed the nigori sake. The service was very attentive.

Diner Review №52

Went here for Galentines, and the food was amazing. There was no wait, and our server was super nice. A bit short staffed, but he made sure everyone was talen care of! The place is super cute and small! The food was delicious. Loved the Tom Yum wings and Basil Beef.

Diner Review №53

There is a Thai market ambiance. We got a couple of the starters, which were fine. The side of curry is humongous and could make a decent meal with some rice. The Khao Soy was also fairly good. Many of the portions were decently small.

Diner Review №54

- Papaya salad was on point. I ended up drinking the remaining sauce.
- Tom yum wings were dry rub style. I thought it was one of the better wings I’ve had in a long time. Big, juicy, and great crisp. Dry rub felt like it was msg without feeling negative.
- Fried enoki was like the good part of potato fries without the potato. Oil they used was maybe peanut, very flavorful and all crisp. I didn’t really feel the enoki except for the crisp of its surface area. It came with sweet liquid for sauce.
- Basil crispy pork was the favorite. Would do it again.

Diner Review №56

Parking can be a challenge-limited street parking. If you live closeby, walk. Restaurant is cute -reminds me of small eateries in Thailand. My usual is Tom yum wings, crab fried rice, papaya salad Esan style, pad Thai, mama noodles. It's a bit pricey. The only thing that I did not like was beef stick --possibly boiled then braised lack in flavor. I hope they can improve the flavor. FYI this Thai restaurant only has yellow curry which is u usual as red and green curry is staple to most Thai cuisines. I'm Thai and was raised on red and green curry so I am hoping they will offer it some day!

Diner Review №57

This is a gem I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE SHRIMP PAD THAI (it’s gluten free)✨ it was amazing, the shrimps were big and well seasoned and cooked, we also got the basil beef, it was a 8/10 a little smaller than the pad Thai but also yummy.
The athmosphere makes you feel like in another country 👌 good for a nice late lunch with friends.
Also the appetiser “Son in law wings” was fantastic, the sauce was 10/10 I kept a little for the plate.

Diner Review №58

My honest first thought: pure joy over chairs with wide seats. Second thought: this chicken satay is 🔥. Prices were very reasonable too. Can’t wait to go back and try the Tom yum soup, I heard it’s great. Came here on new years and service was great too.

Diner Review №59

This place was good. The food tasted different than normal Thai food in my opinion. I'm usually used to a lot of spice. The service was good. Thank you very much for taking care of me.

Diner Review №60

Best Thai food I've ever tasted! A gem.

Diner Review №61

The place had a nice laid back atmosphere and we were excited to see the excellent reviews, but ended up so disappointed with the food. The roast chicken had no flavor, papaya salad was very salty and sweet, Tom yum noodle had no Tom yum flavor - mostly salty and sweet, larb mushroom was the same. A total of $80+ lunch for the 3 of us was so not worth it.

Diner Review №62

Half the order was inedible. The beef and pork belly were so hard could not bite into them

Diner Review №63

Excellent food. Everything was very good. I cleaned every plate we got. Pork rib soup was awesome. Definitely one of my top spots for Thai.

Diner Review №64

Diner Review №65

Traditional thai place with some non standard dishes. (fried silkworm!) Had the Basil beef /w rice and the drunken mama (seafood noodles) and I thought both were quite good. One downside is that even at max spiciness the food isn't that spicy, so request fresh chilis on the side if you want to add spice. The decor is filled with Thai language texts and decorations and the general atmosphere is pretty relaxed, as befitting a north park restaurant.

Diner Review №66

Food and drinks were great, service was excellent. Nice variety of beers and the food was delicious

Diner Review №67

Diner Review №68

Delicious Thai food. Our local friend recommended we try Kin Len and we loved it. We got three different plates and my favorite was the crispy pork belly. Every dish was so flavorful and our server was great. Can’t wait to be back.

Diner Review №69

The food is delicious, the plating is simple and gives a generous serving. Forgot to take a pic of the appetizers, but the tamarind wings and the tom yum fries were soo fricking good.

Diner Review №70

Diner Review №71

Diner Review №72

Great food and super friendly! Some of the best Thai food I've had.

Diner Review №73

Amazing Eats!

Diner Review №74

I've been here several times. Great food and beer selection with plenty of Thai dishes you don't see at many other Thai restaurants in the area. The chicken khao soi is my favorite. The only gripe I have is their shellfish is always overcooked. It becomes rubbery and difficult to eat. Otherwise this is one of my favorite places to eat in North Park

Diner Review №75

Drunken Mama noodles were amazing!

Diner Review №76

Amazing service! Incredible food, they even have worms if you feel adventurous. Got the crab fried rice and drunken mama with cucumber salad and crab egg rolls. Delicious food made quickly. Will definitely be back for more!

Diner Review №77

Wow, Kin Len is without a doubt the best thai food that I've ever had. It's a small space, and it gets busy for a good reason, but it's worth the wait. The food is excellent, and the service is fantastic. Must stop if you're in North Park.

Diner Review №78

Servers are very friendly and helpful on recommending food. I had Tom Yum noodles Pork Ribs and it tasted delicious. I wonder if they use real Lime because the sourness of the soup was really fresh and citrusy unlike many of Thai restaurant, they don’t use limes because of its cost. Will definitely be back again.

4.2/5

Another great Thai spot in North Park. This place had casual seating with a nice little outdoor patio. The menu had a great variety of options with some non-traditional items that were delicious.

We ordered the Tom Yum Fries, Calamari, Son-in-Law Wings, Thai Papaya Salad, Crab Fried Rice, and Pad Thai.

The fries were super flavorful, and were fresh and crispy. Highly recommend. The wings were good, but didn’t have as much meat as I usually like. Papaya salad had great flavor, but the cabbage was a bit hard to cut to eat (not a big deal).

We were a little disappointed with the crab fried rice as it lacked a lot of flavor and the crab was minimal. Pad thai was pretty good, but I’ll definitely be ordering more things to try next time I come.

Diner Review №82

Kin Len is a fantastic Thai restaurant in San Diego. We tried their papaya salad, wings, pad Thai, and ground beef dish, and we thoroughly enjoyed every bite. It almost felt like we were transported to Thailand. The service was exceptionally friendly and kind.

Diner Review №83

Excellent and consistent. There's nothing bad on the menu, the service is great, and it's priced fairly

Diner Review №84

The food was incredibly good. I came for lunch and will definitely return for dinner when I can.

Diner Review №85

Diner Review №86

Great street Thai food and even my fiancé who has been to Thailand said this reminded her of there. Service is fast even when it is packed and the main national dish is my go to.

Diner Review №87

Diner Review №88

This place is phenomenal. Everything I’ve had here has been very very tasty. Beautiful presentation as well!
I’ve tried and recommend the basil beef plate, chicken satay, papaya salad, hat yay chicken and curry, pork belly plate!
Service is also really good, your water glass will not get empty.
It’s affordable and has really great ambiance, and it’s the best Thai place in North Park imo.

Diner Review №89

Super cute place, super friendly staff, and awesome food. Kin Len has a unique menu compared to other Thai places I've been to, but everything I've had has been phenomenal. I don't know what they do to their chicken, but it is always so moist and full of umami flavor. Their rice is also bizarrely delicious? Can't recommend enough!

Diner Review №90

The best Thai I've ever had. Great customer service from Glin. Just do it

Diner Review №91

the tom yum wings are to die for. everything i've eaten here has been great, you must try it!

Diner Review №92

The Ka Na was amazing!

Diner Review №93

Finding parking here on a weekend is an absolute nightmare, but if you can get past that, this place is worth the struggle! Great service by our kind, pixie haired server to start off. After combing through countless reviews, I decided to try the Tom Yum wings, Khao Soi noodles with chicken, and Basil Beef. The wings were really flavorful, and my favorite dish was the Basil Beef. It was so good, I’d go back to Kin Len just for this dish. The Khao Soi was a bit too salty and intense for me, but my boyfriend really liked the dish. We also got the mango sticky rice for dessert. I looooved the mellow sticky rice. Really well-made. My only feedback to the restaurant is that they should be cutting and *removing* the mango from the skin instead of serving it with the skin on. It’s super messy to scrape off and eat, especially without extra spoons, but it was a really yummy dessert. I can’t wait to come back to try the papaya salad, crab fried rice, and grilled chicken :9.

Diner Review №94

Diner Review №95

My favorite restaurant in North Park. We came during lunch on a weekday and it wasn’t busy at all but I heard weekend evenings and Friday nights get packed and lines out the door. I’m Filipino who grew up in the Philippines and Kin Len still gives me the atmosphere of being back home even though I’m not Thai. The papaya salad was amazing!!! The soup, the meat, the drinks, and our waiter was just top notch! Can’t recommend to those who don’t like to venture into flavor, spices, and culture but if you do you HAVE to go. Going to come back here next week with other friends and we’re excited! :) thanks and can’t wait!

Diner Review №96

Excellent! The Thai food here distinguishes itself from other Thai restaurants in the area with it’s subtle flavors. I got the Ka Na (basil beef dish), and often the basil at Thai restaurants in the area will be overpowering, but this dish was subtle enough that let the other spices come forward. The plating is also super cute. As a cherry on top, there are Thai snacks for purchase at the front counter. For drinks, I got the Apple Mango Soju and it was very tasty and sweet.

Diner Review №97

I don't usually say best. I try to say favorite. But their fried chicken is the best fried chicken in San Diego! I've had both the Fried Chicken & Rice, as well as the Hat Yai Chicken & Curry. The delicious and flavourful fried chicken paired with a chicken broth soup and garlic fried rice was amazing. But, the Hat Yai really stole the show! Thick cut of juicy fried chicken perfectly fried with the right amount of crispy breading. Served with a side of curry rice your choice of jasmine or butterfly pea rice and roti! It's a hearty and rich meal that'll leave your mouth watering.

Diner Review №98

Diner Review №99

One of my favorite Thai spots in the area. And Glen is the best!

Diner Review №100

Amazing food, great service and one of the best happy hours in SD. A must send

Diner Review №101

Been wanting to try this place and really happy I did. Really fun atmosphere and very authentic feel. I got the Beef basil and it was super delicious. My girlfriend is vegan and they had a few vegan options too which was great! We were obsessed with the cucumber salad highly recommend, we even took our extra sauce home haha. I would be careful with the spice though because my mouth was on fire and I got medium spicy level. Overall super happy to have this place in north park. Will return!

Diner Review №102

Deliciouuuus Drunken Mama noodles!!

Diner Review №103

Wow. The fried chicken curry is out of this world. Everything was good. Authentic but not typical American Thai food. Highly recommended if you want to have something fresh and different.

Diner Review №104

Authentic Thai street good, they even have something similar to เล้ง. I enjoyed the food and love the decoration! Will definitely be back!

Diner Review №105

Diner Review №106

Such good food, great atmosphere, amazing service and fun decor! This place has become one of my go-to spots for dine in and takeout. Everything I’ve tried has been delicious, my personal fav is their hat yai and sous vide chicken.

Diner Review №107

Absolute 5 stars. Had the Tom yum short rib soup. No notes!

Diner Review №108

We ordered chicken fried rice, mango sticky rice & beef stew noodle soup and they are all excellent. I can say it tastes the same as the food we ordered in Chiang Mai! Very clean dining environment and super fast & friendly service! Definitely recommend !

Diner Review №110

Kin Len is a new Thai restaurant in San Diego that specializes in street food. I had the opportunity to try their pad thai at their soft opening, and I was blown away. The pad thai was perfectly cooked, with the right amount of spice and sweetness. It tasted like I was eating right from the street in Bangkok.

The staff at Kin Len was also very friendly and welcoming. They were happy to answer any questions I had about the menu, and they made me feel like I was part of the family. I would definitely recommend Kin Len to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Thai meal.

Here are some of the things I loved about Kin Len:

Try the pad thai.
The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They made me feel like I was part of the family.
The atmosphere was casual and relaxed. It was the perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal with friends or family.

I would definitely recommend Kin Len to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Thai meal. I can't wait to go back and try more of their dishes.

Grew up eating Thai food all the time, this is the best Thai food I’ve had in years.

Diner Review №112

Basil beef was great

Diner Review №113

Amazing Thai food !! I recognize authentic Thai food when I taste it !! This restaurant makes you feel like your in Thailand with the ambiance and delicious food!! The service here was also phenomenal and every one is super friendly !! I am definitely returning when I am in San Diego. I got the Ka Na, comes with pork belly and taste amazing

Diner Review №114

Diner Review №115

Kin Len exceeded my expectations. It was reasonably priced with really good food. Definitely more of a Thai-fusion location as it is a little younger. You can't beat the location. Fun for a date or friend night due to there being multiple bars and an arcade nearby. I would just show up early to find parking.

Diner Review №122

Diner Review №123

Soo good! This place makes Thai food from a different region of Thailand. Pad Thai and other popular dishes are from around Bangkok, while Kin Len offers a selection of Thai cuisine from Southern Thailand.

Amazing food, and a taste of Thailand that's different from other restaurants! Absolutely worth trying.

Atmosphere, location, and staff are all wonderful!

There's also a selection of chips and snacks from Thailand! It's worth grabbing a snack on your way out.

Diner Review №124

I love it here. I enjoy Thai food and seek out every restaurant I can to find the best. And hands down, this is own of the best and in my go-to top 3 of San Diego. The food is amazing, I've never had an inconsistent experience. It's fresh, hot, delicious, and in a Thai street food style.

The service is always incredible, fast, and friendly. The food comes out fast, too.
They are on their A game at this place and need to be recognized more.
Inside is a bit tight, close to other tables, but it reminds me of the dining experiences I had in Indonesia street food places.

It's not fancy, but it's cute and comfortable. It's not pretentious food, just delicious and high quality at a decent price. 10 out of 10.

I love the Tom yum wings, koi soi and Khao man gai!

Diner Review №127

Really great place! Loved the food, good service. Chicken Satay are delicious, but everything looks really good. Will be back!

Diner Review №128

I ordered the steamed muscles and steamed ribs apps. Preparation was passable and flavors were legit. Don’t sleep on the sticky rice and grass jelly dessert.

Diner Review №129

really yummy Thai food and cute ambiance. we tried five dishes: pork belly, son in law wings, sous vide chicken with rice, butter fly shrimps, and shrimp wontons. we loved everything! fresh and lots of flavor. I'll be coming back

Diner Review №130

Diner Review №131

Great depth of flavor! Shrimp wontons tasted fresh and broth was flavorful, the green papaya salad is a winner

Diner Review №132

Kin Len is a winner. Delicious, beautifully-presented dishes in a cozy and charming place.

The service is always friendly and attentive, and the food is oh so satisfying. The butterfly shrimp is delightful and the basil beef rice dish is my go-to 😋

Diner Review №133

10/10 would come back, especially Tom Yum Fries

Diner Review №134

Street food focused, with lots of attention to detail in the decor that helped set the scene. The food was all really good, but the Hat Yai chicken & curry dish I got was almost too greasy, although shatteringly crisp and satisfying too. It just could have been a little better balanced. Overall, excellent!

Diner Review №135

So glad this place is down the street for a quick dine in meal or affordable takeout. If you're considering going, you should!

Diner Review №140

Diner Review №141

Delicious, authentic food, in fun location. Felt and tasted like a trip to Thailand, but just around the corner! Will definitely return!

Diner Review №142

The food was great, I loved that it was smaller but still had a lot of character. Vegan options were good, not as many as I feel like most Thai restaurants have but the stuff they don't have is great!

Diner Review №143

Come for the good food. Stay for the beer and great vibes. This one’s on my list for places to take out of town guests.

Diner Review №144

Parking: Paid street parking, 2 hours max. Free after 6pm.

Inside: Bar seating, indoor and outdoor tables. The largest table seats 6.

Food:
-Fried enoki mushrooms ($10.95) - Deep fried, very crispy but it was one of my least favorite. Very thick batter and I could taste the oil.

-Worms (hh $5) - Least favorite but had to try. It was airy, crispy, light and bland. Taste better dipped in curry.

-Son in law wings ($10.95) - Had a nice flavor.

-Hoi (hh $7) - Favorite! It’s all about the green dipping sauce.

-Crispy pork belly ($10.95) - Too crispy that it was hard and dry. Like dehydrated dry.

-Curry ($5) and roti ($4) - I love Thai curry with the thick and creamy consistency. Roti dipped in this is a must. It was a generous size portion of curry as a side order. We used the left overs as dipping for the other items. Curry had a kick to it.

-Crab fried rice ($18.95) - Had a nice chunk of crab. If you like wet and moist rice then it’s for you. I prefer a bit drier and broken.

-Hat Yai chicken & curry ($19.95) - same as curry and roti but you get a half chicken. Taste good dipped in curry.

-Tom Yum beer is a must try. Grab a piece of work or crispy broken parts from the enoki then take a sip. Game changer! The tom yum flavors come out.

Overall, great experience. Never been to Thailand but the decor, snacks, and food really capture that moment.

I was full just from the appetizers, great size shared among 4 of us. Ordering the additional two rice dish was challenged but we finished it all.

Diner Review №145

Diner Review №146

Hidden gem. We almost didn't find this place. Food was really good. Had the sous vide fried chicken was awesome. Another winner for North Park!

Diner Review №147

Amazing!!!!!!! All I can say is come here! Legit Thai food! I’ve been to Thailand and been eating Thai food for 20 years and this was delicious!

Diner Review №148

One of the best Thai restaurants in San Diego. Great variety of food dishes and beers.

Diner Review №149

Checks all the boxes for a good Khao soi with crispy noodles, pickle and shallot. Especially enjoyed the fried chicken curry and the Thai Naan. Purple sticky rice stole the show for me though, and was fragrant, chewy, slightly sweet and an excellent curry companion. Thai tea tied it all together nicely, would go back to try more like the Thai oyster that looked really interesting.

Diner Review №150

The food here was awesome I can't wait to come back and try more things on the menu! The ambiance is cool! Definitely going back soon.

Diner Review №151

Um… this place is TASTY! Really casual decor and atmosphere. Very fun and eclectic. Happy hour has a lot of great things to try. We have a few drinks and the fried calamari. They look like big Burger King onion rings, but are really good! We also shared the pad Thai and the crispy pork belly and broccoli. Soooo good. Definitely going back to try more stuff.

Get ready for some awesome authentic dishes and be cautious...when ordering medium heat it's more like full blast! Delicious food.

Diner Review №157

Great experience, delicious food and regional beers at a reasonable price.

Diner Review №158

Very cute place for late dinner. Here’s foods are not the typical type of Thai foods. It’s kinda young, new, and street style. It feels authentic but you also can feel the modern taste. We had a sous vide chicken, a fried mushroom and papaya salad, all the foods are pretty nice. I love the sous vide chicken the most, the chicken meat is so tender and the rice is very delicious, the side soup is good as well. The service here is very nice. I definitely recommend.

Diner Review №159

I ordered calamari roti and pork belly last night it was sooooo amazing the price is cheaper than other places and serve more food and delicious this it what I was looking for. I want the same thing this morning but you not open until 5pm.

Diner Review №160

A really wonderful Thai eatery located in the heart of North Park. Starts off with a really fun vibe and diligent staff who really try to run things smoothly. The main course of the Khao Soi is as amazing, where the chicken breast was cooked perfectly and the curry was the perfect level of spicy. Appetizers were solid Enoki Mushrooms and flavorful Tom Yum Fries. Check it out if you’re in the mood for a jumpstart to your taste buds!

ok this is easily the best thai food i’ve ever had in the US. every flavor is well thought out, the dishes are perfectly balanced. i’ve ordered 3 times, and it’s been amazing every time- and the people im with have also been amazed by the quality. i only wish they had more vegan options on their menu so i could try something new every time i go!!!

Diner Review №165

Absolutely amazing food. Great happy hour deals.

Diner Review №166

It was so good. Silk worms were good. Everything comes out fast

Diner Review №167

It’s a fairly new restaurant in North Park. Food was pretty good. Both of the papaya salad and khao soi were flavorful and had a well balanced taste; the mama noodles was just ok, they can definitely cut back on the sugar for that dish. Seafood tasted fresh and they gave a good amount. Service was ok.
The decoration is cute and authentic; I like the condiment’s cover a lot because it reminded me of the childhood toys I used to play with. Will definitely be back to try other dishes.

Diner Review №168

Oh my gosh the tom mom fries were so good. We loved the Thai beef and the mango sticky ice. Gotta go to this restaurant!!!

Diner Review №169

Awesome thia food, and the thia tea is to die for.

So good! We had butterfly shrimp, papaya salad, a beef stew soup (my favorite dish) and the hat yai chicken with curry. Everything was delicious, the atmosphere is fun and comfortable, and the service was perfect. Will definitely come back!

Diner Review №172

Best chicken satay! The steak stew skewers were incredible. Shrimp perfectly made. Total Thai Street vibe. I wish I could give it 6 stars. This place is not fancy as far as decor but the food is ridiculously good.
The background Thai festival music is a nice touch.

Diner Review №173

Honestly, best Thai in North Park

Space: Smaller with limited seating. Casual which is nice.

Service: Friendly. Quick to get orders and food came out relatively quick. I have heard they get busy and have a small kitchen so friends have said waits get long but we went on a relatively slow Thursday night. Again, it's a casual place so I didn't mind (and I hope they didn't mind) that we would go to the cashier to get another beer.

Food: Honestly amazing Beer selection was cool with a few Asian Beers. So flavorful, and with dishes that aren't the same things you see in the other 6 thai places in North Park. We got the Crab Ragoon Cigars, Crab Fried Rice, Khao Mun Gai, Tom Yum Wings, Calamari and Hat Yai Chicken Curry. Everything was great with the Tom Yum Wings standing at the top. Will definitely become the go to spot.

For anyone questioning service or speed, keep in mind they are still in soft opening phase. 👍

This is without a doubt the best new addition to the North Park neighborhood. I'm obsessed with this place and would eat here every week if I could! I'm convinced everything on the menu is good, but I keep ordering the Basil Beef, Khao Soi, and the Butterfly Shrimp.

Diner Review №180

A great addition to the neighborhood, everything was delicious!

delicious and unique thai dishes i haven’t had elsewhere!

Diner Review №182

My friends and I came here for dinner because one of them stated he was here for their soft opening and the food was delicious and authentic. We ordered the pad Thai, khao man gai, fresh oysters, papaya salad, butterfly shrimp, mango sticky rice, and son-in-law chicken wings. The papaya salad was good, but had a little more lime than usual. The pad thai was very bland. It needed more flavor. We ended up added our papaya salad sauce into the pad Thai to make it more pungent. It did taste a lot better after that. The khao man gai soup was also bland as well. However, we had enjoyed the fresh oysters and mango sticky rice. The rice and mango was just perfect, the only downfall is that most places I had mango sticky rice, the restaurant usually has the mangos peeled from the skin. I guess you can say the taste of the food was very inconsistent from their soft opening that my friend had attended. Overall, great ambiance!

great food which lives in stark contrast to the soul sucking capitalism that feeds and churns in the city around. a dismal place when clouds hang low overhead, and the pulse of the city is the dull drum of arteries gorged with self importance and ingratitude. this proves to be a ray of light in an otherwise dark spot of society. butterfly shrimp is a must-get!

A very cute addition to North Park with some promise. I decided to swing by tonight, hoping to get some authentic Thai street eats at Kin Len.

First of all, this place is absolutely cute and adorable. Cute picture frames are scattered across the restaurant, crafting a small, cozy and intimidate vibe. If you're looking for a date spot, check this place out! Not too shabby, as I saw more than a few couples dined in.

Second of all, the Tom Yum Fried Chicken is absolutely delicious. Perfect? No. A bit dry? Sort of. The flavor though was unique, delicious and definitely a must try.

As for my main entree of the evening, the Chicken Pad Thai, let's just say it left a lot to be desired. I've had similar styles of pad Thai, overly wet and cooked in a street-style way, but unfortunately, this was a miss. I couldn't help, but notice how bland and tasteless it was. The noodles also felt way more overcooked than usual. Again, I've had similar cooked Pad Thai dishes, and this didn't stack high. I added a ton of chili flakes to add some flavor, which definitely helped.

Service and overall restaurant operations were slow and a bit scattered, but everyone was super friendly and courteous.

Overall, Kin Len wasn't bad, but wasn't great either. I'd definitely give this place another shot in the future!

Diner Review №193

Absolutely amazing!! 10/10 food. Don’t skip the Tom Yum fries; so unique and SO GOOD! Cute decor, good drink menu, friendly service. Highly recommend all around. Easily the best Thai in SD.

Diner Review №194

Get the curry fried chicken, you won't regret it

Diner Review №195

Delicious food! Tasted as authentic as the food we had in Thailand. We got the Khao Soi and it was amazing.

Diner Review №196

This place really impressed me with the food, service and vibe that makes you feel like you're in non-US hole in the wall miles away from SD. Planning to come back soon!

Diner Review №197

Food was delicious, hence the three stars. The customer service could do a lot better. My plate took 50 minutes to arrive to the table since ordering. I would recommend take out only.

Diner Review №198

SO GOOODDDD!!! we got the Khao soy, beef skewers, papaya salad and the mango sticky rice. Everything was top notch. Coming back, bringing friends and all

Diner Review №199

The food was delicious, server helped me by recommending a dish I had never heard of before and it did not disappoint! I take off one star because it seems like they’re still working out the kinks as far as service goes. Waited well over 40 minutes for our food to arrive and had to ask for water refills 3 or 4 times. Def will return

Diner Review №200

This is legitimate Thai food. No other way to put it. The dishes are extremely reminiscent of eating in Thailand.

The service was beyond good. The staff was running around the room to make sure everyone was taken care of.

They have authentic Thai beers, like Chang, and Leo. The whole experience was very authentic in every way.

We ordered the Tom Yum fries appetizer. It was covered in deep fried Thai holy basil with a Tom Yum salt, and a sprig of rosemary. I couldn't get enough of the savory flavor, combined with the holy basil. I enjoyed picking a few sprigs of rosemary and adding them to each bite.

We also got the Khao Soi. Comparing it to other authentic restaurants in the area, this one gets the nod. The depth of flavor, combined with well done accompaniments, like pickled greens, crunchy fried noodle topping, and actually spicy chili oil, brought the dish to new heights.

Last dish we got was khao mun gai. They sous vide the chicken to perfection. The chicken rice matched perfectly with the small side of broth, plus the excellent ginger sauce, transported us back to the streets of Thailand.

Well done!
