Low-key eatery for Thai & Vietnamese classics, beer & wine, plus daily lunch specials.
This place is excellent! All food is made fresh so all customizations are possible. We are vegetarian and they were able to accommodate with no fish sauce in curries and pad Thai. I highly recommend the eggplant dish. Service was great, the waitress is kind and hasn't messed up an order a single time we have visited.
I found this little hidden restaurant that my daughter and I discovered. She wanted Thai, so here is where we landed.
Oh my. The Chicken Drunken noodles were fabulous, and the Pad Thai was amazing. They put huge prawns and chicken in the dish. It was perfect. Excellent place to eat.
Oh did I tell you? The spring rolls were soooo good and fresh!! π π π
I really recommend this place!
Ordered combo pad thai which was super tasty with a good mix of protein options and a heft portion of noodles to deliver outstanding value. Also ordered the green papaya salad which was quite tasty as well. I wish it was a bit spicier but loved the fish sauce complex flavor. Overall it was very light and refreshing with the mint leaves. Easy to pickup with a nice loading zone right in front.
The spring rolls were disgusting. Tough. Just warmed up - bit fresh. The chicken wings needed to be crisped up as arrived gristly and flat. The βpad Thaiβ was inedible. Should be flat noodles not these. It was just congealed in a glutinous mess. Put together with no pride. Absolutely scandalous. Should be thoroughly ashamed of themselvesβ¦ do not waste your moneyβ¦
Your average local broadly Asian restaurant. Pad see ew was too sweet, Masamun Beef curry (supposedly 1 pepper spiciness) was not spicy at all. Tables are barren of the spice trays that are usually at authentic thai restaurants. Food was okay but probably wonβt return.
Online menu prices are outdated. We used to love coming here but the big increase in prices of food here will make us have to find a new place. The price of a small bowl of rice is $3 each and a dinner for two now costs $50 without tip. Also they charge for using credit card. Food quality here is good, but not worth the price sadly.
Wonderful broad menu of Thai and other Southeast Asian cuisines. Atmosphere pretty plebian but the food makes up for it.
Favorite Thai restaurant. Great food and large portions.

I wish this place would get more business. The food is great!
I've been here a few times and some favorites are the pork ribs, red curry, and tom kha gai. Everything we've ordered has been delicious!
Great tasting food, generous servings; underrated spot.
Great service, big portions and our whole family loved what we got!
I found a bug in my food

Very good food and service.
Fantastic lunch value.
Amazing food !!
The worst take out food I've ever eaten!
A cosy restaurant, also an easy take out experience. The velvet walnut shrimp is the best I have ever had!
Indochine is our family's go-to place for Thai food in Palo Alto. The food is fresh, high quality, and delicious. The management is friendly and our order is always made fresh and accommodating to our special requests - highly recommend Indochine!
One of the most fairly priced joints in the local area. Food was quick, and tasty. Honestly one of the best Mango chickens ive had from a Thai joint the mango sauce flavor was actually very on point and they actually give you decent sized slices of mango!
Worst food I've had in my life. Food was undercooked. Not coming back even though I live a stone's throw away from the restaurant. Utterly surprised that this restaurant still exists.
We're from outside the Bay Area, and we've been astounded by the prices--five to six dollars higher per dish. Indochine, however, has reasonable prices and very good food. They feature a wide range of Vietnamese and Thai dishes. Generally, the food is on the mild side, but you can ask for more kick.
Took online order, but is actually closed until August.
Over priced, taste is even worse and service is none. Chicken curry is dried out and taste old. Taste like a Chinese restaurant trying to pass off as Thai. Avoid like the plague.
I found this little hidden restaurant that my daughter and I discovered. She wanted Thai, so here is where we landed.

I really recommend this place!
Loved here soooooo much!!
got the pineapple fried rice and it wasnβt very good- it had pineapple cashews and raisins but didnβt really taste at all how pineapple fried rice is supposed to taste. it was kinda bland and not necessarily bad but not that good either. portion sizes are large which i guess justifies the price but the food is kind of mid

My brown folks. The food here is bland. The pad Thai is dry and the quality is just low.
Imo itβs a solid 4/10. Edible and somewhat filling.
Service is medium. Will not be returning.
My wife and I love this place! Weβve been coming here for the last several years every time we want take-out Thai food. We always order the same, Chef muddles (the best!!), pumpkin curry, and sweet and sour chicken! You wonβt be disappointed! Jenny, the owner, is very friendly and always thank you for being there. They are just the best! Love this restaurant a lot!
Great service and delicious food!
Great food and service
The food was amazing. I forgot to take pictures π I will definitely be going back here the next time I am in Stanford.
First of all, $18.50 for a pad Thai chicken ordered over the phone, picked up by self. That in itself is outrageous when I can get the same thing DoorDashed to me for about the same price. Last menu pic shows I think $11.99 for pad Thai.
Second, that pad Thai was one of the worst pad Thais Iβve had and Iβve had this dish from at least 25 places. The audacity to sell a below mediocre dish for this price is just incredible. Go to any other Thai place.
Delicious food and amazing service. 10/10 will definitely add this restaurant to the rotation. The mango chicken and honey walnut prawns were amazing.
Delicious thai food, plenty of parking, friendly service, generous plates, this is a great neighborhood spot. Love the chicken coconut milk soup!
The most delicious Thai around Paulo Alto!
Nice of them to let us in as they had just closed after lunch. However the food is neither Vietnamese nor Thai. The Pho was not authentic and watery was not served with Bean sprouts Basil and the normal accoutrement. Chicken Pho!? They also had no drunken noodles/pad Kee mao on the menu.
Sad little strip mall environment with poor decor.
Would expect more for 4 star in Palo Alto :(
I loved it so much that I'm coming back. If I love it again I will give it a 5 star
Amazing Pho and customer service. I recommend the Beef Pho, Spring Rolls, and Devil Wings. The staff are very nice and helpful.
5/5 Food
5/5 Service
5/5 Location
This was the best Vietnamese/Thai food in the city! It was filling and made me feel good about myself after eating out. It was so yummy and the presentation was good too. The prices were also reasonable. The staff was also really nice. Highly recommended!!
Indochine has been a takeout staple for us over the last 6 years. Run by a lovely couple, we always enjoy supporting this small business. We recommend the pumpkin curry, sweet and sour chicken, and the Chefβs Noodles (pad see ew). Food is quick, fresh, and served in generous portions. Dine in or take out- you wonβt regret it!
Came here for a birthday dinner and absolutely loved it! Lots of vegetarian-friendly foods (they were able to make all the meat curries with tofu/veggies instead) and I especially have to recommend the spicy veggie soup! Huge portions and excellent flavors all around and amazing mango coconut rice
Love the massaman beef, yellow curry and the veggie spring rolls
I purchased Pad Seew with shrimp and it was heavy on the noodles and low on shrimp and veggies. It was good, but if I had known this in advance, I would have ordered it with extra veggies and extra protein. Make sure to reheat if you take out. The flavor came out after reheating.
Poor service. Slow service aswell. Nothing else to say. I wanted to order from here but the service is like forever slow. Came here twice and was kept waited for more than 15 min.
found hair in my food
Had
the panang fish
Decent for a quick Thai food craving fix.
Love this place. Food is great, it has lots of flavor. Portions are big and service was fast and friendly. My new go to place.
The food is average at best although the portions are pretty big. The thing that makes it a poor experience is the service which is super slow and way overloaded (one person taking phone orders, serving food, etc) which makes it a very bad experience and super hard to get attention. It's noisy, frantic, frustrating and the food is mediocre at best. Skip it.
This scarred us for Thai because itβs not really Thai. Worst, blandest pad Thai ever. We ordered $100+ of food and it all tasted terrible.
Food was salty and dry and then she chose our tip % for us. Never had that happen before LOL, for that, an automatic 1/5 stars.
I really want to like this place. It is so close to where I live and I always love thai, vietnamese, and fusion! But every dish I have ordered has been poor. The pad thai is 95% noodles with barely any sauce. I ordered it twice because I couldn't believe it when every other restaurant pad thai instantly wins my heart. It doesn't have to be fancy, this includes Pei Wei pad thai fast-casual. The kung pao tofu had no spice. The mushroom/vegetarian delight was the best dish. It was really nice and light, very vietnamese! But unfortunately this style feels more satisfying as a side than a meal.
I have had much better thai from Twin Falls Idaho and the tiny town of Front Royal Virginia, so I think I can expect a little more from a place in Palo Alto.
Huge quantity just for to-go. One dish can feed a family (of three)! If you are looking to gorge on food, this is the place. The location is a bit non-frequented which made it tricky for previous restaurants to endure. After getting a manicure or haircut next door, be easy on yourself and take home a piping hot dish to help support this business. The mango rice dessert is a must try. Indoor seating was not available but hopefully they will and a little table or chair outside might be more inviting and noticing
Food was good, service was amazing! The owners were so accommodating and very attentive to us. Thank you!
We went to this restaurant for lunch yesterday and had a very unpleasant experience. As soon as we said we wanted to dine and order, the hostess/waitress immediately insisted "Cash only". Giving the benefit of the doubt, we agreed to pay cash, assuming the card service must not be working.
But then we saw the other customers who arrived were provided with a proper tab and allowed to pay by credit card.
For our tab we were not provided with an official tab. The hostess/waitress just told us the amount. We paid cash plus tip and initially she told us it wasn't enough. Then insisted we give her the exact amount she had stated for the food and then leave the tip.
The whole experience was ruined by this discriminatory behavior. We wanted to confront her but didn't want to be unkind in front of other customers in the restaurant.
The food was not very appealing either. The eggplant/tofu was lacking flavor and the soup had more broth and very little vegetables.
It would be nice to get an explanation from the management for this strange request and behavior. I will not be recommending this place to any of my friends.
Good customer service and tasty shrimp pad Thai π
I thought Iβd try this place so Iβve ordered and eaten two entrees. Pad thai - it was meh. Mussaman Beef - I was hungry but ate it anyways. This is truly my honest opinion: The food needs more flavoring. The mussaman needs cube beef (like their menu says) and not strips of beef. It needed to be more peanutty flavor. Am disappointed and dissatisfied. Good location but food needs improvement.
Iβm not a negative review person but this was so awful. We were really shocked. And this was their second chance. Iβm disappointed they canβt rise to the occasion and get anything correct or even close to how it used to be. Every element was wrong. Itβs a bummer as itβs convenient to the office.
Tried this restaurant this evening and it was terrible. The Pad Se Ew was disgusting. Barely any vegetables, over cooked noodles, and chicken tasted very old. Sour shrimp soup was basically hot water with oil, over-cooked shrimp, zero vegetables, and mushrooms. No flavor at all in this food.
It was prepared in 5 minutes and tasted like it.
These 2 dishes cost $27 - ridiculous. They want you to pay cash. Sketchy.
I donβt think this is a Thai/Vietnamese restaurant, more hidden Chinese.
A great variety of dishes, all great. During this time of stress they have an excellent system for curbside pickup. You stay outside all the time. Just call and your order is ready in 15 minutes. Couldn't be better for a local source of takeout meals.
Good food, large portions but they can't keep up with demand. My take out was ready 50 minutes after the order πͺ
Pad Thai is far from Pad Thai.. wouldn't go there once again
Beef is cooked in Chinese style rather than Thai style. It's tenderized and thin stripes of beef. That's not what should be used for Massaman beef
Great food, very authentic and just enough spices.
Very good Thai cuisine. Not the best I have had but certainly the best in a 50 Mile radius. I just wish the curry duck had more duck.
The lunch special was tasty, generous portions, and with fast friendly service.
This place is fine - the food isnβt repulsive or anything like that. Itβs just fine. The problem is: unless you go for the lunch special it really is not worth the price. If youβre paying north of 16-17 for food, just make the trek downtown. Even the lunch special at 13.03 isnβt very worth it.
Excellent food
Indochine is my favorite Middletown stop for dinner π
Two of my favorite food types (Thai and Vietnamese) offered in the same restaurant!
What a beautiful pairing π
Last night I ordered the Chef's Special, seafood combo, served in an amazing spicy coconut sauce with vegetables and a side of rice π²π
Delicious!
Good
Delicious foods!!
Don't bother ordering online for pickup, they may not get your order and you'll be sad.
Yummy!
Good food. Very busy.
Solid spot. Food is fresh, large portions, and authentic flavors. They do a huge take-out business, so my only ding is for slow-ish service. That said, the service is VERY good and the staff are lovely. Great neighborhood spot.
Solidly good. Had dumplings, lemongrass chicken, a ride noodle chicken dish, and some kind of warm beef salad (my wife ordered). All of it was good, and about right for the price.
We come here with some frequency, haven't been disappointed yet!
Great great food at very reasonable prices. Go there at least twice a month and we live in los Gatos
Friendly, homey, mom and pop restaurant featuring Thai and Viet cuisine .
Good restaurant.
An excellent place to eat a delicious meal, the stewards there are extremely friendly and the music excellent!!
Beware of online pickup ordering. Service adds extra 2.00 fee without obvious ability to change. Adds extra cost to add more protein even if that is not what you are wanting. Staff fought me blaming the ordering app instead of making it right for 2.00.
Nice little place. Good tasty food. Perfect for families with young children
Did a large take out order, all great and on time. Very generous portions, surprisingly so, and great tasty Thai curries. Definitely good, above what I'd expect for the price (it's a relatively inexpensive place, especially for Palo Alto).
Have to rate this five-stars for the immense lunch-menu value ($10-$11) - who can find anything around Palo Alto for that price? And the food is consistently good and a generous portion. Recommended.
This place deserves more rating than 3.9.
I'm Asian, the name is IndoChine so I thought it's Indonesian Chinese food. But the menu had Thai, Chinese, Malay fusioned food. The spicy food isn't really spicy for Asians (might be for white/light flavor food people or whoever can't handle spices) so I could see why someone could expect spicy but the food isn't.
However for Palo Alto, the value and price and service, are all very reasonable and quality.i think it should be at least 4.3 stars. Hence giving it a 5 to average it up (:
Oddly nice wine list and a nice mix of pan Asian food
Excellent red curry with duck. Arrived as they were closing at 9pm and they let us order take out. Perfect blend of sweet (pineapple chunks and raisins) and spicy (curry plus jalapeΓ±os). Definitely worth a visit.
Just discovered this place few months ago because I was in desperate search of a Wonton Soup and let me just say that if you have not tried it yet, you should. It is rich in flavor and I love the vegetables added. It literally tops P.F. Chang's Wonton soup, no offense.
My favourite place for green curry. Their lunch menu is reasonably priced and the brown rice is great. This time I tried the green curry prawn. Delicious!
We have come here for years. Great, large portions. Excellent eggplant, curries. Clean and simple atmosphere. Servers were very nice and food came quickly. Nice family place!
Excellent pho (including vegetarian!). Generous portions, excellent food and good service. A hidden gem.
Waited more than 20 mins for a signle dish with the owner's words "will be there in a minute ". Go there only if you have a lot of time to waste or kill.
The male owner is not honest. Be aware.
Best Thai food in Bay Area! The beef salad and Red Curry are delicious!
Long wait time
The delivery line was awfully long and they served everybody there first, resulting in a very long wait to get only a Pad Thai. Very annoying
Too much time wasted when I made a Phone order
The food was a bit raw and the menu is misleading. Furthermore, server was mean to us. The second star is for their Thai iced tea which was pretty good. I wouldn't recommend this place and probably won't come back.
This is a very nice place. However, I feel the food is more Chinese than Thai. The flavor is on the sweet and salty side but they don't over do it. The portion is good too. Price is just right in the area. It's a very good choice for lunch. (Has lunch special)
This is a small and cozy restaurant. The dishes for the most part are Thai and Vietnamese. My grilled pork with vermicelli was fine, but not the best or flavorful I've had. Even though it wasn't too crowded during lunch, the service is pretty slow due to the fact they're clearly understaffed. I even saw a party waiting to be greeted, only to walk out of the restaurant.
Staff not respectful.
this place usually only has one wait person to assist all the tables so expect to stay there for at least an hour especially during lunch. They have some great lunch specials with tons of different Thai curries. I got the chicken panang curry which was absolutely excellent.
waiting for long time
My favorite Thai place in the South Bay. Great food, and it usually comes out fast. Lunch specials are a great deal!
Don't expect lots of attention from the server though, and they are usually short staffed.
We had lunch menus and I ordered grill pork with rice noodles. The meals are perfect although the staff served wrong meals for us ( I got chicken one) but the meals were good and fresh and the price is reasonable. I would recommend this restaurant for who loves Thai and Vietnam foods.
Best hot and sour soup ever!! Great and friendly service.
Food is good but the service can be slow at times
Nice space, the pineapple fried rice was excellent, decent prices. Service was perfunctory but attentive.
Good menu. Friendly service
The best Thai food in Palo Alto, by far. This is my go to place for Thai or non-pho Vietnamese fare. Friendly and fast service. Reasonable prices. Most importantly, tasty tasty food.
Personally, Iβve had great experiences at Indochine. Both their customer service and their food has been on par.
IοΈ really enjoyed the curry. Great to take out but we actually sat and ate. The staff was very polite, great service too.
This is a great place for Thai food... probably one of the best Thai restaurants in the peninsula/southbay. I especially love the Eggplant Basil Chicken, Thai Basil Chicken and the Shaking Beef is very special! The Pho is not a dish I would recommend though.
Wonderful flavors, the Thai and Vietnamese options are superb, and the service is friendly and efficient.
Loved the yellow curry + Thai ice tea!
The decor is a bit plain, but the good is great, and reasonably priced. Efficient and helpful service. We go there often, and have never been disappointed.
Really delicious eggplant and tofu curry, and veg chow mein. Plenty of food at a good price.
Kung Pao tofu rocks
This place used to be a favorite Thai restaurant for me and my buddies but, ever since the change of ownership, it hasn't been the same. I mean you expect these subtle changes from time to time, but some of the food items are prepared differently from what we were accustomed to. Specifically the Panang Chicken and Beef Mussuman. The meat and chicken portions are smaller than before. Oh well, I guess gotta find a new Thai favorite then.
I really like the ambiance, nice staff.surely gonna come back again and for the food.
Very accommodating for dietary allergies.
Awesome little spot in midtown. I've been here multiple times for lunch and dinner. Staff is quick, food is good!
