The tastiest Thai food in LA! We know because we have tried soooo many Thai cuisines! This one gets their ingredients hand picked weekly from the owner himself. A very exquisite and delightful man. He makes us feel like friends whenever we walk in for a bite to eat. My favorite dish is the Massaman curry and my favorite desert is the mango pudding. Their eggplant is cooked to perfection in their traditional eggplant dish and I love that they let you choose the level of heat in all their dishes. I usually choose zero and request the tray of spices to add in as I eat. My husband on the other hand lives choosing level 2 or sometimes 3 🌶️!! Talk about spicy Thai! Its all here. Please come in for a sophisticated and comfortable dining experience with the best service in all of Downtown Monrovia .
Really liked the back patio on a lovely Sunday afternoon, just perfect for a leisurely lunch! Food was quite good, my Pad Thai was one of the better ones I’ve had in awhile and the papaya salad was solid if not spectacular but our waiter treated us with some coconut pudding at the end and it was really refreshing and just a perfect ending for a great meal.
I sat on the patio and jazz was playing.
Very serene atmosphere & excellent customer service. I was the only customer in the patio and they never forget about me. They were friendly. My intention was to try their mango sticky rice but they were done for the season, however I was offered the mango pudding as well as the coconut pudding to sample. They were amazing!! Definitely going back for more.
This is our new favorite Thai restaurant, and among our favorite restaurants in general.
The food is excellent, very fresh and tasty, not oily. They do what they call "water sauteing", with no oil or very little oil.
The pineapple curry was especially amazing.
The food was very tasty, and still not too spicy, and the desserts were all amazing. It's easy to taste the fresh and tasty mangos used in the mango desserts
Mainly we loved the time that the owner took to talk with guests, and the rest of the staff was also great.
The food here is so delicious and fresh. The staff is friendly and overall great; they do go above and beyond every time I eat there. One of my favorite places to eat. I’ve had both dine in and take out and the service is always fast. Also, I got the Drunken noodles. I will recommend 100% you’ve got to try this place! Also my vegetarian fried rice had only veggies (also really really good).
This place was packed, every table was occupied and yet the service was still outstanding and friendly. Food was served relatively quickly as well. I had the red curry with chicken and Jasmine rice and it was delicious, lots of flavor even with only one star spice. The table next to me ventured with 4 star spice and the gentleman was exclaiming how wonderfully spicy it was. Don't forget to save room for their mango sticky rice dessert, won't disappoint. This food hit the spot!
The ambiance is great! Easy to walk in on a Friday night to get a table for four. Food that is labeled spicy can be very spicy. Chicken satay, Pad see ew and red curry are great dishes!
ok I eat a lot of Thai food all over the place (Philly, DC, VA) but this was seriously the best I’ve ever had. Pad see ew, chicken pad Thai, Tom kha with tofu, all the literal best I’ve had. Go here!!!
Have had better, authentic thai food elsewhere. Pad see ew was not it. Noodles were super oily and soggy and overly salty. Spring rolls were also not good at all, again, pretty soggy for something that's deep fried. Service is amazing though!
I wasn't expecting to find the best Thai food I've ever eaten to be in Monrovia, but here we are. The owner took time to chat with us about what we might like to order, and all of his recommendations were fantastic. We'll happily be returning soon and with friends in tow!
Stopped by for some comfort Thai food on a cold winter night and this place really hit the spot. The atmosphere was warm and cozy with beautiful decorations. We ordered a plate of pad see ew and yellow curry with Jasmine rice. Both were amazing, but the yellow curry really stood out as the winner. It wasn’t too salty or sweet but just the right amount of creaminess. The staff were so welcoming and attentive the whole time. We loved it and can’t wait to come back again!

Ate here on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024 for my very first time with family. Absolutely delicious and the food was spot on. Sat outside on the back patio and it was quiet. I just wish it weren't so far from my home, but now have a restaurant to look forward to visiting this winter real soon. I highly recommend!
Really good thai food at a decent price. Waitresses were very attentive. Good spot for a first date
Great service, great food, great owners. If you're looking for Amazing Thai food this is the place. The food is great and the owners are super nice. Very high quality!
Great Thai restaurant with wonderful lunch specials and great service!
Had an excellent dinner tonight, the Tom Yum and Tom Kha were fantastic. Also our host Jessica was AMAZING, A++ customer service. We will def be back!
Absolutely amazing restaurant. Owner is present and really cares for his employees and his business. Amazing food and service!
Really delicious Thai food and the service was great. Definitely will be my go to spot for Thai food.
Very nice dining experience.
Quality foods & service … experience it for yourself … riceberry was my newest food try …
A mi familia y a mi nos encanta visitar este lugar e invitar amigos, el servicio es buenísimo, la comida deliciosa y los precios muy razonables.
I sat on the patio and jazz was playing.

If I could give Thai Thyme six stars, I would! My friend from Miami and I were on our way to another restaurant nearby when we stumbled upon this gem. As soon as we opened the door, we were pleasantly surprised by the cozy and welcoming atmosphere.
Jessica, our server, seated us right away and provided exceptional customer service. She was extremely friendly, gave us great recommendations, and patiently answered all of our questions. The wait for our food was reasonable, and the portions were generous and delicious. We ordered the Tom Kha Seafood Mixed Soup, Thai Spicy Basil Fried Rice with Seafood, and Drunken Noodles, and everything was packed with flavor.
For dessert, we highly recommend the coconut pudding and mango pudding. Both were bursting with flavor, perfectly portioned for their price, and so good that you'd never guess they're vegan and have no added sugar unless told!
Went in for a late lunch and was very satisfied. From entering, the place has a great atmosphere and ambiance. We were quickly seated and given menus. The Thai tea was soo good. Not too sweet and actually had a strong tea flavor. I ordered the potstickers, the basil fried rice and parang curry. The food was wonderful and the sauce for the potstickers was spectacular. Definitely adding to my favorites so I can come back again. The wait staff was so kind, very patient with questions and above all very friendly.
There’s a place where I’ve come to believe in miracles, and it’s not in a church or a temple, but in a humble Thai restaurant. Every time I walk through those doors, I’m reminded of the blessings that life can bring, wrapped in the aroma of fresh herbs and spices.
The food here isn’t just delicious; it’s transcendent. The first time I tasted it, I knew it was special, but I had no idea just how much it would change my life.
I brought my father-in-law here one evening. He had been diagnosed with stage 2 brain cancer, and the doctors said he had maybe two years left. He was weak, his spirit broken, and his body frail. But something happened that night as we shared a meal at this restaurant. We laughed, we ate, and for a moment, we forgot about the illness.
Weeks turned into months, and those months into a year. My father-in-law started getting stronger. His hair, once thinning, began to grow back, and his body, which had been wasting away, began to gain strength. One day, he even showed me a six-pack forming on his stomach—a sight I never imagined I’d see.
But the most miraculous moment came when he looked at me, his eyes clear and bright, and spoke in perfect Thai—something he’d never done before. “I love you,” he said, his voice filled with warmth and gratitude. In that moment, I knew that this wasn’t just about the food. It was about the love, the care, and the life we shared in that small restaurant.
Now, every time I come back, I’m reminded of the miracle that happened there—the blessing that is Thai food, and the strength it gave my father-in-law to keep fighting. And for that, I will always believe.
Stopped in and had some of the best Thai food I have ever had. The owner stopped by and gave his background (which was SUPER interesting) but also mentioned they water saute which totally was noticeable as none of our dishes were oily. I will be back!!!
Amazing restaurant! Food, quality, and service is always top notch and my wife and I are always satisfied.
Excellent!
Delicious, gourmet Thai food with reasonable prices and great staff. Plating is beautiful. Free parking in the back. My fav restaurant.

Delicious Thai food, super cute atmosphere, and dog friendly! Owner and staff are lovely. Looking forward to next time.
Great food, good prices. Be careful the chilis.
I thought I was back in Krabi, Thailand! The food is delicious and authentic. The staff and owner are very friendly and welcoming. Definitely will be back every time I visit California!
Food good, took a while; Service ...poor at our table. Dogs are treated like royalty here! Loved that part!
Pho Thy's Pad Thai with shrimp is delicious. The noodles are well-cooked, the shrimp are fresh, and the tamarind sauce is perfectly balanced. The dish is topped with peanuts and lime, adding a nice crunch and tang. A generous portion and great presentation make it a must-try.
Love Mr.Thai (yes that's actually his name) very kind and calming demeanor
Try the Sunshine Beef Jerky appetizer it was great. I also had the red curry enjoyed every bite. My server Naomi was great.
Stopped for dinner while being on a trip. Were surprised so pleasantly with the level of food and service! Also prices are pretty good. And a very nice walking Myrtle street of Monrovia.
We had carry-out, tom kha and Pad Prik Sod. I used to live in Thai town, I've had a lot of tom kha, and their tom kha is very good. I really liked the Pad Prik Sod, as I love onions and peppers. Don't underestimate the spice level, they're not kidding! Medium spicy was plenty spicy for us.
The interior is perfect for enjoying a sit-down dinner. Went on a Wednesday night and was sat quickly. Food is absolutely top notch and priced appropriately for the quality. Owner is really nice. 10/10 would recommend this restaurant.
Thai Thyme is one of the best, if not he best Thai Food I’ve ever tried. Pad Thai is wonderful. Entres are perfect and soups are made with the best veggies and broth ever. We love it here. Cannot recommend it more 😍 We got mango 🥭 sticky rice for dessert and came in a heart shape. Worth driving to Monrovia and experiencing these amazing plates. Plus service is wonderful. Very attentive and graceful. Please enjoy it for yourself.

Amazing atmosphere, service and food! 🌱
Came to this restaurant because they served khao soi but it unfortunately fell short of my expectations. First of all the egg noodles they use is quite literally instant ramen. I thought it was going to be fresh egg noodles considering the steepish price. The flavor did not taste like traditional khao soi to me sadly. A plus is that they include a lot of proteib
Food was absolutely delicious. My favorite was the brown rice berries. High quality ingredients you can taste.
Exelente atencion y comida muy rica
Very overcooked rice and meat. We ordered like 5 dishes and honestly none of them are worth trying again.
Wonderful, fresh, tasty and healthy 😋
Beautiful outdoor patio
Friendly staff
Delicious food
Everything we had was amazing. Food was amazing, the owner is super nice and has great stories. Desert was excellent and the price was definitely cheaper then we expected for the atmosphere and location.
10/10 we will be going again soon.
The food was delicious. I had the Cashew Chicken dish with steamed rice. The Thai tea was super refreshing.
Good food to eat
I love this place- the food is fantastic and the service is great. They have a dog friendly patio and the food is exceptional. It feels so welcoming here
I will add more details when I can but we went there hungry and this was honestly some of the flavorful delicious Thai food I've ever had
1st time here and everyone and everything was absolutely phenomenal!
We had a great long conversation with the owner as well… an amazing human! His cooking style and techniques are so amazing and it makes the food so fresh and healthy! I could eat here all day and never get tired of this food. We will definitely be coming back and recommending everyone else to try this place!
The food was delicious, spice level 1 is not spicy at all, the server said level 2 was really spicy so I went with level 1. I had to add hot sauce to it.
Service was great but I wish they'd pick one person to check on us instead of three different ones coming around to ask the same thing. Better too many than no one though.
Apparently it's becoming a trend to not serve rice with entrées then charge for rice, a bit high price imo, $3.50 for rice. I'm Asian, I always want rice.
Good food, service was slow because of all the people on Friday and delivery. Friendly owner
The food is so good and really good serves first time here really good recemend
Ordered popular items on the menu via uber eats and picked up our order. We ordered larb gai, green curry, and basil chicken. Curry was very watery, larb gai was grainy, and the basil chicken mainly had undercooked onions. This is the worst thai food we’ve ever had! Will not order here again.
Great atmosphere. The waitress was extremely kind and always smiling. We were approached either by the owner or manager to have small talk and make sure we are doing ok. The food was served fairly quickly and enjoyed it. Maybe this authentic but I felt every dish was somewhat sweet. Otherwise the experience was great. I would come here very often
Delicious. Great portions and atmosphere for date night
Always great service and the food is amazing...love that they allow dogs in the patio
The owner is a great guy and creates a warm atmosphere.
Food is delicious.
In a quaint neighborhood.
We had eaten here with friends do a large variety was ordered
Chicken satay 4.5 stars grilled perfectly with great peanut sauce and cucumbers salad
Chicken Panama curry 4 stars good. Not thick creamy but still packed flavor
Pad kee Mao drunken noodle 4stars
Bbq chicken half 3.5 stars
Thai beef salad 2stars. I was expecting a lot since I love this dish. First sauce way too salty. Then misting herbs. Fish Sauce too overwhelming. Beef not grilled/cooked well. So many parts were just wrong
Crispy tofu triangle 4 stars. Nice crispy hot delish
Cute cozy place, street parking, nice private patio, food was delicious and will come again
Lovely restaurant in the heart of Monrovia. Large portions, excellent options, and authentic taste.
The tom yum soup is fire, Thai teas solid, and the drunken noodles (spice level 4/5) were fuego. Don’t sleep on the green curry either! Reasonable prices too, and therefore I’ll definitely be back in the future.
Food is excellent. Ty the owner is very friendly and cares about his customers and employees. My go to Thai spot.
Thai Thyme is one of my favorite restaurants in Monrovia! The food is excellent, the staff is friendly, and their service is prompt. Their yellow curry is amazing!
Best Thai experience ever. Food and service was amazing.
Muchos nervios en la carne , lo demás muy bien
Very happy with food and service. Will definitely go back!
Just had the most amazing experience here. Such a welcoming atmosphere and the food was phenomenal!!! It's clear how much care and attention to detail goes into preparing each dish. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try.
We had loads of questions and we were totally guided through our culinary experience this evening. I will definitely be returning!!
Have enjoyed every meal at Thai Thyme. We try a new dish each time and have yet to find something we don’t care for.
Discovered their curry puffs on this visit. Yum!
Dishes are served on smaller, shareable plates.
i do not recommend it very slow service..!! the staff is not trained well
The food is amazing, the owners are very friendly and a pleasure to talk to and the atmosphere is relaxing and warm.
This place is great. Food is excellent. Service is top notch!
Love this place. Ive been going here for awhile now and they are always friendly with great service and the best Thai food here in Monrovia.
Thai Tyme is an excellent place to get delicious Thai food. We tried their noodle soups and we all enjoyed our selections very much. The service was friendly and attentive. Looking forward to trying more dishes in the future.
The restaurant is very clean. The owners are very humble and nice people. The food is delicious. Their spicy sauces are so good as well. Definitely returning.
Improved service since menu and name change
Thanks you People
Thai Thyme
Great place! Yummy food and the owner is very kind! 😊we will definitely dine in again. Thank you.
Thanks you People
Thai Thyme
Very unhappy! The food tastes good but the menu has wrong information. I ordered “vegetarian fried rice” and it came with some kind of vegan shrimp?? I also ordered Tom Yum soup with chicken and it had pieces of real shrimp inside. Since I am allergic to seafood this basically ruined my entire meal. There is no mention of any kind of shrimp on either of these dishes on the menu. Either make the food correctly or fix the description in your menu so we know exactly what’s inside your dishes!
Tragically our local place was closed today and to our surprise we found a Gem very happy! So yummy! Great location! We will def be regulars! Customer Service and hospitality were right on point! So happy to have tried something new!
Very tasty. Great lunch specials
So glad we tried this little place in our neighborhood! It was our first time here, so we got a few of the basic dishes (combo pad thai, pineapple curry, chicken satay and Tom Kah soup) They nailed everything! So good. I converted my wife into a tom Kah fan in the process, too!
clean great food and service
The red curry was overly sweet and not balanced. The egg rolls were completely cold and burned. Their lunch special menu is inaccurate and mentions you will get 3 wontons but its egg roll instead. They made no attempt to fix the eggroll issue.
Delicious food. Great unique service. Charming atmosphere. We will be coming back for more drunken noodles. Highly recommend!
Tried a fried rice, the jungle curry and mango sticky rice. Honestly, a bit disappointing. Rice texture was a bit off and somewhat bland. Kind of felt like whoever cooked these dishes did not know what it's supposed to taste like.
Very nice service and very fast, but certainly needs some quality control on flavor.
I give this place 5 Million stars! Accomadating, friendly, respectful, high quality, all dogs are encouraged not just welcomed, regardless of service title. The boss makes a point to meet you. You CAN NOT find a better customer service experience in/near all of Los Angeles!
Visited for lunch. Very friendly service. Satay was very good.
When it comes to the quality of the food, I would have to say this might be the best Thai food I’ve ever had. But the selling point of this restaurant which makes it deserve 5 stars would be the owner and his wife who are the nicest people!
Such a great place for super fresh and very tasty Thai food! The new owners, Tai and his lovely wife, cook oil-free, delicious clean tasting food. We’ve tried several different dishes, all have been mouth watering with flavors that keep you coming back for more! I especially love the spicy beef salad, it really hits the spot on really hot days. They’ve recently received their beer and wine license, so now there’s also great drinks to cool down the flavorful heat from the food. Go and enjoy!
I grew up Thai and I am really picky about Thai restaurants, but Thai Thyme did not disappoint! My only regret was not asking for spice in my Pad See Ew because I forget it's not usually made that way in restaurants! (My grandma made everything spicy haha)
The beef jerky with sticky rice was delicious, but could of been a little more portion for the price. I love this place! Can't wait to eat there again!
Met the new owners and they are so friendly! They gave us a quick tour of the patio and talked to us about how fresh their fruit/mangoes are. The food itself is amazing! I'm so glad they're open again and we have good Thai nearby. 👍
i have ordered lunch from this restaurant many times. I brought my children here for dinner. The staff and owner are so nice. She made my children feel so welcomed. This is so rare in a restaurant these days. My daughter is a finicky eater. And even though my daughter initially did not like her rice dish, the owner and manager were so gracious in trying to please her. The other tables were full, but the staff was so good to us. This is a great family restaurant. I must say, when there was an issue with the food, the owner and staff listen and take care of it. My children loved the attention and so did I. Will return hopefully soon.
Such a nice family who own the place. The man who answers the phone is particularly friendly!
If you’re looking for delicious curry and incredible service you need to come to Thai Thyme! Chef/Owner Thai is very welcoming and passionate about what is on the menu. If you’re in the mood for great Thai food, it’s a must-try. You won’t regret it!
Ordered take out on a Monday and it was busy which I took to be a good sign. Had Pad See Ew Chicken, Drunken Noodles Chicken and Panang Curry. I was quoted 20 minutes but it was more like 35. Wait staff was very polite and friendly while I waited and even offered me water on a hot day.
Since I picked up the food myself, I was truly expecting really fresh tasting food but the noodle dishes were dry and really lacked flavor. Drunken noodle was appropriately spicy but chicken was sparse and it was bland. Same for pad see ew, chicken and broccoli were sparse.
The Panang was delicious but the side of rice I ordered (doesn’t come with) had the mush the happens at the bottom of the rice cooker and for what you pay for, it just doesn’t cut it.
I remember having Thai Bistro and it just tasted “just made”. I am often disappointed with noodles at Thai restaurants these days for the same reasons so I will keep searching.
Thai food that tastes great AND healthy!
The chef/owner (who btw has a PhD in BioChem and super down to earth) came by our table and spoke about his ingredients and his cooking process. I really appreciate the time he took to do that.
I highly recommend!
Amazing!!
Went out to eat one last time before flying out, and let me tell you… OH MY GOODNESS one of the best Thai I have ever had! It taste so fresh, and it’s not greasy like all the other Thai places. This one is different and a GOOD different. Definitely worth it!
I came to Thai Thyme for the first time this past Sunday and was just blown away. I was so impressed with the food! The food was so tasty and fresh. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Chef and owner Thai came to our table and told us about his food and about his love and passion for cooking that started when he was a young kid. He shared his journey that brought him here to opening this beautiful restaurant with the help of his beautiful wife. His wife always encouraged him to share his talent with everyone from her yoga friends, friends, and now all of us. She is absolutely lovely and also is working here. Wow he sure has a great eye and a natural talent for interior decorating too! This place is so beautiful with great energy flowing throughout it. Thai is so friendly and so humble. I feel like he treated us like family with such warmth. I was super impressed to know that he doesn’t use oil when he cooks. He uses a wok and cooks his meat at 450 degrees so the only oil in this food is the oil from the meat itself. I’m so happy my friend Nichole chose to eat here because it was the best Thai food I ever had and the best experience I have had eating at a restaurant.
What an amazing experience altogether! They were so accommodating for my family. Chef Thai came and spoke with us, telling us his wonderful life journey. He shared with us his story which made the whole experience personable! The food was unbelievable. The flavors were perfect and the meal was not too heavy but incredibly filling. Also, it is so wonderful to find a restaurant that thinks of families. They brought out, without us asking, small bowls and plastic utensils for our two small children. That thoughtfulness alone deserves 10 stars! Not many places are that conscientious. I cannot recommend this place more! We will definitely be frequenting it often!
I’ve gone here several times. I love the atmosphere, great background music and the staff make you feel at home.
The food has always tasted better than I expected, and I’ve always left satisfied.
Chef Thai has over 30 years of experience and it shows. The ingredients are always fresh and the spicing is right on.
I rarely post reviews, but I felt Thai Thyme is so good I needed to shout from the rooftop or more realistically post here.
The food was great. Very flavorful. Loved the fresh, delicious vegetables. Chef Thai was so friendly and helpful. The staff was wonderful. I love the building and the warm, friendly atmosphere.
Order chicken satay, crab fried rice, and pad see ew for takeout and the total was $52.
The chicken satay was good. Portions are big but it’s $14 for appetizer.
Crab fried rice was not good. The crab meat was still cold and taste frozen and bland. The rice also was not seasoned. The crab meat was also in lumps and not mixed with the rice. It was not good and not worth $18.
The pad see ew is also bland and did not taste good. Overall, it’s a little expensive for Thai food and the food needs serious improvement.
This is the best Thai food I have ever had. Chef Thai (that's his real name) really made our dining experience. I took my parents who have never had Thai food before and Chef Thai made recommendations that were spot on. Food was very flavorful with just the right amount of spice and served family style. You could taste the freshness and flavor in the vegetables, like they were picked in the morning and served in the evening. The ambiance was like being at home, eating a meal in your own dining room. I will be returning very soon.
