Noodles, curries & other standard Thai dishes round out the menu at this humble, laid-back fixture.
I been coming here for almost 20 years now and the food is amazing. Now you guys definitely need to upgrade for delivery service because I am sure you would have way more people to order your delicious food. I definitely would order way more since I am not too close to the area anymore
I had high expectations from all the positive reviews, but my dine-in experience definitely fell short in service, food and atmosphere. :-(
We were n town and stopped by because of the good reviews. But the food we ordered was mediocre. We ordered paht Thai, paht see ew and a side of pickled cucumbers. Very simple food with not much ingredients or flavor and no heat at all, plus no chili paste offered to us. I just don't see how people can rate the food so high. They must have never experienced Thai food anyplace else.
The portions are small for the price, which the server warned us about, but I thought the quality would be higher. She didn't seem happy that we didn't want an order for each person in our group (three young kids, 2 adults). The Thai iced tea was good.
The sodas are served in a can even though the menu makes it seem like they are fountain drinks.
There was no one else in the small eatery during lunch hours. Maybe it's mostly to-go orders?
There is a $20 minimum order if you want to use credit cards. There is metered street parking.
This is more of a fast casual place, where you place your order and they bring the food out for you. Very kind customer service but there is not waiters atm. They give real metal silver wear but they give the food out as well as you eat off of paper plates. Not a big issue for me personally.
Very veryyyyy clean! Really clean tile floor and I really like the photography around the walls and plants c:
We ordered two Thai teas, pad see shrimp, tum yum shrimp, and massaman curry with tofu. Had to order 2 “large” orders of rice separately cause none of the dishes come with rice.
The steamed rice servings were very small. One large serving is these small scoops of white rice. So one real scoop of rice. Felt kinda cheated here tbvh haha
Pad see was bomb! Everything was cooked very well! No complaints really!!!
massaman curry was thick and yummy as well as the tofu being fried just enough! I, personally, don’t get raw bell pepper on top or finely chopped peanut when I order this dish in other places. Although I enjoyed the new experience with the bell pepper, wasn’t really able to get a good taste of the peanuts when it’s done this way, which I’m not a fan of cause I love having that certain texture when eating this dish. Regardless the dish was really great, would prob try a different curry next time.
The soup looked amazing. All the spices were there, very flavorful but there was no salt so it was lackin sadly. But woooo if it had the pinch of salt when cookin it would be really amazing.
Serving size and price was a miss for me but regardless I recommend!
Heeeey this place is pretty good! So unsuspecting, had no idea it existed until I moved close by and saw it while driving by. The staff are so friendly and they put so much care into their food. Portions are huge and prob the best crab fried rice I’ve had in LA. Make sure to bring cash, if your bill is under $20 I believe.

Been coming here since I was a kid. Love their food and service!
It was pretty solid
My family loves the foods from here. Best Thai food in K-town. Used to lived just across the street, it was so convenient. It’s been 5 years that I moved out from the area, and still order foods from here.
Solid place! My new favorite neighborhood spot. The woman who runs it is super friendly and is helpful with parking.
pretty good affordable food in ktown, a bit small on servings imo
comforting and very tasty good. service is very nice and friendly. would come again.
Plats délicieux, service excellent et très accueillant, merci beaucoup 🙏
Verschiedene Thai Curries verfügbar. Sehr nette Bedienung. Absolut empfehlenswert, wenn man in Koreatown thailändisch essen möchte.
Little Thai restaurant, very nice and friendly. The food is very good and delicious, big portions are served swiftly. Choose between spicy and Medium. Chop sticks on request. We were very pleased with the good meal. Highly recommended.
This is has been my go-to Thai place for a year now. The quality of the food and the outstanding service make me come back. I've sampled most of the menu now and each dish has been outstanding. The rice dishes, the noodle dishes are generous, fresh and perfectly proportioned. They don't skimp, they don't cut corners. One of my favorites.
Chicken soup is no good almost no liquid chicken that is hard as a rock can’t chew…I don’t recommend this place…

Great food at affordable price and friendly staff. Note that they focus heavily on take-outs.
The food here is so good and the portions are huge. We were in the mall nearby and decided to try the chicken katsu and spicy garlic chicken with sides to go and it was $20 not to mention the amazing service and friendly workers. Definitely try if you’re in the area. Super convenient to the metro as well!
Been here for many many times, open since 90s very authentic Thai cuisines at affordable price. EVERYTHING TASTES SO GOOD / HEARTY & HEALTHY meal options.
If you like authentic Thai foods like Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Tom Kar Kai , Tom Yum Koong Soups, Thai curry (red, green, yellow, mussaman curry, etc)… I highly recommend because they taste very delicious !! (A lot of portions and the price is cheap)
Highly recommend all the stir fried noodles (pad Thai, pad see ew, egg onion rice noodle(#64)) and fried rice
Also Thai curries (Mussaman curry (so good) and yellow curry are not spicy at all , spicy curries like red curry (has bamboo shoots inside) taste nice too)
And soups - Tom Yum Koong (spicy seafood noodle) , Tom Yum Kai (non spicy , lemongrass based coconut soup , tastes sour , but so good)
Their Thai ice tea is very tasty too !
We called to order for pick up, and the lady who works at the restaurant was waiting for me when I called again at the store at arrival.
( Curbside pick-up available at right in front of the store, when you order ahead of time over the phone - you can pay via credit or debit card without having to get into the store , just call the store when you arrive )
We ordered a lot of Thai foods waiting for for 2023 New Year’s Day service at my church, we really enjoyed everything thank you so much 😊 Thank you for the delicious foods everytime. God bless you all !

By far one of the best Thai places in LA. Customer service A+++
Love you guys

Tasty eats @ decent prices- i will return
Really good, spice level is well done where mild is a bit spicy. Tastes like they manage the ingredients well.
Yummy food and great service 😋

Delicious and fresh homemade style food
Very courteous service and clean
They've been operating in the neighborhood for a very long time. If you don't know about it, you probably drove past it without knowing.
I got the chicken pad thai, and it came out hot and fresh. The attendant seems like a very sweet person. I would return.
It should be advised you can only purchase with card if you buy $20 minimum, no dine in allowed
Pretty good, will be back!
Impeccable service and Thai food :)
Excellent THAI Cuisine on 6th near Western .
Food is great for the price. Not going to pretend it is the best Thai food on town, bit it's good enough and they give you plenty of it at a very good price. The worker there is very nice also. If you're going to do take out, she will generally bring the food out to your car if you let her know that you've arrived.
This is my go-to place for red curry. The price is right. The potions are generous. The food is great. It's small, family owned, and struggling like every other small restaurant right now. If you care about your neighborhood (Koreatown), and you like Thai food (especially red curry), give them some business. They need it; and along with helping a family in your neighborhood, you're going to eat well.
Great food and great prices.
Horrible customer service will never come here again. How do you expect to be open long during this pandemic with that bad attitude.
horrible service
Thai food is exceptional in itself but what makes it even more so, it's when is done correctly. The flavors are fresh and the portions are good. You can tell they take pride in their food and treat their dishes with fresh ingredients. This is a hidden gem and hopefully not many people find out about it because this is the best kept little secret in Koreatown.
Ordered here for the first time today. Food was amazing and service was phenomenal.
My motto in life as is in Yelp is always under promise and over deliver so I apologize in advance if my review is too good to live up to but Tip's House is the best Thai joint I've ever had PERIOD. So much so that if I was not so lazy, I would go subtract 1 star from all other Thai places I gave 5 stars to because this place is that much better than the rest, especially if you're comparing to Thai restaurants in or around Ktown to DTLA. I'm talking about in terms of flavor, quality, freshness, portions, price, and customer service. Yes, this place is that much better than the rest.
There's a reason why this little cute hole in the wall restaurant has been in business for 25+ years. All the locals nearby know and swear by it. If you've never been, give it a try! If you've never had Thai food or if you're not well versed in Thai food, pick up the phone and the nice lady who's always there will help you. People who run this place is super nice, kind, and patient. (I say "people" but I've only dealt with this one lady who I presume to be the owner or maybe the daughter of the owner.)
Food is just unbelievably DELICIOUS!!! Portions are VERY GENEROUS, especially for the price. You get a good 1.5x more than most places. Food is super fresh, made to order. They are currently still serving during this COVID pandemic. The two times I've been during the COVID situation, they had parking space available literally right in front of the restaurant and the nice lady brought my food out right away. I mean for goodness sake, how many Thai places do you see pack hot sauce and picked jalapenos when you didn't even ask for them?!?! This place really cares about their customers as they should! (Restaurants like this has really disappeared and it's so unforunate!)
Shrimp Pad Thai is a must. YES!!! I was never a big Pad Thai fan but yes, this is a must. Chicken Pad See Yew is bomb! Panang Chicken curry is super delicious! We tried the garlic beef today which was amazing. (Beware: You will be blowing out garlic breath like a Dragon for the rest of the day if you get this garlic beef tho.) All this for exactly $40.50!!!
My wife and I eat like the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park and we still have just as much food left over for dinner. I keep forgetting to take pics because we're just so excited but I promise I'll post pics next time!
I can't believe I only just found this hidden little gem. Tasty food at a good price with very friendly service. The shrimp were fresh and tender and the spring rolls large and crispy.
The lady even held the door open for me as I left, I'll be back again.
The food is cook fresh!!
Best Thai Food in 6th west st. Los Angeles
Cheap, quick and delicious! What more could you want? Friendly staff. I'm a fan of their combos.
I am always in the market for homemade taste food with a little bit of jazz after been fed up with heavy msg foods or bbq all my life. And voila. Tip's House. My husband and I was so satisfied with their food and service. They take credit card so no need to take cash.
My family and I have been going to Tip’s for years now and it’s the best Thai food in LA !!! Very very inexpensive and we’re always welcomed. I highly suggest giving it a try if you’re around.
Good Thai food, atmosphere slightly lacking, but the staff was great!
Love this place!! Excellent food, Amazing staff & Superb prices.
This is the best food I ever had and I think more people should know about it 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I drive 3 hours to go eat there awsome food awsome people give it a try no regrets
Is good
Cash only. I love the food here. Big portions and plenty spicy if you want it that way.
The food is great
Great food.
The pad thai tastes not that fresh, and the flavor is just fine. Not worth to have it again.
Excellent place. Food is delicious and the waitress Canica is a delight! She’s been here since I can remember and I been coming here since birth. Definitely recommend this to anyone that visits koreatown !!!!
love it! been coming to this place over 20 years now . spicy mint chkn and combination chow mein are great
😍😍😍😍😍😍
Food is ok
Excelente
Great service
Great
Good service thank you
Very useful!
Great place
Maybe the 2nd best kept secret in LA,😉 Clean enough to service my Grandmother, 🤥large enough to fill my 19 year old's bottomless gut, DELICIOUS!!!!.(we love you Binh)customized enough to please my 6 year old foodie, priced right for a family of four, (The only place my mother eats full shrimp👌🏾In LA) on second thought....stay away, stay far away!!!! I got it at target😉
Best thai food in the neighborhood! 🤙🏼
This is one of my favorite places to eat lunch in the neighborhood. I have been going for nearly 10 years, and the food and service are delicious and enjoyable.
Been coming here for over 20 years! Love the house special chow mein with no bean sprouts. Service is excellent Kanika knows our order every time!
A Little rude but not too bad. Poor selection. No thai chilis. Cannot make the food spicy, I have to add myself.
Best Food ever
#7 BBQ pork spare rib & thai iced tea.
Those words don't even need to come out of my mouth, as I have been a repeat customer here for the last 13 years and they know me like family now. My mom has been coming here since 1991, and swears it hasn't changed a bit since. Tip's House has had exceptional food and service since the first time I walked through the glass door.
The dressing they use for the starter salad is unbelievable, causing me to buy a small container every time i pass by (They technically don't sell it to customers, but they know i travel far to visit them). The sauce they use for their BBQ is delicious as it doesn't over power the rich flavors of the spare rib. The egg rolls are probably the best I have ever had, perfectly crunchy, with the most balanced sweet & sour sauce to go along with it.
My mom and grandma swear by the spicy garlic shrimp which also looks like a mouth-watering delicacy of its own.
Needless to say, this is one place that I hope never changes, because it's not just the great food that makes Tip's House have an emotional connection with my past, but their attention and devotion to caring for customers is impeccable.
My go to spot for Pad Thai. They have other items but i always regret when i order something else. The waitress is cool. Just don't try to customize your order. The answer is no. Hahahah trust me.
This was a take out order:
Customer Service:
Great! The woman who took my order was very nice and patient.
The order took a little less than 15 minutes to prepare.
Our Order:
Pad See Ew (pork)
Garlic Chicken (à la carte), spicy
Pad Thai (chicken)
Pint of Fried Rice
* The food was great! I mean all this cost a little under $25!! You can't beat the quality and price. We will be back!
This order was for two adults, and it was the perfect amount!!! Just a little bit left for left overs. The woman who works there also told me that next time I can call ahead and they will run it out to the car (since the parking is difficult). So next time I am going to do that.
*Cash only
I am giving it 4 stars since it's not the best thai food I have ever had, but it's certainly good and I will be back for sure! If you are willing to drive to Hollywood, Pa Ord Noddle is AMAZING thai!
My co-workers and I eat here at least once a week and we love it. Simple and delicious is what I would say about this place. As unique and different the service is here, it's also excellent. The lady who takes ordres as well as brings you the bill is so kind, funny and sweet. What a great experience.
I've had the combination pad thai with no peanuts due to
allergies
Basil chicken
Basil shrimp
Shrimp rolls
All are very delicious
We're on our way home from work when we stopped by this place for early dinner. We just wanted to try Portuguese food and eating this type of food for the first time made us really excited. This place is small. When we came, there were only two tables left. We ordered two of their spicy dinner special. Although too spicy for us but the taste was great. I ordered myself a pad Thai and it was the best I have had. Very spicy but incredibly flavourful! We even ordered one more for my co-worker. Every one of us had a great time eating Portuguese food for the first time.
The downfall of this place are their parking area and the eating area. Both are small. So instead of five star, I will rate them 4.
Friendly service, delicious thai food, good portion size at a reasonable price!
Parking is sometimes a hassle!
Cash only!
excellent food. really tasty.
The food here is good but not great. My favorite lunch meal is the Satay Chicken, its a great meal for finishing off a long day of work. Most of the meals are very affordable; however this place does need some work.
Mediocre at best, no style, lousy decor.
