Mesa is the name for the month of April in Thailand that is the hottest month of the year. It is like our food. We serve street food that is hot, spicy, tasty, and authentic from Thailand to Los Angeles.
Hidden Gem Thai restaurant in LA! I wish I knew this authentic Thai food earlier. I have a chance to visit LA and finally made a trip to Mesa Thai after hearing how great this place is.
Food and service are excellent.
MUST TRY - Fried Tofu is OUTSTANDING
I never ever had fried tofu like Mesa anywhere in my life. Sweet Corn salad & Salty Eggs is stunning delicious. I will definitely go back every time I visit LA.
Amazing Authentic Thai Food!
I had the pleasure of dining at Mesa Thai in Los Angeles, and it was hands down the most authentic Thai food I’ve ever had! Every dish was absolutely delicious, and the portions were just perfect—not too big, not too small. The prices are fair, making it an affordable option for anyone craving authentic flavors. The service was quick, too, which made the experience even better.
Now that I’m back in Canada, I find myself craving Mesa Thai every day! I can’t wait to go back on my next visit to LA. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for a true Thai food experience!
I visited this place when I came travelling to LA, and this was one of the most memorable meals we had. We came to this place because it was close to our hotel and it was so good. Their Tom Yum soup is one of the best I’ve ever had and their dishes like the green curry and pad Thai were also really good and came with a lot of meat. If you’re in the area I recommend checking this place out if you’re looking for good Asian/Thai food!! The service was also great and the staff were very welcoming.
I’ve heard about this place for a while,So I decided to give it a chance and here is what I think.
Vibe : Look just like street food restaurant in Thailand which I like,It’s felt authentic.
Service : When I was there look like they only have 1 server for the whole entire restaurant,So service might not be the fastest but not that bad.
Parking : Quite a pain because the restaurant located in a small plaza and parking spot was narrow which street parking might be better options but I got lucky that day when I was there the spot right in front of the restaurant was open.
Food : We order a bunch of stuffs which we love all of them.A Tom Yum noodle with chicken was great but be careful with spice level because their chili was quite spicier that everywhere else.Tum Korat was good! Papaya was crunchy and seasoned very well.Isaan sausages was good as well.My favorite was Mango Salad with Raw Blue Crabs! It taste just like Thailand! To die for!
I didn’t live in Hollywood but if I have a chance to be in the area I’ll definitely be back!
Food was special. A little salty, but unique.
I got the small beef boat noodle soup. I could get it with the pho noodles, which I loved. The soup is very salty and flavorful, and there were various meats in it. I didn't know small would be so small: it's like a kid's portion. I should have gotten the large. If you don't like salty food, you might not like this.
The tofu pop was interesting. It was hollow and served with a salty, sour, spicy sauce. The tofu kind of deflates gently like a balloon when you bite into it. The texture is unique, but not everyone will like it.
The fried rice is salty but delicious.
The pad see ew is also very salty but delicious.
If you don't like salty food, ask the waitress for recommendations. She was very helpful in helping us pick foods.
I want to give a shout out to that poor waitress who was serving a full restaurant on her own. Please give her a raise.
Also, the prices were incredibly cheap. Come here while dishes are $12-14!
Super authentic Thai restaurant in USA! Mesa Thai is giving you a real Thai food with authentic ingredients that you may not find anywhere in USA. I’m so happy that I’ve tried this place and I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to try real Thai food and feel like you’re already sitting and eating in Thailand! Bravo!!
Would give zero stars but there isn’t an option, anyways the restaurant doesn’t have anything I went to try it and they where out of shrimp and drinks which how if it’s lunchtime and service is bad of the start. Food isn’t that great and overall not the best experience
Great service and food

I had an annoying experience here. Wanted to get some plain noodles for my toddler and the cashier insisted on trying to charge me full price even though I wanted a small portion of plain noodles with no veggies, sauce, or meat. He said it was bc they give more noodles if there’s no meat or veggies?? I asked him if there was a small portion or size for kids and he said no. When I checked the menu, there was an option for plain steamed noodles for $4. I ended up ordering that but they also have a minimum of $14 for a credit card charge, just fyi
Amazing food and literally the best service. 10/10 will come here again.
GOOD

Just for your information that they’re charging for thai spicy without informing nor written on
the menu. Which is no any restaurant doing this. I won’t go back.
BBQ pork was amazing!
Great food. Real authentic Thai. Love it.
One of my favorite Thai restaurants in the city. Authentic food, great service!

Great, like traditional in Thailand.
The food was absolutely amazing. It was fresh and flavorable. I would highly recommend this place!
This place has caught my eye for a while and today passed by to try it!
It was awesome walking in there! The atmosphere was amazing! The decoration is amazing! I love it!
I ordered to go and the staff was very nice, gave me a menu right away and boom! I waited for a few minutes and I was on my way.
Next time gonna eat there! Can't wait.
พี่มาจากแวนคูเวอร์ แคนาดา อาหารอร่อยมากมาย บริการดีมากๆ ขอบคุณนะคะ
best papaya salad ive ever had! helpful service very authentic thai food, as good or better than most thai town spots. excited to come back and try more soon
🇹🇭 THAILAND (via Eat the World Los Angeles) - A great pair for sticky rice is Mesa’s wonderful larb. On the menu they have pork and chicken versions, but if you mention you are in the mood for beef, they can do that too. The deeply rich and smoky larb nuer ลาบเนื้อ is almost a must order going forward. These bold flavors from the roasting of red peppers and rice powder, combine with mint and many other herbs and of course the fires of many chilies.
Best and real Authentic Thai food by Thai people in LA. It is exactly Thai dish that sell in Thailand. There are a lot of Thai menu. My friend around here also speak the same. I went there every week for the Thai boat noodle and Yum Moo Yor
1 order of Pad Thai Togo took 25 mins.
Amazing Thai food, the salads are the best.
Great food with great prices
Love everything about this place. Food/ service. Great experience.
Easily one of the top spots for THAI thai food in LA..
But if you are really seriously in search of actual Thai food, ask for the secret menu, owner Khun Apple have a thai-thai menu for those craving an even more authentic flavor (and expert level hotness. if you order one of those, please don't yell at the waitress if you can't handle it)
Love eating here. The staff is so friendly and the food tastes delicious. If I'm ever in the Los Angeles area and craving Thai food, this is my first stop.
Good food and Thai authentic. One more place to try this food.
We have only had take-out from here. Always great flavors and satisfying meals. Nice service. The actual place is utilitarian and canteen like but usually full of Thai peeps.
Love the krapow tray
The food is good, but the food comes out very late, the service is terrible, I really don't recommend it. But if you can accept it, try it
My favorite Thai place to go for noodles. And Pad ka prao Delicious !!!!
Best place to get papaya salad and Northeastern Thai food. Might be a little wait but every dishes done by the owner. Best time to go is off prime time. Boat noodles are absolutely how we have them in Thailand.
Boat Noodle is the best 👌 👍
Boat noodle was really good! One of the best but I would recommend you to warning people about how spicy it is. Because when people just came for the first time, we wouldn’t know for sure. My cousins’ tongues were burning.
Other things were okay.
the seafood soup was delicious!
I was in town from San Diego and had been craving boat noodles. My friend said this was probably the best he's had so far since he moved back to LA. He was not wrong. I love how thick the broth is and flavorful it is. I was excited to hear that they have a small and regular bowl. I ordered myself a small bowl and it was fulfilling already. Definitely would recommend if you're craving for some good boat noodles. The only downfall is that it says it opens at 11:20am, reality they don't open until 12pm which we had to hang out and wait for awhile, but worth the wait. We had ordered the yum shrimp and pork salad. All were delicious!
Original Thai
One of the rare instances where I don’t take a picture because I am too busy stuffing my face. I’m coming back here for sure.
More authentic than most places in Hollywood.
Service was a bit slow but my family had fun
Actually pretty good!
Excellent value. Large portions, good prices, and authentic fare. I would make this my regular place if I wasn’t from out of state
Better than I was expecting. Their food is really good.
The waiters were rude. The food was really bad. No seasoning, raw veggies, watery soup! Everything we ordered was awful. It’s very pricey for terrible quality of food. I’m sorry that I came.
Solid Thai cooking for a reasonable price. Parking lot is small and sketchy.
This is the place that serves the authentic thai foods. Flavorful and portions are perfect. The place isn’t too big but they have the best dishes.
-Pad Kraprow tad is extremely delicious 10/10 real thai basil and perfect cook .
-Som Tam Blue crab plaraa is super good (ask for thai spicy if you can handle) got a white rice just to kill it with
-Pork jerky is enough for what you needed
I would recommend this place for anyone I know
I’ve heard good things about this restaurant. So my friends and I decided to try it. Our experience was the opposite. We are Thai, we thought the food was not authentic, just mediocre ,like many Thai restaurants in Thai town. Tom yum Fish was too sweet and so was Yum Nam Kao Tod. Som Tam was okay. The spicy corn salsa was good.
The service was uneven. We ordered sticky rice 3 times never got it , finally cancelled it. Another dish, Moo Tok Kruk, never arrived.
Our group’s vaccine status was carefully checked. Others who arrived afterward were never checked at all. This trouble me.
Never again. The food was nasty. I believe I was overcharged as well.
Delicioso Thai ice tea y su comida delicioso
AMAZING SERVICE & FOOD!!! love the ambiance and there are so many vegetarian options which are so helpful and their peanut butter sauce is so yummy!
Best thai in LA, hands down. I've tried a couple of different dishes and they're all delicious and authentic! I recently moved from living in Thailand for 8 months to LA and always go to Hoy Ka when I'm missing it. Never disappoints! Get the Panang curry with tofu and thank me later!!
Good food. Boat noodle is the best
Worst customer service!!
La comida es muy buena, sobre todo mi favorito, el Thai te, solo el servicio deja mucho que desear, no es bueno, no se paran en tu mesa para preguntar si necesitas algo.
The food here is great. Very flavorful with fresh ingredients. The service fluctuates tho.
Roaming around in LA and trying to search for a decent Thai restaurant. After reading a lot of reviews from different restaurants, I decided to give this restaurant a try. I am Thai and wanted to say the taste of each dish we ordered (except for boat noodles) were quite authentic and excellent! Papaya salad with pla-ra and raw crab just hit the spot! My son loved the grilled pork and their deep fried shrimp. Boat noodles was not bad, just a bit on the sweet side, which I didn't care for. Overall, I would definitely recommend!
Service was awesome and staff were friendly! Prices was suitable for the portion. Oh, we also got Thai tea as. It was good but I would have liked it a bit stronger. Thank you for serving us your delicious food.
PS. Covid restrictions in LA are definitely not good for any business.
Muy buena comida.
Excelente comida y servicio
La atención es lo mejor 👌
Good service
Restaurant was empty on a Friday Night, but still tried three dishes and was sorely disappointed by the chicken larb, and crying tiger. The Pad Kee Mow was just ok. I hope it was just because the chef called out sick for the one day or something. Also, the serving size was small.
Even though the server was very nice, I recommend people try other Thai options.
If you’re looking for real authentic Thai food, this is it, especially if you love spicy foods. I got their Chicken Larb and ordered it as spicy, it was probably one of the best larb salad that I’ve ever had. We also had the papaya salad, and it was pretty good and spicy - it had a strong peanut base to it and was slightly sweet but it was still delicious. Overall, I am definitely coming back here again!
Clean, delicious, great service. Oh I forgot did I say delicious.
Food are so bomb!
Fast service and delicious food
Awesome! Got pad thai, a side platter, and a thai iced coffee and everything was amazing! The staff are very nice and very attentive, the servings are large, and the prices are good.. Highly recommend.
A wonderful restaurant! The pad thai and thai ice coffee were AMAZING, and the owner is very sweet. I highly recommend!
It was really good for my first time being there good customer service and food was delicious
I went to Mesa Thai for the first time in early March 2020, before the pandemic had spread more in Los Angeles. I liked the food I ordered on that day, my first time there (but this space used to be a different Thai restaurant before Mesa: it was an Ocha Thai location, and I had dined in this location at least once back when it was still an Ocha Thai place), they had put enough pork that time, and I also liked how the woman who served me did so with a great personality, and I liked the feel of the place. I ordered BBQ pork and ate it there, because you have to eat BBQ pork while it's still hot. Update: I went on May 5th 2021 at lunch time to go and pick up two take-out orders of BBQ pork, this was only my second time ordering BBQ pork from them, and disappointment big time! They put such a small amount of BBQ pork, it’s just not worth $10.95 plus tax for each order. The first time I ordered that from them in March 2020, I remember that they had put enough, though not nearly as much as they put at Spicy BBQ Thai located at Normandie and Santa Monica Blvd, and that one costs only $12.95, only two dollars more, and the meat sometimes is better at the Normandie restaurant: yet I’ve found that so far, Khun Dom Thai food on Melrose Ave has the best BBQ pork for only $10.99. Another problem at Mesa Thai: In summer of 2020, I went and ordered one order of fried pompano fish with the special dip sauce on the side, a take out order which I took to-go. Tell you what: there was little meat on the fish, even though it wasn’t so small, yet it was skinny, not a plump individual: there was little meat on the fish, so it was as if it was small. The flavor of the fried pompano fish was quite good and the dip sauce on the side was excellent, but the small amount of meat on the fish was not a filling meal nor did it satisfy my fish craving that day, and the total cost was almost $18 with tax included. So yeah try it for the flavor, but you won’t get a filling meal or enough fish. The second time I went there, the nice woman I had encountered the first time was not there. The woman who served me on my second visit there was just ok. The 3rd time I went the severs were male, very nice-seeming people yes, but someone there in the back kitchen skimped on the food, and that’s not nice! The Mesa in the name of this restaurant is not that Spanish word that means “table”, the Mesa here is a Thai word that means “April” in Thai. I had done a search of that question before I went there my first time, so when I went I knew that this is not a Thai-Hispanic fusion restaurant. It’s Thai, only Thai food. On my 4th visit July 21st, 2021, they put very little Bbq beef in my bbq beef order, and not only that, most of the pieces were fat, not the good beef meat (and a lot of it was that tough, unchewable, inedible fat!). And they barely put any cabbage slivers underneath—-Dang, you’re stingy with the cabbage too? You do realize I paid you $13.09, not $2? Okay then, now it’s time for a 2 star rating. They had also put a small amount of bbq pork when I went in May 2021.
Good food and nice people - enjoyed the pad Thai and chicken teriyaki - both very good!
I came here out of convenience. First time ordering. I ordered the Cashew Nut with veggies and fried tofu; and Mixed Veggies with soft tofu in garlic sauce. I special requested it in garlic white sauce oppose to light brown sauce. Which I am sure would probably be tasty too. Both dishes were delicious. Not greasy, not heavy, not salty, flavors were spot on---not aggressive. Light and healthy. Adding this Thai place to my favorite list. Btw, friendly service with a smile. 😊
The food is so good! They have a few northern Thai dishes that are amazing.
Amazing, thank you!
really good food
Great authentic Thai food and very delicious. Our waiter was so nice and kind.
For production meals, I cannot recommend Mesa Thai enough!! They were remarkably accommodating, helpful with packaging meals in a COVID-cautious manner, helped load meals into the car, absolute angels, and so kind. Everyone on set LOVED their food - delicious, filling and within budget for indie films. Thank you!
Strong recommendations their Red Curry chicken.
Very friendly service. Fast and efficient.
Very filling cuisine. With standard take out a la carte options, and smaller starter choices which become very filling with a side of rice.🍚
Try their Thai Tea 🍹
Great food
Just delicious
Lunch specials are the bomb!
I love the food here!! I moved into the area a year ago, tried the food a week after, met Beah (sorry if I misspelled) also...hooked ever since!!
I don't recommend this place
1- the seven sea soup taste bad, " I thought Ocha is much better.
2 when someone order on line or postmates, they charge tax and processing service, (tax+processing service+delivery)
other restaurants don't,
3- they don put napkins,spoons.
Tried the pad thai it was ok a little to sticky and sweet
Recommend Som Tum in any kind they have in the menu. The must try is Som Tum with fermented fish!!! Bad smell but is usual for that. I do guarantee if you re into Thai foods this s the dish you should order. Have it with sticky rice or rice vermicelli. If you dont like fermented fish they re also have without it.
Absolutely my favorite spot for the best noodles and fried tofu around. Not heavy, doesn’t leave me feeling gross. Pretty sure this place is about to blow up, it’s that good.
Soup was perfect. Was just what I was looking for. Service was great kind and helpful. Will return to try other menu items. It was my first time here but won't be my last.
Pedí picante y nunca lo llevaron a la mesa
Good food
Good could be more organized and cleaner to be inviting, boba is good! I had shrimp chowmein
Food is sooooo good! Can’t wait to get hungry again to eat more lol
Great food, friendly staff
Really good food ..fresh.. and reasonably priced...humble people....
This restaurant is wonderful!
The woman behind the counter was especially happy to help us choose new dishes to try and explain what deserts were most authentic. They have a huge selection on the menu and her recommendations were spot on.
It's spaceous, wonderfully decorated and a calm place to grab a meal. Would recommend it to anyone and for groups of any size. Eat here! :)
Lo recomiendo muy deliciosa comida y fresca muy limpio y muy buen custoner service
It's a shame this place isn't busier.. the food is quite delicious. Abier [sorry for the misspelling] makes waiting for your to-go order very much interesting!! She's beautiful too!!
Love the food here especially Pad Thai, Yellow Curry and Pad Se Ew, very tasty! Nice place, friendly staffs and easy parking. Must try!!
Muy buen lugar . Economico y rapido
I recommend this restaurant for the delicious food they have drinks and service 100% recommended
Good service
Good taste, cheap and not busy place
Wonderful place with warm and cozy atmosphere. My favorite pad thai in the whole town. The staff are amazingly nice people.
Food is good but portions are too small to share they have parking
