We have a patio available for a great dining experience!
I placed a pickup order at 10 pm (only Thai restaurant in my area that was open at this time) and was pleasantly surprised with the nice decor of this place - They have a cute outdoor patio and I was tempted to dine instead of taking out. I tried their spicy scallops with rice and the food was good.
I will be back to try out some of their lunch specials next time !
I have come here periodically the past 5 years to get their pad thai. Its one of the better versions I have found in oc. The thai iced tea is also great. However today I leave extremely disappointed. I was paying for our meal via credit when the waitress looks over and says “ you no tip…please be nice “. I always tip in cash not credit. It was very disrespectful that she asked about a tip before I was even done paying. HORRIBLE WAY TO END MY MEAL. THE OWNERS OF THAILUSION NEED TO COACH THE STAFF ABOUT TIPPING OR PAY THEM A BETTER WAGE..I will never come back here again…this place should be ashamed of their employees conduct and will lose many customers with these tactics.
The food was very good. We ordered the Thai tea, pad Thai, and Tom yum soup. Just BE CAREFUL with the spice level as it can get really spicy even at level 2 spicey. We were not able to handle it, but our server was outstanding as she got us a new plate immediately without question and in a timely manner. Well, definitely come back again soon.
The main issue I have is this one male waiter. I normally go at least every other week and the last couple visits, he’s attended group. When we sit down, he’s already asking for our order rather than allowing time to review the menu. Even when asked to give us more time, he returns in a couple minutes.
The food is very good - no complaints there - but when the waiter brought the food, he was already giving us the receipt and he stood there waiting to get paid. I had to tell him I’ll pay after I’ve eaten.
I felt like they were trying to kick us out of the restaurant even though it was half empty.
Delicious food & good service!
I’m Indonesian & quite particular with food so I was pleasantly surprised how flavorful their food was.

Good friendly service, highly recommend fried tofu & chicken pad thai. Also, they open late too.
Out of business and still says OPEN on Google maps.

Always good Thai food at reasonable prices. Family-owned.

Amazing!
To start with, my friend ordered the pad Thai, and the noodles were extremely overcooked and stuck together like they'd been sitting in a pot for hours.
They served us water that was warm with no ice fairly nauseating! You should not have to ask for ice. Maybe in Thailand they don't serve you ice because it's a rarity but seriously.
I had the chicken pepper dish, , it was extremely oversalted to the point of wow! The spinach and broccoli and carrots that were supposed to be mixed with that and come with it cooked. We're barely even warm and they were such small little portion. It was more of a garnish than the actual food, it was on the side of the plate.
We had an appetizer starter with four shrimp spring rolls that were so poorly made. They all fell apart as we tried to eat them a real laughter, but not funny!
I should also mentioned that some of the shrimp in my friend's pad Thai was uncooked and barely warm. Not healthy...
All in all we got out of there for $53 in change. Ridiculously throwing my money down the toilet like that on restaurant. Food is absurd.
And one last thing I'll mention as the name of the restaurant States it is really a Thai illusion, I've had better street food.
Most definitely won't be back.
Food was wonderful. We sat outside which was nice. Service a tad bit slower but i think it was just two of them working.
We’ve been loving this place for years but the last couple visits have been less than. The service was not friendly. Not rude but not friendly. Also our order was not correct and no apology or offer to correct was given. The mango sticky was also not their original recipe which was unlike other Thai places in that it was not super sweet. They’ve changed it be like all the other restaurants. Maybe my friends and I were the only ones who preferred their original recipe? Lastly they cleared our table without asking we were done or offering more refills on drinks or anything. The place was not crowded so we felt kind of pushed out. We’ll be going to Coconut Rabbit as our go-to Thai restaurant instead.
I used to be so happy with this place but not until i recently came on Feb 24 , 2023. We were the only couple in the restaurant , until more customers showed up. They were super quick with serving us in the beginning but once other customers came , they didn’t check up on us at all for about 40 minutes. They gave small portion sizes as well. Once we were all ready to pay , we left a small tip because we didn’t feel like it was a good service. The waitress comes to us and looks at the tip and says “Is everything okay , you only tipped us $2?” And my boyfriend said “Yes it was just really slow, and we felt the need to tip that amount”. The waitress proceeds to there in front of us and looks at my boyfriend up and down , rolled her eyes and walked away. You don’t ask for a tip , a tip is earned !!!!
Never coming back , Horrible !!!!!!!
Place was a tad hidden but it made it all interesting and mysterious. The staff was very welcoming and friendly we arrived early for lunch on a Friday. Two of us had Pad Thai and one dude some stir fried dish as the “Lunch Special “ around $14. A soup or salad is offered first we all picked soup since it was rainy weather. Soup was in a cute bowl and delicious! The Pad Thai portion was just right for a hungry man like me! Lots of flavor and yummy noodles lots of chicken too! ALL THREE AGREED TO RETURN ASAP! I look forward to returning and trying another dish!!! Thank you Thailusion! 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Excellent spring rolls and won ton soup.
I had a horrible experience with this restaurant . A tan looking server young looking looked at me like I didn’t belong in the restaurant because I tried using Apple Pay. She proceeds outside to show me that there’s no Apple logo outside. She tells me you should use cash or a card. I was like wow. Aside from the payment option which is frankly the least of my worries. The food was very bland. I did not finish the noodles . The soup was just water with a bit of spices that didn’t have any flavor to it. The noodles were soggy and I wasn’t impressed at all. The food left a sour taste in my mouth . Never coming back. I wouldn’t come back if they paid me to. I had to go out of my way to get cash while people waited for me to get out the way. FYi— they don’t take Apple Pay not sure about credit cards either since the server mentioned the machine wasn’t working
Really great 👍
Great service and most of all great food. Staff was very attentive. Would highly recommend.

Food was excellent as always. We got the Pad Woonsen, bbq chicken, and yellow curry. So tasty and service was great!
The food was delicious and was served in large quantities! will be coming back, thank you!
We hadn't been here in years because we stopped working in the area but the food was AWESOME then and it's even MORE AMAZING NOW!!! Phenomenal curries!!! Best Thai in OC!!! Can't wait to come back again!!!
Update as of 9/2/23
Had the pleasure of returning to order a very special take-out for 4 people...
Alek so graciously made sure Everything was PERFECT and INCREDIBLY YUMMY!!!
THERE TRULY IS NO BETTER THAN THAILUSION!!!
Customer service was very poor. Doesn't take too much to greet customer, check to see how food was, thanks us for coming...but then expects a tip.
Our favourite local Thai restaurant. Consistently good food and excellent attentive service. 2 dishes is plenty for 3 adult meals.
Awesome place on a quiet back shopping center!
Wonderful, quiet and soothing ambiance. Excellent service. We each had a small bowl of Tom ka gai, a spicy coconut milk based soup with chi, mushrooms and lemon grass. This was accompanied by an appetizer of crispy deep-fried tofu with peanut sauce. For our main course we chose spicy eggplant with tofu, green curry with chicken, and a delicious dark brown rice. This was the most delightful green curry I have ever tasted. we boxed about a third of the meal to take home. Thailusion is one of the best Thai restaurants in southern California.
Really nice Thai restaurant that we found, kind of hidden a bit. The service is wonderful, very kind staff, and the food is also wonderful. An all around excellent place to enjoy.
Amazing food. Will go back for sure!
Very tasty, good portions, attentive service. Curry was very nice! Will definitely return!!
The best food and great recommendations on what to order.
Really good experience food so good nice place .
Slow staff and strange tasting curry
All I can say is super delicious 😋
Yummy yummy yummy
Was told this was a good restaurant what a lie that was.
This is hands down the best Thai food I’ve ever had.
Good Food Good service
I got the crab ragoon **
The tom yum vegetarian **
And egg rolls ****
Pad thai ***
Fast service, very sweet food was ok but upset my stomach immediately so I don't feel like I gained any weight from the food lol (it went it right through me if ya didn'tcatch that) lol 😅 I don't have a sensitive stomach btw. Tom yum was good first couple bites then the tomato presences was a little too strong and it was a little too sweet.
The crab ragoons weren't my cup of tea, very strong sour cream flavor no crab not worth the price. Egg rolls were perfect just the dipping sauce didn't hit the spot. Didn't get to 5he pad Thai because my tummy started saying nope but it looked good. So I give 3 stars for takeout looked like a cool place would have given 4 but after spending 60$ I was hoping not to have slight food poisoning. But again it's not too severe so I'd probably try them again.
After now ordering at 7 and it's 111 so 4 hours of running to the bathroom I have to change the rating to a 2... yeah laugh it up ppl but seriously I was really excited about this place and now I'm glad my dog doesn't judge my poor decisions. I don't know if anyone else felt like this today but no fun.. sorry Thailusion I tried to keep it positive but someone messed up 😔
No es muy Bonita la decoration no me gusto y Los precios no justifican la comida
Delicious food and ample portions. Nice outdoor dining in a good location. Friendly service. Reasonable prices.
Comida con textura y sabores originales totalmente la recomiendo sea tu primera vez consumiendo comida tailandesa o no te encantara
Been coming here for years. Always good and reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere too.
Had the best green curry I've ever had in my life here.
Excellent food. Very consistent. And a quiet little patio if you want to eat outside.
Terrible service, waited almost 10 minutes to be acknowledged by staff. Was here to pick up multiple orders and they were 20 minutes over quotes time. Didn't apologize or offer any discount for inconvenience. Wasted my lunch break.
A very nice hidden gem in Los Alamitos area. I have been here two times now, and the food was good on both instances. The restaurant is kept clean with very nice Thai decor. The service is friendly and fast. The have a good selection sake. I used to be a regular at nearby Coconut Rabbit Thai Restaurant, and I have to say Thailusion has better selection, taste and generous portions.
Came here to try some food because of the Los Al Bucks program. The employees are so friendly & the food is delicious
Great service & food
Fireman's curry was great...not super spicy like the name may infer. It even came with a heart shaped rice!
Great food, service, & overall value
Love this place! Food and service always have been good. Moving to Texas soon and will miss Thailusion.
Matcha Cheesecake. Say no more!
Never fails that each time we order, the food is fresh and delicious!!! They have friendly staff too!! I love their fireman’s curry, shrimp fried rice, coconut shrimp, pad Thai and their Thai tea!! 😋
Really Good!
We enjoyed several different items. Each one made you want more.
If you use Yelp, be sure to use your coupon for free Thai tea. It's like drinking See's candy.
Tastes very good!
Best thai food in nearby. I love the chili hot basil with ground chicken - a recommendation from the hostess had become my standard order
Food is fantastic and staff is always so nice.
Really generous portions here but was under seasoned and not as flavorful as typical thai food restaurants that we go to. May give it another chance but will try the other restaurants in the area first.
Great Food and Great Service, I could eat there everyday! Love the Lunch specials and the portion size is perfect for a midday meal. Don't forget to try the Fireman's Curry!
Ordered Pad Kee Mao and was very happy with how it tasted. 5 stars.
Asian Crepes, Yellow Curry, pineapple fried rice: always very, very good. Thai BBQ chicken: awesome.
My go to Thai restaurant. In love with their spicy egg plant dish. Cannot get enough of it. Owners are very friendly and know me by name.
Great place! Family recipes at great prices. Really enjoyable
Great customer service, great food and clean restaurant.
Amazing food, wonderful atmosphere. I love this place!
Recently moved to the area and have tried out all the local thai places but this ones is officially our spot! Faves are the chow main, drunken noodle, and both yellow and panang curries. That you guys for great service, great food, and a very cute patio!
My wife and I have been coming here since when we were just dating and have Loved every single trip here we have made. The staff is super friendly and accommodating which is always a big deal for me. If you treat me like you don't want me in your restaurant I will leave, but the folks at Thailusion treat us so well we never want to leave.
That, of course, brings us to the food which is excellent. My personal favorite is one of their house specials, the Fireman's Curry also called the Jungle Curry. I have never had a curry quite like this, and I have eaten a lot of curry haha! A variety of perfectly cooked vegetables bathing in a delectable tub of green curry sauce paired with rich brown rice (white rice is available too, but the brown rice here is something special), and wait til you see how they serve the rice. My wife and I also enjoy many of their other dishes like fried rice and a wide variety of noodle plates. Its all good here!
I can't recommend this place enough. Five stars all around.
I was quite happy with the menu and food. The Thai bbq chicken was totally worth the price and I would come back again.
Tom Ka soup! This place never disappoints
Very good food and friendly staff. Nice outside dinning area. Very clean and follow all COVID restrictions
The absolute best food and service here. My fiance and I have been coming here for a few years, and it is always delicious with the staff being very friendly and accommodating. We always feel welcome like friends here, and i highly recommend visiting, and when you do I recommend you try the Fireman's Curry. Many thanks to the owners and staff for keeping us well fed and making every visit special!
Awesome food
Food is delicious:)
Very delicious food. True Thai... service is very good!
Had cashew chicken, soooo good!
La comida muy rica y el lugar limpio las trabajadoras exelente en la atencion
I was told by my therapist that this was a really good Thai restaurant and to my surprise in less than a week I've been there twice and it is absolutely great Restaurante
This place offers delicious food, but in small portions. We had extremely slow service even though the place was half empty. Every time we needed something we had to find our server. Each of our meals came out one at a time. This would have been okay if the portions were large enough to share. We all left there still hungry. We didn't want to order more food and end up being there for another hour.
It's really too bad, because as I said in the beginning the food really was good. This was about our 6th time here and yes the service has always been slow, but this was the worst.
Amazing food!! Great orange chicken!!
Great and tasty and fresh... always
Amazing Spicy Thai Fried Rice.
Great Thai food! I especially like the egg roll appetizer. The sweet and sour sauce was perfect mouth watering goodness. The decor was interesting... Friendly and fast service. It is unfortunate that the restaurant is hidden from the main street. More people should know about Thailusion because it is a wonderful experience.
Absolutely love this place
Delicious food and nice ambience. I would recommend. I had the yellow chicken curry. 😋 yum
Good food but slow service
Great food in a lovely atmosphere. One of the nicest patios around! The staff was excellent and very friendly. We’ll be back for sure!
I dont eat much Thai food, but I am a foodie in general and this was good eats. So if you've never had Thai. Before go check it out. If you are a Thai fanatic please let me know where you like to get your fav!!
Didn't care for this, it's out of business now!
Everything we had was amazing. Pad Thai and Jungle Curry received rave reviews from everyone at our table.
I love this place, firemans curry is amazing!
Service was fine, but the Pad Thai was sub-par:. Tough chicken and beef, no lemon grass nor lime and the sauce was too too sweet.
Awesome food, clean restaurant
Nice place, great food. Good range of options for vegetarians.
Outstanding food! The four of us tried a variety of things on the menu, the only "meh" was on the orange chicken. The curries were excellent as were the more traditional Thai dishes. The restaurant has also got very lovely decor, which was unexpected. The place is a bit hard to find though, you have to go all the way around the building. Highly recommended.
Yum! Traditional thai freshness! Tasty!
Yellow chicken curry with hot and sour soup! Perfection.
This place is great always. smells great when I walk in. they give you hearty portions. you can tell it's all fresh.
they're yellow curry is perfect. can't go wrong with thailusion .
just wish they delivered
Great tasting Pad Thai
Thailusion is a great place to eat Thai food. Every dish so far I've had has been excellent, but I have been stuck on ordering the Fireman's curry every time I come for lunch because it is so good! This is my favorite lunch spot in the area because the prices are reasonable, the service and atmosphere are nice, the food is delicious, and there are plenty of healthy options. If you're in the area Thailusion is a must-try, especially for lunch
Deeelish! Great curry & very nice service. Beautiful patio too. 😀
The lunch special is worth every penny
Been here twice, both times enjoyed something different and enjoyed my lunch specials and the patio, I added Thailusion to my regular lunch spots!
Always yummy
Delicious food. Great wine. Good service. Will definitely go back.
Great food, great attention and a nice place to bring your friends and family.
Good thai food
I love this restaurant! Food is delicious!!
First time customer. Brought my wife and daughter. My daughter has been here before and recommended this place. We were going to Hofs Hut but came here instead. We were the only paying customers there at the time. But it was the best choice. My wife had the Mongolian beef, my daughter had the chicken curry, and I had the fireman's curry with tofu and we all had mild #3 hot which was the perfect hotness that added flavor to our meals. Moo, our server was attentive and always making sure we have our drinks filled up all the time. Our meals were flavorful and delicious. We shared the sticky rice and mango after for dessert. We are definitely coming back again to try the other meals in their menu. We are even thinking of bringing our visiting friends from other states to eat here. We are very much sure we won't disappoint them. Highly recommendable!
Nice setting..
Good food and good service.
I wish I didn't love the food here so much... It's just too close to my house.
Good food and the the service is great
The food was terrible. Squid was like rubber bands. Sent back. The pork overcooked. Definitely understaffed. Won't be going back
Great food!
Very Thai food. Highly recommend Thaiusion Restaurant.
