We have emphasizes balance of ingredient flavor, texture and seasoning as well as modern riffs using local fresh quality ingredients and Thai sensibilities. Every dishes we cook, we always use authentic recipes in traditional Thai style to serve our value customer. We offer a seasonal menu that we update monthly. We offer a variety of both traditional Thai and unique specialty selections at affordable prices.
Service was amazing, restaurant was nice and updated and very clean but the food was lacking. I order the pad see ew and there was barely any sauce on the noodles. Ice never had noodles that were plain white before and no flavor. They're supposed to be a light brown color due to the soy sauce combination on it but these were not and we're bland and dry. Same story with my friends Pad Thai. The sticky rice with mango was good and so was the chicken and shrimp lumpia.
Let's talk Thai. We all have our favorites - pad thai, pad see ew, pineapple fried rice, curry, the list goes on. No matter what your favorite is, I can almost guarantee that you will not only find it here, but also absolutely love it. Koon Thai Kitchen is my personal go-to for my Thai food cravings when I'm in the San Diego area.
My personal favorites are their moo duo platter (which is an assortment of pork in a sweet savory sauce) and their pad see ew - both classic Thai dishes, but made extremely well here. The portions are quite sizable that I find myself always with leftovers (perfect for a second meal). Of note, my spice tolerance is practically non-existent. These dishes are in my wheelhouse, and I find them both enjoyable and flavorful. Now, if you are a spice lover, then fear not. They definitely don't skimp on the spice here, so your tongue will be in good hands.
All in all, if you love Thai food, then you should definitely check out Koon Thai Kitchen!
It's a Monday evening and pouring rain. We only have a few local hideouts that are perfect for just such occasions and Koon is now one of them. We haven't been in since Ken's charming sushi & thai spot moved out of state. We will always miss Ken but AJ & his wife have kept the warm ambiance and they make incredible food. Also, Tanya is darling and my new fashion icon.
We're trying to make healthy choices and we love comfort food. Most of the time it's one or the other, but we were able to get delicious, healthy comfort food here! The flavors were bright, the vegetables were crunchy and fresh.
We truly regret waiting so long to try Koon Thai Kitchen. Once the fun bar vibe returns this will be a 5* [Photo: Hot Tea, Fresh Spring Rolls, Ginger Duck Stir-Fry & Mango Shrimp Curry]
Great place, reasonable price, will come here again. It's a strip mall, it's not five star but you're not going to find much better.
Excellent food. I ordered yellow curry shrimp, and my husband ordered Ocean seafood. Both were very tasty. Good customer service. Good portions. Definitely will come back to this place. Reasonable price, too.
Food is always great! They took my favorite dish off the menu but they still made it when I asked for it! The portions are good for the cost of the dish.
Order tom yum and they gave me chicken soup

Try the yellow curry
The food and service were excellent!!
Authentic delicious thai food 10/10 👍
Food is always great! They took my favorite dish off the menu but they still made it when I asked for it! The portions are good for the cost of the dish.
got the crab fried rice which was delicious, yellow curry was very good too. thai tea was fairly average but good nonetheless, good service, a tiny bit pricey but it seems everywhere is
Excellent food. I ordered yellow curry shrimp, and my husband ordered Ocean seafood. Both were very tasty. Good customer service. Good portions. Definitely will come back to this place. Reasonable price, too.
My husband's been 5 times in 9 days. . . . what more can I say???
Little pricy for amount given compared to my awesome Mai Thai across street, who were closed ?
Fantastic food. The curry was delicious, in particular the duck one, and can serve two people if you order one or two sides.
Discovered this little gem on a Sunday after church. We've tried four of their dishes so far and all I can say... they're all delicious! The service is excellent, the food tasty and at very reasonable prices.
My go-to Thai Restaurant in Concord. Good food and drinks. Friendly staff
Best Thai I have had. The curries are phenomenal.
Great food! Thom Ka and red curry are the best!
Great food. Curries don’t come with rice so be sure to pay the extra couple dollars to get a side of rice if you order a curry. Staff isn’t the friendliest but the food makes up for that.
My God the food was excellent!!
Tasty !
Good variety and heat, if you want it.
One of THE best Thai places in the bay. Thiccc richhhh flavour. Soups and curries are thick (vs watery) and multi dimensional. Mouth watering lip smacking good. *dab* the staff is very friendly and their chef(s) -talented.
Great place. Had the salmon curry and Tom Kai soup.
I'd definitely go there again.
Its an authentic Thai food place. My togo when I want good thai food. They do catering orders which is really nice and easy
The food was good, price kind of average. Normal atmisphere and service.
The food is incredibly delicious! You just have to experience it for yourself! I highly recommend this awesome place!
Food is much too expensive for the portions given.
Warning: cheese fried wontons have no crab.
Great food and reasonable prices
The meat on 3 of the 4 dishes was very tough & chewy. The flavors were very good.
It is ok.
Nice waiter from Congo
Excellent and unique Thai food! The eggplant stir fry with chicken was delicious, but the Ocean Thai Seafood dish was out of this world. All the seafood (generous portions; mussels, scallops, squid, shrimp, fish, and a wonderful medley of vegetables that somehow all worked together) was cooked perfectly. Service was wonderful too. This place is my dad’s favorite lunch spot.
Soup was not warm & curry was watery. I have experienced thai food at various locations but this one was not up to standard.
The Food is delicious.Mango Shrimp Curry is a Must have , they can improve the Service but overall it's a delicious Thai Restaurant in Concord.
First time, Great Food I like it, need more than one server feel sorry for the guy serving all tables by himself, he was great and friendly 😀, will definitely comeback, great food selection!!!
I was pleasantly surprised with this new find I chose it cause it got a good rating and I didnt want to travel all the way to San francisco for a great thai place! I loved the pad thai and crispy cheese wonton worth getting 2 orders of the wontons!
The Pad Thai is amazing so is the crispy cheese wontons.. the Thai Iced Tea was soooo good!
Limited parking. Friendly service. Food was good, but a little to spicy for me. They have lunch specials.
The food was on spot a delicious and on spot. I feel like the customer service is a whole new thing it was perfect Thank you guys for your help.
Great food. Good sized serving! Fast service.
Great experience!
Amazing service and reasonable price.
The best Panang Curry ever!

🌿🌿🌺Delicious food , beautiful customer service . Highly recommend!! 👌
The duck was great!
Food was nothing to write home about.... but even to just get salt at the table that was badly needed in the dish I had ordered, after waiting very patiently for anyone's attention, no one even appeared in sight. I finally had to get up on an injured knee and limp to the counter to attract the young lady's attention, who then very promptly brought me a salt shaker. By this time my pineapple rice had gone completely cold and I had lost interest anyway.
Definitely got a decent amount for the price and everything was good. Great service and selection of dishes
This is the best Thai food I have had in America. I am not an expert in Thai food, but know alot about the southern Indian Dravidian food that Thai curry is based on, and their masala is Absolutely delicious, it's such a rich good deep creamy flavor. Their fully spicy curry is perfectly on the right side of the pleasurable yummy vs painful line for someone who eats spicy food regularly, and they skillfully increase the other seasonings to balance the heat. Their people are kind and professional and friendly and their Buddha statues are really beautiful and blessed. They are awesome and my favorite Thai restaurant stateaide ❤️🙏🏻☸️
Not the best tasting Thai but it's decent. For pick up the wait is a little long but they are busy.
Food was very good, short staffed so a little slow, but all in all food was very good and worth the little wait
We came here for an early dinner and to try something new. When we walked in there was only one other group finishing up. We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in, followed by menus and waters. We started off with the Island Finger Lumpias for our starter and then for the main course we ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and the Pumpkin Curry Chicken Soup. The lumpias were very delicious and tasted fresh and they came with a plum sauce dip that was good, but I found myself finishing them off without the sauce. Then my dish came out, the Pad Thai. This was steaming hot and looked very appetizing. I can attest that these claims were correct. The Pad Thai was indeed very flavorful and filling. The peanuts sprinkled throughout the dish helped to give some contrasting textures to help keep the dish interesting. Finally, my lady, who had the Pumpkin Curry Chicken Soup dish was loving every spoonful. It was full of cooked vegetables and squash along with the chicken. This dish was full of rich colors and aromas. The pumpkin broth was very good with just enough sweet to compliment the rest of the ingredients. The soup came out with great presentation, in a gold metal bowl, on a stand and then on the plate. The young lady who served us was very nice and made sure our water glasses were always full. Definitely give this place a try and help out a local business.
Great food and service. Tried this place and loved it. A nice variety of Thai food and several new items I've never had before.
I usually order their food through Uber Eats.
The best Thai food in Concord.
Love this place & the food is always delicious with excellent presentation 😋
Flavorful & always piping hot 🔥
Food was good. The first time I had almond chicken with breaded fried chicken, not bad.
Happily surprised as mom and i went for take-out and and came home with a new favorite thai place. Thai cuisine is comfort food for me and i was made very comfortable. I walked In to order and 15min later i wad back in my car with surprisingly excellent satay, yellow curry and pad thai. Food presentation was beautiful even I to-go containers. One can tell that they are still trying and as
far as mom and i are concerned they are succeeding at bringing delicious thai cuisine to hungry people at fair prices. I will be back time and again.
I have this food a few times now and it never fails to be made perfectly!!! Their food is exceptional on so many levels. Even though I have ordered it to go it still comes packed nicely and with care. It’s always fresh and delicious!! Don’t pass up the mango sticky rice 💖💖💖💖💖💖
The best! I absolutely loved the food and will eat here a lot more 😁
Food was amazing here. It's been hard to find Thai food with the right flavors and a good amount of spice, Koon Thai has both. Like many other people say get their curry noodles. Also order from their website, it is way better than using a 3rd party company.
Food was awesome. Service was awesome. Overall....awesome.
Chicken pad Thai was ok. Had to season it at home but large portion size.
Wow. This is some REALLY good Thai food. Try the Cashew Nut dish; fantastic!
I really like the green curry with seafood. Tons of scallops, large shrimp, fish and shellfish mixed in. It doesn't come with steamed rice so make sure to order the basil fried rice on the side. A delicious Thai iced tea to wash it down and your meal is complete. They were a little behind on their to-go orders, but I am always happy to wait for a delicious dinner.
Get the beef Nani Lemma! (Malaysian dish) We also tried the Red Thai curry which was good too and the peanut butter dumplings (Vietnamese)! Casual atmosphere. Looks family owned/run.
Beef Pad Thai and Thai Tea
I looked at their menu online. Prices are pretty typical at most restaurants in the area. $8-$11 for alot of the entrees. The Pad Thai ($10.95+$1 for beef) sounded like a good thing to try for my first time here. Add in a Thai Tea ($3.95) and I'm good to go. There was a discount coupon on the site so that saved me a couple bucks. I was able to get the whole order in online quick and easy. I got a text confirmation a minute later saying 20 minutes. I was nearby so it took me 5 to get there. My food was already done and being brought to the pickup area. That's great for me but I'm wondering if I had taken the 20 minutes like the text said, would my food just be sitting out that whole time?
Never the less, the food and drink were delicious, decent portion size too even for to-go, I will definitely be trying other things from this place soon.
My wife and I found this place a month ago. We came back a second time! My 2020 resolution is try every item on their menu! I have stated with their Curry selection. Flavorful! Spicy! The way it should be. Friendly service too. Make Koon Tai a part of your 2020!
Best Thai food I've had in a long time. They don't over do it with the fish sauce like some do and it's much better than Mai Thai 2 right across the street. Still using a little too much palm sugar for my taste but it's still good. Would actually like a little more heat but I'm sure they could accommodate as the probably adjusted their recipes for American taste buds. The Thai basil fried rice is the bomb!
Good local Thai food at reasonable prices. They have okay happy hour deals with really long hours. Portion size is fairly large. The food was good, but tastes a little on the healthy side (less salt/spice/flavor). That could be a plus for some people, but I like the extra strong flavors I've experienced at other Thai places. Still a good place & I'd be willing to try it again.
Great food, poor service. 2 times consecutively they’ve given me the wrong order. Will go elsewhere.
Food ok.
We were driving back home and really hungry. We were going to our usual spot in Clayton and decided to go here since it was closer. (We were that hangry) We walked in and there were 2 other families only. We waited for 6 minutes for the waiter to pay attention to us. We waited for another 15 to 20 minutes for her to take the order. The waitress was alone but it was only 3 tables. We were regretting coming in. However, once the food got there we were impressed, it was very delicious. We had the chicken yellow curry and the eggplant with basil and tofu with brown rice. We asked for mild, and it was exactly the mild we were looking for. I might mike this curry more than our favorite spot. The waitress was friendly just was taking too long to attend and we had to waive her down to refill our water. I will give it another shot being that I have not read a review about this kind of service so maybe it was just an off night.
Excellent food. Thank you
The food was delicious and the service was 5 star. I will be coming back!!
Amazing lunch specials! Get the red curry.. . Spicy but not too HOT! Very tasty!
Duck was fabulous. Plus the basil fried rice.
The employee very rude
Basically every single dish is delicious here, I kid you not! My favorites so far have been the pineapple rice and crispy duck.
Curry way too sweet
Very flavorful. Loved the basil pork stir fry. Mango with sticky rice was heavenly.
Good food, with large menu. Large portions and not too pricey.
Excellent service and food.
EXCELLENT food, large portions, reasonably priced, great variety, nice folks. A winner !! We shall return.
We had lunch specials. We had enough to bring home for another meal.
I ordered the duck curry, and a Thai ice tea, they were very delicious, the service was splendid, and the ambiance was inviting. The overall experience is good and the menu has many dishes that I want to return to try. The server is very attentive and I did not wait long for my food even though the place was full of customers.
Awesome Thai food! Super slow inside on Monday night.
This is the best thai food I have ever had in California. It was so fresh, so clean, great portions, perfectly seasoned. I have never left a review on a company but I was so impressed with this place I felt I had to. I had the pumpkin salmon curry and my partner had the pad thai and they were so freaking good. I don't normally like pad thai, its often sweetened too much for me but this time it was perfect. We even came back tonight (the next night) to try something else!
Delicious. Yummy. Just lovely.
Great menu, really 4.5 ⭐
AJ and his wife have the best Thai anywhere. Super fair price, excellent food. $2.50 for Shingha beer before 6pm
Nice and friendly owner and staff. Food was delicious with a good selection. Choose your spice level. Reasonable prices. Will definitely go back.
Very nice 👍 very good service 👍 very good food 👍
The food is absolutely delicious and I’ll be back again for sure. I miss the sushi but I have no complaints against the fresh tasting Thai. The service has been great too and the prices are around $6-$17ish but it’s a full meal that doesn’t leave you hungry.
Friendly folks
Best Thai in Concord. All curries are excellent.
