I really do not recommend this place. I ordered the beef satay platter and they didn't have it. I ordered the beef panang curry and they didn't have it. And what I ordered was terrible. Tom ka kha i soup tasted like water and lemon..had to send it back. Ordered the bbq ribs...those were cold and the rice it came with was dry. I ordered a side of peanut sauce and even that was watery! When I finished dinner, I was so upset with the service and the food that I decided not to leave a tip. The server was annoyed and he started shaking his head angrily. I will not return to this place again. That's 48 dollars to the trash. What an absolute waste. I'm taking the time to write this review so others don't have to go through what we did.
This place is still the best for Thai bbq chicken after all these years. Came here for lunch and love their new decor, service was quick with great value for their lunch specials. Their honey sauce perfectly compliments the chicken thighs and their pad Thai is also excellent.
Highly recommended for lunch or dinner
Came here while I was in town for work. I ordered off the menu and they were nice enough to accommodate. Service was nice.
I ordered drunken noodles with shrimp. The noodles were well cooked but I was hoping for a bit more flavor. They did have a lot of table spices which I added but it wasn't really spicy which I would expect from drunk noodles or pad ki mao. The shrimp were well cooked and tender.
The seating area was fine. Parking lot was huge.

The food was good and the service was great.
The bbq ribs were ok but the combination soup was nasty, no flavor at all🤮
Love this place and the family that owns it over 30 years thank you!
我点的BBQ糊了不说,吃完回家我拉肚子了,泰国菜是我来美国后最差的一家。
3.5% charge on credit cards, regardless of bill minimum.
I’d only get this Thai food if no other Thai food option was available. Food was mediocre, kinda “Americanized”, with no “spicy” levels commonly associated with Thai restaurants.
Best Thai food in all Chino hills 😋.
I ordered S-2. BBQ ribs with SHRIMP fried rice. Not one single shrimp. And please update your menu prices on line.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Original Thai BBQ restaurant, in Chino Hills and it was an experience that left a lasting impression on my taste buds. The newly remodeled and inviting atmosphere immediately set the stage for what turned out to be a delightful Thai BBQ journey.
Starting with the BBQ Beef skewers were so delectable, the Sweet Angel - deep fried stuffed chicken wings were a perfect crispy and flavorful delight, providing the perfect balance of textures. The Tom Yum seafood soup was a highlight, boasting a seafood blend of spices that warmed both the heart and soul. It's my favorite soup.
For the main course, I opted for the Thai BBQ chicken, a classic Thai dish that exceeded expectations. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and the combination of sweet, sour, and savory flavors created a dance on my palate. The combination Chow Mein with the works was another standout, rich in flavor and a must.
What truly set this restaurant apart was the authenticity of the dishes. It felt like a genuine taste of Thailand, with each bite transporting me to the streets of Bangkok. The attention to detail and the use of fresh, quality ingredients were evident in every dish.
The Thai beer selection was a plus and a nice touch and they also serve wine.
The service was prompt and courteous, adding to the overall positive impression. The staff's knowledge of the menu and willingness to offer recommendations enhanced the dining experience.
In conclusion, this Thai restaurant not only satisfied my culinary cravings but also transported me to the heart of Thailand through its authentic flavors. Whether you're a Thai cuisine enthusiast or a newcomer, this establishment is a must-visit for a truly memorable dining experience.
Thanks the Original Thai BBQ Chino Hills for a delicious meal!
Sometimes chicken it’s a burnt but it’s always a nice experience and yummy place one of the best.
👌
The poeple and service was great (no complaint there)...however.....Let me start off by saying that the Pad see ew had a weird taste. There was no flavoring whatsoever. Almost like eating cardboard. Also ordered the chicken fried rice, it had no flavor. Very Bland taste. Lastly, for drinks I had ordered the Thai Tea. The Thai tea was awful. It had a taste of tap water with milk. I would not recommend this place. It was my first time and it did not live up to its current rating. Again the service and people were very polite and attentative but the food was not made with any effort at all. Perhaps a new cook can change all that but definitely wouldn't come here again, unfortunately.
Hands down "The Best Thai Food" in Chino Hills! If you are looking for authentic original Thai this is the spot, you won't be disappointed! Love the beef & chicken satay, fried rice and all the shrimp dishes. Staff is super friendly and attentive. Gotta try it!
Ordered take out. Not impressed with the food quality. I ordered pad see ew (mushy noodles, not much flavor), coconut soup (flavorful) and egg rolls (dry, not much flavor). Especially for the price. And it was $14 for 3 egg rolls?? I was expecting the food to be delicious. But it wasn't. IMO
Got take out last night from this place. The manager was friendly and courteous. Even though we did not done in but the inside of the restaurant looks clean and the atmosphere was nice. However, the food only tasted OK, maybe we ordered the wrong things.
We ordered the following: BBQ Chicken Special, Pad See Ew w/Beef, Garlic Pork.
The BBQ Chicken Specia lcame with 1/2 chicken, shrimp fried rice (2 pc. shrimps) and a dipping sauce for the chicken. The chicken tasted really really dry, even the drumstick part was dried. The shrimp fried rice only had 2 pc. of shrimps. And probably because we asked for no onion inside the fried rice, there are no veggies in the fried rice but maybe ketchup?
The Pad See Ew was a bit mushing. The beef and broccoli inside was OK.
The Garlic Pork has green beans inside and tasted pretty good. The only negative thing I can say about this dish is that it's a bit oily for me. There's a layer of red color oil. I would order this dish again but will ask for less oily if possible.
Overall, tried the restaurant, not very impressed but will consider dining in next time and will try other entrees.
Food is great and service as well.. but a little bit Sweet especially sauces, pls lessen the sweetness 🙂will be most appreciated
Service is bad and rude, food is so so.
Tastes just like the original in LA but with easier parking. Beef sate is always delicious.
Food always excellent there.
The place was fine the server was not it hes very rude and at the end demanded tip I always give cash tip but the way he got mad because I did not do with my card made me very uncomfortable and that is not the way to ask for a tip either way
One of the best restaurants in Chino Hills without a doubt. I’ve been going there since I was single digits in age and am 23 now. Tony always takes great care of me and makes me feel like family. God bless Thai BBQ!
Amazing food, portion, great price and customer service. Keep up the good work.
I love eating here! The food is always great and comes out super quick. The staff are incredibly sweet and always friendly! Their Thai tea is amazing as well as the pad see ewe! Highly recommend!
It's been over 12 yrs since we last visited this location. The Thai BBQ chicken and sauce taste exactly the same. The beef satay with peanut sauce was charred to a crispy, well seasoned texture. The space was updated (no aquarium), and seating adequately spaced. When we come back to LA, it will definitely command another visit.
terrible
Awesome place to go with your family and love one.
We always try to stop by when we are in town. Excellent food and service.
Service was excellent but the food is not what it use to be.
This place was good. By far this is the best Thai food in Chino
Very clean and the food delicious!
Our 1# Thai food since the 90's. BEST Thai BBQ Chicken. 🙌
Would I come back here. No. The place gets 3 to 4 stars but at the end the food we tasted gets one star, meaning the flavor was not up to par. The seafood soup is missing flavor and the pineapple fried rice had no pineapple flavor and there are no nuts in the dish, that is the way they do it here. Maybe Thai flavor but not the one I am looking for.
Thai bbq spare ribs were really good. Can't go wrong w/ lunch specials either.
My favorite Thai restaurant!!!
You dont get portions what you pay for. the bbq ribs was undercooked. After eating it made me sick.
I'll start with I've never had Thai food so this was a first experience for me but I do enjoy food and trying new places. Our waiter Tony after finding out this was our first trip suggested the Thai tea and is was so sweet even my daughter enjoyed it. We got a plate of spring rolls as an appitizer and matched with the chilli sauce they came with was the first of many impressive dishes to come to our table! My husband got the beef skewers, I got a seafood chow main dish and our daughter got scampi Thai (don't remember the exact names of the dishes) we could not keep our hand to our own dishes! We were all taking a little of eachother dish to share the yummy goodness! The beef skewers were delicious on their own accord but had a peanut sauce that was like liquid peanut butter 🤤 my chow main had every critter in the sea and I could tell it was prepped with so much care with how the squid was decoratively sliced 🤩 and the shrimp on my daughter's plate were so juicy! We've definitely added this place to our dinner date list. Thanks for reading my whole "TedTalk" about food 😅
P.s. I would have take. More photos but my phone died taking this one 🙈
I really hate having to write a bad review for any restaurant, I usually review places I like. This restaurant has numerous good reviews and I don't know why. I live in Asia, I'm in the area visiting family.
Lunch on a Sunday, we order a beef salad and a pad Thai. Wow, not good. The beef is tough low quality and the lettuce is thick iceberg with no flavor, sauce that is almost like Thai food but watered down. The shrimp pad Thai is so sweet we cannot taste the nuts or eggs. Even the way they served it was ridiculous because they covered the sprouts with the noodles and then soaked everything in syrup.
We're eating away trying to ignore the bad food (it was edible and was worthy of maybe 2 or 3 stars). Then my wife notices something wrong with the shrimp and spits it out. I think she's overreacting and I eat a shrimp, bit mistake. It tastes like I'm gnawing on a moldy wood deck. I spit it out and get nauseous, run to the toilet at puke. When I come out a manager is at the table and asks if everything is ok. I tell him no, the shrimp has gone bad. He says, well, it looks like you've eaten quite a bit of it! I had to tell him, the shrimp is spoiled, I just spent 30 minutes in the toilet throwing up and cleaning up and you're accusing me of subterfuge?! It was so strange! He offered no apology of any kind. I got overly upset and told them I was leaving and I wasn't paying, he just shrugged.
I got the distinct impression that this sort of thing happens there at least once a week. If you go there, it looks like the best dish is Thai BBQ chicken and do not order the shrimp! And good luck.
Great food and employees are always friendly.
The person taking orders was very rude, because I can't find the restaurant and I was late to pick up the order of food I ordered ..when I arrived to pick up the food he didn't talk...quiet didn't respond after I said Thank You.
I didn't like it! Not for me, but you might like it? The service is good and they have Singha!
Sooo yummy. Everything is good. Never a bad meal.
Awesome Thai food had a great dining experience. Chad our server was on top of his game!!! Made our experience a Pleasant one. Highly recommend and will definitely be back💯
Great food.

Highly recommended for lunch or dinner
Really good Thai BBQ!!!
Very good food there. Highly recommended. Sate beef dinner is my favorite with there cucumber salad.
The community ratings of this Thai Restaurant make it a recommended eatery. It is rare to find a good Thai restaurant away from Thai Town on Hollywood Blvd in Los Angeles or some of the Thai Restaurants in the Rowland Heights community. So this Thai BBQ restaurant in the Chino Valley community is a good choice to avoid those long commutes.
I have been going here for years and the food is always great. All my friends and family that I have taken here love the food and are big fans now too.
Always great food at a reasonable price
Good but small quantity of food to go with
We were weekly regulars for a very long time until we moved closer to San Diego. Last week, we went to visit a friends in Chino Hills and came across the restaurant again. Luckily they were open so we went in and met Chad, the owner. It was nice to see him again. Also nice to know that their menu did nor change and the taste still the same. Today we went back and my wife ordered Tai Yang Chicken Bbq and Shrimp Salad. Mine was Beef Satay House Special. Since everything was to-go, we did not check what was in the bag and took it home. When we ready to eat lunch, my wife opened the bag and we each opened oue meals. Sad to say, we are very disappointed. Our food are both charcoaled burned, the chicken wing was not recognizable, it was black! The satay were also burned and overcooked. The chocken breast was too dry and tough. The salad dressing was runny. We are very disappointed, very, very disappointed. I think we will start going to West Covina again, it will be worth it to pay for the same menu but better appetizing food.
Best tai BBQ ever.....and the owner is awesome!!
Excellent food and service always!!
BBQ Skewers and the S1 are always on point. Very nice remodel as well, and the service is great also.
Wow! Exceptional customer service. Very kind and clean establishment and whoever took our order today (4/15/2020 @ 6:20pm), incredibly kind and courteous! Recommend to anyone and everyone! Thank you Thai BBQ!!!
I've only come here twice but both times I've been pleasantly surprised. The man that helped me both times has been very accommodating and generous, even giving me a free Thai tea while I waited for my to go order. I've always loved Thai spots for the food but this is the first one I love for the hospitality! I'd give more than five stars if I could :c
Great Food 🤗
Love this place!!!
Amazing service! Food is delicious 😋
Absolute favorite and must have every time I visit California!
Really good food and the service is out of this world. Best service at a restaurant in a long time.
I had the Scampi a La Thai BBQ and my husband had the Dearest Crab both were excellent
Very good food. Lunch special was generous. Very friendly and quick service. Will go back for sure.
Based on their high review so we visited them this week... Our conclusion after the meal is... They probably changed the chef or owner.
Delicious food, quick & friendly service, not too packed, reasonable prices.
Great food and EXCELLENT service! I love the modern updates they have recently made.
Worth the dough.😃
The best coconut seafood soup.....!!!Yummy...!!!
Thai BBQ is thee bes, the food is always on point! Its family owned and they are truly the nicest people. Thanks Thai BBQ for so many years of great food & friendly service.
Newly renovated, same great food!!!❤
My first time going to a thai food restaurant and the people were so nice and the food was absolutely amazing highly recommended three dishes totalled to about $50 including drink.
Good food. Have only tried 2 things and they are really good. Can't risk trying new things because of a fear of missing out on the beef sate. A little pricey but it's worth it
Unfortunately the food here is not that great. It's not bad, but it's not good... Like it tastes off. Also it came out really really fast. Like less than 5 minutes... Years of watching kitchen nightmares tells me that's not a good sign. Maybe it's not fresh or maybe it's not quality ingredients or maybe it's not prepared right. Ordered the thai chicken bbq and pad see ewe. The bbq chicken was good albeit dry. The shrimp fried rice on the other hand was not even fried rice and it contained no veggies or egg. It was just rice with about 4 shrimp. The pad see ewe taste was definitely not fresh as if it were frozen because it stuck together and clumped instead of being individual noodles. No chewiness or char to the noodles which is standard for this dish and the sauce while ok left a mild artificial aftertaste. Even the water that was brought out tasted like it needs a filter lol. Overall the food left a feeling of fullness but unsatisfying state. The place is nice and clean and the service is good and prompt. But idk. I wouldn't return again.
Always delicious
Alright Thai food made for Westerners. Difficult to find authentic Thai food in the US even when the staff are Thai.
Love the beer, Love the food!!
Excellent service, good food.
Great food and friendly service
Excellent service and fantastic food, every now and then the rice gets to the table a little cold but I can deal with that considering everything else is on point.
Awesome staff, very friendly ! Always go to the one in Cerritos, but this location just beat them. This will be my go to now when I want Thai bbq !
I've been going here for years and the food is delicious.
Loved the beef satay #S8. Restaurante is small.
Thai BBQ in Chino Hills is seriously amazing. Their service and their food are always great. Very affordable and never too crowded.
Love the food. My faves are S8, beef panang, tom yum seafood soup, and spring rolls.
Good is delicious every single time! Favorite Thai spot in Chino Hills!
Beef sate is excellent and garlic beef is exceptional, owner really nice guy who will go out of his way to accommodate you.
Good lunch special was satay beef with rice and veggis
I don't remember what we ate here last time we went.... must be so-so
Best in the west for Thai Food!
Wonderful food! Great service.
We have been coming here for years. The food is amazing, staff friendly and decor is pretty.
Food was overcooked, over priced, and just didn't taste good. Not on par with other Thai restaurants. The service was very friendly though!
Who doesn't love Thai food? Must be crazy if you don't. When I'm craving for some Thai bbq, this is the place 4 me. The place itself can use a little facelift, but the food is ALWAYS good and the staffs are great! Can't go wrong here 😉
It the best
Good food. Pleasant staff.
Good food !
