My favorite restaurant of all time. Hands down, their S1 I can eat every single day of my life without getting sick of it. They mastered Thai BBQ chicken with the juicy meat falling right off the bone. The sweet Thai sauce is so flavorful and delicious. The fried rice has so much flavor you can just eat it by itself.

The wait time for it was expected but kinda tedious when it comes to the restaurant itself so beggers can't be chooser. The food was good, some not so great and that food that wasn't great in my own opinion was the som yum soup. I've tasted a variation of said dish for a while and this one wasn't up to par, as well when it comes to its fancy bowl where even the spoon given is a tad too big to even scoop out the soup. Regardless, food was good.

Service was bad. The waitress put the food on the table and did come back. I had to hunt her down and it wasn't easy. Finally she brought our check and we couldn't wait to get the hell outta there.

I went to this location for over 10 years since they opened I came back 2024 from Texas and their food has changed big time all their food is not the same taste. I don’t know if it’s cause it’s a different cook or a new management but really was disappointed

We have gone to this restaurant for over 30 years and it has always been great, but today everything changed for us. It seems that their quality went down a lot. The chicken sauce was watered down, the plain fried rice was dry and had no taste and the phad thai was over cooked and a bit soggy. Sorry Thai BBQ you lost a loyal customer since you lowered your food quality.

Good satay, fried chikin needs work

I usually order for pickup, bc they're always so busy to dine in. I only order the beef satay.... it is by far the best in all of so cal. The peanut sauce is my boyfriend's absolute favorite....

I was craving for Thai food, and heard that this restaurant is famous for their BBQ. It is located in a big plaza, and there were plenty of parking. Decoration was decent, but not fancy. Service was fast.

We ordered the chicken satay, BBQ ribs, and pad see ew. The meat was very tender. The chicken satay came with a peanut dipping sauce, and it was very flavorful. The ribs came with an orange colored sweet sauce, which was a good combination with the ribs. Also, the meat of the ribs were falling off the bone.

I took 1 star away because of the pad see ew. It is probably not their popular dish. I was disappointed, but it was not a deal breaker. I am a fan of pad see ew, and it was tasteless.

Food and service is always great. Can't beat their M-F lunch specials until 2pm. You'll enjoy any choice.

To go portion was only 4 bites. Can’t believe they charged full price.

The staff probably would have preferred we didn’t come in. They simply ignored us for the most part then gave us cold food.

One of the only Thai restaurant in the area that serves Mee Krob. If you like crispy, sweet and savory noodles, try the Mee Krob.

Good service. The food comes out pretty fast. Tough corner location. Seating is a little tight and the servers walk though with hot dishes, you gotta watch out.

The restaurant itself is a bit small. And they tend to be busy on weekends, evenings. But the wait, if any, is so worth it. I’ve been going to this establishment for over ten years, specially whenever I visit my hometown. And their BBQ, after trying many other BBQ elsewhere, remains unbeatable. Get an S8 (Beef Satay) and you will not regret it. The sauce that goes with it is to die for. Highly recommend this place for their BBQ alone.

I ordered two chicken patties but they got me two beef on the steak instead for to go. so I had to go back get my right order and they are not apologetic about their mistake not to mention not giving the change to me when I paid for my dinner price and I only picked up two a la carts. Are too busy to listen to me what’s wrong with these people?

Authentic Thai food. Tastes good. Chicken bbq is tender and not dry. The dining area is small & and it feels crowded. Service is not so much friendly & welcoming.

Solid Thai food that delivers consistent quality and flavor. S1, S8, S2, Pad thai, pad see ewe, and tom yum are the go to dishes. Wash it down with a Thai iced tea

This restaurant has been here for more than 25 years, because that's how long I've been going here! However, in recent years, the quality of food has declined. I used to love getting the BBQ chicken, but it just doesn't taste the same. It's dry, they don't give you as much of the chicken, and the rice just tastes different. The service is okay but it's not as good as it used to be.
The spring rolls aren't like the Vietnamese spring rolls... They're fried and weren't that good.

Their monster salad is SERIOUSLY delicious!!!!

This time the shrimps were not that freshly cook or not new. Kind of smashy when you eat it. SORRY 😞

Great food! Menu is easy to understand. Their coconut soup is off the charts!! Sounded a little suspect when my wife ordered it, however, it did not disappoint.

Do not waste your time here; very poor customer service. I ordered 3 s2’s (the rib plates) and did not receive 1. And I paid for all of them. I received chicken and rice instead. Did not receive my money back as well. I will never return….these are thugs and thieves.

My family and hubby’s fam have been going here since we were in high school. My hubby went to school with the owner’s son…that’s how long we’ve supported this place. I have to say, that all changed during my last order.

The STAFF are just rude!!! When you pick up your order, they look so annoyed and when you ask for hot sauce and utensils, they throw the items instead of handing it.

The FOOD. I understand times have changed and quantity of meat is scarce. I get that restaurants need to increase their prices BUT, you don’t need to portion the meat and keep prices high…it’s either or. It was the most ridiculous size I’ve seen for both S8 and the BBQ chicken. We ordered two S8 was total was $30+ and the chicken. The chicken could serve my 4yo alone.

Again, either serve the same size meat and increase the price or serve bite size and keep your price low.

Every time I’m in the area I go to this restaurant. Thai is my favor food and the never disappoint. 😊

Amazing food..best Thai restaurant like always..The Original Thai is the place to go..food was exceptional. Large potion for the price and great service ..they came by to check on how we were doing and cleaning tables promptly..I give this place a A+..plus they got a Solid A rating from the health dept..so a big bonuses ..it was busy for the dinner

The food here is amazing and I will say, I'm pretty picky with Thai food. Their pad see ew is one of the best ones I've had in a long time and I'm definitely a fan of their pad Thai. Their sour soup was very tasty and they cooked their chicken angel wing so well. Coming from out of state, it was nice to find this small Thai place and just have an enjoyable dining experience. Server was pretty attentive too =)

Place is small but the food is delicious I mean I never ate Thai BBQ but this place is delicious not a lot of beer selections for Mexican but the Heinekens kick in

Its the end of Spring Break week and we decided to give this place a try after a few yrs. We got our usual dishes and they were all good except one, the shrimp fried rice had a very different odd taste and the texture looked and felt different...
Because it looked clumpy and a bit sticky we were led to believe that instead of frying the rice they just used the sticky white rice to make it and that's why it tasted different.

I work in the area and, since I love Thai food, decided to try this place for the first time. I arrived at 2:36pm and was the only customer waiting outside. Finally someone came to the booth and asked if I had pre-ordered. I said no and asked if the lunch specials were still available for order. I was quickly told "no" and that the kitchen stops making specials at 2:30pm. I turned around and left. Evidently, 6 minutes is a deal breaker.
Despite having many food competitors around them and a pandemic that has closed down many businesses, Thai Original BBQ doesn't need any new customers. It's a shame.

Love eating there. The only thing was my rice was a little cold... And only one shrimp in the rice...

For many years Ive been coming here for a quick bite to eat. Sometimes my wife and I we scape the office and come here to eat..

The food here is always delicious, and from the time you sit down and place your order, they're super fast to bring your the food to your table.

This place is clean and staff have always been very attentive and friendly.

I am a regular costumer. So I tend to used this place regularly to meet up some clients. I believe in supporting our local business.

But due to the pandemic I stayed away for about a year. Just recently I started to come back to visit this location again.

Unfortunately there's new staff and my personal experience have change completely . The staff at the door seems rude and short fuse... and I like to think maybe because they were busy and under pressure they acted rude. Who knows? but I was a bit disappointed how I was treated in front of my client. Specially because I've spoke so highly about this place.

I went to this place on Saturday super excited to have found the restaurant after their Fullerton location closed. As we were leaving I see maggots on their carpet by the booth. The food and experience itself was really good up until my family and I had started to leave and my the kitchen area we saw a maggot , at first we thought it was a grain of rice until it had started to move. It completely ruined our experience and instantly made us sick to our stomachs that we see that right after having a nice meal. We can’t even think about the food without having an image come up in our minds of us potentially having maggots in our meals. We looked at the outside of the restaurant and saw they had an A on their service and really questioned if it was correct after and if they should really keep it after the whole fiasco

Their chicken satay is good. The peanut sauce was very smooth, different than other places that have chunky bits inside, but it was still really good. They also seasoned the chicken a bit different than other places, but it still tasted good even without the peanut sauce.

I absolutely love their chicken pad see ew! This is honesty my favorite Thai dish and this place makes it the best (IMO - for now)

The pineapple fried rice!! I love adding a bit of the sweet sauce that comes with the angel wings to add a bit of sweetness to the rice for added delight.

They make really good angel wings too, their sweet sauce is so delicious!!

I've had their combination soup and I like that they bring it out to you with a mini flame to keep it nice and hot.

I really like their Thai iced tea too, even though I didn't get one this time around.

The wait was not too bad, but their was a huge surge of families come in after we placed our name in the wait list. But the service was fast and our food arrived in a timely manner.

The food servers need to be trained to be patient with diners who are not familiar with the menu.

It's such a treat to finally review Thai Original BBQ. I've been coming to eat here for over a decade, and everything I've ever ordered has been consistently good. My favorite is the Kai Yang BBQ Chicken, with the BBQ Spare Rib a close second. My mom really likes the Dearest Crab. All house specials come with shrimp fried rice, which I actually think is the best fried rice here, with pineapple fried rice second and combination fried following after that. Their larb and chicken satay are great starters or meals on their own, and I love their tom yum gai. Can't say enough great things about the food here. Atmosphere is intimate and casual, and service is solid.

While the food tasted ok, the service and cleanliness was questionable.
We ordered three lunch specials, which are smaller, personal plates, not typically shared.
I got my food first, with rice along with another plate of steamed rice for husband's dish.
Just the rice. By itself. On a plate. Thinking the other food will come soon I waited so we could all eat together, something that most people going out to eat enjoy to do. But no, it took another 5 minutes for my husband's dish to come out along with my daughters food. This is not rocket science people, bring the food out together.
Once served the waitress never returned to ask if everything was satisfactory or if we needed anything.
As we were eating we noticed that the servers also attended to cleaning tables with rags and taking payments; all while wearing the same gloves, defeating the whole purpose of wearing gloves.
Overall not impressed.

Went once to dine in the service wasn't that pleasant.. Ever since only ordered to go but seems the prices have gone up and on the rice they only give you like 2 shrimp.. I order 3 S8 on a Sunday I do say it was Easter Sunday but anyhow they took 2 hours to complete my order and it seemed as they didn't even want my service due to super busy.. picked up my food 2 and a half hour later..

Been coming here for over 10 years. Super good!! My faves are L1 and L2, I also love the papaya salad and the cucumber salad.

My second time and will go again, it's just the flavor of my spicy pad thai that calls me back. Enjoyable and very tasty Thailand plate served at your order, and don't forget the sea soup, very hot and spicy to get rid of that hanger 😋😋😋😋😋
