Unpretentious spot for Thai curries, noodles & rice dishes in a low-key, strip-mall setting.
The location is a 10/10, the place is clean and remodeled in a very chic way. It is clean and inviting. The customer service is always a 10/10 very attentive and provides honest recommendations. I ordered the kanpakao chicken And I cannot express to you how delicious it was. My partner also order noodles with beef and the beef itself was so tender, perfectly cooked and delicious something that you donโt really find and in manyThai restaurants where they give you really harsh meat. The overall quality of the food is evident in the food presentation itself. I highly recommend this place. Delicious ๐คค
Very tasty and generous potions. We were searching for halal food nearby and stumbled upon this restaurant. They were really accommodating and the food came pretty fast . All of the dishes we ordered ( Crispy Shrimp, tom yum soup, chowmein, rice, green curry) tasted excellent. Especially the soup was perfect. Will surely be back when we visit LA again.
Itโs Dec 30th 2024, and we visited this place for a late lunch. We had heard so much about this place, we had to check it out. The food was 10/10 on every account.
We tried Mongolian beef, orange chicken, chili fish, Satey chicken, Tom yon soup along with rice. The portion size was very generous. The owner was amazing and personally catered to our needs.
The restaurant was super clean and recently renovated. Compliments to the chef for cooking such amazing food. All in all , a 10/10 experience.
I stopped going to Lemongrass because of the ownership change. The quality and the food went downhill. After 2 years of not having my favorite Thai place, the original owner is back. When I was driving home, I saw the sign in front of the restaurant that said "Original owner is back". I was so excited and went back with my family the very next day! The food was as delicious as it used to be and I saw a few changes like having fewer menus, but new remodeled restaurant. The larb and pad Thai were my favorite dishes from them, I am happy that they tasted the same! I can't wait to go back again!
Drunken noodles/spicy noodles: 11/10
Perfect flavor, fresh veggies, piping hot and just hits the spot.
Chicken egg rolls: 11/10
Came hot and crispy, good amount of filling, and perfect flavor.
Thai ice tea 10/10
Overall authentic flavor. Nice atmosphere, clean, service was great, they have a prayer room as well.
I was so full but kept wanting to eat more!
They did not have Satay chicken available during lunch time, ordered orange chicken and it was very tasteless , hard and chewy without any taste and Pad Thai which I ordered with chicken but when I opened the box I find beef !!! I still tried to eat it but it was just very rubbery and again tasteless with very strong odor of egg. Complete waste of time and money. I doubt if its even halal anymore
Great food and amazing service. The restaurant recently came under new management and I love the renovations they have done. Everything was clean and service was quick and the food is reasonably priced. Would highly recommend the Tom Kha and Pad Thai. The Thai Tea is also amazing and they are giving out complementary Thai Tea for their soft opening. Will definitely be coming back!
Absolutely love everything about this place! All the food is halal as well. My favorites are the beef & broccoli, Orange chicken and combination chow mein noodles and Thai fried rice. As a Muslim, I appreciate that they have a space for me to offer prayer when it's time

I ate lunch there today excellent food, clean and fast. I know the owners so I am glad they are doing a great job!

The food was great and was super flavorful! The restaurant is clean and had good service. This business is family owned and is now under original management.
The food is now incredible. I think they got a new owner now. The food was really really good. Highly recommmend
The Thai food is excellent, the flavor is very good, the service is spectacular, the atmosphere is very good, with the new owner it has improved 100%
good food
Newly renovated restaurant. The food was delicious. The owner and personnel serving were very friendly. Will be back for more halal thai food :-)

Save your time and money, this place Is no good! Everything is Bland and tasteless! You will leave disappointed! Staff is rude and careless!

I was so full but kept wanting to eat more!
Horrible service at 7pm.
Nothing Available. The place looked super dirty. Owner was leaving at 7pm asked for Wonton soup.
They were skeptical about everything on Menu.
Wonton soup came after 20 minutes with broken/smashed Wonton. Soup smell so bad like it was not cooked properly. We asked for regular coke. Served coke zero?.
The owner was extremely not ready to serve and when I asked for Manager to discuss quality of soup no one came by. The person who took our order said I m sorry for this I don't even work here. Just helping them.
I m sorry this level of service and bad quality food is not good for
business.
Never returning to this messy restaurant where no body cares.
Their service is worse than the worst. There is no order foods are served. Fried rice is served first and soup and appetizers later. AC does not work properly, extremely uncomfortable to dine in. We still used to come here because some of their foods are good. But we will never come again cause itโs just not worth it.
Looks like permanently closed.
I believe with an owner change quality of food went from 10 to 0!!! We ordered a few dishes and it was all nasty tasting and looking. Pad That didn't even tasted like a Pad Thai sauce that they use is disgusting, had to throw it away. Unfortunately, we won't be going back.
No customer inside we just only but service is take too long time we arrived 7:25 pm they served 9:00 pm waiting time 1 and half hours
chow mein oil less and tasteless๐คฎ๐คฎ๐คฎ
Tom Kha tasteless and too much sour๐คฎ๐คฎ๐คฎ
beef pho also tasteless๐คฎ๐คฎ๐คฎ
papaya Salad๐คฎ
orange Chicken ๐คฎ๐คฎ
Sate Chicken ๐คฎ
we doont go never agian and forget for whole life
This is the nastiest most disgusting place. Absolutely filthy. The orange chicken is not even eatable. Donโt waste your time coming here.
Just a scam stay away ! Filthy
Please save your time and donโt come.
Deceptive menu charged me for 2 separate meals to have an appetizer and a protein. (Noodles and orange chicken) felt sick spending 30 dollars on that
Iโm posting this for consideration of others.
Save your time. This place is very unprofessional and very unpredictable? Lol I say unpredictable because the family and I drove a hour from Torrance to come try their food. When entering we see people dining in, the server comes running from the kitchen saying that they got a catering order and they are not taking in any more dine in.
This is very unprofessional and since when does Yelp allow such establishments on their app, the lack of courtesy and organization reflects poorly of this restaurant.
Very thankful for not having to try this. Thanks
The guy at the front was really nice and it was a cute place overall. But if you're looking for authentic Thai food.... Hard pass. The Tom kha was sweet and I'm pretty sure it was coconut powder and not milk in there. There were no aromatics in sight and not a lime to be had on request. For two adults, we ended up spending $50+ on three items. Which, for LA standards seems normal but this didn't feel worth it. I could go on, but the bottom line is if you're looking for indo-thai cuisine (minus the spice), you're in the right place. If not, better luck next time.
Oh, cherry on top? Hair in the pad thai. Yum.
Website accepted my order and took the money. When I arrived to pick up the food. Closed.
I loved it that the thai food is available in halal and i am satisfied with the food and quntaty liked it
Every time I Order online I get the best quantity and the taste was not changed I recently know the old owner is the chef in the restaurant and she is LIT๐ฅ๐ฅ
They changed owners and itโs now AWFUL. They serve dried out, days old rice. The spicy noodles donโt have basil and arenโt spicy. The overall food quality and taste has declined a lot. Iโve been coming here since 2016, and after the 3rd bad order. Iโm officially calling it done.
Portions are not as expected for the price!!!
The food is delicious. I think it is one of the best Halal Thai restaurants you can find in LA
Terrible food
Disappointing experience. This place used to be better in terms of food taste/quality and portion sizes. The Chicken used in making the soup, Kung Pau chicken, and fried rice looked and tasted exactly same :)
Food is way way too salty
This place used to be outstanding. Seems like the owners changed. Not only are orders getting mixed up, but the yellow curry is always filled to only 3/4, has giant pieces of undercooked unedible potatoes in there. On our last take out order the estimated time was 30 minutes. It took 2 hours and 10 minutes to be ready for pick up. For 3 curries - these don't even need to be cooked from scratch I assume? Also of course, the containers are only 3/4 full and to top it off I had to pull a medium length wiry black hair out of my mouth. It was so gross, I called immediately to complain. I was promised a refund. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited, followed up 2 weeks later. Nothing. Now, a month later I have not received either an answer nor a refund. Attached a picture of the hair. Nobody in my family has long black hair, it was 100% from a cook.
Over-priced items with no real value of money. Kung Pao portion is super small compare to other restaurants. Literally 6 shrimp for $14.95. Never going back. NOT RECOMMENDED.
Very poor management. If you order orange chicken and rice, then they will give orange chicken and have to wait longer for rice, you can't eat together, lol.
Extremely bad customer service and not worth with price.
Think twice before eat here...
After we ordered we asked them whereโs the restroom. The man in the counter said it was all the way in the dark shabby room, and guess what, it was absolutely disgusting, Iโve seen school bathrooms with more cleanliness than this. After that we get out food and it was mediocre, the beef was chewy (possibly overcooked), the soup was served in this large bowl, etc. but the serving order is where I draw the line, they gave us entree first, soup second, and dead last was our drink. And the man I was talking about earlier was watching something from his Facebook (I heard multiple sound effects from his phone) Yeah never comin back.
The food and service was excellent. I liked this restaurant and enjoyed eating there with family and friends. The manager was very nice and made sure to provide us the best service and I appreciate it.
Exciting enough to have halal pho for the first time โ but the food overall is great here! Good people, feels like a family run spot.
Really good food, my favorite is beef pho. I'll definitely be back.
Arrived around 7:50 on Friday evening. Only two other tables were occupied (one couple left due to poor service). Took over 10-minutes for drinks. Brought first appetizer plate and started walking away, we had to stop server to ask for plates, utensils & napkins. Brought spicy dish when mild requested. Said they were out of one item ordered, but would take it off check. Forgot to bring another dish ordered.
Still here at 9:30 awaiting our corrected check (didnโt remove item they were out of) and carton for leftovers.
They SEEM to be new in the business and are TOTALLY overwhelmed and REALLY need help in restaurant management.
The food was not worth the price
Really tasty food, high quality, non greasy and well cooked. Ordered something that didn't come out the way I thought it would. They took the order back and gave me the option to get anything else, awesome service!
Best service ever and so clean restaurant ๐
Ordered online pick up at 12:00. I have to wait 35 minutes after.
So good..always best Larb ever but I like it spicy & i add cilantro And I eat it cold and put inside lettuce leaves ...omg so good..& I have tried alot of larb around LA...
Great family owned halal Thai restaurant.
We love the wonton soup and beef fried rice.
The pad thai and green curry were decent. Kung pao was ok. Service was friendly.
Food could've been more authentic but I hope it'll gradually get back to where it was taste wise (looks like it changed hands off late).
Met the owner, very friendly and welcoming. Amazing food at reasonable price
One of the Best Thai food I have had outside of Thailand. The food is not too salty, fresh ingredients and to top it off great service from Matthew who was our server- Amazing guy!
Yes I am a fan of their Tom Kha, the shrimp soup with coconut milk. So generous with the shrimp. Me and my friend always go there for this soup. 1 order is good for both of us. Delicious. I can't remember if other food that we ordered was good, but for this Tom Kha, I am not disappointed. Good to try. There's minimum price to use card, if I'm not mistaken. Sometimes, waitress can be a bit slow, and waiting time for the food as well.
Update 10-15-2022, This place has changed drastically, the quality of the meat and authenticity of the flavors is gone. I cant recommend this place any longer. The remodeled the interior, maybe that's why? Compensating for the money spent with low quality ingredients? Or maybe a change of ownership? ๐ข Such a bummer.
CAUTION!! When you order online there is about a 20 to 30 min delay before the restaurant receives the order. Call you order in if you want an accurate timeframe on when to pick up! Best Thai food around and their spice levels are legit mild, medium, hot, AND Thai Hot!! Everything I have ordered from here is delicious, haven't had a bad dish yet and I have been ordering from here for 6 years! You will not regret ordering food from here.
Friendly manager and the food was tasty and big portion
Service was slow and food was average. I ordered a Thai salad (chicken tasted reheated) and they gave me a tiny amount of the peanut dressing. I even asked for extra and it still wasn't enough to dress the salad. The Pad Thai was a bit dry...flavor wasn't bad, but I have certainly had better. For the price, I will probably go elsewhere next time.
Taste lees order brown rice send white rice
Small portions bad quality I just throw out
the food hope I didnโt get food poisoning
Thai halal food in canoga .. i ordered chow men with shrimps. It was indeed yummy. Portion was good enough for 1 person ..
I went in with mild expectations, however I was pleasantly surprised. It was affordable and very tasty. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu
Nice place and delicious food.
Good service and very good food.
I plave the online order for pick up and I was order chicken egg roll. . They have out . They put spring roll. They suppose to call me ask for if you wnat the spring roll instead 0f chicken egg roll.
Bcz spring roll 6 or 7 dollars. And chicken roll 12 dollar .. They have poor management.. . They cheat the money ..
Good food good mood. Large portions and one of the better iced thai teas
WATCH OUT!!!! Food was ok BUT WATCH OUT IF YOU PAY WITH CREDIT CARD !!!!!!!. They charge 4% credit card fee without telling you and it will be shown on the receipt AS TAX. If you don't pay attention, it can easily mislead you. It just caught my eyes and I know that $3.89 is not 10% of $28. ( Tax is actually just 9.5%). That's when the waiter showed me a SECOND receipt that shows the 4% credit card fee ONLY WHEN I ASKED!!!!!! Very deceitful. They charged my card but refunded after. I would not have known abt it if I did not catch it myself. Putting TAX to hide the cc fee is very deceitful so watch out for it. They explain only if you ask. Wish i know how to attach photo of my receipt here.
Food is good but beware of customer service issues--if you have any issues with your order they will argue with you and refuse to recognize the error and credit you back or provide the right dish. We got an order with 2 of the same dish so needed it corrected but they refused to refund/credit/re-do the dish to reflect what we actually ordered. They were argumentative and did not listen when I kindly explained what happened. Will reconsider whether we continue ordering from here. Unfortunate.
We had our iftaar here in Lemon Grass. Its 100% Halal food.
We got the Wang ton soup, Orange chicken, spicy combo fried rice , plain rice and Red curry.
It costed around 60 dollars or around 15$/Dish on average. The food we ordered were enough for 3 to 4 people.
The staff were really helpful, even helped us to pack the food for to go.
Definitely will come again.
Food was really tasty as well. Enjoyed it
Nope never came back soups very bad food tasting ugly
Amazing food (like really very good) and service! Veer, our waiter, was incredibly helpful and did his best to accommodate us. Definitely recommend this place!
Was one of my favorite experience. Is located in a strip mall so not a lot of parking. The staff is fantastic and friendly. The staff is Thai, India and Chinese. The menu is predominantly Thai food with big portions. Our waitress made me feel like family. So much food had to take some of it home. Good food, excellent service and moderate prices is why it was a trifecta and is worth 5 Star..
Small cozy ambience...the food was amazing๐๐
Delicious halal Thai food!
5 star for food quality. Price is good too. Small hole in the wall.
It's been a year we have not been here. Meanwhile they enlarged the restaurant by adding the adjacent store and enriched their menu. Now this place looks much better. They serve all traditional Thai soups such as noodle soups with your choice of beef or chicken. We had curry chicken, chicken wonton soup, stir fried vegetables with proteins, pad thai & noodle soup with a side of butterfly shrimp. All were very delicious.
Went towards the end of the night and put in an order for take-out. The order included chicken pad thai which is a pretty standard dish at all Thai restaurants. Our order (pad thai plus one other noodle dish) took a half hour to complete. In the meantime, none of the seated guests were attended to or given refills. We kept getting told that our order was "almost ready," but then she would just disappear. Eventually the order came and we headed home. When we dished out the food at home, we found that the pad thai that we waited a half hour for was just plain noodles with chicken it -- they forgot the pad thai sauce/seasonings! The other dish had good flavor, but the noodles were a little overcooked. The overcooked noodles is forgivable, but they should have seen that my noodles were plain since they were just white with no sauce. We will definitely not be going back. There are way too many other thai restaurant options in the Valley to deal with that service and quality.
I ordered $70 worth of food. Because average person pays that high for literally two things on a plate. Too expensive as is. Then to top it off i asked for some sauce on the side because they dont put anything besides your order in the bag. U have to ask and then they obviously want to charge u because they are cheap and dont know how to run a business . She charged me extra for the sauce. When i came home i looked at my order and the orange chicken i got was completely dry and old and stale. I called back to let the owner lady know that the orange chicken was dry and old. She said oh really come by and pickup some sauce so u can put it on the dry orange chicken. I told her are u serious. U want me to drive all the way back 30 minutes away for just sauce. I was shocked and she then said okay thank u happy new years. Clearly new yearโs resolution to stop being cheap was not on their list.
Clean place, delicious food new favorite spot.
The new owners really brought the quality down. Used to be out favorite spot for Thai. Seems like new owners gutted the quality. The flavors are bland and too salty. The rice is cheap. It's lowest common denominator thai.
Even the restroom is filthy now. I was scared to touch light switch, built up dirt grime on the walls. Door knob was so dirty I had to open with my shoe. Far cry from what it used to be.
Obvious what the new owners care about. Not qualify or customers just $$
No thanks
How disappointing todayโs transaction. After 10 years of ordering from this restaurant. What a slap in the face! I did not order any lunch special, paid full price for full portion.
I ordered online on their website, arrived no order ready. Actually no order at all! The cook was yelling about no order, 3 ladies @ front looking for my paperwork/order. Then one lady brought out an order that was completely wrong. Showed her my email confirmation and after waiting another 20 min. They brought out another order, at this point I am tired and late. I explained to her thisโฆ is the wrong size. I didnโt order a lunch special. She replied we have no lunch special any more. This will be my last visit ever! Wish them well, but itโs not good karma to conduct business like this!
Worst Thai food Iโve ever had. Prik King tasted sour as in old, was vegetarian and had a piece of chicken like they added together left overs. Husband cashew chicken was also horrible. Never again!
Great Halal Thai option, have ordered from here about 10 times now- food is always good
Orange chicken is awful do not get it too hard and is bitter too oily!
Their food is okay better thai food places this is not it
i want to keep this place at 5 stars
Pretty solid halal option in the area, ordered twice during our stay and canโt complain.
The fried rice n chicken dumpling was excellent
food was tasty
The service here is really bad. It took more than an hour to get all of our food. The people who were working at that time said it was busy but there were hardly any ppl there. The food was mediocre but for the wait it wasnโt worth it. I would recommend to only order from this place. DO NOT DINE IN.
The food here is very delicious. I had their Pad thai with mixed meats. Shrimps, beef, and chicken that was so delicious. I also had their veggie egg rolls and Thai iced tea. Overall 5/5 stars. And the restaurant has very kind and helpful employees. I really enjoyed my experience here. Thanks!
Best service and good tasting food 100% recommend
Especially the spicy gra pad thai .I will come again and bring other to try !
Good experience
Most amazing food
Really delicious food!!!
pretty good food with pretty good price, thank you
I first went here back in December and it was a perfect experience so I choose to go back yesterday and trust me I will never be going back. The prices were almost doubled and quantity was cut into half. Bought 60 dollars worth of food that couldnโt even feed 3 people. After a little bit of research online I had found there was a change in management that caused this.
I will never go back.
We have been going here for years and was obsessed with this thai food, however now being under new management and a thai-halal restaurant I find that their thai food tastes a lot different. We ordered Chicken Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Orange Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken but definitely not the recipes I was expecting. The portions are smaller and less tasting. Still an okay restaurant but not the same quality in my opinion. Their service is pretty good and fast.
Best thing is that they have Halal Food. Quality of food is good.
Very tasty!
Good food quality... Nice service
I like their thai food. Quality food for reasonable price .
Varieties of Thai cuisine...
Beautiful food, excellent service
This time service was better
Delicious Halal food. I recommend Mongolian beef with fried rice, their salads, any kind of soups are delicious, and Thai ice tea. ๐
This is the worst restaurant and total rip-off. Both the quality and the quantity of the food we ordered was not at all worth the money. The service was rude and itโs smelly. Will NOT recommend this restaurant for any one. Ambiance of the restaurant was good. Decent parking.
Food is amazing!
They messed up our order
Good halal Thai option in valley area
Ok food
The thai ice tea was super. So was the peanut sauce... everything was under rated in its value of price!!!! I would've rather just cooked for the $62 I spent for 2 people. This place charges additional if you do not pay cash. Dont be offended like I was .. read the sign
Great service and even better food . Their spicy fried rice is beyond delicious. Best in the valley... Would definitely recommend A+
Great Thai food! Been there a few times and always had a great experience. A lot of people order take out from them.
Food is Excellent . We ordered Fried Rice with CHicken and asked for extra chicken and pineapple. Charged 7$ more on top of the menu price . We felt it is very pricey for asking for extra chicken . Another surprise is paying by credit card will cost you more. Was not happy with the $17 bill for eating one fried rice.
Exelente muy rico todo
I have nothing but love for low-key Thai restaurants. They are one of the few things that bring me joy in 2019. So, I went to Lemongrass with high hopes. When we got there, it felt understaffed. It took us a while to get service. We had the tom kha, the red curry, and one of the chicken stir-fry's. The dishes were well-balanced and flavorful, like most Thai food. All in all, it was a decent experience. However, once I got home I got a horrible stomach ache, which later turned out to be food poisoning (first time since I was a teenager). It lasted for a week. Not sure if it was improper handling of food or food that had gone bad, but I cannot express the disappointment I felt sitting on that toilet.
Best thai everrrrr
just so we're all VERY clear. They do NOT sell BOAT NOODLES. yet there's a huge sign of Boat Noodles outside. SMH.
First thing first it's HALAL, we have been visiting this place since while. Their food is good too BUT not all of it. I liked sate chicken, pineapple/red/green curry/Pad thai and spicy fried rice.
But recently they changed something my dinner check was high even though we ordered 4 items only and also I think they reduced the quantity as well.
I recommend this place but watch for price specially if you are going with you family.
Excellent food
What a great taste, good staff and most of all halal Thai food.
DELECIOUS AWESOME SUPERB SERVICE AUTHENTIC RESTURANT.
Lemongrass is a good Thai restaurant tucked inside a strip center on Sherman Way near the corner of Farralone. The restaurant is fairly large, having at some point taken over an adjacent space, thus allowing for greater seating capacity. The restaurant is tastefully decorated in traditional Thai art.
The food itself is pretty good: they offer a nice selection of classic That dishes, and a few that are actually Chinese ..likely for patrons unfamiliar or unadventurous with Thai cuisine. Sauces and curries are well done here. They also have very good soups. The rice I'm not a fan of: it tends to be not so fresh when I get it..more likely having sat in the ride cooker for awhile.
Service is very polite and the owner does a good job of checking on customers intermittently. Prices are fair..running in the moderate range. They offer a discount for people paying with cash.
This restaurant has some great Thai food that you gotta love, Great food and I loved the wooden carvings that they had on the inside. Its not the biggest place but the food here is super
Came here for the very first time today with co-workers for lunch and I highly recommend it! I ordered the cashew chicken lunch special and it was delicious! Very flavorful and the ingredients all tasted fresh. The waitress was extremely nice and accommodating from the moment we walked in. She had to move a table up against a booth to seat all of us and made sure we all had menus and silverware. Throughout our lunch she was very attentive. I will definitely be returning!
Great food and good service. I wish i could eat there every day.
Check your bills before you pay. They are not honest.
Food was tasty, restaurant comfortable
Inside of the restaurant looks attractive. But donโt get fooled with the prices in the menu. Your total bill will spoil your mood. Spend your hard earned money at other restaurant.
Food is good and place is clean but the restaurant definitely needs at least 2 additional waiter.
Service factor needs a lot attention.
Really delicious Thom Ka Gui! Try it with the glass noodles. Even better!
Vietnamese influenced food. Good service too.
If you have a taste for Thai cuisine it dosnt get any better than Lemongrass! Absolutely delicious...and exeptional service!
Very great
Food was good .
Waitress/hostess/dishwasher/busboy, was really busy and did a good job.
