The food was delicious and well seasoned. Love the variety of spiciness and also a selection of spicy sauces to add if you want more heat.

I now know why this place has 4.8/5 stars. This food here was Soo yummy. I also loved that they had items on their menu I’ve never seen at other Thai restaurants in the valley. The grilled coconut rice on a stick was delicious and very addictive. I could have easily eaten the whole plate on my own. The coconut flavor isn’t overpowering and I love the grilled flavor. Every item we ordered was delicious and our server was very friendly and helpful with suggestions. I live in the WV and would drive back here again. If you’re looking for a good Thai place, give this place a try.

Discovered this hidden spot yesterday. I had Panang curry which was beautifully served and absolutely delicious with just the right amount of spice. Server was so welcoming and friendly. It was so quick and easy to pay the bill which makes it convenient when on a lunch break.I highly recommend this spot for delicious Thai food.

We came here biased on the reviews. And let me tell you they did NOT disappoint!! I wish I would have taken pictures but we were so hungry we just inhaled everything!! Definitely delicious! We had the fried chicken, larb moo, the coconut milk soup (can’t remember what they called it) the crab fried rice. Dessert we had the coconut gelato- omg delicious as well as the mango sticky rice! 10/10 come here you won’t be disappointed!

A nice restaurant for Thai street food. We really enjoyed the dishes we ordered and really liked the flavors. The atmosphere is great for a family dinner, and the aesthics are fun.

Finally found good Thai food in Mesa! My wife and I are originally from NYC and we'd never found a place that could replace our favorite Thai restaurant there... until now. This place has food that at least seems authentic to us, and it's very fresh and tastes homemade. I got the dumplings and green curry; my wife got the papaya salad and pad thai. Those are basically the dishes we use to test Thai restaurants, and they all tasted exactly as we'd hoped and would expect from a good Thai restaurant. Very nicely presented too. No other Thai restaurant that we've tried here has really achieved that. (A couple have come close, or did it once or twice but are just inconsistent. But all four of our dishes were perfect at Mae-Khong.)

Excellent service too - we didn't catch our server's name (an oversight on our part) but she went through basically the entire menu for us, and also explained everything about the different sauces she brought over as seasoning for our dishes.

We will definitely be back!

Best Thai there is

I recently tried Mae Khong Restaurant for the first time and was quite pleased with my experience. I ordered the Chicken Drunken Noodles and Khao Pad and both dishes were flavorful and satisfying.

The Chicken Drunken Noodles was well-seasoned with just the right amount of spice and the chicken was tender. The portion size was less compared to the khao pad.

The Khao Pad was also enjoyable. It had a nice mix of ingredients and a good portion size, though I could smell some fish sauce over powering the other spices.

Mae khong delivered a solid meal with quality ingredients. I'll definitely be returning to explore more of their menu.

Food was bland. No taste at all. Prices are not online so when I paid $27 for dumplings, tofu with mix vegetables & rice, it was not worth it!

Wow! This place is legitimately delicious. Authentic deep flavors in every bite. You must order the dumplings to start your adventure followed by the crab fried rice and the yellow curry. I’ll be back!!

Chill and friendly atmosphere but the layout could be a little bit better. Food was amazing, had the fried rice before and today decided to try the shrimp pad Thai. The spiciness level was perfect. I've eaten Thai from Bar Harbor Maine to Florida to San Deigo. & when I say this is the best Thai I've ever eaten. Wish I could give 6 stars! The authentic flavor profile of the dishes were like tiny explosions in my mouth. Even the spring rolls were heavenly. And don't get me started on desert. The mango sticky rice & Gelato is a must try! Will be back soon. Service was great also. Awesome atmosphere.

First time experience having Thai food. Others in my group have had it previously. The server was great and explained the menu great. The food was great! We read reviews prior, and they have seemed to fixed issues with the small amount of food be served. We all had plenty to eat. Would go again, unfortunately, not from the area.

Extremely small portions for the price. My noodles, veggies, and tofu dish had 6 noodles, the tofu was cut very thinly about 3 pieces cut in half. Hardly any veggies. All liquid. The pineapple rice was delicious and abundant, for $10 for calamari. The thinnest and smallest calamari that I have ever seen. Very few as well.

I sat at the bar, the service was speedy, the food was delicious, and the drinks were gas 😮‍💨 I had the holy basil with beef please give it a try it was amazing, but the larb moo was *chefs kiss* it reminded me of a dish from home called salpicon for my fellow Salvadorians. With its own twist, would pair great with beer as it had a salty/savory taste, but oh so refreshing. Great tapas! It’s a small restaurant but packs a whole lotta punch. I didn’t feel rushed, and fully enjoyed myself. Kinda wish I was going out afterwards as the drinks had me going. I had the sao-wa-rod and tang gua. There are not many opportunities to eat outside in Phoenix during the summer but we had an amazing cool down this week so we wanted to try someplace new with outdoor seating. What a find! The service was fantastic - inviting, friendly, and attentive. They offer Thai street food on small plates so we tried the Coconut sticky rice lollipops which were very different and delicious. For cocktails we had a coconut mojito and a boozy Thai iced tea - great choices! Our entrees came quickly, were well portioned and tasted fantastic. This was a great find and we’ll definitely be back.

I wasn’t planning on writing a review because it was my first time here and I got take out, but I was very impressed! First of all, the atmosphere was very nice and the service was so great. A staff member was very patient and offered us water while we waited for our order (I ordered there and not over the phone). After getting home my food was packaged very well and with a sauce on the side. I ordered the pineapple fried rice with shrimp. I normally don’t order fried rice but it sounded good. I was not disappointed! It was so delicious! I had a great experience and look forward to coming back and dining in!

Authentic Thai basil

My first visit and it will be my last visit. Purchase $130 food .the food looks delicious but the flavor was nasty. Too much MSG, over cook and dried "old meat". Long waiting and customer service has no welcome. Look as If we were aburden on them. We ask a simple question about food ingredient bc we are allergic to certain I gredient , his answer were very rude. Don't recommend this place.

Got the gai thord (fried chicken), pineapple fried rice with shrimp, pad see eiw, and panang nuer curry - all to go.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice and the service was excellent (both on the phone when placing the order and at the counter).
The food was amazing! Kept very well, given my 30 minute commute back from the restaurant, and it was neatly packed in a brown paper bag. All very flavorful, with the right amount of spice, just excellent! Definitely the best Thai food I’ve had in Phoenix!
I’ll be going back many more times to try the rest of the menu.

My husband found this little hidden amazing Thai food place (because he knows Thai food is my favorite kind of food). The food was amazing and authentic. We talked with the owner, who was from Chian Mai. The entrees we moderately priced. By the time we left, the small restaurant was packed. We'll be going back!

As a native Thai, I highly recommend this place! Whether you are new to Thai food or have lived in Thailand and had Thai food, this place will not disappoint! While eating their moo ping, it took me back home to Thailand. Their pad kee mao (drunken noodles) was perfection! The owner, Thomas was very nice and gave us free sticky rice on a stick that was fried with sweet coconut milk. We will be coming back again for sure.

Everything we got was amazing. My husband lived in Laos and traveled along Thailand extensively and he said it was the best Thai food he’s had since he’s left Asia! When I visit Mesa, will consider going back, but definitely won't make a special trip as I normally would for a great meal.

Future date nights the wifey says. There was 9 of us that showed up with 30 minutes in advance notice. They had our places all set and ready. We had a mixture of everything on the menu and there was nothing bad. It was all fantastic high quality food. The service was 5 stars but not of a big restaurant. There were 1 or 2 people running the entire show so food came out staggered for everyone so just be prepared for that but it was hot and delicious!

We got drinks and tried four different things off of the tapas menu and all of them were amazing. Decent prices and super great service! It’s a perfect place to try a new food and be able to taste several different things. I also loved the tv in the corner playing videos of people making street food, it was a cool touch. Great thai food.

I'm always looking for more of an authentic Thai food restaurant. This place is definitely the best tasting Thai food have had in the area. We tried the fried chicken, crab fried rice, and the dumplings. The taste was amazing! This is street food at its best.

Very interesting recipes here! It’s unique with their twist, and actually decent! There has yet to be a Thai restaurant that meets my taste / desire being that I was born and raise in eastern Thailand. The best takeaway here is the Kor Moo Yang! My husband and I will be back for the AMAZING hospitality by Thomas and the fact that it’s one of very few Thai restaurants with a full bar! Although serving size is not as great as other restaurants or what we’re used to, I have to say the interesting flavor they offer here is one you have to try!

The food and service exceeded my hopes and dreams! I had the privilege of eating Laotian food and "hoped" I would find what I had eaten before with a very close friend who introduced me to the cuisine. Needless to say I have and they have a forever client!

Having had lived in Thailand before, I can safely say this is the most accurate and delicious Thai food in the area that I have been able to try so far. I would go as far as to say it was one of the few places in all of the USA that I have tried that fits this description. It is so good that it’s one of the few food spots that I get sad at when I finish my plate. My Thai girlfriend has the same opinion. Try it. You won’t be sorry.
