This is a fairly newer restaurant and I’m upset I didn’t know about it sooner. My boyfriend and I went in tonight for dinner to which we were not disappointed! The service was excellent, giving us lots of time to decide, offering quick refills without being asked, as well as starting nice conversation. The outside of the restaurant does not do justice to the nicely decorated and lively interior. The sushi was very fresh and we were even close enough to partially see it being made. Our favorite was the Last Call roll!! The tofu in the veggie delite was one of the best I’ve ever tasted in a restaurant. We highly recommend eating here, wether it be a Thai dish or sushi that you try, it will be delicious regardless.

We had the hibachi chicken, steak and shrimp, it was fantastic! We also tried the basil rolls as an appetizer and they were very good. The peanut sauce that the basil rolls came with was some of the best I have had. The staff were welcoming and attentive, I highly recommend this place!

Delicious food and excellent customer service. Kadek, our server, was great! I recommend the volcano roll. I got it without without eel sauce. Definitely one of the top ten rolls I've ever eaten! This restaurant is a hidden gem.

BEST IN TUSCALOOSA!!!! THE FLAVORS ARE TOP TIER, SERVICE IS EXCELLENT…. Even the water + 🍋 is crisp!!! If you haven’t visited please trust me stop by and enjoy yourselves. This establishment is what I’d say is QUALITY for your money.

This place is awesome! The staff is super friendly! We brought our 2 and 5 year old grandsons with a family birthday celebration group and had a blast! Everything was perfect. The Hibachi chef was really good with the boys, and they even sampled and ate some of the food—all of which was delicious. We’ll definitely be back!

This is one of my absolute favorite fusion restaurants. They do a little bit of Thai and Japanese. Their sushi is the best in town.

We have my mother's 80th birthday dinner there. When I say it was a great experience for her the staff is very nice and friendly. And the cooks put it on a great Entertaining show and all the food was very good, best i tasted in a long time

My husband and I have been three times now, and every time the service has been wonderful and the food has been amazing. You are greeted and seated promptly, and the staff makes sure you are enjoying your meal. I would recommend this place a thousand times over.

If you are thinking about going - don’t think about it - just go!!! Absolutely wonderful staff and chef. I went with my family to celebrate a birthday. The staff were friendly, fast, and helpful. The food was top quality! The noodles and rice are to die for. I had the steak and chicken combo - DELICIOUS. My children have never experienced hibachi and the chef was so patient and understanding - especially with one of mine being autistic. They had great chicken tenders and fries for the littles - but the adult food was so amazing they enjoyed that too! An absolute 10/10 experience! Please come out and eat and support them!

We have eaten here several times and the food and the people who work there are great. Hopefully they do some advertising to get more people coming in. The food here is WAY better than any of the other Japanese steakhouses around Tuscaloosa.

Our family of nine celebrated a birthday tonight at this wonderful restaurant! We had two young children ages two years and five years who had their first visit to this type of restaurant. The chef went out of his way to be entertaining for these two kiddos! We laughed and laughed! The food was outstanding and so were the drinks!

I LOVE Thai food and convinced my office to eat Shiki for lunch. All of our food had a weird synthetic aftertaste and the Pad Thai was eh at best. I may give the sushi a chance but this soured me quite a bit. Would NOT order the Pad Thai or Hibachi Lunch/Dinner again.

The food was awesome as well as the service.

I placed an online order. Apparently they didn't start preparing until I arrived. You walk in and just stand there until someone notices you standing there. It looks deserted and dark. I saw maybe 4 employees. Very disappointed in the wait and the food wasn't all that. After 15 minutes I inquired about my order I was offered a beverage while I waited another 10 to 15 minutes for my order.

Pad Thai weren’t good as expected. Overly wet and soggy. Maybe I’ll try it another time.

First time here! And the food is Excellent!! My husband had the Thai Shrimp Pineapple Curry Awesome flavor and just a beautiful dish! I had the Volcano rolls beautiful dish as well and Awesome flavor! It was his Birthday today and they surprise him! The owner came and asked how everything was we will definitely come back!

Absolutely incredible. They have the best sushi I've ever tasted, and I'm originally from California so I've had a lot of sushi. There's one roll that has a little lime/lemon on it. GET IT! That and the Surf n Turf, delicious. The service is impeccable, super friendly. They let us try their version of ceviche and it was good. We had a total of 6 rolls and there wasn't a single one we disliked.

We had dinner here last night. The Hibachi was amazing. My daughter had sushi and she loved it! My other daughter had the Hibachi and she loved it! It is such a great restaurant. Everyone was so nice!

Best sushi in Tuscaloosa. My husband tried their hibachi with file minon and my goodness! The steak was tender and flavorful. Will definitely get my sushi from here.

The food was excellent. Had Pad Thai and a Rock n' Roll sushi roll. The food you are served looks like what they post on Instagram. The owner was very concerned with our experience - both the quality of the food and the service. Quality over quantity. We will definitely go back.

Food was great. We had crab rangoons and sushi for appetizers. The sushi was some of if not the best sushi we’ve had in Tuscaloosa. The hibachi was pretty good. I got the steak and shrimp. Steak was great. Shrimp was pretty good. Rice and noodles were good. Vegetables left a little to be desired. My girlfriend got the hibachi tuna which was seasoned well and tasted great. Service was also incredible. Our drinks never got below half empty and we didn’t have to wait for anything. Appetizers came out fast and were appropriate temperatures. We will be back soon!

Take my word for it- Shiki is better than Hokkaido!! Great service, in and out but we were not rushed. Didn’t have to ask for anything- our server made sure we always had drinks, napkins & made sure we were taken care of. The owner made sure to come by and speak to us too. We had enough food left over to have two additional meals after our dinner and it isn’t crazy expensive! 10/10 recommend!! Food was amazing, seasoned great & actually had flavor unlike Hokkaido. I got the teriyaki chicken hibachi dinner (soup, salad, chicken, veggies, rice & noodles) and it was SO good! You need to try this place- highly recommend and we will be back to try more!

My husband and I have done both dine-in and take-out from Shiki. They are consistent with flavors. Our first experience with Shiki was at their Homewood location.
We had a whole red fish dish. It was delicious 😋 Not sure if it's still on the menu, but other favorites are the spicy tofu coconut soup and spicy shrimp coconut soup. The spring rolls, Hibachi, and bento box lunches are excellent. Each time we have visited, the staff has been friendly. They even accommodated me when I experienced a temporary dietary restriction. We highly recommend ordering your next meal from Shiki Japanese Thai Sushi Bar.

I recently ordered takeout from Shiki Japanese Thai Sushi Bar in Tuscaloosa, and it was an outstanding experience! Even for takeout, the food maintained its excellent quality and presentation.

The pad Thai was a highlight. It arrived perfectly cooked, with a great balance of flavors. The noodles were tender, the vegetables fresh, and the sauce was deliciously savory with a hint of sweetness. Each bite was a wonderful combination of textures and tastes that left me wanting more.

I also tried the Vulcan roll, and it was a true culinary delight. The roll was expertly prepared, even for takeout, with a beautiful presentation and an amazing taste. The combination of ingredients provided a delightful mix of flavors.

Shiki Japanese Thai Sushi Bar is a must-try for anyone in Tuscaloosa looking for fantastic food. I can't wait to order from them again!

What a great place to eat. We had the most delicious tuna tataki, Thai basil spring rolls that were extra fresh, sushi and pad Thai. Every dish was very good. Best place in Tuscaloosa. They also have hibachi that we will try on next visit.

The owner and staff treated us like family. The hibachi was really engaging with excellent portions of very tasty food! The food was delicious. Plating was nice. My husband ordered the hibachi steak and chicken. By accident he got the steak and shrimp. The correction was made quickly. Only suggestion on the shrimp would be to pull the shrimp sooner. The steak itself was cooked wonderfully I, myself got the Panang Curry it had great flavor. Our server was wonderful, very attentive. We would deffinatly be back.

Today was my first time eating here. I was surprised with the ambiance. It was super cozy and comfortable. The food was delicious, not gonna lie. I tried Mie Goreng, noodles with tofu. I also tried sushi today. Both were delicious. I would definitely go there again with my friends and would recommend everyone to go there and try.

Wanted to give this place another try. The sushi wasn’t great but the hibachi was pretty good. The dine experience was a okay, so this time we figure we’ll get hibachi to go. They say their open online. They allowed me to place an order online, but it never got confirmed. My 70 dollar order cancelled sometime later and I’m sure it will take 48 hours for my refund to come as well. This was done before 7pm on a Monday. Was hoping for something better in a solid location. I didn’t even mentioned how overpriced the sushi was. Won’t be back!

Our first time and definitely NOT the last. We will be back. This is another wonderful addition to the Asian food scene in Tuscaloosa.

We chose sushi and Thai for our first visit. The sushi was beautifully prepared and delicious. We shared a rainbow roll, and I imagine everything on the vast sushi/sashimi menu is just as delicious.

The chicken curry masaman was perfect and it came with a bowl of somewhat spicy coconut tofu soup. This masaman has tofu and vegetable options.

My family and I just moved near Shiki just in time for them to open. We have been several times and love it! I’ve even brought family from out of town to dinner and they loved it as well. It has become our favorite Japanese/Thai place in Tuscaloosa! We would definitely recommend.

I was happily surprised at how good the food is!! I like sushi in moderation, I don’t like it to be too fishy or raw and that’s hard to get in sushi but this place over delivered!

I’ve lived here for almost a year now and have tried every place here in hopes of finding good sushi. I found it. I finally found a place to have sushi. Other places all taste the same but shiki actually has flavor I can taste the flavor of the meat from the fish in each bite not just ocean flavor. This place puts the roll in roll tide.

The pad Thai is banging. The flavor of the Thai peanut sauce is actually there and the pad Thai isn’t super dry.
I wish I ordered more food.

I tried this place for the first time today, and it is hands down my favorite Asian food restaurant in Tuscaloosa. I had the massaman curry and the crab angels. They were so amazingly tasty. I couldn’t hardly put my fork down. I would recommend this place 10 times over.

I can't believe there's such a nice looking thai restaurant in Tuscaloosa. Got the shrimp pad thai. I would have liked more tamarind flavoring. But they were very generous with the portion size and the number of shrimps. The staff was courteous and checked on me frequently. Got the pad see ew to go, loved it. Tastes even better with a little soy sauce and fish sauce. This place might have a hard time competing with thai basil because it's out of the way, but I'm glad there's another place in town for thai take out.

First time for my wife and I to try. Well worth it! Food was delicious and service was great! So glad to have them in our area! Will definitely be going back!

My daughter and I tried out Shiki tonight. The sushi was well presented and fresh. The chicken bento boxes were both well seasoned and perfectly grilled… The service was warm and friendly. Definitely will be returning soon to experience the live hibachi grill with the whole crew…
