Food was all very good. And portions are big, we all had some left to take home. Only downside is it was kinda pricey, but you get what you pay for. So you won't be disappointed.

Bubble tea excellent! Layers of flavor streamlined with a great menu. The food was served hot, well balanced and piled to crush any appetite in the first round! Bring the jaw line to the table on this, delicious. The Philly sushi role was money! Rice was fresh made like warm bringing the cream cheese down to the perfect texture. Tuna 🍣 was by no way a fridge sitter, it was sharp from the sea. Vegetable role stuck together and well made , balanced and served with a homemade version sauce that was impressive.

Amazing stop. Simplistic table settings, but clean environment with some great color schemes & wall art. Very friendly staff. Excellent Food! Much more authentic than most places we have been in the US. Glad we stopped & look forward to future meals here. Thank you! Recommended.

Benja's Thai is kind of a fast food place. They do have a large menu that takes up a whole wall. The server was pleasant and helpful and the food came out quickly. The taste of some of the food is ok, but really, not that flavorable.

The food was great, the restaurant is clean, the wait staff is very friendly. The reason for the 4 stars is because of price. They are pricey. The food pictured is a super crunchy roll and teriyaki chicken anlong with 2 pork egg rolls and crab ragoons.

New visit, waited in drive through 20+ min. but only 2 cars ahead of me. Sign on window, "no refunds." Closed on Mondays during May. Then, unfortunately, food left weird funny feeling in one place in throat.
A year ago...Great atmosphere. Authentic museum quality rickshaw inside. counter service Thai food. Chef is real thing, little English, unable to adapt to vegan. Zero entrees for vegetarians/vegans bc not flexible about oyster sauce/fish sauce bases. They don't understand the distinction. No tofu here. Could eat summer rolls/sushi. When asked for vegan Pad Woonsen (w/rice noodles), was told they CAN NOT leave egg out of anything but Lo Mein (w/egg noodles). Very accommodating w/refund once discovered they misunderstood/made it wrong, and apologetic. 3 t.v.s too many for small place. Video on one was animal eating animal. Beautiful walls and better than average seating.

Disappointed. I ordered shrimp rolls. That means a shrimp or 2 with cream cheese hard fried. There is no seasoning or taste. It was very disappointing. Even the dip did not help with flavor.
Disappointed again it’s been three years since I tried the place and thought maybe their food would improve. It has not when you order an appetizer sampler you would expect it to be fresh. The egg rolls in the bag were double cooked hard dripping grease out of them the crab lagoon what was that you put in them once again I’m going to never recommend or go back to this place for a third time it’s disgusting want some good food go to charm or Asian garden

Boba drink is water based it’s not authentic at all the boba was over cooked.
I ordered the beef pad Thai it was literally disgusting to me and my son. I took one bite and had enough.

I will not be returning. Over priced for bad food.

Benja is a hidden gen if you like authentic Thai. With the best bubble tea in Mobile. If you go try the Pad Thai or Panang Curry topped with a frozen Tara Frozen boba tea. It will not disappoint

Update on June 2024. Food prices are getting a little out if hand. This will affect our decision to choose Benjas in the future. Prices are up and quantities are down. Not looking good. Do something fast Benja.

I just ordered from DoorDash. I ordered the appetizer combo, crispy chicken & shrimp woo sen. i specifically requested no egg in the noodles. Well we didn’t get the full appetizer & my noodles are full of egg. I called & they said the sampler only had 1 of something (on their menu it says 2 of everything) & that noodles cannot be made without egg. Said it was also listed on the menu. They’re full of it! So I spent a lot of money to throw my food out! Can’t eat egg! Never again!

The sushi is really good (husband). I have ordered the Curry so many times (12)? It’s not as sweet as other restaurants but it’s as delicious. I ask for extra basil and it’s so fresh I can’t believe it isn’t grown there. Friendly and efficient staff.

It's bland the white rice had no flavor The lemonade tasted great though. The fried fish plate did not taste good. The teriyaki chicken was bland. The pad Thai noodles the kids enjoyed that it was decent in seasoning.

Small family run Thai restaurant with great food. The atmosphere is low down and perfect for casual dates, wouldn't recommend for fancy dinners though. Good service, and the food comes out quick and hot. The fried cheesecake is a must have, and the specialty sushi is a little pricey (13-16$) but overall very good. Will come again.

This is the most bland over priced food. There is no Thai flavor at all. The combo fried rice had one shrimp. Being from Chicago this is not Thai food. Tiny egg rolls and bad rangoon. I was very disappointed.

Love the new location. Unfortunately, we don’t make it to west mobile as often as we would like, but Benja’s is always a mainstay in our rotation of restaurants we like. Everyone has been really nice every time we went, and the food has always been great!

Update: We moved to West Mobile, so Benja’s is back on the menu!

I went to the old location a few years back. It was amazing, delicious. Came back to Mobile excited to check out the new location. Spent 50 dollars for two people and it was served on paper plates, half the size and the taste was nothing compared to the old Benja. Sad. They left their style and culture at the old location.

Had lunch here today and I can't remember ever having sushi this bad. Had the Hot Mommy Roll and I tried really hard to eat it but the 3rd piece wouldn't go down....had to spit it out on plate. Rice was gummy, the fish on top tasteless, and the fried shrimp inside was awful. The place was clean and the server nice but way overpriced.

Excellent food and the staff is so friendly. I usually get the cashew chicken which is always great. All the appetizers are also great. Haven't tried the sushi yet so can't speak for it.

I always love coming through and getting food! It's always delicious and the prices are great especially since the portions are large! One of my favorite places in Mobile!

Great local Thai and sushi restaurant. We started with crab rangoons. I got the crispy chicken and my wife had the Bama roll. Portions were generous and the food was delicious.

Iv been coming here since the start of covid. Food is always amazing and steaming hot! I get the chicken Tom kha soup & lettuce wraps! Amaziinggggg!! And I love that I always have left overs.

I think I eat here at least once a week! I love it!

I’m only reviewing because for some reason the first review you seen on google says the pad thai was lacking taste. It was excellent. Mine was medium and my wife ordered as spicy as it gets and they were both great.

Ordered 3 which totaled $42 and the portions are small for the amount of money they charge. Also I order the combo rice with chicken and shrimp and the rice was small and only had 2 shrimp in it for $13. I ordered through door dash and i called them and told them and the lady did not care and told me that this is what the rice is suppose to come with. Why would i order some rice that is $13 and it only comes with 2 shrimp and hardly and chicken. Does not make any sense at all, and all the money i spent with them was a big waste. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND & I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THEY HAVE SO MANY GOOD RATINGS. ALSO THE FOOD WAS NOT GOOD AT ALL.

I normally always get the Tom Kah shrimp and it’s always good. And this time still good. Except normally having 6+ shrimp, only 3. And it was a large Tom Kah. Just really disappointed with that.

Food is always delicious here and the Thai tea is addictive! I love to grab lunch here because the location is convenient and the drive thru is really good for COVID. I've recommended this place to all my friends.

They are a little expensive but the food is good and will leave you with leftovers. Also very filling and tasty.

We have been here a few times and no issues, went there tonight and it was gross. Ask for the manager and they stated she will be out in a minute well 30 minutes went by still no manager, next they tell us shes on her way here still no one. Wasted almost $50.00 tonight cause they wouldn't refund my money. Don't waste your time or money at this place. We will never go back again. The Orange chicken looked like a ball of dog food, rice was greasy as he'll. So damn NASTY

This place is one of the worst place I've eaten at. My friend and I tried were looking for great cuisine and we were disappointed. She ordered the bang bang shrimp, they were not good. The shrimp are not real shrimp but frozen,prebreaded, and smothered in sauce. She asked for her money back. I would never eat here again. I hope they invest in quality ingredients. Sadly disappointed 😞😔😪😕.

The pad woonsen was tasteless, so was our T.C. Roll sushi and I ended up sick for 2 days after. My husband liked the Tom Kah soup. And the bubble tea was a treat. However, the bad outweighed the good, so we will no be back. And that makes me sad because we had high hopes for this place.

I ordered fried rice and chicken wings for my son and myself the wings were so little and the taste was nasty! We also had California rolls that were supermarket grade, my son had the orange chicken and hated it. I threw my food in the trash wasted $40 bucks.

Chicken was rubber. Barely cooked all the way through. The stuff from the frozen section at the grocery store is significantly better. The vegetables seemed fresh enough, but room temp vegetables on a hot plate was a bad contrast.

Fried appetizers were mediocre making them significantly overpriced.

Fried ice cream was a joke. A massive fried wad of chewing dough with cheap vanilla ice cream that was obviously freezer-burned.

If I had paid half what I did for the food it might have been understandable, but honestly I have never had food from a hole in the wall Asian carry-out that wasn’t at least 5 times as good as this place.

It's just overpriced cheap food. The quality of the sushi is similar to a supermarket. The other foods also taste very cheap. There are PLENTY of authentic Thai and Japanese places in Mobile, so opt for a better experience.
The bad taste honestly made my partner and I lose our appetites (we did not finish the meals).
That said, the employees are kind, and I do not blame them for the taste of the food they have to serve as directed.
