Classic stir-fries, curries & noodle dishes presented in a relaxed setting with contemporary decor.
We walked in to find a clean looking, peaceful restaurant. The menus were clean as were the tables. The booth seat was a little uncomfortable to me (back was too straight) so we opted to sit at a table. My only complaint was the floor was very sticky.
Our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient.
We ordered Thai coffee, crab wontons and vegetable rolls to start off with. The coffee was really good. Both appetizers were fresh and tasty. I didn't care for the sauce that came with them. Edible, but pretty bland.
Peter and I opted to share a vegetable medley stir fry, with chicken, and my son ordered pad Thai with glass noodles. Nathan said his meal was wonderful. The medley was good, nothing special.
Overall it was a nice meal and a pleasant experience. Cost was about $20/per.

I visited this restaurant about 30 minutes before closing, and I’m really glad they were able to accommodate me! I ordered the red curry, mango sticky rice, and crab Rangoon, and I have to say, all of the dishes were delicious. The flavors were vibrant and satisfying.
However, I do think the red curry could use a bit more chicken; it felt a little sparse in that department. Nonetheless, the overall experience was enjoyable, and I left satisfied.
I would definitely recommend this place and look forward to returning to try more of their menu!
I read the rave reviews and they were pretty consistent. Nice ambiance, friendly and attentive staff, very clean ( do you ever notice a strange , off-putting stench when you open the doors to a restaurant and you're greeted with the smell old, burnt grease or heavy bleach...those are immediate red flags to an operation with cleaningissues or worse, pests!), food that looked , smelled, and tasted delicious! Definitely, a must visit if you're in Newport News!
Rated it the way I did because a friend and myself traveled to come to this restaurant to find out they weren’t going to serve us. As we walked in, the sign said that they were opened until 2:30pm and we got there just after 1:00pm and we were approached by a worker letting us know that they were only taking to go orders. They had customers in the restaurant eating but she said that the kitchen was closed and she can only do take out orders. Very disappointed customers.
I had 2 stir fries both with chicken: kapao (sweet and spicy), and sweet and sour. The kapao was a little sweeter than I expected, and the sweet and sour was a little more sour than I would have liked. It's also just my preference, but I would have liked more vegetables and a little less chicken in both instances. Otherwise, the food was delicious and a good price. I'd love to return next time I'm in town.
Such a great Thai restaurant. I got drunken noodles witu tofu and some garden rolls in rice wraps. Both dishes were wonderful. The drunken noodles were the perfect balance of spicy and sweet. The service staff was very welcoming, attentive, and professional. The price was also very reasonable. The interior was decorated beautifully. There are several attractive paintings and a beautiful Buddha statue. If you're a vegan, there are so many options here. Highly recommended.
Authentic. Food and service both great! Will return.

Delicious
They have the very best food!!
We always enjoy Tida Thai. Our server Kayleigh did an excellent job

Oh my god ordered the red snapper it was like I was in heaven it was so fresh and with the ginger mushroom sauce made my day

Delicious Thai cuisine - so fresh and spicy
Love this place and will keep coming back
Very slow in service. Our food are cold already by the time they served. Clean place to eat . Most of the main dish are kinda salty.
One of best places I’ve been to.
Food is great go and check it out
Had spicy Drunken Noodles and some Garden Rolls.
Stir fry menu was awesome! Definitely recommend Ginger option!
Great food. Great prices. Diverse Thai menu.
We started going back here again after bit of a pause. Great food! Service is great and a very clean restaurant. This spot is close to our home and will keep returning.
My go to Thai place in Yorktown
Great food!
Wow, Awsome food! Had the Drunken noodles for the 1st time. The appitizer sampler was great. Can't wait to try more items the next time.
Wow. I travel all across the country for work and always try the local Thai restaurant. Tida Thai has the best wide rice noodles I have ever eaten, and they were absolutely delicious in a savory and aromatic Pad See Ew. The noodles were so light, fluffy, and stretchy. Note: Their spice scale is relatively less spicy compared to other Thai restaurants.
Nice place with easy to read menu. Owner run. Every kind of noodle, meat, veggies.
It hurts me to say this and I note the food is good, but the entrees (stir fried options) basically are 60% or more cooking oil. I took out the chicken and vegetables from my dish & the bowl contained what looked like a puddle of gasoline oil in a clear puddle. Just so oily.
I like the appetizers & I am sure anything non oil based is good, but I'm sick from that. I only mention this to provide others who think of thai as a healthier & clean option the input & then they can decide. The atmosphere is nice, service is good but I can't dismiss feeling sick from that.
We just happened to pick this Thai restaurant and it's now our favorite. The food tasted so fresh and authentic and it was definitely the best Thai that we have had in a long time! The crab ragoons, sweat and sour, and pineapple fried rice were the best!
The food here is the best Thai in the area. Service is always great 👍 and the ambiance is very cozy and elegant. Dinner for two, appetizer, salad, wine, 🍷 soup 🍲😋, rice 🍚 and dessert with ice cream came out to only $65. Cannot beat the prices. I'm used to paying triple that for a dinner out for two. Very happy customer! 😁
One of the best Thai places I have been to in usa. Papaya salad was as good as in far east. The green curry was right spicy, sweet and coconut flavour. The chicken ginger dish was very good too.
Amazing food and the service was great! Recommend if you enjoy Thai food

My favorite Thai Restaurant Impeccable flavors cleanliness and friendliness. Never had one complaint. Fine dining here for years. Exquisite
My very favorite Thai place....
Been going for years food never disappoints owners are amazing. Love the kapow and prik king
Amazing food! Great friendly staff!
This is a bit of a sad review to write. I’ve been coming here roughly since 2018/2019, I’d I’ve always thought of it as the best place in the 757 to go to. I’ve been to eat here over a hundred times or so over the years. They always had consistency in their food quality, and great service until recently. I believe the problem is they are overwhelmed with orders and understaffed. Recently, I mostly go during lunch time to pick up food and I always have to wait a while in line. But last time they messed up my order. I felt bad because I asked the guy to remake my drink multiple times (wrong order on them) and after it was correct I apologized to which he said nothing 😂. Anyways, I won’t be back here even though I would like to a couple weeks before I move. This place was good while it lasted before increasing popularity.

You must go!
Fantastic. First time trying this and it did not disappoint. Ordered on line for pickup and it was ready when we got there and piping hot when we got home. All 3 dishes cooked perfectly and very tasty. Will probably dine in next time as it looks like a nice relaxing place to enjoy a great meal!
Friendly staff, great atmosphere, and quick service!
My favorite Thai place in the area! I come almost weekly.
We stopped on our way through town. The melon and thai tea were delicious. We had the drunken noodles(ok) and the curry chicken(yummy) The atmosphere looked very nice but we didn't eat in the restaurant we took it to go and had a picnic. The staff was helpful. Highly recommend

Great food, excellent service. Visiting from West Palm Beach and wish we had one there.
This place is delicious! The Thai tea is the best in the area.
Quick service. Professional staff. Excellent food. It's one of our family's new favorite places now. Definitely going again.
100% my favorite Thai place....get the spicy fried trout
Excellent food with good size portio s
No comsints here, food was great, good portion sizes, atmosphere was good, waitress was very accommodating, would definitely recommend.
I was very happy on my first visit here; I enjoy Thai restaurants because it's easy to find wheat free menu items. The chicken Pad Thai that I ordered was perfect. The portion was generous bordering on almost too much. The service I received was very attentive. I should have ordered something more interesting than the Pad Thai but it just felt like a very basic day for me. I would gladly return to Tida Thai again.
Food is always fresh and delicious. The service is professional and fast. Portions are generous. This is one of our favorites for Thai!
Clean restaurant. Good music, thoughtful staff, and good portion size. Curry was fresh and flavors were well balanced. Papaya salad was yummy and Pad Thai was delicious and not greasy like I've seen at other places.
Very hospitable and friendly staff. I have gone here for years. Military serviceman owned, this is the Thai restaurant that I always go to.
Their quality has always been consistent and of the 5 or 6 Thai restaurants I've tried in Newport News and 2 I've tried in Hampton, I enjoy their food the most.
Definitely (at minimum) a must try if you enjoy Thai food or just good food in general. The Pad Thai or any curry is a safe bet if you are new to Thai food.
We enjoyed our meal. The food has really good flavors 😋 nice portion size. Good drinks.
Tom Yum Soup had oil at the top & gave me diarrhea, flavor was ok had only mushrooms & chicken... Chicken Pad Thai was ok, no bean sprouts. Good portions.
I gave 1 Star due to the portions being generous. This was the most bland Thai food I've ever had. Drunken noodles with tofu, had ZERO spice, noodles were overcooked, tofu was soggy and flavorless. Crab Rangoon were flat. The chicken pad thai had giant chunks of chicken (but still very little amount of chicken).
I literally had to add my own spice when I got home. Very unflavored and underwhelming. Would not eat here again.
First and foremost, it's definitely worth a visit. I ordered Thai Basil Chicken. I was torn between 4 or 5 stars. I went with 4 stars because of it needed more chicken and less rice. While the flavor was really good the dish was different than every other Thai restaurant I've ordered the dish... instead of serving the chicken/bell peppers/basil/sauce separately from the rice it was all mixed together. Serving it as they did, although great taste, the rice was very sticky because it absorbed all the sauce and it seemed like allot more rice and less chicken.
Great presentation and ambiance! Some seriously good food.
The staff was nice and attentive around 2:30 pm on Saturday. I ordered shrimp drunken noodles and fresh rolls. While the fresh rolls were really delicious but I was not pleased with the drunken noodles at all! There were enough noodles and there were chucks of goo (probably corn starch to thicken up the sauce) mixed into the sauce, made it taste the dish very old and very sweet. I think they were trying to save money by mixing in so much goo, instead of using the noodles. My friend got chicken green curry and crispy rolls. The crispy rolls were delicious but the chicken in green curry was really tough and dry and curry was overly sweet. I won't go back for sure.
Their drunken noodles are fantastic, but their fried tofu and masaman left a lot to be desired with the tofu being soggy and the masaman being under spiced for what's normally a heavily seasoned dish.
Excellent atmosphere and delicious (albeit a bit pricey)
The food is always delicious and the service is impeccable. Tony was our server and he did a fantastic job!
I just love the food here because it's always fresh and it's always good. You can't beat the fresh spring rolls! I have never had a bad experience personally and every time everything is delicious and made just right.
Such a great Thai restaurant. I got drunken noodles witu tofu and some garden rolls in rice wraps. Both dishes were wonderful. The drunken noodles were the perfect balance of spicy and sweet. yummy
Seems like they don't even know how to cook Thai food 😒
Good and fresh food great service and probably one of the most expensive but very strong long island drinks I've ever had, my drink was on point no doubt
Good food, large portions.
Still has great food and service.
First time here… wasn’t sure which milk tea to try the gentleman help me decide. In parking lot as I type. Got the crab meat fried rice. Great customer service. Food is absolutely delicious.. I will be back!!!
Feels like a hidden gem with some great food in it!
Great food, reasonable prices, good portions. The green curry was exactly what you expect. Hot 🔥 enough but not over the top. If you want to make your dish hotter they have the tray of Thai spices on standby. The place has many vegetarian options.
Love tida Thai 🤩
Good food
I ordered chicken fried rice, papaya salad and Pad Thai. Overall the meal was okay, it was aromatic and had some flavor. However, the noodles were slightly overcooked, the chicken pieces were cut large for both Pad Thai and fried rice, and the spiciness was nonexistent even though we asked for a 3 on a 1 to 5 scale with 5 being the spiciest. In spite of what I didn't like, I would try it again because it was tasteful.
Wonderful food atmosphe
Very good lots of vegan options.
AMAZINGG! The thai tea is so good, and i got the spicy fried rice and it was sooo good. 10000/10.
I came in with a baby waitress did not offer to give us a baby seat! Waitress did not offer or bring us water! She brought all the white customers water and also checked on them several times but not us! I am a famous singer was visiting Virginia! I am very well dressed, beautiful, with great manners! I also observed that another non white customer just got up and left! They also did not tell us bye like they did the white customers. I feel as tho they do not like people of color!
In terms of a surprise I’d say that this fits the bill. I’m not from the area but was in town for a wedding. In the mood for Thai I stopped here and was so impressed. The staff was kind and helpful. The food was incredibly good food. Flavor profile, heat, and even presentation kept your palette and other senses happy. I added the egg which was a nice touch on this dish. If back in the area I’d for sure return.
Service and food is excellent!!
Really nice food, great service, and clean and smells great inside.
Most bland pad thai I ever had
We drive past no less than 5 Thai restaurants to pick up food from Tida Thai instead. We really enjoy their food and love that every time we get take out, their time estimates for how long it will take are on point, the food is always hot and delicious.
We had an excellent meal. Since it was Sunday, it was all "Dinner" pricing but also dinner portions. Delicious flavors, fresh vegetables and the perfect spice.
Food and service was exceptional. The red curry with shrimp thst I had was wonderful and plentiful. Can't wait to go back.
Everything I've had there was delicious.
Long time favorite local Thai place. Have eaten the entire menu and comfortably reccomend it all. Love the Pad Thai also Drunken noodles. Curry dishes are also fantastic!
Amazing food. Absolutely loved the food, speed of service, and courteous service. I went by myself and had Pad Thai. For vegetarians, they don't put fish sauce in their dishes, I confirmed this. Thai Iced Tea was also great. Good portions and prices are fair. I ordered level 3 and it was spicy, for those who can't handle the spiciness, I'd go with level 1.
Tasteless
Truly the BEST Tai that I have ever had. Outstanding food!! Fresh, perfect combination of flavors. Meats are so tender! Excellent customer service
In from Michigan and I can see the restaurant from my hotel window. So I call and order my stand bye, Pad Cashew with chicken, medium spicy. Wasn't sure what to expect because Thai can be hit or miss.
Every aspect of my experience was awesome, from calling the order in to the last bite.
Everything looked fresh and tasted amazing. The portion size bordered on almost too much, there was tons of chicken, and did I mention that that taste was incredible?
It may spoil me for the places back home. At least for a little while.
Great dinner and good service. Love the presentation and overall value of the meal. If you are looking for Thai food in a quiet location, check them out.
Nice ambience. Pad woon sen and papaya salad was not among the best.
Picked this place because of the vicinity of where were driving. Would go back because of the quality of the meal. This place is a little on the expensive side but this is one of the few times I would say that the quality and quantity align with the cost. Highly recommended.
I sat for a very long time before finally a male waitress showed up. I don't remember ever having "bad" Thai food but this was only good and not fantastic like places like Langley thai. There are so many beter Thai restaurants in the area so I won't be back.
Thai rice with shrimp accompanied by a Thai coffee was perfect! Great portions!
Great takeout food (dine in also available) and friendly service.
Food was okay but not hot...However, I did not want to send the plate back to the kitchen. The plate wasn't even hot or warm to the touch.
Great service, professional atmosphere, and kind waiters. Along with it all, the food was the cherry on top.
Delicious Thai food! I especially love the Pad See Ew. This place is a hidden gem! Literally!
They have a lot of options for gluten free people and their Thai tea is on point!
First visit here, will go again. Pleasant dining experience.
After being gone for 5 years, I was glad to see that this restaurant had survived Covid. We were regulars. I hope now that they can bounce back as the quality of the meals are not what it used to be.
We love this restaurant. The food is amazing, the service is quick, and everyone is nice. In addition it is family friendly. I definitely recommend.
Simply AMAZING! Great food, excellent service and pretty drinks! The perfect place to wine and dine 💯💗
Great food, willing to go spicy. Beyond the normal “1-10” heat rating, they’ll bump up to a “15” or “20” for the adventurous. I found “11” with the beef prik khing to be perfect, but I do very much enjoy very spicy food. Singha on tap. Nicer inside than I expected. Prices are good for the quality. I’ll be back.
Good food and quiet dining area
Great Thai Fried Rice!
The Experience Had Me THAILAND 🇹🇭
Been to several Thai restaurants in this area and this is the closer taste to authentic Thai! I have been to Thailand several times, and it’s hard to find authentic taste, but this place is it. Will definitely come here and eat again. I screwed up and took pictures halfway through the meal, it was presented better than with the picture show but I could not control myself I had to eat.
The food here was excellent! Wait staff was very friendly and prices were reasonable.
Hands down my favorite authentic Thai restaurant, ever!
Very tasty!
Try the Coconut Lotus cookies.
This was our first time eating here and we were definitely not disappointed. The food was great, the wait staff was friendly and helpful and the tables were spaced out for comliance with social distancing protocols. Their pad thai was super good. It had a lot of peanut flavor but not enough to overpower the rest of the flavors. The cellophane noodles were absolutely perfect. They had a great flavor and they were cooked perfectly. Overall it was a great experience and the food was top notch. Definitely recommend stopping by.
Great food, good price and great service. The garden rolls and spicy mango with chicken were both amazing.
Great food and atmosphere
Easily my favorite Thai restaurant in Hampton roads. Always fresh and the perfect amount of spice. It’s flavorful, which a lot of other local places lack.
Best Drunken noodles & chicken in town!!!
So far the best tasting drunken noodles and pad Thai. Good balance of vegetables and meat. Friendly service. Everyone I have brought here agrees.
Excellent Pad Thai! The fellow, that I believe is the owner, relaxed the atmosphere after I stumbled over the menu as I am still very new to Thai food. He explained dishes in a very helpful manner. I'll definitely be back if I'm back in town. Thanks again!
Consistently good food and friendly service. My first choice for Thai food!
So yummy and very friendly I can't wait to go back the next time we visit Busch Gardens.
This was my first time visiting. I enjoyed the food very much! I really love the warmth and kindness The Host exuded to me! He was very busy as he was taking a lot of takeout orders. That's a good sign to me. :) If I had to suggest anything it would be to turn the heat on inside the establishment since I was dining in and I needed the waitress to come by again without me having to reach out for her. I would have loved some Chopsticks and some soy sauce as an offer but it's all good. I'm probably going back again! It seems to be a hit regardless!
I've eaten here several times over the past few years and have never had a bad meal or experience. It's my favorite choice for Thai food.
Been coming here for years and I really like this restaurant. They have the best Pad Thai and Green Curry I have ever had. The food is really good.
