The entry/restaurant area appeared clean. I did not use the restroom but saw a review that caused me to hesitate to use…however the food was ‘ok’. I can’t say it was terrible but it certainly wasn’t the best Thai I’ve eaten in Richmond! I will say, I was immediately grossed out when the server brought me a fork and spoon wrapped in a napkin that was wrapped with hair! I hate loose hair and that in itself almost caused me to walk out. I asked her to leave it on the table to be sure she didn’t just remove hair and return with the same fork/spoon napkin. Time constraint caused me to stay, plus I’ve eaten here before. Once again, I couldn’t recall the ‘flavor’ so I stayed to give the benefit of doubt! They will take away items you’re using while you eat….so be aware, hoard the ‘soy sauce’ packets if you use them until you are done with them. I can’t say they were attentive either, she came to fill water one time. However I observed the waitress go to the other tables several times to check on guests…but not my (single black lady) table. She only came once to fill water and take away soy packets that I was using. I had to wave down the waitress for my check, that is how inattentive they were to me. Nothing to do with language barrier, so I hope they don’t write that in their response because it would be untrue!
The drinks (water and soda) are served in plastic cups (I don’t mind that!) and you pay $3 for a bottled 16oz coke! No refill available! It wasn’t the best Thai I’ve eaten but it wasn’t the worst either! I can’t say I’ll be anxious to return.
We came in last minute but staff was very friendly and didn’t make us feel super rushed. I got the salmon bento which was 10/10! Came with miso soup, side salad, shrimp tempura and salmon with rice! Just the right portions! Flavor was very good! Rice was perfect :) definitely recommend if you love Thai food! My sister had the Thai iced coffee which was also very good! Atmosphere was very nice and friendly, booths were very comfy.
The food- by far the best Thai food in the Richmond area. Probably the top 5 Thai restaurants on Virginias eastern side up and down 95. As you can see the portion is huge and the taste is mind blowing.
What I don’t like is styrofoam cups, plastic cups and loud music. They have all 3, not a fan
Service was very friendly & very helpful (I'm pretty new to Thai food) & the food was soooo delicious! I got the a Thai Tea, Spicey Eggplant Jae & my boyfriend got the Drunken Noodle Jae, the flavor was amazing, no need to add anything & the Tofu was perrrfect! Can't wait to go again!
The food and staff are great - but the facility is absolutely filthy - plate glass windows are dingy - cobwebs, women's bathroom is nasty, floors are disgustingly dirty. The tables are spotless but the other areas look as if they've never been cleaned. But...the food is excellent! I'll be back - but hope the place has had a deep cleaning.
Waited 30 minutes for an online order of only Pad Thai that was suppose to be ready when I arrived. Even though they knew I was waiting they continued to make other Togo orders for people who were not there.
My brother and I (2 black men) walked in the resturant this evening and were greeted rudely with, "WHAT DO YOU WANT!?!?" as if we're causing her trouble. We politely said we would like to be seated for dinner and the lady rudely pointed 👉 at the booth. We sat down and an older lady came to our booth and rudely tossed the wrapped silverware on the table. We waited for a decent time and no one was polite to us and didn't even offer water. We felt like we were spoken to and treated like dogs🐕. We got up, left, and went next door to YaYas Cookbook and treated with respect and dignity. We arrived at 8:25pm and they close at 10:00pm.
I don't mind paying more at YaYas Cookbook because they treated us way better, like actual human beings.

Wonderful selection of Thai, Chinese, and Japanese dishes. I love their red curry.

Food is excellent. Great service. PLEASE do something about the music you play. It's truly obnoxious listening to rap music when you go to a Thai restaurant.
Delicious Thai food, inexpensive, comfortable and relaxing atmosphere.
I was there for lunch today, and it was delightful. The food was fresh and delicious, and the staff was king, friendly and helpful.

The food was not the quality i am used to. Especially for the price.

We ordered takeout from here for the first time in a while. The pad thai and drunken noodles were both good. We enjoyed the vegetable spring rolls as well.
Fresh and yumm
My food was decent but my girlfriend’s was not. The food came out quickly but was bland. I mean, maybe I’ve been spoiled by the good Thai food in Atlanta. The place is dirty, standing water I. The bathroom. Probably won’t go back.
Food tasted fine but 4 hours later I developed awful food poisoning that I almost needed to be hospitalized. I did notice that the restaurant is not very sanitary and clean inside (dirty rugs, dusty, cluttered ect) . Might want to take note of this before choosing to eat here.
Food Poisoned.
Ordered a handful of smaller items to munch on (fresh roll, 2 sushi roll, crab rangoon, mango sticky rice) with my roommate for an early dinner… and we both woke up 12hrs later throwing our guts up. Not fun.
Me and my friends were coming from regal and they closed the doors on us. Idk know why but before the timings closing thing they still closed it in our face. They my boy Josh told us to go to Burger King but wouldn’t recommend that either
i had the pad thai which was good and the green tea latte with boba, which was not. the pad thai came with a very big portion and was pretty good. the green tea latte with the boba was bad. it was a majority milk and wasn’t good. i tried to return it after drinking 2-3 small sips, but i was only able to get half of my money back. overall, i would probably be back to get the moderately priced pad thai again.
Really great place
Amazing service and food 😊❤️
Great food, service and atmosphere. Definitely a repeat customer.
I’ve gone to this location several times for a couple years now. I have no big complaints about the food. I always take out for convenience, so I don’t have any expectations as far as customer service goes: that being said, I don’t think I’ve ever had a pleasant experience. I’m never acknowledged and too many times has another customer walked in *after* me and is serviced first. I’ve given more than enough chances. To continue doing business with an establishment that consistently makes me feel like a second class citizen, is foolish on my part so I’m ending it here.
One of the best places for Wonton Soup in Richmond, unlike most Chinese places soup is very flavorful and the wontons are meaty without to much dough. Curries are also fantastic, you can't go wrong with any of them. Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles are also very good but be warned the drunken noodles are unusually spicy, not a problem for me but a little to hot for my wife. The Pad Prik Pao, one of my favorites is good but would be excellent with a little less fish sauce, it's not to much to make it a deal breaker, but it is a little more noticeable in the dish than I personally like. They also don't offer a lunch menu, however the prices are very reasonable. Our other favorite Thai place, Thai Flavor just got to expensive with lunch on Saturday costing $15.00 more for the exact same meal. Service is good but most servers don't speak enough English to ask questions concerning the menu not a problem if you are already familiar with Thai Cuisine but could be an issue for some. Another ding is the cleanliness of the bathrooms, which is not unique to this place as most Asian places struggle with this to some extent.
Christmas day dinner. One waitress and one cook made for an extended wait, but we were just happy to be there. Dinner was excellent.
Food was OK. Good sushi
Excellent wait staff. Very accommodating.
Back room was freezing. Terrible draft from the (old) exhaust system.
Easy to park.
Loved it so much we went two days in a row! Their drunken noodles are super good, and I am a bit of a noodle snob... Just the right consistency of chewiness. Tofu was also well flavored and not over-fried. Excellent portions and more affordable than other Thai restaurants in area. Will be coming back anytime we are in town.
Delicious food I has and Yummy Yummy 😋😋😋😋🤤🤤😘😘🥰🥰
The soup smelled awful. Bathrooms were filthy. Don't go!
Elephant name pickle
Service was very friendly & very helpful (I'm pretty new to Thai food) & the food was soooo delicious! I got the a Thai Tea, Spicey Eggplant Jae & my boyfriend got the Drunken Noodle Jae, the flavor was amazing, no need to add anything & the Tofu was perrrfect! Can't wait to go again!
#1 Thai place for us and great for deliver at home. Listen to #Boomtown Richmond on FM 101.7 and get a coupon for this great restaurant. Tell them Top Dog sent you.
I have been craving the som tham with crab from home. Hit the spot.

What I don’t like is styrofoam cups, plastic cups and loud music. They have all 3, not a fan
They serve food in dishes but you eat on paper plates & drink from plastic cups. Thai Curry is ok but you’ll wait for drink refills. Staff was ‘nice’ but not skilled. Gen Tso’s Chicken was terrible, the sauce was jelly-like as if sitting on a low-end buffet for hours and the chicken in it was like that from a frozen dinner. It was more like a microwavable Sweet & Sour Chicken TV dinner. Horrible lighting and vibe. Bad Asian music playing. Felt like it should be in a dead strip mall. Steady flow of people coming in for takeout. I guess we get used to anything or don’t know better.
I would give a 0 star, I asked the curry to be mild however, the curry was super spicy. When I asked to make it mild I was told “I told Kitchen to make it mild, maybe our mild is spicy for you.”
They should have told me that this curry can’t be made mild.
One of the best green curries in town! Will definitely be coming back
They have work to do, both on the service side and food. My wife and I ordered pineapple fried rice. The meat was overcooked, couldn’t chew it. And went overboard with curry seasoning. I ordered a beer, and I was told they could not sell it to me because the bartender was underage.
I would have given more stars based on food alone but taking an average on customer service - I sadly have to reduce my rating to a 2 star. Primarily because there is no namaste, no gratitude towards faithful customers, loss of face to me. I am truly disappointed.
I relocated to a county nearby - about an hour from here - this is the closest Thai restaurant that prepared my tofu exactly how I love it. Reminds me of my neighborhood Thai restaurant back home. I thought I found a Thai restaurant that I loved! My favorite: fried tofu extra crispy - done just like my hometown Thai spot. My husband often jokes about how I have spent thousands on tofu at my previous location and wondering how much I will spend at Elephant Thai Short Pump. I was shocked and amazed to find one remotely close to preparing the tofu like I love when asked - at least for a little while - that was short lived.
BUT the major drawback is that this is the ONLY Thai restaurant that I’ve ever visited that had rude carry out service. Their dine in service was good the one or 2 times I ate in house. Usually I carry out.
I overlooked their rudeness because some people there were very kind and they fried my tofu well.
I have to now give a 2 star review because they messed up my last order and were aloof about it.
I had my daughter take it back inside once she brought it to me it because it was brick hard -it was inedible. They told her that I should not have ordered it like I always ask for - then it would not be hard. To me that’s like ordering a well done steak but if they burn it - you should not have ordered well done. It is not edible! They also said they used a different tofu with a different consistency/texture so it did not cook the same. If I am a regular and they know this - and I order the same thing every time - why not tell me if you know my order will not be as before. Why cast blame on me? I came to enjoy my food and spend my money - not to return my food and waste time and money.
I simply wanted to return my order or a have it fixed but because it was late -I told her they can even keep the money. I just can’t eat it. I will try another night. But a gentleman gave my daughter the order and the money back. But the food I could not eat for fear of breaking my teeth. They told her that I should not have ordered it extra crispy as I do every time without a problem like this before.
So I gave them another chance tonight since my family and I are moving away again. I wanted one last dish to accompany my farewell dinner, but they refused my simple regular order. I was about to order other items towards our dinner as well but once my regular tofu was refused, I did not want to waste my time nor energy on anything else. I was told the owner said they cannot take my order. So I will take my money elsewhere.
Any other restaurant, if an order is incorrect, will honor their faithful regulars, take responsibility for an error, and simply return or fix the order. I did not hold a grudge for their mistake yet they hold one because something was not prepared well. What’s amazing is that I am not even argumentive nor difficult. I quite often ignore their occasional rudeness and moodiness. I was surprised by it actually. Every time I visit, I am travelling for over an hour away - they never knew it. I’m sorry I spent the first nickel with them. No namaste, loss of face to me. Oh well. It’s sad.
Great Thai Food at great price.
Good food
I ordered the duck basil dish and it was great. The food is above average but the service needs some improvement.
They serve my dish first without my friend's. This is such a rookie mistake since we all know the entrees should be served at the same time. We have to wait for another 10 minutes for my friend's dish to be served for us to enjoy together, and my dish has been cold since then.
When we are almost done, they handed us the check asking us to pay whenever. Initially we planned to order dessert but we decided not to since the check is here and they seem busy. Just some missed opportunities here and there.
Food was pretty good. Server had an attitude.
Mediocre.. I can cook better If you are Asian stay away you will not like it.
The lady that works at front desk of this restaurant has no business attending to customers. She is very rude and disrespectful. After waiting for an hour to get my order, I had to cancel.
Everything we ordered was marvelous! Would highly recommend
Really Really bad food, food tastes extremely old, really bad for your health.
I've been to this location multiple times: 20 minutes for takeout and the food is delicious! Rich, flavorful, great portion size. I usually get the Green Curry (mild spice is still nice and hot!), Panang Curry, and Chicken Satay with extra peanut sauce to add to the flavor of the Panang. 10/10 reccommend!
A nice little spot in Short Pump for a healthy lunch.
Very disappointed in this place. I’m traveling for work and was craving Thai food. When I walked in the personnel behind the counter acted like she didn’t want to seat me. Then she said to go sit at a corner table. I asked her if I can sit somewhere else her expression was of inconvenience. Then when she brought my menu she said it will be 30-40min before I got my food that they are really busy!!!! Ummm it was only 6 tables filled and everyone had their food 🤔 it was obvious they didn’t want to serve me, so I left. This place is not recommended for customer service…….
4.5 stars - The takeout food was attractive and tasty, as well as well-packaged/secure. I had green curry with shrimp. I usually get American hot at the other 3 Thai restaurants I go to frequently, but I chose to go with medium just in case since I haven't eaten here before and planned to add hot chili oil at home if needed. Well, it was NOT needed. That was the hottest Thai medium green curry I've have ever had, and I've had a lot. Very tasty but hotter than I prefer while graded less spicy than I typically order. The papaya salad (pictured) is lovely. Refreshingly tart plus spicy. Very nice. The one traditional sushi roll I ordered was PERECT. Miso soup was very good. I'd definitely go again and would be willing to try other dishes. I recommend caution with the level of spicy. If my experience is an indication of the typical spice level here, I would downgrade my spicy level on all future orders.
Great food and a wide selection. Staff are really polite and hardworking.
Didn’t enjoy this food at all. I’m from the Virginia Beach area and we were looking for a good Thai spot. Saw it had 4 stars and decided to try it. My vibes for the restaurant fell when I ordered a dish and asked for 2 proteins for my pad see eaw. Was told I can only do 1 protein and just add another 1… I said that’s exactly the same thing I asked…. Everything I asked for I was told there was an extra charge like I didn’t have any money. It really got annoying. Got my pad see eaw and it was loaded with straight soy sauce. Overly salted. All I tasted was soy sauce. Wife got the soft shell crab with garlic and it very soggy when they plated it with tons of sauce when description doesn’t say any sauce. Took 2 bites out of both our plates and they asked if we wanted boxes we declined. Never asked why we didn’t touch their food. We spent almost $100 for 2 adults and a kid and we were served paper plates. I felt like I was at an aunties birthday party.
I would recommend this place slow down. They have too many items on the menu. You are listed as a “Thai” restaurant and you are serving “sushi” and “ramen”. I get you want to cover more demographics, but when you make things not so distasteful so you can make more styles of cooking and try to make more money is unacceptable. These food items are not “Thai”. If I wanted a plethora of random Asian dishes I would have hit a Buffett.
My wife and ordered takeout at this location. When we went to pay for our food using a gift card we received, we were told that we couldn’t use the gift cards because they were purchased at their ‘Willow Lawn’ location. I inquired prior to placing my order if I could use the gift cards and I was told that I could. Additionally, they confirmed that the restaurants are the exact same company but apparently because they have different management at the other location, it cannot be used there….my order was also incorrect upon pickup.
I ordered crispy chicken on Sunday. It was sweet and the chicken was raw.. this restaurant had always been so-so in my opinion but after eating this, this will definitely be my last time
Great food! Wonderful heat and flavor. Had the gyoza and Kapow Jae with a thai iced coffee. Went with family and everyone's dish was great.
I will never order from here again. Poor customer service
My friend and i had a pretty awful experience here tonight from the service at the beginning to the food. We both have gone here a few times before and enjoyed it, but today just wasn’t it. The boba was hard and hot, fresh rolls were very bland with some very watery hoisin sauce and the soup I got while supposed to be spicy chicken tasted like rotted fish and just heat. My friends soup didn’t fair any better and was just very fatty/bland. Maybe it was an off day, but I am pretty disappointed. The other server tried to offer something else, but my hunger had already vanished, so we just paid and left. I can’t say that I will return here.
Food was good. They can get slammed so plan accordingly.
Even though they forgot to place my order I was given a 50% credit for the inconvenience.
Yum. Crispy pork, BBQ pork, fried rice, milk tea! Nice portion sizes. As Arnold says: "I'll be back"
Yuck. Just had pad thai, gyoza, and spring rolls delivered. The meat inside the gyoza is weird. I think it was chicken, but it could have been pork. It tasted very left-overish, and the sauce was sweet and sour, which is definitely not a good choice with gyoza. The spring rolls were okay and also served with sweet and sour sauce. The pad thai was meh. Not recommended at all.
Drunken noodles...was skeptical from recent reviews but don't know what their problem was cause my noodles were excellent...look... flavor... quantity. Even better the next day from leftovers....I will drive all the way back there to get the flavor I'm looking for cause everyone can't make it....oh but this place can😋
Honestly, a poor experience overall. Windows and bathrooms were dirty, visually off-putting. Spring rolls were made earlier, hard on the edges, not served at same time as the other appetizer, ordered by my guest. Not a fan of the distinct "fish paste used on almost everything", according to server. It made the food smell bad, realizing my culinary ignorance, there still should be transparency about this distinctive, over-powering flavor and smell. Finally, it was pricey for the venue. Will not go back.
It's not often I rate 2 stars, but in my opinion this restaurant deserves it. Personally, my experience was not the best. The soft summer rolls are my "to go" appetizers. Unfortunately, they added a huge cilantro leaf in it giving it an odd flavor, and the rolls were FILLED with lettuce. I'm talking 95% lettuce with a little bit of shredded carrots and cilantro. I ordered the Pad Thai and it just went south from there. The smell of the food was atrocious. I tried to eat it but the smell went into my mouth and literally made me gag. I've eaten Pad Thai many times from many different restaurants. Perhaps they put too much fish oil in it. I asked the waitress to take it back and that I wanted a different entree. She took it, then started talking about me to her coworker (I know that because they kept looking back at my table and would proceed to talk more). Moments later she went back into the kitchen and started yelling in the back. I swear, I'm not making this up. The waitress came back and told me that I would still have to PAY for my Pad Thai even though I only took one bite of it. Poor customer service. Just poor experience overall.
Awesome service! They are always very sweet!
Sorry. Respecting overall restaurant struggles in this Era, I have to go low here, in terms of a rating. We have ordered here more than once, so this review isn't based on a knee jerk reaction.
There is no passion in this food. Quantities were meager. How can you describe a dish as 'with broccoli ', when there were 3-4 green 'things' present, and at least 2 of them weren't actually broccoli.
Also, the pork was dry and on another dish, the spring rolls were smaller than my thumb.
I understand food cost and would like 2-3 dollars worth of actual food in my entree.
I am deleting the App and ain't goin back.
It's a shame how barely mediocre passes for good, or even OK.
Adding one star for decent flavor.
Food is fine, but the serving sizes for some items is RIDICULOUS and not at all worth the price. I ordered mango ice cream and got the smallest scoop ever for $6. I could have gotten a freakin' PINT of Ben & Jerry's for that price and gotten 6x more! And when you call the restaurant, the response is, "What do you want me to do about it?" Even before they knew I ordered through UberEats. And UberEats basically said, 'yeah, sorry. Not gonna help you with this, better luck next time.' Though that time, I paraphrased. So just keep in mind that this is what $6 of ice cream looks like to Elephant Thai's employees.
They want to charge me for ginger and wasabi on the side of my food which is ridiculous. That's like saying I'm gonna charge you for katchup. Never coming back.
Edit: I complained to the manager and they ended up not charging me and was very nice about it. But the girl who waited on me first is very rude. I think her name is Bumm( that's what was in the receipt). I don't want her to ever wait on me again. All the other servers and the managers are really nice.
Wonderful experience. Reasonably priced, fresh, delicious food and great service. They take COVID very seriously as evidenced by the hand sanitizer on the tables, plastic ware, as well as bottles of water in place of cups. As a bonus, the restaurant is super cute and serves alcoholic beverages.
Very good food, would recommend to do take out over eat in.
My family are regulars at this local Thai restaurant. We love the food and find the staff friendly. My only complaint is the persistent foam cups and plastic forks during the pandemic. It is not fun to eat dinner from a plastic fork, and I find myself becoming increasingly irritated every time I come. I’m confident the dishwasher will sanitize everything properly. I’m begging, please bring out the real dishes!
Great customer service and fresh dishes. Just pricey.
Amazing service and food especially for vegan friendly customers. Stop sleepin on Elephant Thai cause I definitely was until now!!! 😴😱
Our favorite place! The Pad Thai Jae is excellent.
The staff was super nice and super helpful. I ordered the wrong thing and they fixed it no problem. Thank you for being so nice and great customer services :)
Ate here a couple of times before and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Went yesterday 7/12/2021 and had to be hospitalized within two hours of finishing my meal because of a severe case of food poisoning which caused me to become so violently ill that my blood pressure dropped rapidly and I lost consciousness. Someone less strong may not have survived that. I love the food at Elephant Thai, but health and cleanliness should never ever be compromised. This restaurant should be temporarily shut down and inspected before anyone else is served.
Honestly some of the worst Thai food I've ever had. Had it a couple years ago and gave it 3 stars, so I decided to give it another shot and now I'm lowering it to 1 star. Much better options around the area.
This place is in my wife's top 5 fave restaurants.
Used to be good couple years ago but the food I've picked up lately have been so inconsistent and couple times it was downright inedible, tasted old and mushy...
If you love Thai Food💕 You must come here 🌸 Food is plentiful and affordable💕
I love Elephant Sushi Roll and Fried rice here💕
Everyone goto Elephant Thai Restaurant in Short Pump!!! It is so good! I ordered the fried rice with lobster and it tasted amazing and the presentation was incredible! Everyone who works there is also very nice!
The staff couldn’t be nicer or more accommodating! I had a couple unusual requests and they rolled with it and it was all delicious!! Pad See Ew, Chicken Pineapple Fried Rice, and Jasmine Tea w/Boba. All for a great price! Thank you for a yummy lunch!
Best Thai Pork fried rice!!!
Never had Thai food before until this experience. It was HFS good!!!!
Elephant Thai in Short Pump sold me a Dr. Pepper that expired June 01, 2020. I called to make them aware and their response was that they didn’t have time to check the dates. So, you’re telling me you’re not checking your product regularly and just selling expired things to your customers. Please do better!
Very good food. I like the reward system too
I ordered a dinner with three pieces of tofu. I asked for more. Waitress came back and told me that the chef had put FIVE pieces of tofu. I told her there were three. Waitress come back and insists there were five pieces of tofu. At this point idgaf as I just want more tofu and I’ll pay for it. The extra tofu was only 1.50....they really nickeled and dimed me for that much? Don’t come here. This isnt Thai food. The quality is more like garbage food.
Food wasn’t bad have had better Thai but we sat in a booth and the wall was a mess with what looked like splatter. Place was not up to par with its cleanliness. Actually thankful they serve bottled water not from tap. Won’t go back
Came to pickup the order and cancelled the order as soon as I saw the mess. They had random boxes inventory and paperwork laying everywhere. Also the ladies working at the front were very unfriendly.
If these guys can't keep the front end clean and presentable then imagine how gross the kitchen is. I'm not sure how they are passing the health department checks.
The place is a mess and looks very unkempt/ghetto. Def won't be order again no matter the taste.
Currently sitting and eating in here, the waitress even don’t check on us but she checks another table!! A place with terrible terrible service, I would give 0 start If I could, I will never coming back to here anymore and won’t recommend this place to my family and friends
Very covid friendly and clean. Service was fast and the food was great!
Loved the food, excellent service.
Love this place! Food is always excellent. Great service and sooo good. All of their dishes are very nice!
Very friendly service, super delicious food! Will definitely be coming back to try more
The food is great but they need to keep up with cleaning. There was a lot of dust and cobwebs.
Ordered for delivery. Delivery was prompt but the food was not so great. Ordered the emerald salmon curry, and the curry portion was small, and the salmon only grilled, with no flavor! The fried fish had no flavor, Noodles were white and also with no taste. Left a bitter taste in the mouth. Disappointed.
Good place to visit .. food was good .. ambience could be better but overall nice place to visit ..
Great place for cuisine!!
What we ordered, as described on the menu with ingredients and quantity, didn't match what arrived. Tried to explain this to the staff and they didn't understand the issue or fix the orders. Pad thai was tasty. Vegetarian dishes being replaced by octopus and clams wasn't.
Truly wanted to love this restaurant because of it’s location, however it was a sad experience. No worse feeling than expecting tasty Thai food to be disappointed with over cooked salmon and tasteless calamari. A couple things were tasty, the ginger salad and Tom kha soup. Just wish the cook paid more attention to his food.
This and the other Elephant Thai locations are some of the best Thai restaurants in Richmond. Consistently delicious. Love their mock duck dishes.
Great food!! Love it!
I have to give it four stars. My usual is amazing but y’all still need to work on your milk tea and boba 😢 the milk tea is kinda watery and the boba is kinda hard in the middle always
Friendly waitress..The bubble tea was the best I had in Richmond thank you for the great service
Better! I would have given 1 star a year ago. I've been here a few times because the Groupon deal is so good. Looks like they're working on cleaning up and sprucing up a bit. The food is good, it just that it always feels a little dirty in there. Service is confusing and not very organized. I get approached by multiple people and they're always surprised that someone is already taking care of us.
I’ve been here a number of times. But I rarely come to the shortpump location, and this time round they gave me an iced glass with my Singh’s. I wish more Richmond establishments would make that par for the course when they serve beer.
Amazing thai cuisine and great service. My favorite are the pad thai and thai milk tea. The best thai restaurant in the area.
One of the worst service ever received from a restaurant. Everytime, Ive visiter the restaurant or had delivery from there. The customer service has been poor. I try to overlook it thinking maybe it’s just a language or cultural barrier but rude attitude and behavior is rude no matter what language is spoken. They have trouble figuring out their Apple Pay system even though it is fully operational. They expect the customer to wait significant amount even when an alternative means of payment is offered by the customer. They always expect a tip and when they deliver food and I want to offer them a tip, if I ask for change they catch the worst attitude even. One even ask me when did you ask for change when you placed the order. Little did she know, I was planning on giving her a more generous tip as I know they would prefer, but can’t do that if she does not have change. Frankly they have been rude to the point that I would be surprised if there is an element of racial discrimination at play. Beware if this place. I don’t plan on ever going there again and hope others take these reviews seriously. Complaining to the manager doesn’t always help. When I asked for the manager in person, the lady who speaks the most English came and was helpful. After that during a delivery order, they refused to put the manager on the phone and pretended, they no longer delivered in my area when they were just there and the food had already been ordered. Some of the worst one either speak or act as if they speak and poorly understand English. When asked for their name, I also believe they make them up. I was told I spoke with a person name Ueat and Banks. Someone needs to conduct anonymous site visits and have a conversation with the responsibilities parties, owners or leadership of this restaurant. They definitely lost my business!
Good food. Pleasant atmosphere. Well priced
The women are so beautiful and the food taste good.
All of the food was great. The pad Thai was some of the best I have had
Four stars for service... Four to five stars for price...Three stars for my food. Drunken noodle and paitai are four stars...
Love their soft shell crabs with ginger sauce, crispy duck with chili sauce and appetizers.
Delicious food and excellent service
Great
Elephant Thai is the one of the good thai restaurants till now in my list. Food was really taste and hot, i loved everytime when i used to go.
Good food and service
Good food
The food we ordered tasted as though it came from the freezer. I will never go back there.
Overall good experience. Drunken noodles was good, green thai curry was okay and the coconut frappe was the show topper. The attitude of the one of the server was so bad. She was literally ignoring us upon asking her to change wrongly placed order. One more Vegetarian friendly place. I’ll Never come back again at this place.
Poor service! Tried to make an order and was hung up on twice!!! Trash!!!! Find another establishment that respects you and your money!
Food is always served quickly and is delicious!
Not as good as other Thai restaurants in the town.
The food here is great! They have the best Thai iced coffee and crab rangoon that I have tried in the Richmond area. The bathrooms are clean, and the atmosphere is peaceful.
So so good ! I ordered fried wonton which was amazing and Pad See Eaw with chicken! The service was great and the price was good for the great quality of food
Awesome food, great service!!!
(First time patron):
DELICIOUS! I ordered crab and shrimp rice and a tom yum kha. The rice had meat in every bite (with REAL lump crab). I can really appreciate the satisfying portions. Also, the subtle details matter ie the carrots are chopped in small bits in my rice so to not overdo the dish but still keep its nutritious value. I would recommend this location for dine-in food; the service was attentive given the restaurant was vacant. (I am usually weary of tha it but I was craving Thai). Will likely return for other menu items the next time I am in Short Pump.
Absolutely to die for red curry with chicken.
Yuck
I got their meal deal on groupon and came here for the first time. The food was below average compared to other Thai Restaurants in the area. I and my friend ordered the drunken noodles which turned out to be too sweet and oily, the other beef dish was chewy. The customer service was not pleasant. The waitress checked on other tables, but not ours. Just to mention that we came around 2pm so it clearly wasn’t busy for them. Would bot recommend this place to anyone.
Food is fantastic!
Ordered from door dash, food was good and flavorful but my veggie curry platter had no tofu in it as advertised. Disappointed but the food was otherwise good.
