Thai and Japanese Restaurant
The staff are AMAZING here! They have great hospitality and are very professional. The sushi was great and the Thai dishes were too. When you come here, you HAVE to get the Thai tea float. This place’s Thai tea float is very unique and is a delicious desert. I also like how they styled the interior.
The thai food here is decent but the portion sizes are a little small. The sushi seems to be of good quality but the rolls are all very similar to each other and not fantastic, in all. Service inside is super slow, they seem understaffed. Very kind people working there, though.
I was a little irritated to find this after paying, though. 4% fee on credit cards. Not totally unusual but a higher percentage than I've seen before. And hidden under the receipt.
This is our family’s favorite restaurant in local area.
Every thing they make is fresh not store bought.
Try the freshly made spring rolls and then one of many spicy tuna rolls. The Mexican Roll is my favorite. One of the pictures attached show the new Crispy Salmon Roll.
My family also loves the Pai Tai and Sweet and Sour Chicken.
The owners and staff are amazing and so welcoming!
Review for Thai food only: This restaurant is consistently delicious. Sassy shrimp, pad prik king, Tom yum noodle soup, drunken noodle, pad see ew, red curry are some of our faces. One request - Make the curry puff special a regular menu item!
Their food is amazing, we truly enjoy our meal every time we order!
Delicious food, reasonably priced, wonderful team, great service, gluten free friendly!
OMG!!! I came to this lovely place last night all because I wanted some soup and I am glad that I did come to this place. The food is amazing and the staff is super sweet. I will become a regular customer. I'm going back again today for lunch.
Cousin made a better noodle dish at home. Sticky rice dessert was good and Thai tea was really good also

Had lunch here while visiting the area and really enjoyed it. Great flavors and great service.
Best panang curry in the dmv! Their chives dumplings were also to die for
The food was awesome and staff were friendly. Great option!
My order took forever I had to cancel it, they were not that busy, they kept telling me it will be ready in five minutes after waiting for more than 30 minutes I was told that they still working on it, I asked for my order to be canceled. Really disappointed in the service

I'm really impressed with this restaurant, we usually order once a week but today they went above and beyond to get me my order at an awkward time between afternoon closing and evening opening, with the manager delivering the food herself! She even called on arrival to let me know she was there... And the food! Absolutely outstanding. The thai green curry is so flavoursome, you could drink the sauce! And then their sushi! Fresh, original and delicious everytime. I cannot recommend them enough. Even my toddler twins always ask for Jeffery rice!
Ordered the fried wonton appetizer with minced pork, minced pork was barely there. For $7 you need to put more meat inside the wontons. Extremely disappointed
Had a wonderful dinner here while visiting from out of town. I forgot to ask for names, but the lady I spoke with was so kind and we chatted about their business, how long they had been there, and more. I am from this area originally, but had never heard of this restaurant since I moved away. I got a good vibe before any food had been ordered or served. The interior of the restaurant is decorated beautifully and very clean. I think this building used to hold either a Pier 1 or a Tuesday Morning store back when I lived here.
I tried the Gyoza and Drunken Noodle, both were fantastic!! The pot stickers were right up there with the best - perfectly fried but not greasy, with a bubbly crispy exterior. They serve a special soy gyoza sauce that is very thick and delicious, you can drizzle it on the pot stickers and it sticks to them really well.
The Drunken Noodle was by far the best version of this dish I have ever had, no question about it! I am no expert on Thai food, far from it, but I know what tastes good! My cousin also noted that they dont "fluff up" the food with lettuce underneath or anything like that, I reckon it was close to 2 pounds of noodles, veggies, and chicken!! We both had lots to take home! I ordered it with their default spicy level for this dish (medium), and I considered it perfect. The spice was on point, but did not overpower the sweet and delicious notes of the rest of the dish.
I will probably visit here every time I'm in from out of town from now on. The kind woman I mentioned earlier was very thoughtful and gave me menus to take home to my parents. I told her they can't handle spicy, and she was so understanding and said that they would make dishes non-spicy for them.
This restaurant has a wonderful welcoming atmosphere, kind and thoughtful people who work here, and the best Thai food I've ever had personally. I am looking forward to trying their extensive sushi menu as well! Thank you!
Horrible service overshadowed the good food. Despite good quality food, not likely to revisit.
I came here to order sushi, but when I saw their sushi prices, I decided to just order something off their Thai menu.
Most Sushi restaurants I’ve been to only charge between 5 or 6 dollars for a tuna avocado roll. It’s a very basic roll but this restaurant charged almost 8 dollars for such a basic roll. All of their sushi was overpriced and not worth it.
The Thai food I ordered was pretty basic. It was just Eggplant with tofu, but it wasn’t spicy at all and there was very little sauce with this dish. I had to ask for a spice tray and even their spice tray Really didn’t add that much spice to the dish. This wasn’t the worst food that I’ve had, but there was nothing impressive about it. The decor of the restaurant needed major upgrades. This restaurant wasn’t horrible, but it’s not worth going to again.
We ordered delivery for the first time to tonight, sushi and one that dish. We live less than 5 miles and it's been nearly an hour and 30 minutes.... still no food. I'm not sure I'd order again just based on this....
Absolutely gorgeous place with exquisite food. I would come and eat here daily if I could! You won't regret it!
태국음식 치고는 맛이 괜찮음
Good food .. Pleasant staff
Amazing experience here no matter if we decide to dine in or take out. We live less than a mile from the restaurant and often grab dinner here. We decided to go dine in for the first time with some friends we hadn’t seen in a while. They were so nice and accommodating. The food as always was phenomenal and they even offered us a complimentary dessert before we left. They have wonderful dishes, sushi and drinks. The food is superb and the service is stellar.
Delicious and flavorful. Great service too
Our favorite Thai place in the area. Food is amazing and they have a dedicated vegetarian menu as well!!
The food is so good here. Duck curry, Drunken noodles, Pad Thai and sushi are my favorite things to order. The husband and wife who own it pour all their energy into this restaurant and it shows. This is a great family business to support!
Review was good, so I was really excited about it but food was too sweet and too salty. Worst Thai food I ever had.and don’t order sushi ,I had a rolls and worst experience ever.
I love this Thai restaurant and sushi by far. Service is the best family owned and friendly.
Everything about our experience with Khao Hom Thai & Sushi was wonderful! Recently, I pre-ordered a lunch for (20) people. Kim, the manager, was incredible helpful. She is a real gem. Food was on-time and delicious. They went the extra mile for us! Everyone absolutely raved about their food! Highly recommend!
Very good food. Taste and service are extremely good. Cost is a little expensive but just remember that you're in Fairfax!
Terrific Sushi and presentation of the rolls!!!
Ok nothing special
Food tastes so good & owner Kim is very sweet ~
Very authentic Thai food restaurant! Definitely one of the better options in the area for Thai food, and they are very accommodating to dietary restrictions. I would give the sushi 3.5 stars - it's very good but I wouldn't come here for the sushi alone. The Thai food is 💯.
Love the sushi!
Love this little gem. Whenever I have dentist appointments that I'm in the Burke area for, I love stopping here for lunch. Good portions, awesome customer service. Been enough times that one of the servers recognizes us are regulars.
Perfect place with great staff. Food was excellent and will definitely return.
Food was very good, I had the crispy duck. Friendly service. Good experience.
We love the Thai food here!
Respectfully: It seems that online menu management is becoming difficult for many restaurants recently. It is important that all restaurant staff are aware of any discrepancies between printed and online menus. Online menu prices should be honored if ordered over the phone. Also, menu items should be the same description as much as possible. Does Kia Gai Noodle have sriracha sauce or sweet chili sauce?
Enjoy 😉
Good but not worth the wait. They gave me a 40 minute estimate to pick up and I’ve been waiting an additional 55 minutes since then. The poor waitress is physically running. They need to stop taking orders or give people a more realistic time for pick up. I value my time too much to come back here. And insult to injury they left out part of my order.
Really great sushi and the spring rolls are like no other.
Solid tasty thai in a low key environment
Delicious! We are very picky about our Thai food as we expect authentic food after visiting Thailand multiple times. We tried several dishes that were very good to include amazing panang curry. We also enjoyed the sushi rolls!
First time going here! Great food and atmosphere! Kind of like the fact that not many people know about this place. Keeps it from being too crowded. We Will definitely go back!! Prices were definitely reasonable. Ginger stir fry with chicken was awesome!!
This is our favorite Thai place in town. We order from here anytime people cover to visit or special occasions. For Pad Thai and basil fried rice it's definitely the best around. Everyone I pick up they seem slow, and that's a tragedy. The sushi is also very good. Never had a bad thing from here.
Amazing food, service, and staff. I have eaten here a few times now in the last couple weeks, and it is probably my new favorite Thai restaurant
sorry. Service was slow even though there were only two parties in the restaurant . Food was just ok.
Great Thai food, sushi, and service! A hidden gem in Burke.
The staff are AMAZING here! They have great hospitality and are very professional. The sushi was great and the Thai dishes were too. When you come here, you HAVE to get the Thai tea float. This place’s Thai tea float is very unique and is a delicious desert. I also like how they styled the interior.
Have tried panang curry, pad Thai and Thai garlic stir fry here. Can honestly say that this is the best Thai restaurant in the area and we've tried most if not all of Thai restaurants in the area from Fredericksburg, Stafford, Dumfries, Woodbridge, Lorton and Alexandria. Some Alexandria Thai restaurants are almost as good, but the quantity and price of Khao Hom Thai cannot be beat around here!
Incredible Thai. The service was very friendly. We like our food very hot and their drunken noodles had the heat with incredible flavor.
This is a hidden gem! They opened in 2020 and we always enjoy every meal. The owner is so wonderful and someone you will be happy to support.
They have wonderful Thai dishes and sushi. There is something there for everyone. I think most importantly, the owner has a heart of gold and is so dedicated to the restaurant.
They have had a lot of obstacles opening in June 2020 because of the pandemic restrictions and she just keeps powering through. The food quality is always consistent and we love both takeout and dining in. Please try them, you won’t be disappointed!!!
Fantastic food! Everything was really delicious. Definitely recommend picking from the specials too!
Excellent food and service.
We ordered takeout green curry, pad thai, pad see ew, and pineapple fried rice. The flavor, portions and prices were all very good. I'm looking forward to returning. Next time we might try some sushi as it seems popular.
Lovely little place! Ordered the calamari and tom yum soup and both were delicious. Staff were very patient as well.
staff is so friendly and all of the dishes are delicious, the sushi is always super fresh as well! best thai place in burke 110%
Some of the best sushi I’ve ever had!! The service is wonderful and the food here is spectacular. I stumbled upon this restaurant while searching online for local sushi restaurants. The other reviews peaked my interest and I couldn’t be happier that I went to give this place a try. Looking forward to visiting again. Next time I promise to take photos. I was so hungry and it looked so yummy that I had to dive right in.
Cute spot for family/friend outings and even a date
Just tried pad thai for the first time. I wouldn't know what to look for but it was just simply delicious. I got the spicy level of spice. There was one more (thai spice). But man spicy was just perfect for me. Felt like I was in Thailand eating even thought this is my first time trying it.
Great food, great atmosphere, wonderful service! definitely recommend!
Great food, kind waitress, and a pretty environment. It deserves more attention
The owners are very friendly and professional, and the foods are very good.
The food is excellent and very fresh. Glad we found this place!
The fish is very fresh. We really like the sushi here.
We had a girls night dinner on a Wed night and had great food and had fun chatting with our very personable server. I had my go-to Thai dish, pad see ew with beef and it was the best I have had in years. My friends had drunken noodles with tofu and a chicken curry dish which they both enjoyed. We ended our meals with my favorite, mango with sticky rice and it did not disappoint. We will return to try their sushi!
Love this place! I have had both the sushi and the Thai takeout at this location, and it’s always fresh and flavorful. The Thai iced tea is also a tasty treat.
Very tasty fresh Thai. The seafood is especially fresh we like the mixed seafood that is spicy and steamed - served in foil. Also enjoy the green curry
Best Thai in the area.
Easily the worst Thai food I've ever had. Both the pad Thai and drunken noodles were mushy, with bad (like rotten bad) ingredients and just plain bad flavor.
Are other people reviewing a different restaurant?!? Maybe the reviews are just fake...
The absolute best sushi and Thai food. Everything is fresh and served with pride. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and is always immaculate! The staff are extremely pleasant and kind. My absolute favorite restaurant in Burke!
This place definitely has the best drunken noodle of all Thai places around Fairfax area! I’ve dined at most of the Thai restaurants in the area and considered myself a foodie. Will definitely be coming back.
Great place. I like the duck roll appetizer - a mix of Peking duck and a carnival hot dog - and the sassy shrimp chef’s special, with a delicious sweet and spicy basil sauce. The sushi isn’t bad either.
So far love them I can’t want to go to their lunch again and for sure need to try many more things in the menu lol hope to update this review with pictures. They totally deserve 5 stars sushi specials and the Tom yum/kha are delicious and Again need to update this with more later just wanted to give my support as their owner is great!
A small neighborhood restaurant, Khao Hom has become our go-to place for Thai food. It's some of the best we've tasted, and that despite a number of good Thai restaurants in Fairfax.
The sushi was *so* fresh. Every kind of sushi roll we had was amazing. The sashimi was great. Rice was flavorful. And for the price?? We were thrilled!! The staff was incredibly friendly and went far and beyond to make sure we were happy with our order. 10/10 starts for taste, freshness, and customer service. You’d be crazy not to order from them
This is quite the find! The owner is kind and so welcoming, the sushi is absolutely the freshest and rolled with a wealth of experience and the entirely of the menu is expansive and celebrates a rich cultural mix of authentic Asian dishes. Btw... happy hour is well worth at least a weekly Visit!

Wow! Found our new Thai AND sushi place. Thai food was super fresh and the sushi rolls were spectacular.
This is by far my favorite place for sushi. I will not admit how many times I have been back in the last three weeks lol for the same rolls! My favorite are the Alaska roll, Mexican roll, yellowtail jalapeño roll, spicy crunchy yellowtail roll, and the friendly roll. Even my husband who is not about the raw fish loves every one of these rolls. The sushi chef is a real artist that takes his craft seriously! My kids love this place also. My son refuses to eat at restaurants. He won’t eat the chicken nuggets, Mac and cheese, and French fries but he will eat a lot of the chicken fried rice that is on the kids menu here. The sweet waitress even gave him extra cucumber when she saw my 2 year old inhaling it lol My husband had ordered the pineapple fried rice once and it was amazing also. I need to try more of their Thai dishes because they smell so dang good when they are coming out. We are military and will be leaving this coming summer and this is the place I will absolutely miss the most! The waitstaff is my absolute favorite also. We chat like we’ve been friends before. I completely feel welcomed. Please do not be impatient with them when they are understaffed. They are doing everything they can and you will not be disappointed!
Best Thai in the area hands down! Always fresh, flavorful, full portion sizes and authentic. Sushi is also very fresh and a good selection of rolls! HIGHLY recommend!
Enjoyed the Tom yum
I was recently looking to try out a new Thai place. This location is a hidden gem the reason why I am saying is the food is delicious and has great service. I went there with my sister on Friday night. I order a California roll with drunken noodles. The sushi was fresh and delicious. The drunken noodles had great texture and were not super soggy just perfect. The servery was super friendly I will be returning soon.
Best Thai food I've had in Fairfax. Loved the drunken noodles and spicy eggplant.
I've ordered delivery from here a few times and the food has been amazing. The sushi, duck, soup and salad are my favorites. It's honestly the best tasting Thai food I've had. Delivery was mostly quick too. If you're craving Thai food or sushi I definitely recommend checking this place out!
Really good that food. Live the sassy shrimp
Today was my second time getting food from here. Last time my husband picked up some Tom Yum soup w/shrimp and it was honestly the best tasting I’ve had...husband agreed. Today I got some sushi and mango sticky rice it was amazing 😋 I also got to meet the owner Kim who is so sweet! This place is new (opened last year amidst the raging pandemic), and my new one stop Asian craving take out. How awesome that they have both Thai food and sushi, double kudos!
Best Thai food in Northern Virginia. Portions are good and so is the food.
This place is awesome. Be sure to come after 4-5 pm, they don’t serve sushi during the day time. I didn’t try any better sushi in Virginia. The stuff is so nice and caring. I looove the place
First time ever having thai food and I'm happy... I got the drunken chicken and mhmm yummy thank you kim
First time we ordered here, all our five dishes were excellent. Menu is diverse enough to please all family members. We’ll order from here again for sure.
-This negative review is not a judge of the quality of food here, but their unethical practice.
The food is pretty good; service by Bank is exceptional. But we were disappointed last time that they added a $1 or $2 surcharge for each Thai iced tea because we asked for no ice.
They didn’t tell us anything about it, and there’s nothing on the menu about it; I found out because I noticed the higher price on the receipt. Was told that decision comes from the owner, and would not change it.
Pretty unethical as possibly illegal decision; plus unwise - we would spend ~$80-100+ each time; but will not set foot there again.
For alternative delicious sushi & Japanese fare try Burke Fortune House!
Best Thai food I’ve ever tried!
Excellent service! They were attentive and made sure we had everything. Respectful social distancing and friendly! Will come back again!
Wow!!! Was looking for a new Thai place to try and this place did not disappoint! We went with the classic drunken noodles and basil fried rice and both were AMAZING!! The sushi rolls are affordable and yummy too. The portions were filling and the service was great too. Looking forward to coming back and trying more soon!!
We found this place for Thai food and stumbled into the fact that they have sushi as well. To say I’m picky is an understatement both the Thai and the sushi is over the top amazing. Prices are extremely reasonable soon you won’t be able to get a table in this place. The staff is kind and courteous and make you feel like you’re the most important person in the restaurant.
Simply the best
Best Thai place in the Burke area. We tried several others, which were fine, and then stumbled upon this gem. The prices are reasonable, the portions HUGE (easily two meals off a carry-out portion) and the flavors great. The other Thai places in the area ticked one or two of those boxes, but not all three.
The staff is also very friendly and responsive. I ordered carry-out from here on a particularly busy night and waited a bit longer than they said it would be and the manager gave me two free beers to go. Now that's what I call service!
They do all of the staples right. The pad Thai, drunken noodles and pad see ew are all the bomb. We've had a few of the sushi rolls too. The sushi is solid. It's not the star of the show, and there are probably better sushi places in the area, but if you have a craving for sushi, you can easily add on a roll or two to deal with your need.
So, overall, great place. I wish we had found it sooner.
OmyYummmmmmm - hubby loves Thai and was thrilled to see Khao Home Thai & Sushi open so close to home. Me I love fresh food and we've been back several times in two weeks! We take it home so take the recommendations from the staff. If its being delivered the chef may separate the ingredients so things don't get soggy. We live so close that we told him to prepare it like we were eating in.
Hubby's Crispy Duck Basil was amazing!
We have thoroughly enjoyed their salmon sushi and sashimi's, fried calamari, wonton, noodles and steamed fresh veggies! Can't wait to try more dishes.
Everyone very friendly and helpful; masked and gloved. ENJOY
Good food, on time delivery and food was fresh and hot
Sushi rolls were delicious, dessert was on point, and service was excellent. We will be back!
Love this place!! Highly recommend :)
Absolutely loooove this place!
Wanted a good local place to get sushi and I'm so glad we stumbled on Khao.
The staff is super friendly and always accommodating and you can dine in with plenty of space for covid restrictions.
We have cone ever week for awhile now. Yum!
I don't usually leave reviews but this place is hands down the best when it comes to Thai food. We had the sushi, Thai basil and fried rice. All were delicious and the spicy level was on point to my liking. Please don't ever change the quality of your food and service.
So fresh, clean, delicious and beautiful Sushi and Thai food! I felt like I'm enjoying food at a hotel at this restaurant. Everyone is very kind here! :-)
Wow! This is REAL Thai food. My wife and I ordered a nice mix of sushi and Thai entrees and were thrilled. Hot, fresh and delicious. We highly recommend the 'Phuket Seafood' as it cooks on a hot skillet (think Fajita style). Free parking and the staff is sweet. Thank you Guy, Kim, Jessica and Bank! If you live in Northern Virginia you will definitely LOVE it here when that Thai Food craving kicks in. 5 stars all the way!
A wonderful place to dine. My son, daughter and I eat here after our visits together at every opportunity we have.
Food was great and ambiance was awesome. Good music too. Highly recommend.
We’ve tried drunken noodles at many local restaurants and these are the most delicious, by far. Try the Khao Hom sampler for 4 tasty appetizers. Salads were crisp and fresh. Order was delivered 40 minutes earlier than the estimate when we requested asap delivery service. All around great dinner.
We get delivery regularly and it's always so good!!
Both the Thai and sushi are delicious! They deliver and the food is still hot when it gets here. Highly recommend!
This place was great! We got a couple of appetizers and entrees, loved it!
Great food; awesome place!
Super fast and friendly service. The Pad Thai is the best in town and the drunken noodles are great. The sushi just got added and its very good. Id give it 10 stars if I could!
Simply delicious. Everything from the food to the service- everything was perfect. The restaurant took all necessary Covid precautions- six feet distance and all of the staff wore masks! We will definitely be back!
