Welcome to Made In Asia, where we bring the vibrant flavors of Asian food right to your table! 📍 Located at 7302 Hancock Village Drive, Chesterfield, VA 23832, our modern restaurant offers a perfect escape from the everyday hustle. Whether you’re in the mood for a relaxed dine-in experience or need a quick and easy meal, we’ve got you covered.
We celebrating my daughter's birthday here. The atmosphere & staff seemed very layed back. It use to appear a bit more upscale. The peanut curry w vegies & chicken was absolutely delicious. Wish they would bring back shitaki mushrooms. Enjoyed the Chesterfield sushi roll. I would visit again.
We ordered takeout. The chicken lettuce wraps were not seasoned, there was no flavor. This entree was prepared more like a salad, the chicken pieces were huge. I was disappointed in the dish. The Lo Mien noodles were not impressive, very average, too sugary. Sushi was good but poorly presented, rice was mixed into the center of roll. Miso soup was diluted, very little flavor. Bang Bang shrimp and the wasabi was very good. I would have given 2.5 stars if it would have been a choice for our overall food experience.
Great service; Kayla was amazing as a server and ensured we taken care of which was wonderful. Food was fast and tasty. Spring rolls and sushi were full of flavor and neatly plated. Overall this was a great experience, atmosphere was very friendly and this was an enjoyable night out.
Areas of improvement: restroom cleanliness, overall restaurant decor. This so much culture and history to draw upon the decor should match that. I do think this would enhance the experience of the average consumer. For instance, instead of hanging random art, maybe some historical facts or knowledge of origin of restaurants.
Overall, great experience and would return in a heartbeat.
I had dinner here last night with my brother’s bridal party and had a great time!
They put flowers on the table and the food was delicious! My wife and I split a meal and we left with full bellies. We ordered a green salad, California Roll, Philly Roll, Salmon Skin Roll, Tempora Shrimp Roll, and 2 Spring Rolls. This was our first time here and we’ll definitely be back.
The only issue is parking but that is easily resolved by parking on the side of the building.
Terrible response. Ordered door dash. Food arrived missing items. Called the restaurant.. Spoke to a manager who advised.." nothing we can do, call door dash." I asked" You packaged and the food and stapled the bag shut, door dash picked up your missing order.". Manager did nothing... Really??? You forget to put the food in the bag and you blame the delivery person?? We frequent the restaurant all the time, but the lazy, terribly customer service response may be our last. Do better, offer to fix the problem that you made. With many other options in the area, this attitude is disappointing. Door dash quickly fixed the restaurants problem. Well done door dash....
This is a cute Mom and Pop place. Serves fresh sushi and tasty drunken noodles. My server was amazing and very tentative and the manager was super friendly. 10/10 will go there again!! A great spot for a nice family dinner and who can beat eating local!
This was a really big miss for Made In Asia Saturday night. We had a 6:15pm reservation for which we arrived a few minutes early and were seated right away. After 15 minutes with no greeting at the table, I informed the host that no one had come yet. He said they were short staffed although we saw several servers about and the restaurant was not overly busy. He went to let someone know to take care of us. Maybe 10 more minutes later, a young girl finally showed up.
Since we’d been there about 30minutes, we were ready with our full order of water, cocktails, appetizers, and entrees. And then we waited and waited and finally were given 1 glass of water for a party of 4. Then, about 10 more minutes later, a different server comes to the table with 2 of our entrees. We told her we didn’t think they were ours bc we hadn’t even received our appetizers or drinks yet. She returned to the kitchen with them. About 7-8min later, the appetizers came but still no drinks..no plates to share the food or anything either.
Finally, the drinks show up and then the entrees not long after. Our server wanted to take away the appetizers we were still working on to make room for the dinners. No. We crammed it all on the table.
The spring rolls were not good, but the crab Rangoon and gyoza was. I almost broke my tooth on a chicken bone (I hope that’s what it was) that was in the chicken breast for the chicken lettuce wraps. Then, I was afraid to eat any more of it…so took some of my husband’s drunken noodles…which tasted like sugar to me. So, I did not eat that either.
This was such an epic restaurant fail in terms of service and food quality. Very disappointing. I gave 2 stars because the crab Rangoon and gyoza were good and one in our party enjoyed their dinner. 2 stars is generous for this experience.
Hands down the best Thai restaurant I have ever been to! The food was so flavorful and fresh. I got a fried rice dish that had vegetables and chicken and it was one of the best dishes I have ever had. The portion sizes were also super big so that is a plus! I came with my mom and dad and we all had leftovers and we all loved our meal! Too bad we were all just traveling through because I would definitely be coming back.

Bang Bang shrimp and the wasabi was very good. I would have given 2.5 stars if it would have been a choice for our overall food experience.
The food is excellent, large portions seasoned perfectly.

Failed to put a $20 entree in the bag then referred us to DoorDash for credit. Showed no concern
Great sushi spot!
I've been eating here for awhile and progressively my food has gotten worse and worse. My most recent order was so dry it was difficult to chew. I want to return it, but don't feel like putting my toddler back in the car to drive back to the resteraunt. I probably won't be eating here again. If it was the first time, second, or maybe third time my food was not good when I ordered it; maybe I would consider it. Here lately, even when I order food the food is not good. It's been very dry. I haven't been to the resteraunt for a year because the food has not been good. Guess I should have learned last year to just try someplace else. Today I received my final lesson.
This is a cute Mom and Pop place. Serves fresh sushi and tasty drunken noodles. My server was amazing and very tentative and the manager was super friendly. 10/10 will go there again!! A great spot for a nice family dinner and who can beat eating local!
The food was good but the service was very slow. Had to make serveral requests for drink refills and was charged for the extra drinks instead of them being refills. Rice was suppose to be included with entrée but had to ask for it halfway through the meal. The restaurant was fairly busy but not packed and the waitress never came back to check on us, had to stop her when she came by for someone else.
Recently had the worst dining experience here that I’ve had in a long time. The place has gone down hill big time. The service was terrible. No fault of the server. After waiting quite awhile we finally placed a drink order, apps and meal. Waited for a very long time again and then everything came out all at once. The place was virtually empty so it was particularly frustrating. Would never go back.
I ordered sushi to go and was so impressed by both the speed in which they completed my order as well as the quality! Everything tasted so fresh and the presentation was beautiful, even though it was take out! I highly recommend MIA for local, high quality sushi.
The 3 pieces of steamed broccoli were the only part of this $35 takeout that wasn’t a disappointment.
-Spring rolls: very meh
-Gyoza: fried not steamed
-General Tso’s: good flavor, no sauce, somehow dry
-Couldn’t upgrade rice to fried rice (even for a fee)
-Couldn’t do a non entree-size of Lo mein??
Give the people what they want when they are willing to pay!
Service was very slow despite being empty. Took 15 minutes to get drinks. Food was microwaved and rubbery. Not worth 70+ dollars for two people, spend your money somewhere else.
We have dined here several times over the years but this was the worst experience to date. We were seated while the dining area was fairly empty and no one ever stopped by to ask about our order or beverages. Several of the servers walked by our section and completely ignored our table. We ended up walking out after never being greeted by a server or staff member. If they can’t handle service when they are empty I can’t imagine how bad the service is when they are busy. I would avoid this place and spend your money where they actually tend to their customers.
Disappointed. Purchased Thai Basil rice with shrimp. The shrimp were super powdery. Not eatable. So much for a good birthday dinner for my wife.
Compliments to the chef! Highly recommend the General Tso extra spicy if you like a good kick that still tastes delicious. Have been here several times and not had a bad experience. Will definitely be coming back again.
We have gotten this a lot over the years, usually good but tonight the food was very dry as if was microwaved. I called to get a comp for inedible food and all I got was a discount. My wife and I had to go buy chipotle instead because we couldn't eat this food. Spent a ton on our dinner because of this. Would not recommend, they didn't handle the aftermath of bad food well at all. Avoid, and go elsewhere - they do not care.
They have great sushi 🍣 The service was excellent as well
Food is A++ I always get the Singapore noodles. They have 4 heat/spicy levels I believe including no spicy so something for everyone in your party. My hubs loves their general tso chicken
The service was very good and the place was clean and quiet. We liked the sushi and Rangoon and the entree. We will go back.
A solid 4.5 stars mainly due to sushi. This was once a nice sushi bar many years ago, but has stepped down a little on quality or we just happened to show up on a understaffed day. Plenty of seating and had a nice bar, would make for a nice first date venue. The first thing we noticed, was that the table bus service could be improved as there was food still on the floor of the table we were given, kind of expected more for the price they charge. Sushi was excellent but miso soup was average, thai food was average in flavor and. We didn't stick around for dessert.
Amazing atmosphere, out-of-this world food, great location, perfect waitstaff, nice bathrooms, fantastic prices; all-in-all, a 100%.
I wish I could comment without giving a single star. I’ve frequented this restaurant in the past, but last night was extremely disturbing! I chose this restaurant to celebrate my sister’s birthday with our family and friends, expecting the same service I received in the past, but last night was a nightmare! For starters, our waitress was incompetent and had to be asked several times for items we ordered. She didn’t know the menu, and did not express the restaurant’s policies to us until we received the check with items to pay for that we did not eat. We waited over an hour for our food, and mind you, we all remained patient and kind throughout all of this. It wasn’t until the manager came out being extremely disrespectful that things took a turn for the worse. I wish I could remember the name of the horrible manager who threw around racial slurs, but the waitress’s name is Brooklyn. Please stay away from this restaurant. There are plenty of other Thai restaurants in the area with better food and service. The experience was complete chaos that could’ve been avoided, because they ended up doing what we asked from the beginning… which was to remove the items from the check that were not eaten. After removing the items “to make all of this go away” as stated by the owner, we were told that we could no longer eat at the restaurant, as if we would EVER willingly go back, anyway. Telling us that we’re not welcomed in that racist and disgusting establishment is far from the insult they thought it would be. Also, if you do choose to spend your money at this horrible establishment, please make sure you order food that you know will taste good. If you don’t like the way something tastes, and you take it back without eating the meal, you will still be charged. I am a foodie who has lived in VA for 13 years. I’ve dined at many restaurants here in VA and in other cities/states, and I have NEVER been charged for food I didn’t eat. Whether it has been a quick bite or fine dining. Again, if you desire a pleasant dining experience, you will not get that at Made in Asia, especially if it’s a large group of African Americans. The worst part of it all, my sister’s birthday dinner was ruined and she left in tears.
Best sushi in central VA.
Service was great and the food was absolutely delicious! I got the drunken noodle and the XOXO roll and both were simply delicious.
Called in an order and was told would take 30 minutes arrived 5 minutes early and was told order would be delayed. After another thirty minutes of waiting had to ask about my order again and it was finally brought out. I ask to speak with manager about extended wait and she wouldnt come from around the bar to talk to me and instead yelled overtop of a group of people that onlines orders get delayed. I didn’t make an online order. Manager gave no resolution to issue. I left shaking my head.
Don't go for the atmosphere, go for the FOOD!! It's really good!! Staff is always friendly and the car makes drinks well; never had a bad dish there!
Pretty good Asian food in a decent small 5 setting. The Sushi is excellent and feshly made after ordering. The portions are large and very tasty. Have eaten here a few times and will definitely be back. Staff are attentive and friendly which is also a plus. There is a full bar which is also nice.
I know we came too late but the staff is not friendly. The food is supper safty
So much fish sauce in the pad Thai I couldn’t even eat if. Threw the entire meal away. Thai hot doesn’t mean drench with fish sauce it means make it spicy. Never ever will return. Disgusting.
I’ve spent several months in Thailand and absolutely love Thai food. I’m new to the area and found this gem. The Peanut Curry is delicious! Cocktails are good, staff is courteous and prompt, and the food is legit! I’m heading back tonight with my girlfriend and we’re both looking forward to a great meal.
My boyfriend and I ate here Wednesday night for dinner, I’d never been to this restaurant before and needless to say after what I went through I’m not sure I’d ever want to come back.. (Mind you this was the only thing I’d had to eat at all that day) I had the Maki platter (spicy salmon, shrimp tempura, and spider roll) and he had the General Tso’s chicken. I gave him a bite of my sushi to try and at the end of the meal when we’ve finished paying he said that something didn't sit right. I didn’t think too much of it, and we went home. The next morning I woke up with a horrendous amount of stomach pain and eventually was uncontrollably throwing up bile every ten to fifteen minutes for hours straight. I’ve never experienced such pain in my entire life. He rushed me to the ER and found out that I had severe food poisoning. I listed off everything that I had ate within the last couple days prior and the doctor had agreed the sushi was the cause. I really contemplated leaving this review until my boyfriend started aggressively throwing up today.. this is not okay, and I highly advice everyone to proceed with caution.
My wife and I had dinner here and absolutely loved the sushi. It's rare to find a restaurant where the owner is the chef, and we love it! Kevin does an amazing job preparing the always fresh sushi and the cocktails are always great.
Bathrooms are both nasty...and it isn't just recent filth, there is buildup on the trim and behind the hand dryers. The kitchen smells odd as you go by (not in a good way), and my sushi roll was.supposed to have tempura battered oyster in it, but was soggy and had no crunch to it at all.
I was pretty disappointed when I called to get some information. It was a Friday afternoon at 5:30 and I was out walking my dog.
Otherwise I would have looked it up on my computer myself. My phone call should have taken all of 30 seconds but the person who answered did not know the answers to my two questions and she had to consult with someone else at least two times. After that someone else (I assume it was a manager) got on the phone and answered one question but then told me that they were extremely busy and she did not have time to answer any more questions. It was absolutely ridiculous how rude she was to me and really whoever answered the phone maybe should not have if they were so busy that they couldn't answer a couple of simple questions. Or they could have nicely said that they were busy and would I mind calling later. Easy. But no. They didn't do that.
Great date night restaurant. Expensive but food is delicious with great portions. Service was phenomenal.
Always a great experience! Decor makes you feel like on vacation in London. Quality food & ingredients. We are regulars!
Highly recommend.
Cozy atmosphere of booths, tables, and a bar with a friendly staff. Our service was great even despite the collective decline I've seen in service quality since COVID etc. Both of our dishes were amazing I had the pork pad Thai which came as a very healthy portion, enough to bring a full meal of leftovers home. Their dumpling soup was some of the best I've ever had same for their ginger salad. I don't drink anymore but their specialty cocktails had me considering a cheat day.
Long in short this restaurant is 100% worth a try you will be pleasantly surprised.
Awesome food. Service was a little slow.
I love this place so much food so good staff so friendly & welcoming & the bar A1
Warm atmosphere, the sushi was fresh and tasted very good, they have a very good variety of beers.
Please do not host parties of 8 or more here. Staff and kitchen is not equipped to serve/large parties. We recently held a birthday there and most of our orders got mixed up, one young lady never received her food, and was kind enough to request a to-go order instead, and they still forgot to get that to her. At the end of the dinner our server asked each guest what we ordered to get an accurate receipt but failed to hand out the final receipts to each guest. Basically, placed all the updated receipts at the end of the table and told our party to sort through them to pay. This was very disappointing. The owner was present and did not correct the issue. We spoke to him and they showed no remorse. Our birthday guest was promised a free dessert and did not receive it because their kitchen closed. Our party was for 630, we did not receive our food until 745-750, let alone the one guest who never received their order and was accused of eating when we all witnessed her with no food the entire time. A server also spilled an expensive alcoholic beverage on the guests and did not apologize, not offer a discount for the drink.
I’ve been to this restaurant before but will not recommend this restaurant to anyone i know.
Our party was 15-18 guests. With 2-3 servers.
Staff ignored us when we walked in bartender on her phone did not even acknowledge us. table was very sticky... Service was awful, it looked like she was on something… Food took forever and our drinks were never refilled.wife ordered a martini that was too strong which killed the flavor. Drink remade and there was a fruit fly in it!.. I ordered a bourbon ginger that tasted like it’s just been sitting in mold..This place used to be the go-to spot but it’s gone very down hill. Bartender and owner looked to be drunk and no help or fix was offered for us. needless to say wr will not be back or EVER recommend this place!!
Great food! Great Service!
Update. Ordered takeout waiting 30 minutes for a pick up order is ridiculous.
I had a terrible experience there. My food order was wrong my husband gets all the way home and it’s missing stuff and they put the vegetarian rolls with the seafood when I specifically said to keep them separate and the girl on the phone (who didn’t take the order) said she didn’t hear me say that and kept calling me a liar! Never again will I go back. Also the rolls are VERY SMALL and NOT very good
This used to be our go-to for sushi, and dine in. Management has done a horrible job of recruiting adequate help. Long waits (45-1hr) while multile open tables are visible. I recently waited 40 mins past the time that they quoted when ordering take-out, only to get home and find we were shorted an entry.....sushi rolls also shrunk this past year.
This place has been crossed off our list.
If I could give it less than a star I would. Waited over 2 hours for our food. When I received my meal the chicken was cold and I was not given a plate to eat it on. The sushi came with no soy sauce and when asked for a dish to use for the soy sauce and wasabi was given a plastic cup. Payed over $60 for food that went in the trash. Terrible experience. Will never go there again.
Food is always great; however, the wait for takeout was very long.
We come to MIA frequently and it’s my daughter’s go to for her bday dinner but tonight was terrible. The service was super slow and they weren’t busy. All 3 General Tso’s chicken entrees were terribly sauced, the texture of the chicken was rubbery and chewy, and my Chesterfield roll tasted like it had been sitting for days. We were so disappointed.
Last few times we have been we’ve gotten carry out. The food is lacking taste or has a weird taste every time. I’ve ordered different items trying to find the right thing. My husband loves General Tso’s chicken, but both the lo mein noodles as well as the rice taste chemical to me. The pork has a weird chewy texture that makes me feel like it’s not cooked all the way through. The sushi is usually pretty good, but not sure I will be eating here again.
Otherwise the service is always great!
The place was ridiculously hot. Ughh. We ended up not staying because we were afraid of eating the sushi.
The AC apparently has broken for weeks and the owner is seemingly unable or fusing to get it fixed. I feel bad for the staff dealing with that and anyone trying to eat that HOT sushi. I don't what happened I user to love this place.
the food was eh….. but god was it miserable in there. they need to do something about the a/c, not only was i dripping w sweat, but i could tell the staff was havin a hard time. kudos to them for putting up with it and keeping a smile on their faces. i’d consider giving the food a second try if it didn’t feel like the fifth circle of hell in there
Service is only three due to the time it took to get our food prepared and served. Wait staff was very apologetic but we did not expect to wait an hour to get our food. The serving sizes are huge so if we eat here again my wife and I will split the order. Great food selection and taste!
When I was there, it was so hot and felt so muggy! I overheard someone talking about how the owner refuses to fix the AC. The bathrooms were not cleaned either. No soap to wash your hands and no toilet either. I thought this place was good from the reviews and the recommendation my friend made, but I guess it has fallen off the rails. The food wasn't great and took an extremely long time to come to the table. This place needs to get their act together. Also, having your staff in extreme tempatures with out fixing the AC is inhumane and really terrible. I will definitely not bring my business back here.
Won’t be returning. Awful service and management.
Place has gone down hill . The owner doesn’t pay his employees! This is illegal .
The aC is broken . unsafe working conditions. The sushi is hot . Would not recommend going here .. ever.
My server was dripping sweat
Visited with family while out of town. They hadn’t been in a while but said that the service had gone down hill. The music is club music instead of a calm sound that use to be on the system. Also into drinks we were very hot so we asked if they could turn on the AC and we’re informed their AC hadn’t been working.. food was good but maybe get it to go.
I ordered a shrimp dish that had a terrible odor - smelled like the shrimp were spoiled. The food was terrible and the service was the same. We were a party of 6, which included our two young grandchildren. When I received the check, I found a 20% "large party" surcharge had been added. Nowhere did we see any advance notice of this added charge on the menus or posted in the restaurant. The food and service were certainly not worth a 20% surcharge! Needless to say, we will never again go to Made In Asia!
Great take out menu; great online and in person service experience. Ready when promised and very tasty. Medium was not spicy enough for us, so choose spicy if you like a little kick.
Food has gone downhill. You need to know what to order, too. I do NOT recommend the bang bang chicken (tastes like Mayo). I also don’t recommend the egg rolls (taste greasy and burnt). The drunken noodles are where it’s at. I wish Hull Street had better options for Chinese, or I really wouldn’t go here again.
The worst sushi I’ve ever had in my life. I got 7 different kinds of rolls and they were all terrible. I have no clue how this place has 4.5 stars. 😭 Never again! It’s on par with convenient store sushi. 🤮
Sat at a beautiful bar where we were taken care of by a lovely young lady named Emily. Both the service and food was excellent. Crab Rangoon was crispy and flavorful. Honey chicken and lo mein were delicious. We will be back.
Awesome food, atmosphere is nice. I haven't had one dish that disappointed. Plus they have an awesome weekday happy hour with specials on sushi rolls and drinks. YUM!
Order online tell them sauce on the side. They put sauce on the sushi. Called this time, please no sauce….sauce all over everything. Miso soup tasted like disgusting. No chopstix, no soy sauce…100$ completely wasted on a Saturday.
Delicious and great atmosphere but they left the tails on my shrimp in the shrimp fried rice last tike I had takeout
Absolutely love this place!! Food is always delicious but they short me on the brown rice..usually it’s filled to the rim. Mind you I have these big pieces of chicken but this little bit of rice to go with?? M.I.A. is already on the pricey so I expect to get plenty of rice.
Thai Basil Chicken had good flavor but the Thai Hot spice level is an absolute joke. It was medium at best.
Pretty good food for pretty good prices.
Drunken noodles and Honey chicken were delicious. Easy carry out service in the back parking area and very friendly staff. Will eat here again!
Great sushi, I appreciate their beer list and overall prices are good. Service is usually slow but the kitchen gets your food out quick. Love the atmosphere.
Awesome drinks and food. Great service also. Welcoming atmosphere. The Thai and Sushi are really good.
Food was good but seems like the cook has changed. The service has dropped tremendously and the food is never ready ontime but no problem with charging your card. Upon arrival is when you find out that your order is not either put in or behind other customers. Expect about an hour wait. They have a lot of turnover and are constantly getting orders incorrect. They offered a refund but it was NEVER received even when you follow-up. Unfortunately, it's time to find another spot.
Great date night place. Date your wife. Happy wife happy life. My daughter now loves it as well.
Everyone is always really helpful and I always enjoy my meal!
Small plate with raw tuna was wonderful but small. Chicken dish was very tasty.
Great place
Delicious
Good decor and set up. Would never expect it to look the way it did inside. SEEMED very clean. Good happy hour with nice staff!
Why 3 stars? The table behind us had a cockroach! I took care of it for them and the manager didn’t apologize or do anything to make up for it. They also brought the wrong order out. A cockroach would be a 1 but the kindness of some of the staff brings it up
Not sure if management has changed, but I have never been so disappointed until today with this company. The bartender was rude!!!!! My wife was trying to place an order and before she could complete the order, the rude bartender hung the phone up. Never again!!!!
We love this place!
I have been going to Made in Asia for a little while now but last night was a horrible experience. The service was great per usual. The food not so great. I don’t know who the chef was but he was off his game. My wife ordered the Thai Basil Shrimp, as usual, it came out so dry. We ask the server to ask the chef, “where is the sauce?” She replied and said the chef said it’s not cooked in any sauce. Red flag number 1 because it clearly states it on the menu. Red Flag number 2, the Crab Rangoon was 99% cream cheese and 1% crab. It’s not supposed to be a dessert but and appetizer. Made in Asia I love you but one of those chefs is going to bring you many more complaints.
Green curry!!
Excellent service and great food. They never disappoint.
Delicious Asian dishes. We frequently get sushi or a Thai curry/noodle dish and they’re always amazing. Glad to have this restaurant in our community.
Really good food…. however the atmosphere is a bit contentious. It’s Chesterfield…..come on…lol!
The staff was very very slow on our last two visits. We keep going back because the food is so good, however we prepare ourselves for a not so great experience.
i loveee made in asia so much, the sweet potato roll with spicy mayo is my favorite! never disappoints :,)
It's just good. Go.
Atmosphere was great, and the service was good
The sauce was entirely to thick for this dish. I could not eat all of this dish.
Kayla C. Was a great server. Very attentive and timely. The food was delicious. I ordered the ginger green salad, the chicken tempura, the pad see ew and the tempura chocolate cake.
All was very delicious and to my liking.
Father’s Day dinner yesterday evening. Had 6:30 reservations and our party of 3 was seated on time. Service, kitchen and bar were unusually slow, Appeared to be due to lack of staff. Mason was our server and he did a great job under the circumstances. Kept his cool and continued to communicate with us, doing everything he could to made the combination Father’s Day and Birthday celebration a success. The check had a 15% service discount without any prompting which showed they were empathetic to the service. All food was sensational as always, especially the sushi! Love this place!!
Made in Asia is SOOO GOOD! I visited in person (prior to Covid) and absolutely loved everything about it. From the ambiance to the food; its classy, modern sophistication is simply captivating. The servers are both knowledgeable and accommodating and make the experience worthwhile. Since Covid I have ordered takeout quite a bit from Made in Asia, and unashamedly so, and the experience is just as pleasant. The online ordering has been simplified as a result of the increase in online ordering during the global pandemic so it's simple to order tasty eats and pick them up at the rear of the establishment. I have recommended this place to several people. Way to go, Made in Asia! Keep it up.
Nice little restaurant. Food was great. Price was good. Waiter "Brandon" was very attentive We plan to return sometime to try something different, but wouldn't hesitate to order the same meals again.
The pad Thai was amazing
First off there was a dead mosquito in my steamed rice. It was downhill after that. When I requested medium spiciness they must have assumed I meant hellfire. There were inedible potatoes in the curry that tasted of chalk. Tofu was overcooked to curdled leather.
The General Tsao's Chicken was much better than expected. I've stopped in here a few times and have always enjoyed both the food and service.
I wanted to really like this place but, like so many other places, they are apparently short-staffed and have a bunch of teenagers working for them. I ordered takeout and was told it would be ready in 25 minutes. When I arrived in the curbside pickup area, I called and the young woman said she would check on my order. Meanwhile there were teenage staff running in and out the back door, sitting in cars with their friends, etc. Ten minutes went by and nothing. I walk around to the front entrance to get my food and I explained what happened. Apparently it was quitting time for the teenagers and nobody passed it on that I had arrived and was waiting for my food. The manager was very apologetic and gave me a slight discount. The portion size of the Pad Kow was generous and it was flavorful, but the salt content was off the charts (and I like salty food)! I may give it another chance, but chef needs to go easy on the salt and the teenagers need to be more responsible. 😒
Whomp whomp… Don’t get the sushi. Soooo boring and very overpriced for what you get. Specialty rolls? What’s so special?! Sticky Rice is way better 😂
Oh, and their noddle dishes and spring rolls are greasy AF.
Dinner tonight was awful. The table was dirty, the glasses had food stuck to the outside, and one of my sushi rolls tasted like it had gone bad. Very disappointed for such an expensive meal.
Never had an issue with them dinning in. But this is the first time I did a carry out order. I ordered 3 different sushi one of them was shrimp tempura, the shrimp tasted very weird and the whole roll looked brown, very dry rice. Never seen a roll like this. Also the avocado tasted a little spoiled in the cucumber and avocado roll. I called 40 minutes before they close. But it does not mean you are gonna give to your customers the last or the worst ingredients you have.
Really do enjoy the food here, but was recently disappointed as we made a reservation for a party of 12 for my birthday, the hostess confirmed over the phone the reservation. Upon arrival we were informed that they only accept online reservations. If we had known we would have done that, but that was not the case. We asked if there was anyway they could accommodate us and they said they could not and did not offer anything for the mistake made on their end. Very disappointed
The food is good but the to go service warrants this 2 star review. Be cautious when getting takeout. This is the SECOND time we have have had missing items, and our family member didn't have their meal! Really disappointing since we are repeat customers and pay almost 60 plus dollars each time. Please train your employees to check over orders.
Food was great
I was getting Cali rolls from here all the time but last time I did, I found THREE HAIRS in my food. I'd definitely be on the lookout.
Ordered the honey chicken a Maki roll platter ,the tuna appatizer and an old fashioned, the food was great and would go back anytime for food. The old fashioned on the other hand was way too sweet like they used too much simple syrup.
Always a pleasant experience when visiting this location!
Quick and reasonably priced.
I sit here at 8pm waiting to be seated at Made in Asia in Hancock Village. Why? Because their website indicates that you CANT call to make reservations. It indicates you can ONLY make ONLINE reservations. At 630pm, I made an available 745pm reservation. It was accepted and confirmed. I arrived at 745pm with my husband and son only to be told by the hostess that "We stop looking at the online reservations for the evening at 6pm. So, we will be happy to put you on a waiting list. The wait will be 30 minutes." GGRRRRRRRRR!! Seriously? I am VERY unhappy. They get 2 stars only because the food is good here. Customer service is lacking.
Great sushi, Asian cuisine and beer selection! I almost hate to leave this review in fear of having to wait for seating.
First, the staff was pleasant, helpful and efficient. 5 stars for the staff. Second the food was good (I had the Pad Thai and it was very good but not outstanding), so 4 stars for the taste of the food. The presentation on the rolls (my wife had a cucumber roll, an avocado roll and a tempora chicken roll and I had a salmon roll) was mediocre and the size of the rolls small, so 3-4 stars there. What really earned them 3 stars overall was that when my wife ordered hot tea she was told that the "thing that makes the water hot" was broken, so there was no hot tea. Put a pot on the stove, perhaps?
Overall a good experience and I'd go back, just not the great experience I was hoping for.
This is my favorite restaurant in Virginia!!! Food is absolutely delicious. Service is excellent. One try and you will be hooked.
I love the bang bang chicken! So good, friendly servers and the food is always good, never rushed and will always come back!
If I could rate this "0" I would. We spent 48 bucks and NONE of our food was remotely okay. It was AWFUL. We ordered spring rolls, honey chicken, pad thai, chicken fried rice. The 4 of us legit spit it out. The broc was brown. Everything was super dry. The noodles were mush! Pad thai noodles are supposed to be long, ours were minced! Absolutely disgusting. I wouldn't normally write such a bad review, especially during a pandemic, but this is just beyond gross. No quality control? Definitely will never be back. Worst 48 bucks we have EVER spent.
We ordered take out. We did not dine in.
Food was ok, nothing special. I thought it was overpriced for what we got. However, no complaints on atmosphere or service.
What the haides!!!! Mmmm-mmmmmh. The food here is missing taste. I have my sense of taste and smell, but apparently the person who cooked the food doesn’t. Omg…….. I am so mad :( Waste of my calories. I’m hoping this was a mess up. I’m not willing to try again though. I ordered the honey chicken. It’s missing honey and taste. I don’t know what the what. On top of that, The chicken doesn’t even look like chicken. Geesh. Yuck!!!!!!!! And no soy sauce.. 😬
Digital menus and had physical menus for the non tech savvy in our group. Restaurant has somewhat tight spaces but try to space out groups. Food portions are fulfilling based on order. Special sushi rolls could be a meal but the California rolls are appetizer size only. All items ordered were very tasty and filling.
Party of two_BAD EXPERIENCE!!!p😠😠😡😡😡😡. We arrived upon the restaurant opening and we're told that we could enter and then we're told that they weren't open as we went to be seated. We explained that the woman who appeared to be the owner outside The Establishment told us that we were able to go in and eat. The behavior was unprofessional by the hostess and wait staff who didn't have a grasp or seem to be trained about what restaurant service is. We were told upon sitting down that 20% (excessive gratuity for two people) would automatically be added to our bill and there were no menues, we had to use internet service in order to view the menu and this is supposed to be a upscale dining establishment. Our first thoughts were is to get up and leave but I wanted to have a nice lunch with my husband in a nice atmisphere. I decided to just to stay. We ordered the Five spice calamari, it came out on a plate with ten tiny cuts of calamari and small cut of vegetables salad scattered across the plate. It was cold overcooked and had no five soice. We express our concerns to the horses/manager who wanted to tell us it was a"posh dish" . We explain to her that both of us are chefs and know what to expect from food in a restaurant and that that was unacceptable. The miso soup can only be described as bathwater. The seaweed salad that we ordered came in a small martini glass and there was just a small tablespoon of seaweed salad on top underneath was a bed of beets that were shredded up in spirals. The rolls that we ordered were spider roll, spicy tuna roll, and whitefin tuna roll which were half the size of what sushi normally would be. It's understandable that in the Covid crisis that restaurants need to make adjustments but you can't take shortcuts on food by charging more and serving less and expect people to pay for it and be okay with it especially in a more upscale dining establishment. We were told that our order would have the calamari removed but upon review of the receipt when I came home we were charged for two orders of calamari when we ordered one one order was removed. (I take responsibility for not really viewing the receipt clearly but I was upset) Additionally we were charge 30% on tip and made the waitress aware that we were overcharged and she removed this and allowed me to write the tip in. Needless to say we will not be visiting this establishment again. They're very clearly cheating and being dishonest with their patrons..
Don't order the garlic and vegetables. It does smell or taste like it is supposed to. They will also charge your the same price for A meat wither you get it or not. Other then that. All the other food that my family order was excellent.
Sushi right up the road. My only concern is the pad see ew doesn't have the real big, fat noodles. The flavor's good, but nothing beats the big noodles.
Made in Asia is a great place for some good pan-asian food that is hearty, the drinks are great, great selection of beer and great sake. A place where the chesterfield area doesn't really have a place like this to go to. Now you do. Made in Asia is great for family gatherings, social gatherings, date night or just a casual night out. Great food from apps all the way down to the main course. I am excited to go back along with the great atmosphere. Keep it up y'all! Thank you ☺️
Food took forever with barely anyone there. Thai hot was not spicy enough. The Penang Curry was sweet and the potatoes were mushy. Didn't taste at all like Penang.
Service was amazing, though. Knowledgeable and nice.
Fantastic restaurant. Excellent Entrees, and best Sushi within 15 miles. Service and Atmosphere are very good. Food is somewhat pricey but worth it.
The food is great and I love the upscale feel of the restaurant decor, however, their skimpy/minimumly dressed staff is a bit of a turn off. I've been their twice within the last few months (I live in NOVA) and both times the hostesses and bartender had next to nothing on...the wait staff this past time had clothes on but the time before last, they were dressed inappropriately. If I wanted to be in that sort of environment, I would have gone to hooters.
Love the shrimp tempura.
This was our first and last time ordering from MIA. First, our cold raw fish was packaged on top of our hot pad thai, an extreme safety hazard!! Second, it was extremely difficult to find sushi roles that didn't have spicy mayo smothered all over it (contrary to popular belief not all people like mayonnaise). Additionally, the shrimp asparagus role had no shrimp and the spicy tuna roll was smothered in...you guessed it, mayo (though never stated on their menu), wt?? Consumer beware.
Absolutely incredible place. Best waiter I've had in years.
3/22/21Third trip and still the best service & food
The good read extremely well prepared, I would just say that their "Hot" level of spiciness really isn't very hot. I guess I'll get Thai hot the next time I get their drunken noodles. But it was still excellent and a good value. It was two meals for me.
Been here twice and both times the food and service were SUPERB!!
Lasandria is an amazing server. So helpful, attentive and charming. We always feel welcome and like VIPs here.
Come for the great food. Come back for the excellent service, as well.
Me and my dad have been here twice, and both times have been served by Lasandria. Let me just say that she is so incredibly sweet and so helpful!! Always there to get us what we need. :)) The food was amazing and didn’t take too long to get! Love it!! ❤️
So disappointed! I was really hoping this was going to be good. Unfortunately, it tasted like cheap, overcooked ingredients. I will not be going back.
Got takeout here for the first time. My husband's was ok but mine was veggies with brown rice. It was very unappetizing and was completely brown smothered in a brown sauce. It had no taste and smelled bad. The smell was like dog food. My husband smelled it and said don't eat that it smells terrible! We immediately took it to the outside trash. Unfortunately I had eaten some and then worried about getting sick from it all night. There is no way they did not know this food was bad. It was not inexpensive and I will never chance eat there again!!!
Ate here once before an the experience was awesome. Food was great and our waitress checked on us multiple times throughout our visit. I wish I could say the same about today's visit
We were seated and had to aske for a waitress after waiting for several min. The waitress rarely checked on us and I had to ask another waitress for refills. Portions of chicken were very light compared to our first visit.
Not sure if we will return.
Great food and cheerful service! We highly recommend the KB roll!
Great food, great service
Good selection of different Asian dishes and sushi. Been here a few times, really good every time. Recommend the crab wontons.
Amazing
Expensive but excellent
