If you're going to charge over $20 for Chicken Pad Thai, it better be amazing. I double checked their website, and it looked updated, so don't trust other pictures. I would avoid both of their locations and try something else. I hate leaving bad reviews, but I'm not going to sugar coat anything. Good luck!

Such a nice atmosphere and pleasant surroundings! First time visit not our last. I will make this a part of our itinerary each time we visit Hilton Head. Anna was a very nice waitress and she makes these amazing straw top flowers! am so glad I got a chance to get one of my very own. The food was fresh and delicious. My husband got the fried duck which we usually get at the restaurant in Savannah but he said it was so good! Down to the bone as usual. Nothing left on his plate. I got my usual red curry chicken with black rice. In Savannah there's not an upcharge but here it was an additional $2.50 More to get the black rice. But it was fresh and delicious. Disappointed they do not have a salad with their entrees. Only a spring roll or TomTom soup. And surprisingly the water was good. The outside sitting area was so relaxing but I found out this a little too late on my way out! Next time we will sit outside and enjoy the beautiful plants. The beautiful waterfall display adds a relaxing feel to an amazing seating area.

What a delicious true Thai cuisine restaurant (I have travelled extensively in Thailand) "Ruan Thai" (translated Thai restaurant) Hut is. It has a great easy access location north Hilton Head Island. The service was spot-on, the appetizers and entrees were served hot and well timed.

This was our first visit to Ruan Thai Hut and we thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. We ordered hot a tasty Golden Puff (crab pastries) and Egg Roll appetizers served with hot oil sauce. Our two hot entrees were Chicken Pad Thai and Ginger Beef Stir Fry. Both were wonderful. We also appreciated the 4 sauce table set that was presented with our dinner entrees. The Nam Prik and Thai chili sauces were fresh and excellent additions to our dinners.

Great spot! It was recommended to us for the lunch menu, but we went for dinner instead. My husband says it’s some of the best Thai food he’s had, and he’s traveled to the region. My teen girls and I loved the patio’s atmosphere with shade, plants, and chill music. Restrooms were nice. Had a reasonably priced kids’ menu.

Decent place. Tom yum gum soup was a bit inauthentic according to friend who travels to Thailand but overall it was a good option for Thai in the area. Space was small but charming with outdoor seating as well.

This is huge surprise and a gem of restaurant! We visited last night as our jaws dropped when the food arrived with the presentation and taste of food. I am ready to drive from Charlotte for this food again, that’s 4 hours!

Very pretty, very expensive and extremely bland food. Some of the most flavorless Thai food I have ever eaten. Tom Yum broth had no lemongrass flavor and weak chicken flavor. Pad Thai was flavorless and a tiny portion ($28). Drunken noodles tasted like they were out of a box (the noodles). It was also flavorless (and $28 for a tiny portion. Not sure who’s cooking there but I bet they’re not from Thailand.

Nice relaxing meal, great flavors, excellent service and not too long for the meals to be served good and hot. The three flavor grouper was very delicious and the fish cooked perfectly, not greasy but moist flesh and crispy batter.

The combination appetizer had a good selection and enough for four of us to share, but nothing stood out as remarkable. Nothing was bad. It was all just ok. The steamed mussel appetizer was really good with plump, delicious mussels in a broth that was outstanding. The hot and sour soup was good but had too much chicken in it for our dinner companions taste, and he said next time he would just order it without any meat at all. Generous portions without being too much.

Not a lot of vegetarians options in the appetizers and soups. All but one soup had chicken stock.
Service was terrible! Order was messed up twice and consequently we were brought the wrong bill. Not once did the waitress apologize. We were a table of 5, and each of us ordered just one entrée. Mandatory 20% gratuity was added - completely undeserving in this case!

Beautiful place with excellent service and delicious Thai food. Spring Rolls, Red Curry, Sweet n Sour were awesome. We had our 10th marriage anniversary lunch here and it was an awesome experience.

Came here on a Friday night at 6pm. Wanted to give it a try since it’s family owned, related to Ruan Thai Cuisine on Park Lane. The place is very tiny … less than 10 tables inside and a couple tables outside. There isn’t many options on the menu. We ordered the regular fried rice, pad thai, drunken noodle, chicken satay sticks, dumplings and fried wonton. The waitress took 20 minutes before she even came to get our orders. There were only 2 waitresses for the whole restaurant and on top of that, they were managing the take out orders too. That was the first sign we should have left to eat somewhere else. There must have been only 1 cook because our food took an hour to come out! The taste of the food was just average and the portions are very little for the $20/dish plate they charged us. The bill came out to be $185 and they had the nerve to charge us the large party (2 adults, 5 children) 20% gratuity … after awful service. They never even came around to check in on us. They filled 1 water, once… the whole 2 hours we were there. We ate quickly and still didn’t get out of the restaurant until 8:15p! Never again. I recommend going to Ruan Thai Cuisine, where the food and service is 100% better!

The food is overpriced for the quality and the portion. The website menu in Google map link is not showing the same price as in the menu of the restaurant.

At last, a great place to dine in Hilton Head. The seafood fried rice and cashew nut with chicken were tastefully done. We also dine at Ruan Thai Cuisine. Both places have great settings and food.

The food was awesome but the server charged us default 20% gratuity for 4 people?? The explanation was that we have to compensate for people who leave very less or no gratuity?! 🤔 Ummm.. what am I missing here!! Not going there again!! Sorry! 😔☹️🙅

Excellent Thai Food! I have eaten a lot of Thai food, but this is some of the best I have had! The flavors are so rich and spot on for what I was looking for in my dishes. From the Tom Kha Gai soup to the Yellow Curry Tofu. The appetizers were wonderful. And the first time we came, my food was delicious as well (2nd time in a week). We may come back for a third time in our 2 week visit to the island. Thank you Ruan Thai Hut!

We went to dinner Tuesday evening around 6pm. The waitress was not pleasant when my wife ask for a half portion of chicken pad Thai. I ordered the panang curry with pork medium heat. It was very tasty and the right amount flavor and spice. The reason we choose to dine at Ruan Thai Hut was because we had good food and good service on our last visit. Based on this visit less than good service we will look for another thai food dinner place on the island.

We ordered Ruan Togo one night and it was so good. I got the Pad Thai and my boyfriend got the fried curry rice. The portions were huge. I was able to make 2 meals out of mine. The flavors of both dishes were on point and the food was still hot when we got it. Do yourself and favor and check this spot out!

The food was amazing and full of flavor. BUT make sure you have EXTRA time to wait patiently while they are fulfilling their to-go orders. I saw two ladies running back-and-forth trying to serve sitting in customers along with the to-go orders. They need to hire more servers so the customers don't just keep on waiting forever for their food to to get refills for drinks. Maybe someone called in that day but it was not communicated to the customers and customers just kept on waiting and waiting and waiting. I saw some customers leaving after ordering because they were tired of waiting for the food. So make sure you are ready to HAVE YOUR PATIENCE TESTED!!!

Delicious Thai food. Everyone in our group enjoyed what they ordered, especially the first time Thai goers. My husband got chicken pad Thai and I got chicken Massaman curry. Both dishes were delicious and the best we’ve both tasted and we’ve tasted a lot of Thai food! Staff was very friendly!! Be sure to make reservations as the restaurant is small, but this is a must visit if you’re in Hilton Head!

We have been here every year for the last 5. The staff is amazing and works incredibly hard. The food has been nothing less than stellar and incredible. Every time, I am continually impressed with the quality of the service, food, and atmosphere that Ruan Thai Hut provides. Cannot recommend enough, Its a must stop place everytime we come. We even went out of our way this year to make sure we could have both dinner and lunch. If the staff sees this thank you!

We ordered take out last evening for supper. We both had Pad Thai w/ chicken and 1 order of spring rolls. I arrived to pickup our food, which was sitting on the bar, only to have to listen to a waiter complaining about being so busy (there were a total of 2 tables seated). Anyway, I got our food and the rolls were still good and warm by the time I got home with it. The pad thai, on the other hand, tasted like it had been reheated and leftovers from lunch. The noodles were not medium width noodles but rather spaghetti size and were all stuck together and stale. The chicken and the noodles were very dry with little moisture in either. I was very disappointed in the lack of flavor for the price we paid. The amount of meat in each dish was minimal. I understand that the cost of goods has increased but this meal was NOT worth the $40+ we spent.
I will certainly rethink my choices when ordering Thai food in the future.

This is some of the BEST Thai food I have ever had (and I spent 19 years in Hong Kong with many trips to Thailand). We went at dinner time and ordered curry, satays, and vegetable spring rolls. They have plenty of vegan options here and my curry was amazing. Good pricing for the quantity of food, easy parking, and very friendly staff. I will definitely be visiting on my next trip.

This place deserves a five star for the food but the wait time is just horrible. The waitress told me it will take a while for the order. She should have instead clarified that it will take 90 minutes, instead of saying a ‘while’. If you are not hungry and have nothing to do, go ahead to this place.

Great Thai food in the north end of Hilton Head Island. Food is always freshly prepare and delicious. Not an extensive menu for lunch but all the basics you would want.

Amazing experience. The ambience is perfect to relax. Due to covid, outside seating. It was nicely decorated with lights, plastic covers to keep the cold put but still allowing fresh air to come in and they brought heaters. The staff are very polite and attentive. The food is delicious and many options. They have meat, tofu and vegetables. vegetarian friendly. To start we got vegetable spring rolls. They were the best ones we have had in a long time. Very crisp, hot and perfect with the sweet sauce. I ordered thai ginger with vegetables, my husband ordered sammies sizzling beef and it was very sizzling 🤤😂. For dessert fried coconut ice cream. It melts right in your mouth. Everything was beyond our expectations. I definitely recommend for any occasion.

Had a take out of their pad Thai lobster and massaman curry with shrimp and scallops. Pad Thai was pathetic... tasted like it was prepared a couple of days ago and reheated! Massaman curry was passable. I don’t understand the high rating of this place.

Good food served promptly. The lunch entrees are all available mild to very hot, however you choose. Both my friend & I ordered the vegetables with rice noodles. One had shrimp (5 large) & the other chicken. The portions were good sized. It was a little cool the day we went & the restaurant was on the cool side also.

I’m only here for a few days, but I already want to return! Went during lunch hours and ordered the Massaman curry with spring roll. The waiter was very attentive and friendly, the atmosphere was beautiful and calming, and the food was ready quickly. I would recommend this place to everyone.

They have a great lunch menu. Price is very reasonable. Food is always fresh, tasty and consistent. If you like to try different hot sauces, try their homemade hot sauce. Sooo good.

Amazing authentic Thai cuisine, great value and service. We will definitely be back! My hisband had the chicken terriyaki and I had the green curry. They were both delicious, I highly recommend the green curry if you enjoy a bit of spice without it being overwhelming.

Was here for lunch on 12/21/18. Lunch menu is limited. I had ordered a egg noodle soup and a chicken basil dish. Both were okay, they came with a egg roll. Portions were small but justified for the low price. I wish I could have tried more of the menu. But based upon my experience car three stars suffices.

I saw great reviews for this restaurant and wanted a quick lunch before heading home from Hilton Head. It was also one of the few places that was open before for lunch. Very cozy establishment. The server was excellent, courteous, and came to the table frequently. Bathrooms were clean. The music playlist was excellent.

I try to order the pad thai at every Thai restaurant I visit and this was no exception. I ordered Pad Thai medium spice and it was the perfect Blend of taste and Spice for me. I would definitely go there again and I recommend it highly.
