Since moving to New Kensington this has become my go-to Thai place for take out! Their website makes ordering online super simple and my food is always ready quickly. I really like their crab rangoons, chicken pad thai, and tom kha soup- the flavors are always fresh and delicious. They have all the typical Thai dishes with their comforting flavors.
My first time ordering from here and my goodness, did it hit the spot. I love that you can select your spice level - you can also ask for a spice packet on the side and spice to your liking. While every dish was delicious, the dumpling curry was by far my favorite. The pork filling was tender and flavorful, and the broth was bright, creamy and just plain yummy. The Tom Kha soup was flavorful and even better when paired with spoonfuls of the jasmine rice. This was my first time having pad See-Ew, and it won't be the last. The chewiness of the wide rice noodles combined with the carrots, broccoli, chicken and egg threads with the savory aspect of the sauce was chefs kiss. And not to be left out, but the mango sticky rice was the perfect end to my meal - the mango was the right level of ripeness and she combined with the sweet and salty aspect of the sticky rice, it was a wonderful treat. I will absolutely be back!
Cute little Thai restaurant. The food was good, but the curry was a little watery and could have thickened up a bit. Spice level was good at 6 for folks that like a bit of kick. The crab rangoons were very cream cheesey, which is a plus for folks that don't care for seafood like myself. The water was tap water and didn't taste like it had any filtering.
Overall decent Thai restaurant, but not my first pick.
This place is amazing!! Our favorite little place to grab drinks, dinner and dessert! The people are awesome and very sweet. We thoroughly enjoy coming here!!
Drinks: • Honeydew bubble milk tea
• Strawberry bubble milk tea w/ boba
Appetizer: Dee Dee Wing’s
Dinner: Garlic entree w/ beef
Pineapple fried rice w/ beef
Couldn't wait for Dee Dee's to open! My husband and I tried several items. Thai Bubble Milk Tea and Jasmine Honey Tea (non milk tea), both delicious and thirst quenching, but we both prefer the Jasmine Honey Non Milk. The Tom Yum Soup with shrimp added was fantastic! We had it made with a level 7 heat. The pineapple 🍍 pork fried rice was by far our favorite. The rice had an amazing chared flavor and the sweetness of the pineapple was killer. I had Paradise Chicken with a creamy peanut sauce. The flavor can be a bit intense on its own but once mixed with Jasmine rice your taste buds will sings. My husband had beef curry with Jasmine rice and the flavors were perfect, just enough spice, heat, citrus and sour. Lastly we had the Thai custard with sweet sticky rice! F***KING mind blowing 🤯! Warm, creamy, overly sweet and addictive 😋 perfect paired with a hot cup of tea.
TERRIBLE SERVICE!! WORST SERVICE OF MY LIFE!!
Very disappointed First time here. We have been sitting here for 45 minutes after we ordered and STILL no drinks or appetizers. There is one lady working here and she just keeps doing the to go orders and not taking care of the tables. I am here for my birthday dinner with friends for the first time and am wildly disappointed. If our food doesn’t come out soon we are leaving.
I FINALLY got the waitress to give us drinks when I asked her to cancel our food, we are leaving. She only brings TWO of us our water, didn’t bring the other girl her water. This is unacceptable. I have been a server. This older Asian lady has no business working here with such horrendous service.
Food came out and it was COLD. Mine wasn’t the dish I ordered.
I have no idea how on Earth people are eating this place highly. This was the worst experience and service I had in my entire long life. I’ve traveled all over the US and the rest of the world. Awful awful awful.
They deserve to go out of business.
This place is outstanding not only for the food but also the quality of service. The young man who was taking care of my family was attentive and very friendly.
We got a huge mix of food and all were delightful and if you see my other reviews you will clearly see Thai is my favorite so here is my review against 40 others in that area.
In regards to the dark brown sauce used for dumplings this place is the new champion and gas displaced Smiling Banana Leaf as my favorite for this type of sauce.
The rice soup, not offered anywhere else and was extremely good.
The hot teas, this place has the best I have had. The hot ginger team I had was sweetened perfectly and had a wonderful taste with a peppery follow through.
The classic staples of all Thai places here in Pittsburgh on regards to soup. The Tom Yum here was as good as I have had here in Pittsburgh, the broth was an outstanding balance of sweet and sour and it was stocked with with all the usuals that were also cooked perfectly. The Tom Kha soup here was different then a lot of other Thai places in the array the broth was thinner and less coconut cloudy but the taste of the coconut was as strong as the really milky Tom Kha I have had at other places, it tasted great and would rate 2nd in terms of the Pittsburgh area for me.
Alright noodle dishes time, they have a lot of them, more than most, so here is the general summary based on what we got. The different noodle types we got were all cooked perfectly the flavors matched expectations for what we got and the portion size was very good.
Finally the proteins, the meats here are straight up expectional and top tier for Pittsburgh. The chicken wasn't overcooked, the beef was the good lean kind and not that cheap fatty kind, the seafood was legit and not imitation kind.
So overall this places takes the number three spot on my Thai list but it's really close to 1 and 2 and beats both my top tier in regards to the dipping sauce and teas.
Maenam Thai continues to be my number one because of the Maenam pork soup which no other places has followed by red orchid as their level 10 is a true level 10 but I will for sure be making this one of my go to Thai places because it's very good and the distance to it is the same as Maenam and this place is opened on Sundays whereas Maenam is closed and Sundays are my favorite day for Thai.
If you in the area and Thai is on your mind this is a great place to stop for some good food.

Great local Thai. Always fast and delicious.

Food was delicious. But when they ask you what heat scale you want, err on the side of caution. The nice lady tried to warn me! My face was on fire. The menu is expensive and they have very detailed descriptions. They also have a smaller portion lunch menu.
I think this is a great little gem in Springdale. Very unassuming from outside but quaint and cozy inside. I've always experienced friendly service and have enjoyed all the food that I've eaten here.
Very nice restaurant and excellent food and service
Love this place. Everything I've had here has been phenomenal. They even took the shrimp out of the spring rolls for me. Great service and a very relaxed atmosphere. Would highly recommend.
They're the best Curry and Noodles I've had this side of town!
The food was incredible, but what really made our meal extra enjoyable was our server Donovan! Extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome for our first visit! We will be back! 🙂
Note: I also loved that they had dairy-free bubble tea! It is so hard to find that clearly marked at a thai place. And it was delicious!
Consistently good Thai takeout food, a good choice if you're local. Recommend getting duck, it has crispy skin! The panang curry, drunken noodles, and pad thai are our favorites.
We will definitely be back !!!
Bun and his wife are the sweetest people. We originally went to Thai Table and Kitchen in Bloomfield and were told about their new location, Dee Dee Thai. The food is absolutely delicious EVERY TIME. You will never have to worry about quality. I absolutely recommend.
The food was tasty and a good price. Very clean restaurant. Nice sized portions. Seafood entree with veggies was my jam and my tongue was dancing in a good way. Scallops and shrimps paired well with my tummy.Like peanut butter and jelly. Oh yeah!!!
With the disclaimer I am no expert on authentic Thai food, I think this place is excellent. It’s a small local establishment that seems to generate the vast majority of its business through takeout. They offer a lot of the classic Thai takeout items and they do them well.
I’ve had the curry, lo mein, and fried rice among others. These have all been delicious. I’m also no expert on spice level so I can’t help you much if you’re looking for transcendent spice levels.
When we are looking for a flavorful and fast meal, this is one of the top contenders.
If I was to ever enter a restaurant and order one of everything, it would be at Dee Dee Thai Restaurant. I have been coming here for about a year and every new dish I try is my new favorite from the curries to the noodles to the appetizers. A true hidden gem in sleepy Springdale.
Great find for Thai!
Absolutely wonderful- got the shrimp Pad Thai, was outstanding. Very pleasant environment.
Had wanted to try this place out for a long time and boy oh boy am I glad I finally stopped in! My husband and I shared some apps, the fried calamari was some of the freshest calamari I had ever had. The ginger tea was so warm and spicy and a little sweet, a perfect accompaniment to my food. He had the pineapple fried rice with crab and it was delicious and fresh, and I had the tamarind crispy duck and it was everything I wanted out of it. This isn’t one of those Thai places that holds back on the spice so be mindful when you order, I went with a 6 but will probably go for a 5 next time, my husband did a ten and will probably do a Thai ten next time! Can’t wait to come back! It wasn’t busy when we went and the lady working the counter was very friendly and helpful!
Great bubble tea - prompt, friendly service. Welcoming and clean interior. Menu has a large selection of items to choose from.
Food was delicious. The soup was outstanding. The curry was flavorful. The dumplings and pot stickers were very good. The duck wasn’t very good though. Lacked flavor and chewy. The shrimp was slightly over cooked. Even still, delicious place and will definitely order again, very good overall.
Dee Dee Thai Restaurant was delicious! I didn't get pictures of everything, only the Panang Curry with Chicken. We also had Wonton Soup, which had bean sprouts and delicious dumplings, Tom Kha Soup, which was amazing, and Eggplant with Basil and veggies. Every bite was wonderful. We also had a Custard Sticky Rice dessert that I want more of! The server was fantastic. I can't wait to come back.
Exceptional Thai meal.
Hidden gem in Springdale. The food was amazing. The atmosphere was cozy, clean, and peaceful. I absolutely enjoyed myself, the food, and the milk tea! I'm recommending it to everyone I know.
Very flavorful. Green curry delicious. Nice atmosphere. Small place.
I enjoyed the steamed buns and Pad Thai!
Food was great and so was the service. Lots of gluten free options. We will definitely be back 🙂
This place is outstanding not only for the food but also the quality of service. The young man who was taking care of my family was attentive and very friendly.

Got the dee dee pad Thai with chicken. Spiciness level of 5. It was good and spicey and very tasty!
The chicken was slightly dry but not enough to remove a star from my rating.
Very delicious!
Great food with quick polite staff
Dee dee-licious
Very tasty, they can make it pretty spicy too if youre looking for that.
As someone who's traveled to Bangkok, Thailand and developed a love for their cuisine, I was thrilled to discover Dee Dee Thai Restaurant in the AK Valley. The food here is as close to authentic Thai cuisine as you can get, and it's clear that the owners work tirelessly to deliver quality dishes. I especially appreciate that they offer boba drinks as well! If you're a fan of Thai food, do yourself a favor and give Dee Dee Thai Restaurant a try. You won't be disappointed.
This place is amazing!! Our favorite little place to grab drinks, dinner and dessert! The people are awesome and very sweet. We thoroughly enjoy coming here!!

My husband and I both had pad Thai. The heat levels were perfect. The meat portions were good. Great service.
Food was good and customers service is wonderful. Good people and good food. All I can ask for! Recommend
Food was amazing and beautiful! Great service - fast and welcoming. Peaceful atmosphere.
Ordered the red curry noodle and was sp disappointed. Menu says it comes with bean sprouts, but it had none. Said it came with basil and there 3 small leaves. Bamboo shoots were hard and chewy and not cooked through. The chicken tasted like it was cooked in water. This really is not what I expected when ordering noodle curry and I've had noodle curry at other Thai restaurants in Pittsburgh.
First time customer but I likely won't be back.
Having eaten Thai food in Blawnox, Monroeville, Verona, Pittsburgh and everywhere in between and beyond we were excited to try this based on the reviews.
I encourage you to try for yourself, but we were disappointed.
Prices are higher than other Thai food in the area, portion sizes are smaller and flavor was lacking:
The red curry chicken lacked flavor; was thin and lacking in vegetables. The chicken was slightly rubbery. The peppers were too firm, more than al dente.
The summer rolls contained little more than lettuce. They had no mint or crunchy vegetables within.
Lastly, the Tom Yum was too acidic and salty likely from the tomatoes and had a strong flavor of cabbage which it did contain.
Amazing yellow curry, after eating had to immediately ordered one to go too! Definitely will become a regular stop for us.
Got take out and bubble tea. Guy at the front desk was really friendly. Spice level was really good! Super delicious goodprice for lunch!
This place is a SCAM.
The online menu does not match the menu they have in house. I placed a takeout order, over the phone, based on the online menu. While ordering, I specifically mentioned that I wanted the lunch order. When I went to pick it up, I was told my total is $15. I questioned him as this was 50% more than the price listed online. I was told the curry I ordered is not on the lunch menu... but it sure is listed on their online menu. Even if the menu's are different, he should've told me that a lunch order wasn't an option over the phone. Instead of charging me the advertised price of $10, he had me pay the dinner pricing. I should not have to pay more than what is advertised online.
Here's the kicker, I recently got a lunch order of curry from this place.. literally like 2 or 3 weeks ago... but I certainly won't be back now.
To start, this is a decent option for Thai if you don't want to go into the city. It's convenient location for us and while it wasn't amazing, it was good enough. The 3 star rating is because there were several things that could have been improved on. We will try other items on the menu, so I do recommend it with the following in mind.
We ordered the Thai samosas, Red Curry w/tofu, Massaman curry w/tofu, Mango Bubble Tea, and Thai Tea bubble tea.
The samosas had a good flavor and nice crisp. A little oily.
Both curries were watery and a little under seasoned, but the vegetables still had a nice bite to them and the rice was appropriately fluffy and a little sticky. The tofu was a bit more oily than I'd have liked and gave the impression the tofu was fried at a lower temperature for longer vs higher temp quick fry.
The massaman curry had one small piece of potato and, for some reason, avocado. I've never seen a massaman with avocado and will admit it was strange, also not mentioned anywhere in the description. The nuts on it were cashew, not peanut. For us this was not a problem, but it should be specified on the menu.
The Thai bubble tea was under steeped but decent. The mango had no tea in it and tasted like a melted mango milkshake. I know a lot of bubble tea shops omit the tea, but it is disappointing.
The biggest issue with the bubble teas by far was the boba/tapioca pearls. They were overcooked and incredibly soft. The worst part, though, is that they were obviously not cooked in a syrup, a very important step. They are completely bland without sweetness and the combination of these two qualities made us throw out the boba portion of the drinks. It felt like the bubble tea was added to the menu as an after thought. I love all types of bubble tea but if this was my first experience with it I probably wouldn't try it again.
Your chicken was very dry. I won't order again
👍Everything was delicious & look forward to eating here again! THANKS for a great meal from INNERSTRENGTH
Fantastic. One of the top Thai restaurants in Pittsburgh.
Excellent food !! Extremely delicious!!
Wish the serving of rice was a little bigger and pop wasn't only available in the can but overall, not a bad place. No kids meals on the menu but you can put a couple sides together to make something work for a small eater. Green curry was good.
Excellent food and service. Pad Thai , and spicy fried rice. Big portions and tastes great
The food was yummy. Never had curry, it's hot and good!
I've eaten at several Thai restaurants in the Pittsburgh area and this one is the best.
Outstanding little Thai place. I had the spicy fried rice with tofu and it was on point for only $11. Definitely recommend this place. Great people, all so nice.
Was very excited to try this place by my house, and was not at all disappointed! Everything we had from there was delicious and well made. The Pad Thai was delicious and the pineapple fried rice was unexpectedly awesome! The crab rangoons were pretty decent, but the Tom kha soup with chicken was amazing! The chicken in all the dishes had a great texture and the spices were just right on the spicy scale. Definitely planning a return visit ASAP!
Absolutely delicious Thai food from a lover of all things Thai.
Please note that the tamarind duck is actually a half portion as I had started to eat it before snapping a picture!
We frequent all the cities Thai restaurants from Thai gourmet and Thai cuisine in Bloomfield to Pusadee Garden in Lawrenceville and Thai Place in both Wexford & Fox Chapel.
.
I can truthfully say that Deedee’s ranks right at the top with Pusadee’ss Garden ✅
.
The ambience and the decor are lovely. Establishment is clean quiet and peaceful. The food is utterly delicious and very thoughtful.
.
A quick 12 minute jaunt from most parts a Fox Chapel make it a wonderful option - especially considering it’s price point is a few dollars lower and it sits near blocks away from Glenn’s custard.
.
Make it a whole evening with dinner at DD’s mini golf at Glen’s and finishing up with custard from Glen’s ✅ 🍦
Been to a lot of Thai places through the years, but the Roasted Duck Curry with a spicy level of 8 might have just been the best dish I can ever remember.
Everything was delicious from the crispness of the duck, the freshness of the pineapple and peppers, spiciness/flavor of the curry sauce, and the seared cherry tomatoes. Just wish I had taken a picture to share here.
Spicy level 8 got my nose running and opened up the sinuses, which was great.
The portion size was generous enough to fill this 6'6" 240lb man with a big appetite.
We went on a Saturday night at 8PM and the place was empty, though they were doing plenty of takeout orders.
Service and the owners are absolutely adorable. They are kind and caring people who truly want to run a good neighborhood business.
Absolutely
Beautiful
Clean
Genuine Dishes
Generous Portions
Great Customer Service
Ordered pickup for 3. Order was accurate. Food tasted fresh and did not lack flavor. Price is fair.
We absolutely LOVED this place, but it just changed ownership and the food is very different and not nearly as good. Noodles overcooked and spicy when we asked for no spice. I don't think we will be coming back to try anything else based on this experience.
So so good! Crab Rangoon is delicious and the chicken pad Thai at a 3out of 10 spicy had a good tingle on my lips.
Best Thai place in the area hands down. Super delicious, our server Tres was very nice. I hope to come back soon with friends.
So glad to have Dee Dee at the end of my street! So good. I got the Pad Kee Mao at 4/10 spicy and it’s delicious and perfectly spicy! Can’t wait to go back
Good Thai food and really good prices
Very happy, always consistent, great flavors.
I heard there was a recently opened Thai spot in Springdale, so naturally, I had to try it out. I wanted to stop in just for a quick snack, so when placing an order for dinner delivery, I added an order of Dee Dee's Thai custard with sticky rice.
The place itself is very hole in the wall from the outside. BUT, the food is very good. I didn't get to try much, but this was a great Thai custard. The portion was excellent (although the price is quite high on Doordash at $8, you can get it for $6 directly. For $6, this is a great portion).
The flavors were exactly how you want them to be. It's subtly sweet, slightly eggy custard atop of delicious, slightly firm sticky rice with some coconut milk mixed in. If I was being picky, maybe a little more coconut milk would have been even better (like coconut milk splashed on top!)
This place also serves all the Thai staples, like pad see ew, pad Thai, curries, dumplings, soups, rolls, salads, rangoons, fried rice, and so on. They also have some more unique items like BBQ, steam buns, zabb noodles, and others. Dee Dee even serves boba, ranging from Thai Tea milk tea to honeydew, mango, chocolate, strawberry, and even taro!
All in all, I'm so thrilled to have this place in Springdale. They offer an excellent menu with good prices and some unique items as well. The Thai custard and sticky rice I tried tonight were awesome!
Great little place. Good food and yummy bubble tea drinks! 100% recommend
I’ve had the fried rice and pad see ew and both are so good!
I have to confess that Springdale is not the kind of place that I would expect to find a good Thai restaurant, but I was extremely pleasantly surprised! The pad Thai that I had was perfectly spiced, with just the right amount of sour, and was absolutely delicious! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Thai food.
This place was amazing! Found them on uber eats and don't regret ordering it! The Mango Bubble Bobba Tea is delicious. Recommend also getting the Stir-Fried garlic meal (comes w/white rice), and you pick how spicy you want it. This place is a hidden gem.
I took out 4 different dinners and they were all excellent. They were pineapple fried rice with chicken, duck with noodles, rice soup and fried rice with chicken. They were fresh they were delicious, my whole family raved about their dinners.
I got the mango curry duck and it was delicious and made to the perfect spice level. I normally find it very difficult to get food spicy enough for my tastes so any chili lovers that feel the same should definitely give this place a try.
Amazing ! The dipping sauce for the crab Rangoon was the best thing I have ever tasted. I will be working my way through the menu.
I’ve been here twice now and have tried several dishes and everything I’ve tried has been fantastic. The steamed pork buns were to die for. They have a nice assortment of noodle and curry dishes. Their menu has more unique dishes than a typical Thai restaurant. They have even managed to make something as basic as fried rice good on its own.
I’m so glad to have this restaurant near by. We definitely needed more Thai food around here.
I tried it for the first time tonight and loved it! Everything was delicious and the service was on point, I highly recommend!
My husband and I were so excited to see a Thai restaurant coming to the neighborhood! We couldn’t wait to give it a try! We stopped in last night with some friends and had a great experience!
The food was DELICIOUS and they had so many options! My husband loves his Thai food spicy, while I prefer the milder side. They had dishes that we both enjoyed! He ordered the Pad Thai and dumplings and I ordered the Thai Fried Rice and Crab Rangoons!
We will definitely be back!
Best Thai food in the whole area! Been ordering weekly since they opened. Love this new place!
Happy With A New Restaurant
This establishment opened this month (March 2022). I looked forward to a new Thai Restaurant to join two restaurants to the south. Bottom Line:
It was worth the drive to Springdale.
** First, Dee Dee Thai has both traditional dishes and creative offerings using salmon and other fish. Beyond peanut and curries, they have sauces like garlic, basil, sweet and sour, and spicy brown: lots of flavor options.
** Second, they spice as ordered and don't make the assumption that customers don't "really" want or like spicy food. My "number 6" noodles had a nice kick.
** Third, everything was fresh, with ample portions and reasonable prices. I love places that offer good value. Dee Dee Thai didn't disappoint.
Great food, the dumpling soup and chicken teriyaki were great! I love that there is a 1-10 spice option.
My girlfriend, and I live right up the road, and we were both super excited about this restaurant opening because we both love Thai. Dee Dee’s did not disappoint. The mango fried rice was absolutely amazing, along with their fried dumplings. The milk teas were fantastic as well. The customer service was wonderful too, very friendly, and welcoming. We just found one of our go too spots, and we’re super excited about it!
Delicious
very tasty food The interior of the shop is beautifully arranged and comfortable.
Ordered take-out for the first time from this place on 3/12/2022. FANTASTIC FOOD! Springdale and the local boroughs are missing critical elements to better the restaurant vibe outside of Pittsburgh, and Dee Dee Thai Restaurant changes the culinary competition. My wife and I typically order from Hing Wong -Chinese food, or the other local pizza joints, but this is now our new favorite. Zabb noodles have the perfect spice and level of heat to pair with the fried dumplings on the side. Pad See Ew was brilliant but the spice level didn’t match my expectations, so go up a level on the requested spice to kick up a notch. The steam buns were deliciously delicate and full of flavor from the pork with an unbelievable sauce to go with it. We will be proud regulars at this business.
Great food!
This place just opened and they already seem to have it down! Food, price everything very good. We got the pineapple fried rice and massaman curry. So good!!
