We were running a little behind but the food was still amazing. It wasn't until after we left that I realized I left my purse (not my wallet) inside the closet restaurant. I was able to get a hold of someone on their FB page via someone else's FB page and they were so kind to meet me out there ! Otherwise I was stuck in a city with no keys to my car and couldn't have made
it home that night. Thank you to the person who handles their FB page for helping ! It was greatly appreciated. Very busy place and very tasty food !
Make sure to grab a menu and order at the counter. Also grab your water/drinks and silverware. The food is really yummy and anything under a 3 spice level is very minimal heat. It's mostly just crushed red pepper on top. The pineapple fried rice with shrimp and the beef with broccoli was lovely.
I didn’t know what I wanted for dinner. This Pad Thai cured me.
I was in Thailand when I was 18-19 years old and have struggled to find really great Pad Thai on the east coast since then. You wouldn’t expect Hendersonville, NC, but this little gem is the real deal.
I got level 4 spice on the Pad Thai and it was truly spicy! Cleared the sinuses! And mango sticky rice for dessert was icing on the cake.
Highly recommend this little road stop.
We love this place. The food is absolutely delicious, they have friendly and helpful staff, and a very pleasant atmosphere. We come at least one per month, but would come every single day if we could. Peak times can be very busy, to plan ahead - they are worth the wait (if there even is one). 10/10 :)
The FOOD is absolutely amazing. Caters to gluten and dairy allergies and the menu is INCREDIBLY detailed.
We tried a little of everything and everyone (including kids aged 10, 8 and 1) were absolutely in love with their food.
10/10 will be back every time we come through town!
This was me and my girlfriends first time here. It was busy so that was a good sign, the place is also cute inside and the atmosphere was nice. The menu says they are famous for the green curry so I had to try it and it did not disappoint it was really good I would order it again for sure. I chose the hot curry and it had just the right amount of heat. My gf had the drunken noodles and the broccoli chicken stir fry she says it was good. If you're not used to thai food or your sensitive to spice be careful have Pepto on hand.
Would've given 5 stars, but the cashier was very rude, very nasty attitude.
The food was absolutely amazing and the prices were pretty reasonable.
I learned that after 4pm-, you are only allowed to order the "Really Hungry " portion, which was a really big portion.
Overall, we may give this place another shot - just hope the cashier is in a better mood.
Really awesome food but REALLY inconsistent in their spice levels. You might order a level 4 and one day it'll be like level 1 and next time it'll be a level 8. Super frustrating part of this restaurant. Maybe order spice on the side
Eaten here prob 100 times and called in an order at 733 they close at 8, she wanted me there in ten minutes but I live in Saluda so said it would be 15 and pay in cash she said but we close in ten minutes pay by card, I said no I can’t (strict with my card use and don’t like giving numbers over the phone) again said I can’t and if u can’t accept cash I’ll have to order another time, she could of cared less….if it had been 750 I get it or if she said our policy is now only card for to go I get it, lastly why should I pay extra 3 or 5 percent for card use, when cash is still a viable currency

Usually love this place but got it last night for me my sister and her husband and all 3 of us had major stomach issues almost immediately after eating. not sure if it was food poisoning or what but… i have never had this issue before here and am extremely disappointed.
The delicious coconut cake was brought to our table . Only one, big, slice was left for the day but we got two plates and two forks
I went with the intention of getting a spicy papaya salad (somtam) but they were out of papaya so I had the green curry (gang khieo waan gai) which was delicious
Worst pad thai I have ever had. A big blob of overcooked noodles, with chicken, peanuts and pepper flakes just thrown on top. It was suppose to have carrots and cabbage. I found 2 tiny slivers of grated carrot and 2 pieces of cabbage or onion (I really couldn't tell because it was so salty.) I had the chicken and a few other bites, and tossed it out. Based on the reviews some people give them, I expected much more.
Delicioso !
I love their food. It may be the best Thai I've had on the east coast.
Nothing fancy, just the best Thai food around at very reasonable prices. We visit them weekly.
Literally the best.
The food is so authentic and so yummy! :) Highly recommend!
Excellent Thai food, green curry and the grilled chicken salad are our go-to dishes. Great for take out when we want real fresh made food.
Great food in a very relaxed atmosphere.

Delicious!! The pho I got was so very very temperature hot, it took a while before I could eat it, but wow, it was so good!
Very good curry, but they are skimpy with the vegetables!
Would've given 5 stars, but the cashier was very rude, very nasty attitude.

👍👍👍👍👍
Food quality is always good at Boon Choo.
6 days after Hurricane Helene my family bought takeout from here and we came down with food poisoning from 3 different dishes that night and the next day. We have eaten here a lot over the years and have watched a slow degradation in service quality, but this takes the cake. We'll never be eating here again, should have thrown out all food that was stored while power was out, if that was the cause.
Good flavorful food. I've been to Thailand. Not much difference.
Great place. They will make substitutions, clean their grill, skip oyster sauce...they are really awesome. Super honest and wonderfully friendly. Clean.
They can be a little slow when they are short handed, but they make up for it with food that is superb. One of my favorite spots.
Comfort food: PINK NOODLE SOUP
They need to fix the AC!
Awesome food!
Great Asian noodles and local brews!" Fresh and delicious. One of our favorites!
Great food
Food was mediocre, rap music, and got our orders wrong.
We arrived approximately 45 minutes before closing time. After ordering our food we waited at least 20 minutes for our food. My son received his food first and was finished before myself and daughter in law received our food, I went and asked what the delay was and I was told different cook. My son had to sit and wait on us to eat. While eating a young man started putting up the chairs on the tables then started sweeping. When he started sweeping at our table I asked to please wait so it wouldn't stir up dust while we were eating. We were 1 of 3 tables still eating. Not the best experience. Food was good.
Absolutely delicious! If you are in town you MUST try Boon Choo, no exceptions! Real Thai made by the Thai owner. Seriously like no Thai I've ever had and I've had a lot!
Love the food and the staff. They are all really nice
I didn't have high expectations but didn't want any of the fast food options at that exit while traveling. We found the food quite tasty, the heat level was just what we asked for. We had pineapple fried rice, massaman curry and pineapple curry. We were all happy with our dishes which were very flavorful. You have two portion sizes to choose from, hungry and very hungry. We chose the smaller size and still had leftovers to take home. It's too far from home to make it a regular thing, but I would gladly go there again if I was in the area. The atmosphere was nothing special, but that wasn't what I was there for so it didn't matter.
Genuinely the best Thai I’ve ever had in my life. 10/10 everything
I didn’t know what I wanted for dinner. This Pad Thai cured me.

My wife and I really enjoy this restaurant
Best Thai food around. Delicious, authentic, and affordable.
Be careful ordering Thai hot they will burn you.
Recommended here if you’re looking for any fried rice and any soups
The food was amazing a had beef pho and beef fried rice, one of the best I ever had in USA. I recommend.
Best food i ever had
Although we’ve lived here for quite a few years, this was my first experience here. I picked up the Thai Fried Rice around noon so I’d have something to warm up for dinner.
I thought the meal was quite good. I’m sure it would have been even better if I ate it right away.
I thought this meal was better than the other local Thai restaurant.
The lady behind the counter was very friendly. I noticed that they offer beer and wine.
I wish the entree menu was a little bigger.
I will definitely return!
Incredibly delicious food! Thank you for the friendly and attentive service.
We love eating at Boon Choo about once per week is our go-to place. Food is fresh, delicious and service is great. The environment is good too!!!
The staff very nice and the food is excellent. One of the best in Henderson county. I recommend as a top choice. We visit there weekly and the staff remembers us and our orders. You can’t go wrong with them.
*We have now continued to make boon Choo a weekly visit as the food and service is excellent. You can’t go wrong by visiting this restaurant.
Seating is a little tight but honestly this place probably has the best Thai food in Western North Carolina. I've eaten there several times and never had anything bad.
Tai Fried Rice, yum
Boon Choo was great. The food far excided our expectations. We had a meal and experience.
Walk in it’s 90° inside the building. I said something about this. Oh the air is it our maximum level must’ve been set on 85.
Asked for four lemons they said oh we charge after two but they want $17 for a bowl of noodles here. What a joke. Food quality not that great don’t waste your time.
My favorite place to eat in Hendersonville.
FYI BEFORE YOU ORDER: Spiciness is not a sliding curve. #1-3 are a different more flavorful spice. If you like spice I would recommend #3. #4&5 are a different spice ingredient and will melt your face.
How dare you get a subway sandwich when this sweet little Thai place is a step away! We were driving through town and hit this shop up. I am happy to support a small business any day, but this food is worth going out of your way for. The Pineapple Fried Rice tasted like no other fried rice I’ve ever had. My whole family loved it! Like it really was crafted artfully and professionally and it was a party in my mouth. I need to watch this made. I will never be satisfied again! The Massaman Curry was also crazy good. Please stop here. Put the sandwich down You will NOT regret it.
One of the best Thai places you can go. Food is fast and always hot. Never disappoints. Also have many gluten free options.
The owner is a wonderful woman and always friendly so is her staff.
Excellent Thai food, reasonably priced.
Food is over priced. Was told I could only get take out since I got there at 7:40 and they close at 8. That’s fine, but they would not let me pay cash. I had to use my card and they would not waive the 3.5% cc fee. If you’re making me pay with a card, the business should cover the fee to use the card.
Best Thai Food in WNC! So exciting to see owner, start as a waitress, work hard and obtain the the American dream!🤩🌺🙏
Food was delicious. Excellent flavors. Service was warm and cordial. Reasonably priced.
Red Curry w tofu was ok, not great. Very runny with very little veggies or tofu. Ginger rice soup was good flavor but not very much chicken in it. Tom yum soup was horrible. Honestly, the worst I've ever had. Both soups were so hot they melted the plastic lids in the containers on the way back to hotel. The parking lot was really tight and hard to maneuver. It was nice they had a drive through to pick up. But our food took 25 minutes longer than expected and we still had to go in and get it. They weren't super welcoming. Food was appropriately spiced to how we ordered it. It was a cute little place inside and not too loud.
This was the very first time I've been here and my fiance and I love Thai food and thought we would try it. We were very surprised at the selection as well as the portion and the tastiness of the food. We will definitely be back when we are back in town. Overall it was my favorite place to eat while we were visiting!
Secret Wife chicken yummy.
The green curry was very very good I'll be back soon!
Friendly casual atmosphere with amazing and authentic Thai food. Yummy!
Best pad Thai I’ve ever had !
Staff and food outstanding.
Excellent food. Very casual dining
Best Thai South of Asheville
Good food, very fast service. Hotness scale is pretty accurate, 4 is pretty darn hot where 3 is prob good for most
Absolutely delicious Thai food! I’ve ordered many dishes and every dish is exceptional. Haven’t dined-in yet, but every delivery is prepared and delivered to perfection. I love spicy, therefore everything I order is “Thai hot.” I personally recommend the Pad Thai, Phat Mama’s Ramen, Red Curry, Tom Yom Soup and the Tom Kha soup. Will definitely be placing many future orders.
Great food and staff.
Everything we have tried is delicious and the heat is tailored just right.
Wonderful place for Thai food! Lovely employees. Will definitely eat here again.
Sorry for the inside of my car pictures, but stopped at BoonChoo Thai Express before work tonight. I got the Boat Noodle Soup, beef. The broth was developed and spicy like I requested. But 6.00 add on of beef was 4 small pieces of tasteless meat. Otherwise, the vegetables were nowhere to be found, no sprouts, no cabbage, no cilantro, but a boatload of carrots.Maybe its better to order this as dine in. Since it's super close to work, I will try again
What a great spot! Food was delicious & good portions.
Quick. Good food! Good portion sizes. The noodle type was not what I thought it was but it could’ve been my bad. It was still very tasty!
They seem to mess up orders routinely now; used to be top notch. Will not order take out without confirming I got what I ordered. They do not feel constrained by their own menu; often forgetting to put ingredients into dishes. Don't trust them anymore. Nothing has changed; I placed an order today for noodles with spice 2, NO spice at all on the noodles. Portions are now smaller and prices are higher. December 2023.
Ordered the fresh rolls with chicken. Too little sauce and NO chicken anywhere. Ordered Pad Thai but it had a funny taste I didn't much like. Perhaps I ordered the wrong things but I won't be ordering from here anymore.
Easily one of my favorite restaurants in town. Great staff too. Every dish is simply delicious and the entire family loves it. Highly recommend!
Guys, you have a fine establishment; HOWEVER, I beg of you to get on the DoorDash train. My vow to you: I will single-handedly make it a worthwhile investment for you to do so. You have my 5 stars as-is. 6 (7 I daresay?) if you were available on the DoorDash. Keep up the good work, and I hope, one day, to see a stranger pull into my driveway with a hot plate of pad thai.
Excellent meal as always.
Quality has declined over the past year. Inconsistency is a major problem.
After reading all the reviews we decided to try Boon Choo and were disappointed. I had the sweet sour chicken, lots of vegetables but swimming in salty soy sauce. If we do try it again we'll ask for no soy sauce!
Really tasty, and super nice staff
Horrible greasy food. Rice paper was too hard to chew. Everything is overpriced. Not sure how this place gets such great reviews.
The food was incredible! The staff was pleasant and kind. First time eating thai food and now I want their recipes!!! It was also clean in the restaurant.
I'm sorry, but I don't think someone working a takeout window should ask for a Tip.
No frills. Place order at the counter, they give you a number to display at the table and they bring your order to you once it is ready. Real basic strip mall corner store. However, the curry was very good, and the Tom Yum soup was also very good!
Always too busy to provide service.
Little hidden gem we found while on a quick trip outside of Charlotte. Excellent service with superb quality Thai food. We had the noodle soup as well as a curry type dish with chicken. We had so much we took some home ate the rest later. Will recommend to anyone driving through the area.
Service was amazing and so was the food!
Had a delicious lunch, would absolutely come back soon and try something else. Got the Pad Woon Sen and the Fat Mama. Tons of fresh veggies and everything was well cooked/seasoned
I hate to be leaving an eh review here- but I add an extra 30+ mins to a 14 hour road trip just to get food here when I do this route. After looking forward to it all day and not making it early enough to eat in, I placed an order online for pickup. $90 with the tip to be treated like a criminal when I went in to pickup my order and stated my full name for it. There was plenty of other info that could have been asked for to verify my order was mine. Instead, I was sent to get my phone out of the car to prove this order because one of their employees gave someone an order without asking for their name or any info earlier in the day. I would have had no issue had her tone been less accusatory and rude off the bat. Disappointed that the fantastic food and generally great part of my trip was tainted by another rude old Karen. Hoping my tip did not go to her. If I was able to pull out a name like mine, a phone number, a $ total, and recite the whole order and the time it is placed it is pretty impossible that I would get it all correctly to successfully steal something. Your incompetence for some man earlier in the day should not dictate treatment of other customers.
Usually get takeout but today decided to eat-in. Although they were closing between lunch and dinner service, still offered me whatever I wanted to go. Chose the Tom Kha and fresh rolls. Soup was piping hot, perfectly spiced, and fresh rolls were perfection. 5-stars for food and gracious hospitality. Yet another reminder why we always choose Boon Choo!
The only Thai place worth repeating in the area! Always quick and rich with flavor. Warning..even the #2 level splice has a kick, so be ready to sweat if you're brave enough to go higher! Typically I can't say I'm a huge fan of takeout at many places because when you get home it is never the same, but that is not the case here. I often come here when I feel like having a hot home cooked meal but don't have the time and need something quick. They have a drive-thru available. My top pick items are the Tom Kha Soup, Phat Mama Noodles, Sweet and Sour Stir Fry and of course THAI DONUTS!
So good that my husband who has never eaten Thai food went back three times in one week. On his third visit I finally got to join him and loved it too! He had the Beef & Broccoli with #1 heat and I enjoyed the Panang Curry with Chicken and no heat added. Delicious!! Super friendly staff made that meal that much more enjoyable! And, it was packed all the way up until closing.
Always delicious! I always get takeout, so I can not vouch for the in dining in experience
Best Thai food in the area.
Great food. It’s flavorful, plentiful and fresh. I’ll be returning.
Will not be back, ordered food the tracker told me the food was ready for pickup I show up and they marked the order as done when it was not. Mistakes happen. I then wait over an hour waiting on my food to be made. The staff started getting rude with everyone in line, my self included. Waited over 2 hours for food. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Boonchoo Thai, where fast food meets Thai flavor, is a place I stumble upon when my taste buds demand a break from the norm. However, it's a bit like a rollercoaster ride, thrilling at times, but sometimes leaves you with an unpleasant stomach drop, thanks to their customer service.
During a recent phone order, I asked for curry with brown rice, only to get schooled on the 'proper' ordering protocol - all with the charm of a grumpy drill sergeant.
When picking up my food, the cashier held my card hostage until I muttered a tip amount. Tipping felt like an awkward confessional, not a private act of appreciation. Let's just say, Boonchoo needs a little more "chai-yen-yen" (cool heart) in their customer service, because right now, it's more sour than their tom yum soup.
Pad Tai hot level 3 was very hot but A+ GOOD. A definite repeat. I rarely give a 5.
Food is always really good quality. Good service. Good flavors of curry.
Yummy pad thai. Fresh and perfect seasoning. Looking forward to going again.
2023 update: terrific food. Phat mama is delicious. Definitely worth your time to check it out!
I had to go to work, which I work right next door at subway and I was craving some sugary snacks besides what I eat at Subway, so I decided to spend some money at this restaurant and get their donuts. If you have never gotten their donuts omg you should and you are missing out.Thank yll so much for making my day at work with those donuts.
I love their Pad Thai always get chicken and #3 heat. I wish that they would make it with spices instead of sprinkling on top.
Unfortunately I found a small pebble in my food and came close to breaking a tooth. Not fun. Plus, the pad kee mao is made with what tastes like spaghetti noodles rather than wide rice noodles - it’s just not good
Nice little Tia spot
Na
Great authentic Thai food and a very wide selection of food. I had the Panang Curry and it was delicious. This was my partner’s first foray into Thai food and he said it won’t be his last. Their salads are also incredible!!
Authentic Thai. Delicious!
Boon Choo has some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had and I seek out Thai food wherever I go. It’s also amazing how customizable their menu is for individual food needs.
Everything is good about this place. Staffs are nice and good service.
Something has changed. This was our favorite FR restaurant, but now we can't even tolerate the food.
The decline in food quality and taste has been happening over the last six months. Hopefully ownership will address the situation immediately. We appreciate this establishment and want more consistency. Thanks.
Something has gone wrong with the service!
Used to be great!
Now we are having so much trouble we’ve given up!
BestThai in WNC
Great food! 👍
The Pho is no where near what it's supposed to be. The broth was salty and brown looking, it's supposed to be transparent. It's a Vietnamese dish, my bad for ordering from a Thai restaurant.
I used to really enjoy their food. Lately, it doesn't matter what I ordered everything tastes the same. I'm going to take a break for a while maybe it will come back up to being really good again, I hope.
What happened? Two times eating takeout after years of incredible food...it was so disgusting will not waste any more money! So sad😥
Best Thai food in the greater Asheville areas.
This was our first visit, and the food was delicious. The restaurant is self-service. The staff is friendly,
attentive and available if needed.
We will definitely return.
Boon Choo used to be one of our favorite weeknight takeout places, but every time we get takeout, there is something missing or wrong about our order. This is unacceptable at the prices they charge. When it is good, it is really good, but when it is poor, it is really poor. Boon Choo is too inconsistent for us to keep spending money there.
I'm a regular, just know your spice level!
I would eat here every day if I could!!
Best Thai in Hendersonville
Drunkin Noodles amazing
I have loved Boon Choo from the time it opened. During Covid I supported Boon Choo by picking up food at the window. Over time the Panang curry gradually became more soupy with less vegetables. I wrote it off as the effects of Covid. But, my latest order was even soupier than before. I encourage the management to look into the content difference between the Panang Curry 4+ years ago to the present. My husband and I use to share and now there is no enough to do that.
The food was delicious and we didn’t wait long for our order to come out to us. You must order at the counter and you must clean your table when you’re done. You must get your own utensils and drinks. We would call this a no frills restaurant. They also charge 3.5% extra for card payments, so you might want to bring cash. There are few parking spots and not too many tables for eating in. If your main interest is very good food with little waiting, then this place comes highly recommended.
The curry was amazing!
I use to love this place. Decided to treat myself tonight. Order to-go my favorite pineapple fried rice with chicken and a couple other items. Got more like a Pineapple soup and white rice. I guess we all supposed to fry our own rice now. Highly disappointment. What a waste of money.
The food is REALLY yummy. Employees are helpful and kind. Restaurant is very clean and run efficiently. Would recommend!
Their food is delicious. You can pick the spiciness of your food; which is great since I have become a wimp in my old age. I recommend you save room for the donuts. They make them fresh, warm, crispy on the outside, light and airy on the inside.
We almost don't have the words to describe just how incredibly good Boon Choo is. Put it this way -- we plan long-distance road trips (we live in Michigan) so as to include overnight stops in Flat Rock just so we can have dinner here. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the food is simply off-the-charts wonderful. Flavors and freshness at levels that never disappoint. And a cozy place to dine in, and the room is always clearly full of devoted local regulars. Genuinely worth a trip.
They mean spicy when they say 5 spicy!
Disappointed. Read great reviews and expected better. We had Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles. Ordered late afternoon and meals seemed overcooked especially the vegetables in DN. Loaded with hot pepper flakes for heat on top. Don't know if we've ever had the heat delivered that way to a dish. Fresh spring rolls we're huge and good.
NEVER a bad experience! Great food and nice people!!! You won't be dissapointed and it's not overly expensive!
Love this local spot for great food and a casual, friendly atmosphere!
Best Thai food in town by far. Phat mama is always amazing and the appetizers are great too!
