I wish there was more sauce in the lomein. The noodles on top are not tasty at all, but the ones on the bottom of the container are tasty because have a little sauce.

I ordered for the first time from this place because they were one of the few places around me that have Honey Walnut Shrimp on their menu. I used the online ordering from their website and I was shocked at how quickly the food arrived on a Friday night too! From the first bite this has to be hands down the best Asian food I have ever tasted and probably top 5 meals of all time. From the sweetness of the honey glaze to the crispiness of the fried shrimp and walnuts to the salty flavor of the Vegetable fried rice! WOW TASTE BUD EXPLOSION!!!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE HONEY WALNUT SHRIMP and Will be coming back again.. One caution though it was a bit pricey, but to me well worth the money.

So tonight I call and ask usual it's for delivery, she already has my address in the system, small shrimp chow mein for my elderly grandmother, small plain lo mein for my 3yr old, then I order a few other things, duck soup (delicous), a combination meal for myself and 2 appetizers. Plenty of food for me to have lunch again tomorrow after work also. When the food arrives all of mine and the appetizers were great. The shrimp chow mean was in a large dish same as my combination platter!! (SMALL) and no crispy noodles!! The same with my sons plain lo men (SMALL). So now I'm looking for the receipt, NO RECEIPT? So I call them and I tell the woman that answers the phone that they sent me these big dishes not smalls? I should not be paying for the big dishes I did not order! She told me send them back and she will make me ones that are the right size in 15-20 minutes. I told her she is not allowed to take back food that she has delivery and left at an address. She told me "don't worry, we not gonna use it again. I just wanna make sure you get the right size". ACTUALLY How about speaking to the woman that took my order and then repeated it back to me then overcharged me and the driver who didn't give me the receipt. So someone knew they screwed it up and is trying to make me pay for it. Not going to happen. She told me I got what I paid for. Yes but not what I ordered! So be very careful ordering from Yan Asian

Ordered for a pick-up on a Sunday at 1:30. There is still no indoor dining right now (as of August 2021), but we were looking to do some takeout anyway. I was craving some pad Thai, so I got that, even though I knew it wasn't going to be very good since this is one of those "fusion" type restaurants. To my surprise, it was actually not terrible. The noodles had the right consistency to them, and they gave a lot of shrimp. It was super oily though, which was expected. They also give huge portions. I ate some for lunch and dinner, and still had a bit left for lunch the next day. I appreciated that they had lunch specials on Sundays too because mine came with a choice of a veggie or pork egg roll or a coke. Even though the pork egg roll was pretty terrible, I still appreciate that it came with an extra. But you should definitely opt for a soda instead. My husband had the three roll sushi special, which was very average.

Overall, the food was pretty mediocre but if you are in a pinch and craving some sort of Asian food, they'll probably have it.

Bought two chicken pad Thai. I got home and there were nuts on there. I called and the girl confirmed it was peanuts which I’m allergic to. I was upset bc I couldn’t eat it and I was starving. It didn’t say on the menu nor was I told there were peanuts on the dish when I ordered. Make sure to ask about potential dietary restrictions.

Sushi was absolutely delightful. Great portions, and very filling. Hats off to the chef!!

I get take out here maybe 2 or even 3 times a week. The food is sheer excellence and you can tell it was prepared with care. I always try to order something new and different and I'm never disappointed. The dumplings have perfect texture and their pad thai has just the right amount of spice to it. I always recommend this place to people I meet. The owners are the most friendliest and sweetest people. I always feel welcome there. Without a doubt the BEST asian cuisine in Rutherford!

This place deserves a review! Everything is so good the cheese wontons and the general TSO chicken well done! Portions are great as well!

Employees are nice but delivery took more than hour even though restaurant was 10 min away and sushi wasn’t that good it tasted old and smelled weird had to throw it away

The food delivery is fast and the food arrives fresh , however the quality and flavor is lacking . No spice on the dishes that would usually be spicy . The beef is chewy/ rubbery. Don’t even bother with the Thai curry dishes or Thai rice . The flavor is a 1 out of 5. I won’t be ordering from them again .

The best Pad Thai

I moved to Rutherford in 2017, and we had lunch at Yan almost every other day when we were looking for the place to rent. Now it’s 2023 and we have settled down here and own a place and we still order from yan. Our high school son goes there very often. A very decent restaurant.

My family & I have been ordering from here for going on three years now and Yan Asian has been our go to! I’m always recommending to order from them whenever we have guest.The Owner & his family are always on point and so kind.The service is fast which makes it great for take-out and cooked very well.The lunch special doesn’t ever disappoint.The pan fried chicken & spinach dumplings are a must! As well as the Mandarin Duck,I always get this when I’m feeling extra special.Coming from living in Brooklyn,NYC.This place serves great food and will always be our top Rutherford favorite!

Food is really good but the guy who takes the order is super rude. I went to pick up my food and asked for an extra hot sauce packet. The chef told me to wait and I did for about 5 minutes and then the front guy came and gave me a small bottle of hot sauce and told me very aggressively that next time say I should tell him in the beginning so I don't have to wait. I was confused so I asked what he meant and he yelled from across the room that I wasted his time because I didn't ask for hot sauce when I placed my order. I told him he was extremely rude never going back.

Best Chinese/Japanese food in the area

My go to spot for dumplings and wontons. Good price for good food. I enjoy their pan fried wontons in spicy garlic sauce on particular.

Gen Tso chicken lacked sauce and flavor. Fried rice and cheese wontons were subpar. Fried dumplings were tasty but more steamed than fried upon arrival. Order was pretty late 30 min beyond the max estimate provided. Better choices for chinese food and that with the mindset of not high expectations with chinese delivery.

This place always has quality food, both sushi and their entrees are delicious. They can make mistakes during takeout as every place can, but you will never have an issue dining in! The sushi is top notch and always tastes fresh. Give this place a facelift and it would be packed everyday. Don't judge a book by its cover, this place is a gem.

They make themselves available for delivery via uber eats but then an hour and a half later, and no lunch, I called and asked them what’s going on? The last said your too far! And then she lied to me and said she cancelled the order already, that I should have been notified by Uber Eats. Wouldn’t you know, after I hung up, I got a message a minute later that they cancelled my order. I called her up again and gave her the opportunity to tell the truth and say, sorry we forgot to cancel your order, but she kept up with her lie. If they were sorry I wouldn’t have wrote a negative review. Obviously I can’t rate their food but if you are deciding to order on Uber Eats then you can use this as a review not to.

Their lunch special is excellent. Love getting their rolls for the lunch special, and they do not skimp out on the fish to rice portion. I got the bok choy once and it was extremely oily, but their walnut shrimp is great!

Just ordered a vegetable fried rice (I am vegetarian) and that's what it said on the receipt - VEGETABLE. As I am eating it, I see a few big chunks of what appears to be beef. At this point I am disgusted but understand that people make mistakes. So we call the restaurant and explain what happened. They start questioning us as to exactly what kind of meat it is and what color. Then they have the audacity to tell us it's not possible since the order says vegetable all while I am staring at the pieces of whatever meat that is picked out of the box. No apology, the guy just sounded annoyed and said that they can come and pick that order up and make us another one. No thank you, I've had enough. Not looking to get free food, not even looking for a refund, but an apology would be nice. The moment I said that I do not want another order they just said ok and hung up. Very disappointing especially since we have ordered from that place many times before and never had an issue. Definitely will never order from there again.

My 2nd fav asian restaurant, there boneless spare ribs are my favorite, I wish it was an actual entree

I used to really enjoy ordering and eating from this place but in my recent orders the food delivered has been incorrect, notes per each order not followed on. The female who answers the phone called me demanding to put a tip on the card, I could not believe how rude she was being. Thanks to her disrespectful conduct I will NEVER order from this place again. I suggest putting on the site new processes to contactless deliveries and how food will be handled instead of shaking customers down on the phone.

It’s an awesome place to eat when you are not from the area. Great accommodation, the server respected us and gave us free dessert regardless of our number (6 adults and 8 kids) I would highly recommend this place specially if you guys are in groups.!

I only gave this place one star because there’s no option to give it zero star. Delivery driver is always asking for tips. You’re not supposed to ask for tips. You’ll get tip if you deserve tips and if the customer has money to give. You can smell the chicken while you eating it. Their shyt is not clean

It’s unbelievable how people don’t listen but yeah yeah yeah you. If you do not people’s business then don’t be in business or just let it be know. I have ordered here a few time, I continue to give them the benefit of dought because they’re fairly new. Don’t rush the food if your not going to cook it correctly, like cmon people can get sick very sick. Food born Illnesses and salmonella poisoning. This is not a joking matter. Next time I order and they send me raw food. I promise I will call the health department, you can only give people but a few chances. And I’m done giving them one. They obviously DO NOT CARE.

One thing I’m not is cheap, but the price your charging for CHINESE FOOD is very expensive. Do not make people pay the price and then send for that quality doesn’t match the price. That makes you CROOK

Food was cold in spots. Hair stuck to soy sauce bottle. Egg cold in ramen and ramen noodles stuck together and still cold. Appetizers were great and hot because made to order.

I’m a picky eater! You can only imagine when it comes to food I will not eat something if it has stuff I don’t like in it or if it smells or looks funny etc.. anyway this place came through! I mean i have Japanese friends and they’re always bragging about food I’m constantly looking at their food pics and I’m like wow it does look good tho lol i decided to give some stuff a try and i ate every freakin bit! I also tried tonkotsu ramen for first time cuz my Japanese friend says it’s her favorite and man o man it’s my new fav! Thank you for not dissapointing ! You guys have a customer for life now lol xo

We order delivery from Yan all the time. They are always prompt and have never gotten anything wrong. We have tried many dishes and have only had delicious experiences. The dumplings push this place over the top for us.

Food is fantastic! I usually order from the lunch special to save some money! I've had many things from here and they were all great. Best orange chicken around. Also love the chicken pad thai, chicken and broccoli, chicken with thai basil sauce and the teriyaki sauce is good too. I've tried some of the sushi rolls off the lunch special as well, and they were also good. The thai iced tea was refreshing. Had some desserts... hasn't been one thing that I didnt like thus far. I recommend it! Delivery is also on time and the drivers are friendly! Can't go wrong with this place :)

The delivery driver never called me when he arrived, and he gave my food to someone else. The restaurant never gave me a refund or a replacement.

Love the food. Not greasy like other places. Delivery is fast. The last 2 times we ordered delivery, things were left out, but they came back quickly and didn't give us a hard time about it. They are also nice and attentive when you dine in.

I ordered delivery online over $85 worth of food and got 3 packets of soy sauce and no white rice with any entrés and they sent me an avocado salad instead of a seaweed salad. The delivery guy didn’t even say thank you when I tipped him $5 he looked at me like I was cheap I guess. The food is OK here but pricey for the quality and given that we had to eat 6 rolls of sushi with barely any soy sauce and Chinese food without rice I wouldn’t ever dream of irsering from there again. Try New Tase of China in East Rutherford for Chinese or any other Sushi place in the area but don’t order fro Yan Asian unless you want to be disappointed.

The place was quiet for a Saturday night. Ended up here after seeking out another restaurant on the same street that didn't have what we wanted and thought to be on the menu. Plus it was busy crammed and congested. So we stopped in here instead. Service was great. Menu had plenty of of choices and everything was reasonably priced. Had noodle bowls that was generously portion and satisfying on cool September night. Would definitely go back if in the a area again!

They have cheese fried wonton!! 😋 I tried that and the Lo Mein. Both where delicious 🤤

Just give me my food and go the way I gave you my money. Had the delivery male ask me if I already paid. Obviously, you have the confirmed receipt right there with you. Also asked me if my doorbell worked. If it didn’t, knock or call. It’s not a difficult concept. Not sure if you treat all your paying customers this way or just the black ones. I even tipped 20 percent on top of the delivery fee. Don’t let your anti black racism slip when delivering food. Just deliver it and go. This guy was 30 minutes earlier than the estimated delivery time, and yet was angry he had to wait one minute while I walked down the stairs. Ridiculous. I won’t tolerate it.

It's a no for me. Compared to their local competition (Samurai Sushi on Park Ave and Asian Grille on 17) they're sushi is not good. Fish looks a little suspect, rolls are too big, ginger isn't fresh, and the taste isn't great. Fast delivery but won't be ordering again.

fast service, good food for a quick meal, average not generous portions. AC always v low even on sweltering days so you want to leave quickly, inexperienced staff never checks to see if you need anything or suggest dessert, offer tea, etc.

My go to restaurant for lunch...I work in the area so always order delivery....They are very fast and efficient....Always on time..Very pleasant to talk to...

Food was delivered in less than 30 min which was wonderful! Chicken Spinach steamed dumplings, Philadelphia & Alaska Sushi Rolls were all delicious! The Miso soup and Vegetables Spring rolls were nice warm. Only negative was there Noodle Duck Soup which was packed noodles & vegetable in one pack and duck broth in another. I had to mix containers in a separate bowl to serve. Also we were missing napkins & plastic utensils.

Best coocked chicken around. I regret not finding them yrs ago.

The food used to be excellent here, but the last two times we have ordered we have gotten very sick from the food. I'm not sure if they are using MSG in their food, or there are unsanitary practices going on, but we most likely will not be ordered from here again.

Order on the phone if you want to get yelled at. We just placed a big order on credit cards and some cash. The man who answered is incredibly rude and unprofessional. He yelled at me for adding miso soup to the order and said next time he couldn't do it. Believe me there is no next time and furthermore he lost more than one client since we are an office that orders out a lot. Don't bother calling this place because they need to learn proper customer service.
