Kinkao brings the vibrant flavors of Thailand to Columbia, Missouri. This restaurant invites diners to experience authentic Thai cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere.
I went and tried the newest Thai place in town tonight.
The food was delicious! We all ordered different things and everyone really enjoyed their selections. I'm but very educated on different curries so I ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice which had a little curry and it was really good. The curry definitely added to the flavor.
I'm definitely going to come back and taste more of the menu.
Kin Kao in Columbia, Missouri , has some of the best Thai food I have had in the USA. The Khao Soi is authentic Chiang Mai—better than I have had in Bangkok. You can order your Som tom, Issan style, and you should! It will come with spice and fish sauce that will make you feel like you are in Khon Kaen. The owners are real Thai people, and they love to talk about Thailand. It is worth the trip to Columbia just for Thai food. Enjoy!
considering that mama chim’s was some of the best thai food in columbia, kinkao had big shoes to fill. but, it exceeded our expectations!
we ordered the chicken curry puffs to share, a chicken red curry with rice and the pad see ew. and a thai milk tea to wash everything down!
the service was great and our food and drinks were delicious. the samosas were flaky and crispy, and the thai milk tea was creamy and fragrant. both entrees were well cooked, and the curry portion was especially generous as the leftovers made a whole other meal.
one thing - i found the upcharge for beef/shrimp as a protein to be too expensive. it’s usually $1 more expensive than chicken, but it was $4 here. so, i got the chicken instead although i would have preferred beef.
We visited Kinkao for lunch today and were thoroughly impressed! We ordered the yellow curry and basil stir fry and loved the rich flavors. The spice levels were perfect and exactly as we ordered and the portions were large. We also enjoyed the vegetable curry puffs and Thai green iced tea. The owner/chef came out to greet us and offered us mango sticky rice, which was tasty and refreshing. They're currently in their soft opening, but the service was great. We will definitely be coming back.
Our party of five visited Kin Kao for lunch today. All the dishes were delicious, especially our two favourite dishes were Wing Saab their dried rub chicken wings with tasty thai spices, and Hung Ley Curry, a northern thai curry dish. Both were unique and not dishes we’ve tastes before at other thai restaurants. Their service was also friendly and welcoming. We’ll definitely be coming back…what a great addition to the Columbia food scene!
Ordered to go. They had it ready quickly. I was surprised to see it was pretty busy when I picked up.
All our dishes were very good. Good service at the counter too.
Prices seem fair.

The food was delicious 😋😋😋 It reminds me of the Thai food I ate when I was in Bangkok Thailand. The service was top notch. The lady that serves us, her name is Punika. She is a pro. She did a great job attending to my family. I’ll recommend this restaurant to my friends.
4.5/5
Visited with friends on 4/23/24. I had Thai tea, the curried sweet potato puffs as an app, chicken Tom Kha soup as my main (medium heat), with mango cheesecake for dessert.
The tea was nice and strong, puffs crispy, hot and wonderfully flaky with a smooth, perfectly seasoned filling. The soup was silky, flavorful and the spice level was just enough to warm me up without setting me on fire. The mango cheesecake featured a chewy coconut crust, bright mango filling and and sweet orange topping.
Everything was very fresh and lovely, and the cost:value was highly reasonable. The service was attentive and the staff were pleasant.
We had an excellent time and I'm dreaming of my next visit.
Best Thai food in town. Hands down the best. Nothing compares.
from the appetizers to the main dishes, they nailed texture, proportions, most remarkably: depth of flavor, all with excellent service. nothing was a miss. i will definitely come back. our pad thai and khao soi were the best we've had in columbia.
We had a wonderful experience at Kinkoa with wonderful service from Maddy. Everyone was so kind and the restaurant was very clean. We had crab rangoons, Kao Soi, and yellow curry and they were all delicious. Will definitely be coming back¨̮
This is my favorite Thai food in the area. The food is delicious. We've enjoyed everything we've tried including the Pad Thai, curries, stir fried eggplant and appetizers.
Food was very good, very nice service!
Delicious northern Thai food!! So happy I can get Khao Soi in the states!!

The Pumpkin Curry will rock your world!!
Loved this place! Food was excellent - fresh and flavorful. Ambience was contemporary/relaxed. We had a fabulous server. She was friendly, helpful, and attentive. We went for lunch, but would also be an excellent dinner spot. Great menu! So much I wanted to try.
We had dinner at Kinkao, and everything was fantastic! The menu has a lot of gluten-free options, which was a huge plus for us. The flavors were spot on, and the atmosphere was lovely. We’ll definitely be back!
Pad thai
Pumpkin curry
And Panang curry
The staff were very friendly and service was very fast even at lunchtime rush, but the food was a bit disappointing as it was extremely sweet. I'm not sure why it tasted surgery (pad thai and drunken noodles) but I couldn't even eat the pad thai because it was so sweet. Those are the only two dishes we tried so other things might be better but since this was too sweet for my diabetic husband (his blood sugar went crazy after eating less than half of his food), I don't think we will risk going back. Although the fresh rolls were VERY good and so far, this is the only place in Columbia we can find them.
We had a lovely lunch at Kinkao when we visited Columbia! I enjoyed the Pad Thai - it was one of the best I’ve had.

Best chicken satay I’ve ever had!! The panaang curry was also amazing. And the service was friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. Definitely coming back!
The pad Thai was amazing! The spicy noodles were sooooo good! Will definitely be back!
Absolutely fantastic. So good!
Fresh Roll, Tom Ka, Larb: excellent.
And bonus, chef says he can make ANYTHING gluten free.
This has quickly become my favorite resteruant to get a good Curry.
Great food and service as always.
Fantastic!...the hot is actually hot not just somewhat hot 🔥
Absolutely amazing. Must try and always retuning customer.
We had the Crab Rangoons, Chicken Satay and Drunken Noodles. The dishes were all subpar and tasted worse than Chim's. The table was sticky when we arrived and there was also a free drink in exchange for a google review promotions, which might have something to do with all the good reviews. Perhaps we came on an off day, but I wouldn't come here again.
Green curry’s bold kiss,
Noodles twirl in fiery waltz
Mouth calls for a drink.
“This is a wonderful and fantastic place to eat with great vegetarian options. An amazing addition to Columbia. The service has always been great and the food even better. The Thai iced tea and curry puffs are delectable, as is the fried rice and Pad See Eew. I would 100% recommend this to everyone I know.”
Okay, this place is a gem. Some of the best Thai I’ve had in the Midwest!
NasThai - just gross. don’t do it. hurt for days after eating here.
Really yummy, the Thai spicy is legit
This place never disappoint me. The food is great with lots of flavors. My favorite is red curry. Highly recommended
Very good, authentic Thai food (from a native Thai). I'm surprised of the selection they offer that's not as well known in the states (e.g. Gang HungLay, Gari puff, and a few more). Nonetheless, the flavors were very adequate. Everything was reasonably priced with appropriate portions. Will be visiting Columbia more frequently due to my daughter attending Mizzou. I plan on visiting Kinkao on every trip as well!
Best Thai Food in Town
As a Thai native, I can confidently say this spot serves such a good Thai food around. Their Kaosoi and Stir fry Basil is a standout with a perfectly spiced, just like you’d find in Thailand. If you’re craving real Thai flavors, this is the place to go! Noted Their Spice is on point so you better careful on Thai Hot
Pad Thai was good. Better than most places here in Columbia.
Crab Rangoon not very good. Too much breading it if was thinner and the cream cheese mixture was more flavorful , that would be better.
Thai tea was good. Yummy!
Veggie rolls were good but wish you’d get more than 3.
Overall not too bad being in Columbia it was much better than chims.
Food is delicious. The place is kinda small ish/cozy. May get busy fast. Service was great.
Authentic Thai food at a reasonable price. I have tried the Pad Thai, the Pad See Ew, and the Yellow Curry. All of the dishes were tasty!
The most legit Thai restaurant in Columbia. Desperately hoping this place sticks around, because we’ve been dying for good Thai food since moving to COMO, and everything else is just lacking.
Service was fast and friendly, also the food is very tasty. We love the Mango Sticky Rice, and the savory dishes too! Favorite Thai place in town!!
Kinkao has delicious food & the wait staff is SO nice. The owners personally come out and talk to every customer, they’re lovely! Great place, wonderful food. Best Thai food in Columbia!
Just had an amazing time at Kinkao restaurant last week and it was like a trip back to Thailand! The food is so delicious, it's like being back in Bangkok. You HAVE to try the Thai tea - it's the best in Columbia. The atmosphere was fantastic, the staff were so lovely and the owner, Punika, was incredibly friendly. She even shared some hidden gem spots in Thailand with me and invited me to join her on her next visit! I can't wait for the grand opening - I'm definitely bringing all my friends and family with me!
great service, great food. looks much nicer after reopening. came with a large group and everyone liked their order. best pad thai in columbia. 10/10. might consider putting more noodles in drunken noodles, but it was still tasty.
Thai hot is very delicious. Everyone raves about the pineapple fried rice.
I ordered pad thai with chicken and it was very good. This was my first time having Kinkao. Definitely recommend....staff are amazing!
As good as anything Vegas or LA has to offer, and as a recent transplant from the west coast I was very glad to find Kinkao. I had the Beef basil dish and it was excellent. Now if we could just get a good Ramen place to open up in CoMo, life would be perfect.
I had the pineapple fried rice and it was AMAZING!! The medium spice was just enough heat. Love trying new places in COMO. would recommend
I appreciate that when I asked for spicy, they actually gave me spicy. Fried rice was great and I appreciate that they could make my order vegan. My new favorite Thai restaurant.
Just tried takeout from this place for the first time and I’m impressed! We had the spring rolls, thom yum, yellow curry, and pad see ew. Everything was great! We’ll be back to dine in sometime.
Just visited “Kinkao” a new Thai restaurant on their soft opening and was thoroughly impressed! The place is beautifully renovated and cozy. We were warmly greeted by the owners. Tried the fried tofu, hoy jaw (fried seafood with pork dumplings), pork pad see ew, pork panang curry, and chicken kao soi—all were incredibly flavorful and delicious. To top it off, they gave us a complimentary mango sticky rice for dessert, which was a delightful treat. This place is a new gem. Can’t wait to come back and try more dishes!

Tasty foods
I had a great time at Kin Kao on their opening night. My favorites were the creamy and smooth kao soi and the sweet potato puffs. This will definitely be my go to Thai spot when I'm in town :)
Delicious foods with Amazing Service. Larb was very tasteful. khao Soi was very flavorful with that thickness soupy sauce.I rate places from time to time but rarely leave a comment. I can say that this place makes the most authentic Thai foods. If y'all wanna try the tastes of Authentic Thai food, here is probably the place for y’all.
