The sushi here is hands down the best sushi I’ve had! It was so fresh and flavorful. The fish was amazing quality and so soft. The staff there are also so kind.

The BEST Sushi in Riverview. The location is small however the food make up for everything. I’ve lived in the area since 2010 and I’m telling you, this is a MUST TRY restaurant. I ordered the Summerfield roll with Avocado, my son ordered the Sushi sandwich both was delicious and very impressive. The Thai Pad noodles I really wasn’t a fan but I would highly recommend this location . Will visit again soon

The Sushi here is amazing. I can’t find better anywhere. Only wish they were open 1 day a week for lunch! The Picasso, the Don Juan, the Samurai, and the Yellow Lamborghini are our favorites.

Update: After years of coming here i just can't keep dealing with the poor service. We've been here nearly every Friday for several years, unless out of town, and have tolerated reduced service levels due to this place still being the best sushi spot in the area. Not to mention we've estalished great relationships with some of the staff that kept bringing us back. But recently service has been pretty terrible and tonight was the end for me. I wish them the best but can't continue to go to a place that doesn't value our patronage.

Some of the best sushi in the area. Certainly 5 stars for the food. Dining in can be tough as it's a small space, and we've had times where service suffered because of how busy they are with to-go orders but the great food brings us back. They almost need an additional kitchen just for to-go and I think both parts of the business would benefit. But 100% a staple for us and we'll keep coming back.

We like their sushi but when we ordered we requested several times for extra ginger. Not only did we not get the ginger, but they wrote *GINGER INCLUDED* on the box as if we’re too stupid to know that already. Hence why we requested *extra*. Spent almost $100, just wanted *extra* ginger. Apparently that’s a problem

I love sushi so I know what’s good and what’s not good. If I were to compare this place with other sushi spots.. this spot is NOT ittttt… This is a downgrade to the sushi game. Left an odd taste in my mouth…even if I didn’t know about other sushi places this first experience was ehhh. Stomach kinda feels weird. if you know you know. Over priced for what it is. Simple. It pains me to mention this place because I'm selfish. I have driven all over the bay area looking for sushi only to find the top choice within walking distance. The quality of sushi this quaint little restaurant sells is second to none. It is nothing exotic, but what you do get is remarkable.

Their sashimi is perfection….I went off the grid and ordered the pad Thai with shrimp.

Worst I’ve ever had….the noodles were dry without flavor. I wasn’t able to finish the shrimp and noodles….they had no flavor….don’t offer the basic Thai of basic/authentic Thai of Thai dishes if you can’t deliver…..

I ordered the chicken and shrimp fried rice with veggies and I received mostly rice. There was barely any meat or veggies! Will not be ordering from here again. Save your time and money!

We discovered Sticky Rice shortly after moving here almost 3 years ago. It is my favorite sushi spot in the area. Everything I’ve had has been amazing from the sushi rolls, soups, and appetizers. This is authentic delicious food and I encourage you to try different things on their menu or the chef specials. Wash it down with a Japanese sake, beer, or tea. We’ve never even dined in but have always had great service over the phone and when picking up our food. I love this place.

The worst experience, walk in wasn’t even acknowledged by the staff.I sit down waited seven minutes I had ask employee cleaning table for menu. Just seems to me not all customers are welcome at this place. I use to patronize this place back when they open no problems food was good. I selected two rolls they bought looks to e same in appearance and taste. I’ve had better sushi at Publix. They had two families eating, shouldn’t been difficult to at least acknowledge a customer who came in there. I’m never going back to this place again, and names they gave the sushi prove they don’t know jack about the culture. The one staff at least acknowledged my presence and took my order finally.

Small place with great Sushi

I wanted to share my recent experience at Sticky Rice, and unfortunately, it was not a positive one.

I placed an order in the restaurant for sushi at 7:30 PM, and I was informed that it would take an hour and 45 minutes, which I patiently waited since I lived down the street. Upon returning to collect my food, I was surprised to find an additional charge of $3.00 labeled as a gratuity fee.

I must express my disappointment at this unexpected charge, especially considering the inconvenience of the extended wait time. It seems counterintuitive to charge a gratuity when the service has been less than satisfactory.

I value transparency and fairness in customer service, and this incident is unethical or deceptive business practice and has left me feeling disheartened. "It's just the principle of it," Me and friends won’t be back since you don’t value your customers.

Tucked away and just fantastic. Their fresh Wasabi is so good you'll want to drink it. Sashimi that melts in your mouth...

Great place to eat!

We have ordered take out here many times. The Sushi is the best in the area. Tonight we ate in for our first time. It took over an hour to get our food. Were they busy? Yes. But a simple update over that hour would have been nice. We asked at the 58 minute mark and was finally told it was coming out soon. Had to ask the first time to get my water refilled. That was 20 minutes in. The rest of the 40 minutes waiting and my meal no one came around to offer a refill. I looked at tables next to me and drinks were empty. At the end we didn’t want to wait any longer so I walked to the counter and got a take out for our left overs. If you are short staffed remove the seating to make it more manageable. Please do better.

Absolutely amazing atmosphere, service and food. Came from out of town and friends took us here to try the delicious food. I will never look at an ordinary sushi roll again. See you tomorrow

What a hidden gem in Riverview!

The menu includes lots of unique options. I LOVE the Pokie Bowl. My husband and I have eaten here twice and everything we've tried is delicious!

Note: it is not a large restaurant, so it fills up quickly during peak hours.

Fair prices, good service, excellent sushi! I honestly can't say enough about this place. The fish is absolutely the freshest and masterfully prepared. The other dishes from the kitchen are amazing too. The atmosphere is lovely whether you're alone with your kid at the sushi bar (which hasn't happened for me since 2019) or it's a packed house (my typical experience since they reopened). The staff is always friendly no matter how incredibly busy they are. I really should take photos of the gorgeous sushi/meals, but I get too excited by the time it's delivered to me to not eat it right away. This is my favorite sushi spot in the Tampa Bay area, hands down!

Update again: Google wants me to say how things have changed since my last update and they haven't. This place is consistent and so so so good! We popped in for a happy hour snack and absolutely went overboard. The food is too good! Don't go here if you lack self-control. Or do. It's worth it!
One thing I want to note is that our server asked before bringing us waters if the kids should have styrofoam cups with lids or glasses. This might seem like such a little thing, but it was so thoughtful and a big deal to one of our kids in particular. I really appreciate that he gave us the option and honestly, it's a good move environmentally to not default to styrofoam for kids. There are so many reasons why this is my favorite place.

8/2023 - Not sure what's happened but the last few Osaka rolls have not been as good as they used to be. Have been coming here since it was Samurai Sushi.

I recommend this restaurant. Atmosphere was relaxing and the food was amazing!

This used to be our favorite Sushi spot. They always had fresh sushi with a smile and now the sushi taste very low quality and fishy. Highly disappointed and sadly will not be wasting another dollar here.

I really love this sushi house! Great selection of Japanese beers. Rice is very good and portions are large. Try the fried oysters!

OMFG yellow Lambo not even closer to what it was couple years back. It used to have nice whole pieces of scallops now as if they only took 1 whole and cut into 6 filets out not to mention dry af to where's the sauces. I'm pretty disappointed in lack of quality I'll spend my 100 bucks elsewhere.

Times changed and chefs too.
I miss what it used to taste like. Now the food just feels rushed.
No care, missing ingredients, not the flavor I used to love so passionately.
I just hope new chefs with time can get close to how the owners used to be.
Servers are as friendly as always and the ambience is amazing, but the key of the place is gone for me.

My favorite sushi place in the area. The wait is a little long on the weekend ma but it’s worth the wait. The fish is very fresh! I love their crab Rangoon. Honestly everything I had had been great. My go to is the Alaskan role but once in a while, I try something new.

Best sushi in ALL of Tampa. Quality ingredients and preparation make ALL the difference when it comes to sushi. They have generous portions and creative combinations for an absolutely divine dining experience. Would give them 10 stars if I could. And everyone who works there is always very friendly!

Everything we ordered (we had two toddlers with us too) was delicious! This place is a great little gem!

This is our first Japanese restaurant in Florida recently, and not surprised to see Sesame Chicken (Chinese), Thai tea, Thai Pad noodles, etc. on the menu. The Asian ethnic cuisine has a long way to go.

A friend has invited us there for a few times but we were unable to go. Today we finally made it.

~ Sea weed salad – sweet
~ Cucumber salad – sweet
~ Yellow Lamborghini – very good, bit sweet
~ Taco chip (?)
~ Hamachi Kama – good, it takes about 20 min
~ Sashimi premium with real wasabi – very good, def will come back for this one.

If popularity is any indication, the place was packed and there was a line of people happily waiting outside. We will be repeat customers and would highly recommend!

This is the best sushi in all of the Tampa area. My friends, roommates, and I visit this restaurant about every two weeks. It's a small place with a charming staff. You can expect to wait about 45 mins to seat and spend about 20-60$ to eat. I personally like to get hot sake, miso soup, avocado salade, pork gyoza, and then either a sushi deluxe or roll. Sets me back about 35ish bucks. Other notable mentions are are things like the sushi, I recommend subbing in otoro and real wasabi. There are 4 different lists of sushi rolls you can get. They serve takoyaki which I've only seen at one other place in Tampa. We jokingly worry that this place will get too popular and busy so we tell people it's haunted. It's customary when leaving to tell the staff, "see you tomorrow"

This place is small inside and the line to get in is long with a very long wait. They can't seat more than 40 total. It looked like 3 were making sushi orders, 2 or 3 were serving and a few others were cooking and helping move food. There is no atmosphere, just great food! Service suffered when I was there because every seat was taken, people were enjoying the food, socializing, and not leaving quickly. That's a good thing for customers. There seemed to be a heavy take-out service, also.

This WAS our favorite sushi place. However this evening I was very disappointed and frustrated with our dinning experience. They changed half-price happy hour. The prices are now just a dollar less than normal. We waited over 45 minutes for our food. We enjoyed our sushi but waited another 30 minutes to get our check. The servers were friendly but not apologetic about the bad service. This will be our last visit. We will no be back

Happy hour is now only $1 off an item on average. We spent an hour and a half here - 45 minutes waiting for food and 30 minutes waiting for the check because their POS was down (which we were told about, but not that it was going to take 30 minutes to ring us out.) There was obvious favoritism for some regulars. We were pleasant despite no apology or discount offered for the extreme wait. Will not be back.

Parking and access were easy. Seating is limited, so be prepared for a wait. The family is a little old and dated, but don't be fooled by appearances. The quality was terrific!.

We sat at the bar and spoke with the sushi chefs. They were pleasant, tenured, and skilled. Wonderful Smokie hints into the flVor from the handheld torch.

This is our most favorite sushi restaurant, ever! Don't let the small place or its location in the shopping plaza drive you away. You may have to wait to be seated, especially on weekends, but the wait time and the amount of people showing up just to pick up orders are a testament to the quality of the food. The staff is always friendly and the chefs are always on point. Highly recommend "Fire on You" role and the Sashimi Sampler. "See you Tomorrow!!"

I have been to many other Sushi places all over the state of FL. To date they have all disappointed me. Because I am constantly hold them to the expectation Sticky Rice has set forth for me to love and expect. They have a sushi roll for anyone if you haven't tried them yet and are thinking about it, don't! It will be hard for you to get sushi from anywhere and not say to yourself "man I should have went to Sticky Rice instead." They get busy for dinner and are closed Sunday & Mondays things to keep in mind.

Until I visited here, I had never eaten a Yellow Lamborghini. Now that I have, I'm looking forward to my next one. #SeeYouTomorrow

This place is AMAZING. The plum wine was fantastic too. Its a auper hole in the wall and it is definitely too warm inside when youre eating but the sushi is Ridiclously good, so its sort of worth the sauna inside. Lol.

Everything is great here. The owners are a down to earth couple from Chicago who have brought their dream of a fabulous sushi restaurant to little Riverview, Florida. While not a large location, their menu is vast and the service tremendous. The sushi is consistently fresh and if you want spicy just ask. The walls have some fantastic art and the menu covers are a hit. We will keep on coming back to this place. They also offer a discount for military and nurses.

Ordered online, drove 17 minutes to restaurant, checked in with employees so that I could pay because I selected “pay at store” option when placing order. I patiently sat for over 40 minutes, only to then be requested by an employee to sit somewhere else because 3 young women who were seated at the bar area, no longer wanted to sit their after they were seated for about 6 or 7 minutes. Just ridiculous

Fantastic sushi. We really loved the rolls we ordered. The only thing I didn't like was the thick eel sauce over powered some of the rolls. I would just ask for light eel sauce next time.

Hands down my favorite sushi in the Tampa area. Their plate dishes are really good too. Staff is super friendly.

Excellent service and delicious food!!! Very efficient, courteous and friendly staff. We had seaweed and avocado salad, miso soup, pork gyozas, Hawaii 5-0 with cream cheese sushi roll and spring rolls.

This is my fave sushi place! They know how to make everything perfect and the ambience is so chill. Gets packed really fast around 6pm everyday for a food reason! So tasty I didn’t even had the chance to take photos lol. 💯 Would recommend.
Got here for my birthday and ordered +70 pieces with my bff. WORTH IT 💯♥️
