Small, bustling stop for updates on traditional Thai street foods, plus ice cream sandwiches.
Amazing amazing flavours with great spice levels to choose from ! Staff were all so friendly and accommodating… Have to get the coconut rice to try with main dishes — compliments with everything so well ! Very impressed with the Pad See Ew, one of the best I’ve had across LA, NYC and London. That says a lot! One thing is that the pork salad and the crispy rice salad is slightly a bit too salty.
I am being as honest as I can in my review here. Service was great atmosphere was great, concept amazing, the food.....I've had better Thai in Europe, which is a low bar, I don't get the hype. Had the pad Thai which was approaching garbage and the crunch wrap which did not disappoint but didn't exactly appoint either. If you're in the area enjoy but for me head to Jitlada you'll better spend your cash
Four stars for atmosphere only because it was very loud inside and hard to hear others talking. My party of four opted to sit outside in the cold so we could actually hear each other. No heaters either.
Food was fantastic. Thai spicy, not white people spicy. The spicy dishes do have variable spice levels to choose. Dishes are all family-style.
Meter street parking only.
Food was okay, not incredible. All the meat was cooked perfectly but the flavors were kind of boring. Also, the dish that was supposed to be very spicy was mild and the one that was not supposed to be spicy at all was spicy.
The restaurant has great decor but the music is way too loud. Thus 4 stars for Atmosphere. They have an outdoor seating area so it was okay.
Their canned house wine had a really alcoholic bite to it, I didn’t like it.
Mango Sticky Rice is delicious!
There’s paid meter street parking on Sunset. The meters stop at 8 PM.
THE DISAPPOINTMENT
they charge $10 per person if you bring your own cake to celebrate a birthday dinner. I’ve never heard this in my entire life especially the per person charge. So disappointing that we couldn’t celebrate a special birthday here.
THE SERVICE
I feel it could’ve been better with a little bit more empathy and meaningful customer service. A particular server just didn’t care by the word choices used.
THE FOOD
Great food the pork belly was amazing, brussels sprouts, shrimp pad thai, Nam khao Tod, panang, and pad see ew gai.
THE AMBIENCE
lights were very low dimmed during the night pack spot, clean bathrooms, and a very hipster vibe
Overall, the food was awesome but the service and that excessive birthday charge, took it over the top and ruined the mood for our entire party.
My friend and I found this place in silver lake area. We both love the Thai food so it’s easy to make the decision. This place looks quite cool. You feel like here should be a Mexican restaurant and you may come to a wrong place when you come in. Very funny and confusing. Haha… but still very cool. The menu looks very cool. A lot of Asian and western mix. We love the pastrami Pad Kee Mao. You must try the spicy or very spicy level if you can handle that. It’s just soooooo good! Taking you to the heaven. The service was good. The guy was very nice! Seems no outdoor seating if you look for that option.
This place gets a lot of hype as it is a Thai fusion place with a buzzy hip kinda vibe. For what it is (i.e., Thai food for white ppl) it is honestly quite good. Food quality is great, flavors are quite bold (their default spicy will kick you in the face), price is decent, and the portions are generous. They also serve a wide selection of wines and of course Singha beer. It's a great option for hanging with your friends with solid food in a chic and fun atmosphere that's a step up from your typical Thai joint in Thai Town.
Everything was unbelievably delicious — and if it says it’s a spicy dish… IT’S SPICY! You have been forewarned!! Even the waitstaff recommended we take the spicy level down a bit, just in case.
It is a little loud inside the dining room, head’s up. But the rave-atmosphere in the bathroom made it up for me.
I am being as honest as I can in my review here. Service was great atmosphere was great, concept amazing, the food.....I've had better Thai in Europe, which is a low bar, I don't get the hype. Get the beef panang. It's amazing.
Incredibly loud and overstimulating. Service was poor. We had booked a table for 8:15, when we arrived no table was ready. We were stood around for 30 minutes before being sat. Ordered a takeaway for it to take 2 hours only for the order to be missing half the food. Shame considering the food is good…
Worst customer service
Delicious authentic Thai.
Very enjoyable little spot with really good food and equally as good service. The dishes are served family style, so I'd recommend getting a few different dishes to try. Also, the mango sticky rice is a must try to end the meal.
Amazing food and vibe. Everything on the menu is good. You have to check out the bathroom; disco meets daft punk haha
The food is so good, the wine is delicious, the servers are attentive and helpful, and the restaurant is beautiful. One of the most fun dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. Did I mention the food is good? Because it’s so freaking good.
The most underwhelming food plated by apathetic people. Would rather eat 2 day old sushi than deal with disgruntled servers, over-prepared food, and cold diner vibes. There are 614 Thai restaurants in Los Angeles, I'd rather go elsewhere or eat styrofoam.
We were treated like second class citizens for trying to dine with a child at 6pm tonight. We waited twice as long for service as the table that arrived after us who were greeted with smiles and kindness. Alternatively, we received eye rolls and disdain, and no one spoke to us until we asked desperately 15 minutes after arriving.
Our kiddo finally started crying after we waited so long for food, and we promptly and respectfully asked for the check.
The server condescendingly told us that was a "good idea".
Get over yourselves. We are all just humans trying to enjoy life. This place is pompous and unwelcoming. So sad they ruined our night.
The chicken thighs and pork belly appetizers are a perennial favorite
Best pad see ew in town. Oh my god
Absolute Empfehlung!
I really love this place. Really good food. The green beans is a must. The chicken Larb is a must. The short rib Curry was amazing. Excellent food and also you must try the papaya salad. I'm not a big fan of papaya but this really was amazing. Great service. Great ambiance all around real good experience. Highly recommend
Night Market in Silver Lake is a true culinary gem. The vibrant atmosphere and top-notch service make you feel instantly welcome. Their menu offers authentic Thai dishes bursting with bold flavors. Standouts include the crispy rice salad and the perfectly smoky pad see ew. The staff’s passion for the food is evident, guiding you through an unforgettable dining experience. If you're in Silver Lake, this is a must-visit spot for outstanding food and service. Especial mention the GM Hannah
great food. music kinda loud though.
Great Thai food with lots of flavor in a fun environment. Definitely not fancy or anything but a great place to have a fun night and delicious food. Good wine as well.
Incredibly loud music, but great food and even better service. Alex was a great addition to our celebratory dinner. Super informative and cognizant of dietary restrictions. Deserves all the praises!!
So so great. You probably already know this. Night + Market Song has become a little Silverlake institution, and for good reason. Good vibes, great food. But there's often a long wait at busy times, so plan accordingly.
Delicious food and friendly service. They are not kidding when they say the food is spicy, even for items without a 🌶️. The burrito supreme was small, which they warned us about, but excellent.
The first time there and the food in the service was excellent.
If you are looking for so-so Thai food and you want to eat it in a dark and really loud music bar environment (but there isn't a bar), you can come here. You'll probably have a great time.
The food was amazing, the service a bit sketchy, the seating and atmosphere needs improvement- but their curry would be the deciding factor.
The flavors are outrageously good. Yum
Having had different Thai food over the years in La, NY and Thailand , I think the food was okay but not out of this world . Definitely mild is spicy and not for the faint of heart , my mouth was on fire at one point and my son was tearing up 😅😂. I can’t say I would order the same foods again .
The servers were awesome however and made the dinner over the top 🫶🏻.
Side note : the bathroom transports to a disco bar scene out of a movie 🤩🕺🏻
The food is ok, but I was a bit disappointed that the garlic bread isn’t even served. It was just for TV which seems disingenuous
I love this place, great traditional thai dishes and also thai dishes with a twist. We had the crab wontons, papaya salad, chicken wings, and the Pastrami pad kee mao—the clear winner! Everything was delicious though. It can tend to be really spicy for those who are sensitive so make sure you specify your heat level. Their waiters are always so sweet and attentive and the food is always on point. My go to thai place in the neighborhood!
This is a place I crave often and dream about. Love the food, natural wine, the people that work here, and the vibe.
There’s paid meter street parking on Sunset. The meters stop at 8 PM.

What can you say? It was such a fun time, service was quick and knowledgeable. Food came out fast and was SOO GOOD, im still thinking about it. Definitely get the crispy rice dish (i forgot the name). Had the special for Lunar New Year. I wish the bathrooms were a bit cleaner but thats life. If i was closer id go back today!
Food was good but a bit too spicy for my tolerance, employees were nice but seemed understaffed or didn't check in as often as I'm used to - we had to flag them down a couple times. There was definitely an atmosphere but it was a bit too dim/loungey for a restaurant kind of setting. The tables were all a little too close together/too many for the space and my friend was hitting the bead curtain we were sat next to lol
Great Thai restaurant in LA! The colorful decor adds to the atmosphere which is kitschy and inviting. The food is delicious and served family style. The sweet potato massaman curry is creamy with a kick of heat and the crispy roti that comes with it is perfect! Definitely want to come back to try other items.
best Thai food in town ✨🩷
Coming all the way to L.A. for the most disappointing pad Thai I’ve ever had. Dry, bland, overly sweet, overpriced. I’ve had pad Thai in the middle of nowhere for like $8 that’s a million times better. Seriously? I feel f-ing robbed. How do you mess up such a simple dish? Pathetic.
*Reviewing as a vegetarian*
Dishes ordered: massaman curry, papaya salad
Beware of the spice!! I’m Indian and the “mild” killed me. So if you can’t handle spice, get everything with no spice (and even then they add a little).
The flavours are very intense but delicious. The massaman curry was salty but tasty. Papaya salad is lovely (minus the intense spice).
The service is outstanding though. The staff is very sweet, they take their time explaining the menu and they take care of you. When I was literally dying from the spice, they got me a bunch of things to help me feel better and then replaced the dish with a milder version.
My only complaint is that they don’t make pad thai without fish sauce :(
I will go back for sure.
Amazing food! Very tight squeeze as you are elbow to elbow with other diners. I love the larb gai and papaya salad. The Khao soi jay is vegan and isn’t as good as a traditional khao soi Gai.
Lovely if you don’t mind eating in dark and loud places. Personally, I reserve that environment for the club and not for when I’m trying to have a meal and enjoy conversation 😅 the fired chicken sandwich was divine. Good level of spice. Friendly and helpful servers.
Our dinner should have be illegal and needed health warnings. Sierously. It's 24 hour later and we both have the worst salt hangover we've ever experienced in our lives. We feel awful. The entire day feels as if my eyes and throat have been coated with ocean water.
Service was fun, the place was festive as usual, and sadly the food was so buried with a Mt. Everest amount of salt (and sugar) that you have to wonder. Just an awful experience that leaves us feeling angry and sick. Literally sick. Wasted an entire Sunday trying to recover from it... headaches, dry throat, etc.
What's the joy of eating that sort of cuisine?? It was never like this at Night + Market. It will be my last time.
The best Thai food I have ever had in Los Angeles, excellent vibe, flavors hit hard and the spice levels are great even for the most willing of spice fiends. Recommend this to anyone who loves Thai. Was a favorite of Anthony Bourdain and now is a favorite of mine.
Ordered take out and it took 1 hour when they told me 30 mins. Food is decent and the restaurant seems super packed with people waiting outside. Personally I’m not sure if it’s worth it if you aren’t a local. But seems super popular so I might be the anomaly.
Ordered the chicken pad see ew…so gross. Chicken had bones and lots of fat so constantly spitting out pieces. None of our tables food came out at the same time, 25 minutes from when the first person was served to the last. Music way too loud but decent decor inside.

Good food but not a very friendly staff…
They literally want to make you feel that they are the bosses and that you are privileged to be their guest…
I’m not sure I want to keep coming back to a place like this one… Too bad…
Foods great, just dont recommend getting takeout if you’re time sensitive or don’t have time to double check your order. Forgot half of our order and made us wait 30 min more than they said it would take.
I’ve had a lot of Thai food in my life and this is far and away the best and most interesting. Truly fresh, truly delicious, truly unique and inventive, and truly spicy. Great value for the area as well. Spectacular wine list. Hope to come back soon.
Absolutely Run, don’t Walk to Night + Market Song
I really knocked it down for atmosphere because my friend and I were eaten alive by mosquitoes and the music was oppressively loud (and we were the first table seated).
But the food is delicious, and awkwardly not as spicy as it once was (but my understanding is chilli is hot seasonally so I am not determined to make blame).
The decor is fun but the mosquitoes! I may not go again in hot weather.
Everything about Night Market song is good. The vibe is so fun, the service is always great, and the food is to die for. I have never experienced such flavors. The party wings, crispy rice salad, and mango sticky rice are my favorites!
This is such a trendy yet eclectic Thai restaurant. We didn't know what to expect when we parked across the street. We walked into an oasis filled with pink and red lights. Flowers and streamers everywhere. Funky music. Looks nothing like a Thai restaurant inside or outside. In a good way though. Such a fun and colorful vibe!
Unfortunately, the lighting didn't make for good food photos so I do not have any to share. We devoured the fried pork belly with sticky rice. The Crispy Rice Salad is a must try. The flavors will make your mouth dance. Be sure to ask for lettuce to accompany this dish. Eat it like lettuce wraps. We also had the pad see ew. So good!
Service was fast and great. We will definitely go back there!
Terrible rude service.
Punishingly loud music.
Food was banging tho
Service and atmosphere was good, but the food was really just OK. The Tom yum tasted more like salsa than actual Tom yum, and the other dishes were ok, but overall not super authentic and too salty.
Great food, great service, I'll be coming back soon

Legend has it that an Asian person has yet to be seen in this jar of mayonnaise…
Awesome kitchen!!
Amazing food. The crispy rice salad is 10/10. Great service and fun vibes.
I loved the atmosphere, the food was good, the service was good. They were busy so we didn’t get checked on often and I ran out of a drink but never got a refill. I do like that it’s family style but I’d like to be able to make some changes when I order food. Sometimes I don’t like everything in a dish and it seems like it’s not fresh when you can’t make changes.
Oddly uncomfortable atmosphere and the food was so so
The place has amazing food. Highly recommend the crispy rice larb salad. Such a cool vibe. It’s a must go when we are visiting LA.
WOW!!! The food was mind blowing. You will not be disappointed! Staff was great as well
Phenomenal food and service.
シルバーレイクでアジア料理が食べたくなったら気軽に入れて良いです。
Dana N, waiting 15min more from the time of pick up
After several years and much hype, Night Market Song continues to be one of the best Thai restaurants in the city and my favorite of the LA night market locations ( Las Vegas is also excellent). No reservations so first come first serve and there’s a nice standing area to enjoy a bottle of natty juice while you wait for your table. If you order wine before 7pm you get free spring rolls, or some delicious french fries depending on the night. Dishes like the startled pig are perfectly spicy and explode with flavor. The fried chicken thighs were so so good as well. Coke check it out if your still haven’t yet.. Chef Chris and his team will take care of you
This place is such a fun vibe! Everything is delicious!
We couldn’t figure out why people like it so much. The Pastrami Pad Kee Mao was borderline nauseating. Like when your parents send you a package of pastrami from Katz’s and you need to figure out what to do with it at some point so you add it to everything. This can be good but it didn’t come together for me. One bathroom was rough (understatement) and the other was apparently fine. I used the first one and wish I didn’t. My friend was in the other universe of this experience and had a pretty tasty pad see ew. The music was super loud when we first got in. Some people like this but I like to hear the person I’m with as well as the waiter.
Just everything hits
Pad Thai was mediocre. Has potential but needed more flavor/sauce. Short rib curry was too sweet, beef was tender. Noodles in the khao soi were soggy/overcooked, soup was luke warm. Liked the papaya salad, but food doesn’t seem authentic at all. Easy to tell if the Asian food in a place is good or not by the number of Asians eating inside.
Solid Thai food, but not the best I’ve had.
Service
I went during an awkward hour on a Saturday, just before they close between lunch and dinner. The service was fast and attentive, but I’ve heard this place gets busy at night. I wouldn’t take my experience as the standard.
Atmosphere
Fun and interesting to look at. Lots of eye-catching art, signage, and garlands hanging around the room.
Food
We ordered the khao soi, pad see ew, and the larb. The khao soi was the second best I’ve had in LA. This is not the most common dish in Thai restaurants, which is a shame because I love it. The pad see ew was good but also not the best I’ve had. The larb, though “mild” was still spicy. Wow wow.
Overall
I still prefer The Thai Thing in mid city, which has the best khao soi and pad see ew, but that’s far away. I wouldn’t seek out Night + Market Song when I visit LA, but if it’s nearby, it’s a good choice.
Recommend?
Sure!
This place, the music, the food, the VIBE are immaculate!
Must go if you like spicy authentic Thai.
This place felt like they focused more on the decorations than the food. Upon walking in they are super packed and busy as a testament to their popularity. The entire room is filled with old decorations and colorful lights and pictures. Even the bathroom had a disco ball inside. Coming back to the food, I was with a date and we both ordered noodle dishes, her the pad thai and me the pad see ew. I thought the pad see ew was actually quite good, the noodles and sauce were really delicate and it was delicious. However, the pad thai was lacking. The tofu was extremely buttery and had a bitter aftertaste which made the entire dish hard to eat. The noodles were fine but also nothing special about them.
The service was exceptional and everyone was extremely friendly. Overall, it was a cool place but the food didn't live up to the hype.
Was quite disappointed after going to that restaurant. Their "mild" soup was very spicy in fact, even though I'm ok with spicy food usually. But in that case, you could see tons of chilly flakes inside the soup. On the question if they were sure the soup was indeed prepared mild, their response was – "yes, our mild is actually very hot". Which left me startled a bit – why to have mild choice at all then? We also had other dishes and nothing particularly impressed – dishes were very minimalistic.
Not sure what the hype is here - it’s all pretty standard Thai food. The Pad Thai was ok if luke warm. And the larb was super dry. Took far too long for the food to arrive which kind of killed the mood.
The drinks menu was non existent - we asked if there was a menu to view drinks and we were told there wasn’t one. “We have wine and coke” was all we were offered. Odd for a place that calls itself a “natural wine” destination.
Pretty disappointing really.
Vegan Larb
Perfect
Amazingly great Thai dishes with a cozy, fun atmosphere.
Comically spicy. I think they are pranking us with the spice. Trying to make us *feel something* with the spice. I don't even think thai people like this amount of spice. I could be wrong, but I truly feel like it was too spicy and salty to handle.
That said, beyond the raging blaze was delicious and complex flavor. My tip is to order mild versions of your food.
Everything here is simply delicious! The service is quite fast too. The staff are very helpful in assisting you with your menu selections. The Pastrami Pad Thai was extremely spicy. Our server allowed me to exchange it for the Chicken Pad Thai which was equally delicious.
Delicious. Order everything - but also ask for the ice cream with a fresh roti and you’ll be in heaven.
Really great menu, good Thai food and lots of wine options. Can get very spicy which is good! Really cool vibes just very loud so it's hard to have conversation.
The best Thai food I have eaten. I highly recommend coming here! Tried a lot of things on the menu and nothing disappoints! The ambience is great, cool vibe to it. Staff is attentive. If you like Thai food or knows someone that does, this place is a must try!!!!
The food is excellent, & the service was great. The music was way too loud though, uncomfortably so. We definitely ended our meal earlier than usual as a result, & maybe that's the point. However, the food is not inexpensive & when I go out with friends for a meal, the purpose of it is to spend time with those people & share a good meal. Not being able to comfortably communicate defeats the purpose. I'd order take if I happened to be in the area, but I don't see myself going here to dine in again.
From the moment our hostess greeted us and let us know we would be seated as soon as our 4th arrived it was clear that the packed house was something special. Serious food with plenty of attention to detail. The staff kicked butt!
Edited: They removed all the main vegan options. It used to be one of my favorites but the place has changed.
The atmosphere is quite unique! The chicken sandwich it’s unbelievable
Just a quick snack! The best Thai wings I’ve ever had. Chicken was cooked well done and crispy. The flavor was perfect. The chicken tasted clean and well-seasoned.
I’ll definitely be back.
Service was fast. It’s Silverlake so a little walk and meter parking is expected. Worth it to patronize all the neat shops.
The place packs a crowd. We only had a 5-minute wait.
Like the spot. Didn’t like the food. Food is definitely overrated. When you go into a Thai restaurant and there’s no Thai eating there. it’s a sign. I guess if you’re Farang, you’ll think it’s great, because you just don’t know. Even my Thai wife, who doesn’t ever say anything negative about anyone or any place, commented how it felt like a Farang must own it. Lmfao. I told her it wasn’t a white dude that owned it, it was a Thai guy. Oh, she says, must be a Thai that never been to Thailand. Ouch.
On to the food.
Som tum Thai was kind of boring and needed tamarind. I know they use lime, but tamarind gives it a better sour note.
Chicken sandwich doesn’t compare to any fried chicken I’ve ever had in Thailand. Wasn’t all that juicy and didn’t have any herbs I’m accustomed to. They say it’s northern Thai fried chicken, which I didn’t know fried chicken from the north was a thing. I know grilled chicken is a thing in the north and that fried chicken from the south in Hat Yai is a thing, but northern fried chicken? Sorry, but I spend a lot of time in the north and must of missed it. Idk. Was ok, but not something I would label “world famous”.
Crispy rice was ok. If you want killer crispy rice, look up crispy rice in North Hollywood and you’ll be in for a treat.
Lastly, we had the pad kra pao, which they spell it grapow. Kra pao is my all time favorite Thai dish. I’ve eaten it at literally hundreds of different restaurants and street vendors throughout Thailand. When we are home there, I eat it sometimes for breakfast, lunch and dinner for days on end. Sorry, but the dish here pretty much was my least favorite I’ve had. To put it simply, it sucked. This dish is literally named after a type of basil, which didn’t taste like they used, so not using the correct basil defeats the dish.
Anyway, if you want great Thai, go to the multiple other great Thai restaurants in LA. But I guess if you want to be a trendy Farang, come here. For me and my wife, when we aren’t home in Thailand, but visiting family and friends in SoCsl, we will not be eating here. Sorry.
Had so much fun here! Cory our server was so helpful, especially with the wines. He also gave us great recommendations for food. My favs where the beef curry and the catfish tamale with sticky rice for mains. The coconut mango sticky rice desert was also unreal. One small complaint… I get the music is supposed to be loud for the vibe of the place, but it could have be turned down just a little so we didn’t have to shout to hear each other. Besides that, the place is fantastic!
Delicious, and glad they’re back in action.
Don't go here for a first date!
Thought it would be a great place for a first date and it almost ruined dating the best girl I ever met.
The food is great and the service was fine, but you're seated so close to everyone that I could better understand my neighbors conversation than my dates. The music was so loud it was comparable to a night club and didn't help the awkwardness of saying "what" so many times that we just kinda sat in silence after awhile. This wasn't even when it was busy.
The food was really good and I would totally get take out. But in no way would I ever consider dining in again.
So much attitude I couldn’t even taste the food.
Beyond outstanding. Wow wow wow. Will be back every time im in LA. Order EVERYTHING
Great spot for tasty Thai food and fun atmosphere. There was a bit of a wait on a Tuesday evening.... but it was well worth it. 💜🍷🍽
Absolutely delicious. Must get the crispy rice salad. Parking is awful though.
Love that they serve non traditional Thai food. Love the vibe of the place.
Always fun to go to. The abbreviated menu doesn’t have the fried chicken sandwich. Can’t wait for that to come back.
It's open!! So excited to be able to go to this location. The service is absolutely delightful - everyone is wonderful and of course the food is just as special as ever. We'll be back often!
What even just happened?! Was what I was thinking when I rolled out of night market. Went with a crowd and we tried to eat the whole menu but couldn’t even come close. Definitely some of the best food in LA right now - hands down!
Simply delicious
Surprisingly, I came back for the fried chicken. Its fantastic.
Thank you for a delicious taste of LA! The pad see ew was delicious, the crispy rice is made with fresh ingredients and it shows. The cilantro was incredible, along with the red onion. Our favorite, though, was the wings. A delicious mix of savory and sweet, crispy but not hard. We were in love!
The wines are a bit pricey but good. The food was delicious and the waiters are very nice.
I loved this place.... 3 years ago.
Disappointing
Don't waste your time here. The menu has lost some of the most authentic and best dishes.
The service as absolutely abysmal, dropped dirty plates on us, never apologized. They had no clue how to explain any of the dishes. Ran out of beer, who runs put of beer when you only have one beer?
The chicken burn to a crisp.
Awful experience
Don't go.
