Pearl Thai in Benicia is like a culinary journey to Thailand with its flavorful main dishes that can satisfy that Thai food craving.
The cozy atmosphere wraps you in a warm, mom-and-pop embrace, making it feel like a home away from home. However, when they are busy, it seems like they may need just an extra hand.
Now, let's talk about the Tom Yum soup—it's the Thai food litmus test, right? This one had me doing a culinary double-take. It felt like it was playing hide-and-seek with tomatoes, and the spice level was on a mild vacation. I'm all for a flavor adventure, but this soup needed a bit more Thai kick to dance on my taste buds.
But hey, the angel wings, the seafood plate, and the shrimp pad Thai? And other dishes were good. They were like a Thai food orchestra hitting all the right notes. So, despite the Tom Yum detour, Pearl Thai knows how to deliver a tasty symphony on your plate.
A solid restaurant for everyday folk.
Great food. Reasonable prices.
Warm and attentive service.
We had an ample dinner for 4 for about $100.
That included some appetizers.
3 of us are vegan and one had a food allergy.
They gracefully took our order and modified what they served to fit.
I had the pra rahm. Excellent.
Note that several of the customers were speaking with the staff in their language.
There are a lot of nice places in Benicia down by the pier on 1st Street. If you are in the mood for Thai, this place is great. It is in a normal mall with ample parking and is a short drive back to the town center if you want. Town center is fun any time, made more fun when there is a market or something.
My first time here, recommended by a friend. I’m so glad I listen to him. I shared yellow curry with tofu and House fried rice with shrimp. The fried rice was so light and delicate, and the curry was just perfection. Not too heavy, and certainly not too overwhelming. it really was perfection
Food is mediocre at best. 😏 The drunken noodles was soggy and swimming in sauce. They forgot to put the noodles in the spring rolls, so it was just lettuce wrapped in rice paper. Pad Thai is too sweet.
We’ve tried this place several times and the results are always the same: subpar food that leaves us disappointed. 😒
I was so disappointed. My sister is in town for the first time in over 5 years with a taste for Thai Basil Fried Rice.
I tell her about a really nice restaurant that serves it.
The food is over cooked, burnt, the salad is hot and the appetizers look like leftovers fried again...
The Pad Thai is gummy and sticky, the Basil Fried Ruce isn't Fried... not fried. Just old rice stirred in a bowl.
Look for yourself.
I see in the reviews this restaurant opens their doors + offers meals to those in need + you've got my service for life if you do that! Thank you for your kindness. The food is exceptional + the service even more so. Sweet, warm, comfortable adorable cozy place to enjoy Thai food in! I'll be back.

I love the food! Nice menu, and the service is excellent!! GF very easy.
Mango sticky rice & chicken pad Thai so good!!! 😊
Our food was cold immediately, the $45 steak was tasteless this time and tough and cold because of the fans over our head. This was very disturbing as it’s never been this way before. I had to go ask for my boxed leftovers because they were removed from the table and never brought back. Whats going on. We never minded spending $100 on dinner there but now it’s not worth it anymore.
Gem of a place 🤗
Try the Kao Soi noodles with prawns. Delectable coconut sauce, quality dried noodles, lightly battered prawns and fresh veggies makes this dish to die for.
Great Thai food with very nice people.
Their Tom Yum soup, a traditional Thai favorite is the worst I have ever had. Tastes like pizz.

One of my favorite places to eat! Everything is fresh and has so much flavor! And the staff is amazing!
Tiny portions with mediocre flavor for 5 star prices. Bad customer service too.
Rudest store owner I have ever seen in my life
This is not authentic Thai food this is dessert, everything's more sugar than any other flavor, the portions are very small, especially for the prices. These reviews are from locked in benicia folks. Thai kitchen is a good comparison I recommend.

Amazing service and food
The vegetable fried rice is not fried. Just steam rice with some steamed veggies. Wasted $14 on the food.
This is now one of my new favorite places to eat. Great food, service and reasonable prices. Also just found out that for the holidays this restaurant allows customers to donate meals to those less fortunate. Anyone who is hungry, and down on their luck, or in a tight financial spot, can stop by for a free meal. Choose from one of the donated meals available on the front door. This fact put Pearl Thai Cuisine at the top of my list for best places to eat in the Vallejo/Benicia area. I totally recommend it. Check out their amazing lunch specials. I love their Basil Chicken meal. 👍🏽👍🏽
Yummy food and super friendly staff.
This please is great. Really nice people running the place. Great food. They have a donation wall where if you’re hungry and don’t have money you can pull donation receipt from wall and get meal. Super!!
Great Thai restaurant in Benicia! Food is excellent! The wait staff are super friendly and feel like family. One of my favorite Thai restaurants in the Bay Area.
Amazing food so fresh! The customer service is impecable im very happy with my visit. Thank you!
Great, friendly service. Food was hot, fresh and delicious. Consistently tasty meals. Highly recommend!
Did not find the cuisine excellent, maybe because I compared it to Pearl Thai in Benicia, CA. where we always go get Thai food near us
Extremely pushy and disrespectful.
Love this place. We have ordered to go both times we have gotten food so I cannot speak to the actual atmosphere of the restaurant but the staff is so friendly every time I have picked up my food and it’s been on time and hot and ready to go. We have tried pad tai and the drunken noodles and have loved it every time, really good noodles!
10 out of 10. First time visit and the food was delicious. Portions are just right and the staff is personable
Excellent restaurant.... Highly recommend that you go!
Good tasty food but they need to care more about the accuracy of online and phone in orders. I had an issue and they just shrugged it off completely. Did not care at all about my experience. Order here but be super careful about accuracy and payment. They just want your money.
Thai is my favorite Asian food. Then, of course, there's Japanese tempura. Pearl's is the best Thai food I've tasted. Will make a point of dining there when I have biz in Vallejo area. Love the fact, Pearl opens earlier for dinner than other Thai places.
Always delicious and amazing service!
Family owned
Oh my good-ness! Yum!
Drunken Noodles, the best, most flavorful, watch out it's spicy, noodles I've had... maybe anywhere!
Mango curry, YES.
Ginger ale with fresh ginger and mint? Take my money!
The people are just lovely with a "Welcome home" as you walk in the door and a "See you tomorrow" as you leave.
Honestly, it was so good I might actually go back tomorrow!
A new favorite hands down.
Great food and service
Always willing to please and the food is amazing!
Friendly, good atmosphere and great dishes 👌 👍 😀
Great tasting food as always.
Thank you for having gluten free options that are safe for people with celiac disease! I got the pad thai with soft (steamed) tofu
Soggy overdressed pearl salad. Very pricey. First couldn’t get waited on although it wasn’t busy. Then everything came at once. . Can’t recommend. Sorry . 🙁
Pearl's Salad is the most intense mix of flavors that I have ever wrestled and won. The Thai Coffee was a chocolaty dessert ready to power an afternoon adventure.
Very good food, very clean, and friendly service!
Vegetables Dish was fresh and delicious 😋
Broccoli beef was terrible, meet very tough and chewy, broccoli was good but who can't make broccoli. The other dishes were too greasy for me! 4.6 is more than very forgiving I would give this a 4.0 at best...
The crew is welcoming and attend your needs. The food is of good quality. The fresh rolls were delicious. The pad thai was good, a bit too much of Tamarin.
I would go back just for the tea! I can't put my finger on what the flavor was, but that tea was delicious. And the meal was delicious. Very friendly lady too. We'll be back.
Pompano was outstanding!
Good place
Very small portions, not worth the prices, unfortunately went with a group of 8 and they added the 18% gratuity. In which they did not mention, so made you feel like you still need to tip. The fast talking upsell is their game as well.
Be weary if you are on a budget.
Best restaurant in a 50 mile radius. Celiac safe.
Friendly business
I cant express how nice all employees are, some are very witty as well (AJ) ... fun! The food is beautiful and delicious. The restaurant itself is just charming.
We really enjoyed eating here! The drunken noodles, pad see ew and pad Thai were all delicious. Portions were a little small but we did come during lunch so I’m sure they’re bigger with the dinner menu. We enjoyed all the flavors and customer service was also great! I especially loved the kids plates and silverware they offered. We will be back for sure!
I drove across the country eating chicken wings … I had over a 100 types of chicken wings and these are the best in the country. Moist in the middle, crunchy on the outside, layered with basil and a bit spicy but sweet sauce. My mouth is salivating as I write this. Pearl of Thai has the best Thai food in the East Bay!!!
The best Thai food in the Vallejo/Benicia area. An amazing family owned restaurant with great customer service, and most importantly where delicious food is served!
This is by far the best Thai place me and my fiance have gone to. We definitely try to go here whenever we are able to. I have made it a priority to add their crispy pork to just about every dish they have on the Menu because it is just that good. If I could give them a 10 star review I definitely would. Keep it rocking Pearl Thai!
Amazing
Very quiet and lifeless/ dull atmosphere. OK Menu with minimal ingredients. Higher profit$ is the main focus here. Customer
satisfaction is not highest on the list.
If allergic to MSG, ask before ordering. I detected high sodium in what I ordered and had constipation the following day we ate there.
The food here is amazing and the place is clean and the people are friendly.
I really love everything that I have eaten there! 😃 ❤️ 💙 💜
Could have been a lot better. I just sat down and a guy skipped out of the bill or tip.
2 small pieces of chicken. Small bowl of curry
Rice was good. Older waiter was eyeballing me. As if I was going to skip out on the bill.
15 and change with tip. The chili trio of toppings were low. I mean really LOW..
I am not the biggest fan of Thai food, but I absolutely LOVE Pearl. The food is always great. This is definitely the best Thai food in the area.
Delicious, authentic, and great service! We will definitely be back soon. Thank you!
Every single time I've order from Pearl Thai their food and customer service has been supreme. I'm Always welcomed with a warm smile, friendly banter, and my green Thai curry is always on point! Their customer service is so spectacular that even if the food wasn't as delicious as it is, I would still order from there on the mere principle of phenomenal customer service. Thank you Pearl Thai! I'm grateful to have you in our community.
Yummy fresh food.
I had a drunken noodle and it was very bad. Worst in my life. No good flavor and vegetables not cooked enough. What's wrong with the chef? I don't think I would come back here
First time eating at Pearl Thai. Delicious food! Very very nice service. So friendly and welcoming. Will be back. Lots of delicious selections.
Really nice place!
I ordered the green duck curry and sticky rice and baayyybeee…..IT WAS DELICIOUS! I want more! The flavors were good, it was nice and hot upon arrival with the right amount of spice. I loved it! However, the only downfall was the rice. I didn’t get enough for the curry so I just had rice floating in my curry lol Other than that, i would definitely order from this place again.
Love the flavors they have at this restaurant and friendly service
Food is fresh and fabulous
The food tasted pretty good. But I was shocked by the service we received. I paid when we ordered, thinking we were ordering take-out. I added a sizable tip, even though we weren't planning to receive wait service. knowing that a lot of restaurants have struggled through the pandemic. About 5 mins after ordering, we decided to stay and eat indoors since there were no other patrons in the restaurant and we felt safe to take our masks off. The host said that would be fine. My friend and I sat down in a booth and received our food. It was around 7:30pm. I had not even taken a bite of the entree yet (I had eaten some of my soup and 1 or 2 spring roll bites) when a staff member from the restaurant came over to us and asked if we were done eating yet. My friend pointed out that we needed more time (I hadn't even taken a bite of my entree); the man looked frustrated and pointed at the sign he had just flipped over, noting that they were now closed, then turned on his heel and walked away. It was 8:00 exactly. I have never experienced such rude service in a restaurant. If they close at 8, they could have gently let us know. They could have focused on cleaning the kitchen and allowed us 10 more minutes to eat our food. Instead, they brought to go boxes and rushed us out of the restaurant, meal half eaten. It was really a horrible experience. The kinder waiter, when I brought up to him that I felt his colleague was rude, he did apologize, but then he told us "that's just how he is". Well, maybe you should keep him away from the customers then.
They're one of the few places I've found that will actually make things spicy if you ask!!!
Solid Thai food. A little more $ than the other local alternative but I think the ingredients are higher quality. I highly recommend their daily specials as they go the extra mile with extended flavor and vegetables or special proteins (fish, etc).
Quick and very friendly service. Beautiful atmosphere and the food was delicious.
Great food and friendly people !
The food is very good, and the price is right, the attendant was courteous
So far tried Pearl Thai twice during Covid times. I ordered through their website both times. It is very easy to order online and they have pictures. The food was ready when I arrived both times and the set up is nice. One person in and out at a time. The food is very good too. I thought the pad thai was a little too sweet for me but the drunken noodles are delicious! I don't really do well with spice but medium seems like a good compromise. Just a little tingling to my lips! Also the portions are very reasonable )at least for the noodle dishes, I haven't tried the other things). I'm sure if you were eating with a group and everyone got an item each to share, there would still be leftovers. I will be ordering from this place often.
A real Thai food, my wife loves Thai food so much and she can tell if it's genuine or not. This restaurant is a genuine and real. The place is very clean and neat. The staff is so friendly and nice.
This place is a gem. Since the stay at home orders happened, this place has become my guilty pleasure. I've found that their Pad Thai is amazing and try to order it as much as I can. If you love Thai food then give this place a try!
We ate here a few months ago and everything was really good. Tried it again tonight and everything was super bland, and barely warm by the time we got it. The appetizer sampler was soggy and cold. We ordered online and were told it would be ready in 30 minutes. It's clear it had been prepared as soon as we ordered. Would love to come back when you guys are at the top of your game again.
First time eating out in months was not a disappointment. Was visiting apartments in the area and found this place, very great/fasts takeout service, very good tasting food. However, one thing I would have liked is to have some complimentary rice like many restaurants. I hope your business braves the storm!
We loved this place, the staff is nice and warm the food is delicious, dessert was also really good, they even have dishes for our LO to eat which we absolutely loved and luckily we found a sweet couple that showed us their favorites plates and they were delicious, eggplant lover and pineapple rice we definitely will be back
Yummy lunch. Repeat customer
I used to go as a kid, it has changed alot, and I feel it's not as good as before.
BEST THAI FOOD EVER! (and I have been enjoying Thai for 40 years). If you're out Benicia way you have to try it to appreciate just how good it is!
Great food and staff
Friendly and fast. Wall decor nice and seemed clean overall. I only ordered Pad Thai and it was really sour which made it taste pretty much like noodles flavored with only ketchup.
Great customer service, great food.
Delicioso
Silver Noodle Soup VERY good
great staff, great food
Great
Spicy Fish and Fried Rice with Brown Rice was great!
Awful! These must be fake reviews bc we left this place with a stomach ache! Ordered the "Asian Style BBQ Chicken". Gross! Obviously old and twice reheated (tough) so we sent it back. Ordered fish thinking it would be fresh. Charged $17 for a single pompano that was deep fried in dirty oil and the fish itself was small and tasted bad. Smothered with a disgusting sweet and sour sauce, not fresh either. Worst part was the Tom Yum, which was way off! Tamarind tasted so bad, no love, tasted totally old. This place is ripping ppl off with high prices for really bad, old food and small portions. Never again. We need TUMS!!!
You should be good now everything taste like coconut milk
My favorite thai place in Benicia or Valle I usually get pumpkin curry 1time per week or so it's good and better priced than downtown by my job. Tony is very nice to everyone
Great!
Love this local restaurant. Food is always consistent. Hot, good portions, and fair priced. Family owned and always make you feel like you are welcome. The yellow curry is my favorite!!!
A great Thai restaurant and reasonable prices roo!
Best Thai ever!
My second home, great food, friendly service and cozy ambience.
Yummy food, great service.
I love yellow curry pork soup. Yummy! Pad thai noodles with beef . it was ok. It was dry. And the beef was tough to chew. Better with chicken or pork or shrimp with pad thai. I like fried rice. And chicken vegetables with basil sauce!
Never been there I'd like to try it
This place sucks. I have eaten here a few times since I live close but the food is always overcooked, and the curries are grossly sweet. I cannot believe the number of positive reviews as I've tasted most of the menu and it is all mediocre at best. I recently I spent $17 on "crispy pork" only to discover when I got home less than 3oz of soggy pork in a pile of vegetables, considering the price I thought it must be a mistake and drove back. It was expensive and I was hungry. The manager then refused to fix the order or refund me based on the fact that pork is "expensive" pointing to their ancient "best of Solano county" award, clearly he doesn't understand the concept of being polite or customer service since was cursing at me (I was very polite) and clearly ready to argue til blue in the face. I did not argue the point and left as not one person spoke coherent English. I will not be back.
La comida riquísima y el postre igual
Great experience,fast friendly service
Fabulous food, very good service from the heart! A delicious and satisfying experience.
Great Food
Food is fresh tasty and hot service is spot on ! My go to restaurant for Thai food
The service is wonderful, I have been there a handful of times and am always greated like family. The menu options are great, I got to try the crab rangoons for the first time tonight and they were delicious, some of my faves are the pinapple fried rice, pad thai (of course), the fresh rolls are amazing, and the crispy pork is to die for. There are so many other choices, and its a good idea to save some room for the fried banana sunday! Overall, 5/5.
Outstanding
Great authentic food with great service. Very welcoming!
Best Tai Food in the area!
Great food great service. Healthy New year with salmon, prawns, asparagus, and green beans was delicious.
Always a treat. Don't get there often but I enjoy the restaurant and entrees are made so we'll.
Great little restaurant hidden in Southhampton shopping center. Delicious specials and good service
I love, love, love the yellow curry with chicken from this place! Especially on a cold night.
